Adjust Palette Height in Organizer V4.0

b Does anyone know why their are no handlers on my properties box? I am not able to resize it like it says to do in item "C" below. I am unable to drag this box up or down and it is barely visible in my organizer. In the Elements help program it says to do this:

In the Organizer, the Organize Bin appears on the right side of the work area. This bin stores multiple palettes in a single drawer that you can open to access the palettes, or close to expand the photo window.
The Tags and Collections palettes are locked in place and cannot be moved.

i A. Click to show or hide Palette Bin or drag left or right to adjust palette width B. Collapse or expand palette C. Drag up or down to adjust palette height D. Show or hide Organize Bin E. Close palette

b Ok, here is how you fix the problem of the missing gray "Resize Handle " bar attached to the properties dialog box in the organizer.
i remember to always backup your catalog before deleting program files.
b Close all running Photoshop programs before proceeding!
b Open the explorer (Windows) program and expand the c:/Documents and Settings folder to find the following folder: Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/4.0/Organizer.
i Now inside the Organizer folder are two .dat files. First delete the status.dat file and then minimize the explorer program.
i Next open Elements and see if the resize handler is visible (note that the properties checkbox under "Window" on the main toolbar should be checked.
i If it is visible then close explorer. Elements will rewrite the status.dat file. If it is not, close Elements and go back to explorer and delete the customer.dat file.
Now you can close Explorer an reopen Elements and the resize handle should be there.

I'm very much looking forward to your response.I've been involved with similar issues in the past. My first response is simple: Does this data have to be shown in the report? Can the offending column(s) be removed from the primary report? They will still be visible in the single row view, and the detail view if there is one.
The second option is to create a detail view for the report with a structure that is better suited to the data involved, and make this the default view. (For an example of this, see the treatment of the PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION column in the detail view of the Products report in the Sample Database Application: click on the View Detail button on the Products page.)
The third possibility is some kind of customization of the presentation of the data. This will involve using some combination of HTML/CSS/Dynamic Actions/Plug-ins/JavaScript that you may not be familiar with: do you have experience of these? To go down that route you need to describe in detail how you want to present the data, or what behaviour is required when the data is too long, and share an example of the report on apex.oracle.com that we can work with.

Tabbed panel with adjustable/variable height based on content

Is there anyway that you can create a tabbed panel with adjustable/variable height based on content in each tab?

Thanks for your reply, however, it is not working with Muse. I added the Javascript to the head section and adjusted iframe and it displays as a small square in the upper left hand corner, unable to view the whole page.

The purpose is to have an independent website run the blogging capabilities, since muse doesn't directly support blogging as of yet.
Since the site is on a different domain, I am running into cross domain issues and it won't get the height of the page. The methods that apparently work use php and I am unsure how that would work in muse, if at all.

Are you referring to the section "Design the Visit page?" If so, can you tell me what time in the video you start having problems? Is it at the beginning of the video when the presenter goes into the Page Properties and adjusts the height of the page?

Can you adjust the height of the toolbar button in the skin file?

Can I manually adjust the height of the toolbar navigation buttons in the skin file? It seems no matter how tall I make the nav panel, the buttons adjust size accordingly. Can I tell it to be 50% or something like that? For example, this is what I see for the glossary button.

You must be someone that dearly loves digging into code.
The simplest way to adjust the buttons is to use the built in Skin Editor.
Hmmm, and in writing that response it occurs to me that you haven't exactly advised which of the outputs you are creating. The skin editor I'm referring to is the WebHelp skin editor. To open it, click View > Pods > Project Set-up. Once that pod is open you should see the Skins folder. Expand that and double-click the skin you are using to open and edit it using the skin editor.

Changing defaults on the adjustment palette

Unfortunately I took a series of photos with a soft focus lens and I'm having to go in and sharpen each one. However I'm getting tired of having to select sharpen from the adjustment palette menu each time. Is there a way to default this to on?

Adjust Palette slider. Sometimes zeroed out, sometimes not

I can't understand what is going on.
I will edit my photos using the adjust palette and when I move on to the next photo, sometimes it says "saving changes" and sometimes not. On the photos where it does "save" the changes, when I go back to the photo, the adjustments are there, but the sliders have been zeroed out. This makes it impossible to "copy" the sliders and paste to another photo. Nor can I see what adjustments have been made.
While on some photos, it's doesn't "save changes" when I move away from it. When I return to the photo, the adjustments are there, AND the sliders are where I moved them to. This is what I WANT to happen on every photo so I can see what I've done. But on some photos it "saves" them and I can't see my adjustments in the sliders.
This seems completely random and changes from photo to photo within the same album. Both versions look right and have my adjustments correct, it's just that one will show me the adjustments in the adjust palette, and the other will have sliders zeroed out as if that's how the photo came right out of the camera.
What gives?

I don't see anything that jumps out as to why but do see a couple of things you can try.
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - empty the User/Library/Caches/iPhoto folder
3 - rebuild the library as follows: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
If none of the above help, boot into another account (if you don't have one create a non-admin account as it's a very good troubleshooting tool), create a test library, import a few photos and give it a good editing workout. If the edits are saving as they should then there could be an issue with a preference file, other than iPhoto's, in your primary account. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
Trouble Shooting Preferences
Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Preferences folder (in its entirety) to the Desktop and make a second copy of it so you have Copy A and B. Now try the the process again and determine if problem is fixed.
If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up.
Open Copy B on the Desktop and select all of the items inside. Drag them into the open new library folder. When the Copy window comes up check the Apply to All check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here. That will keep the new files created and bring back all of the others.
If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the intact Copy A folder back to the Library folder .
On a different note I see you have just 8 GB of free space. If you can increase that to around 15GB I'm sure you'll see an improvement in system and application performance. Also If you upgrade to 10.4.11 be sure to use the 10.4.11 COMBO updater.

Creating a New Layer Using Icons in Adjustment Palette

When creating a new layer using the icons in the adjustments palette and holding ALT in CS5 a dialog box would appear before creating the new layer. At this point you could rename the layer change the blending mode etc.
In CS6 I do not get the dialog box to appear the new layer is just created. I've tried to reset my preference twice and this has not help. Any ideas?

ACJ81 is correct (at least as far as Ps on OS X is concerned) and the problem was mentioned in the forum not too long ago. In CS5, Alt-clicking an icon in Adjustments panel does cause a New Layer dialog to pop open and the dialog fails to appear in CS6.
In CS6 and CS5, the dialog will appear if you pick an Adj Lyr from the Layer > New Adjustment Layer submenu, both with or without Alt modifier. (That lack of control over the appearance of an optional dialog when picking from a menu is an inconsistency in the interface.)
In CS6 and CS5, the dialog will appear if you Alt-click the black and white circle at bottom of Layers panel then pick an Adj Lyr from the menu, as Noel said.

How to auto adjust the height of my div tag?

The white background is a div tag and whenever I add new content within the div tag I want it to auto adjust to extend the white div tag down as the page gets longer. I have tried css and set my height to auto but that makes it disappear. Right now I have to set it to a certain amount of pixels which gets annoying and sometimes I forget to after adding lots of content. PLEASE HELP.

Problems with Automatic Adjust row height in FRs ver. 11.1.2.1.103

We have just upgraded to 11.1.2.1.103 from 9.3.3.

We had a fairly complex report that worked in the previous environment, but not anymore.
We have a number of text lines with that pulls from other lines in the report that are hidden.
It is celltext that we are reporting on.
The lines are setup, so the row height should just adjust depending on the amount of text, but it does no longer work for consecutive lines with the adjust row hight atribute swithed on. I now have to insert blank text lines with a fixed height in between to get it to work.
It makes the report the report look messy, so has anyone had similar issues and know a work around or a possible patch.

How do I adjust the length of an image without adjusting the height?

I'm making labels for playdoh for my son's bday party so I need the label to be long and short in length to fit. I inserted my image/photo onto a blank slide in keynote. I have tried to make the photo longer but it is also making it taller. I'm used to working w/Powerpoint where you stretch the corner to adjust height and width...and if you wanted only length to be stretched you simply stretch the arrow on the side and the height stays the same. I have spent over an hour trying to figure this out! I realize it is probably easy but please help if you can! Thanks so much!

Hi Lieven, I did exactly as you said except it would not allow me to check or uncheck the constrain proportions options. It appears to be unchecked but it does not give me an option to do anything under the Metrics tab. Do you have any idea why? Thanks.

'Vertical zoom automatically adjusts track height" -- how?

Perhaps its somewhere out there (or here) right under my nose, but after much searching I have not been able to find anywhere how to take advantage of this new feature in the 10.0.3 Yosemite update for GB. Not in the manual or online where its mentioned with the other new features everywhere, but no one describes how.
And, am I reading this 'new' feature correctly -- that we can now vertically enlarge all tracks at once or, far better yet, be able to heighten each individually? Or is just the same old thing added to the prior update/version (i think) that added automatically enlarging/heightening the first 3 new tracks added to a song---which is helpful, but then squeezes 'em all back down smaller and smaller the more tracks one adds.

There is nothing to describe. We do not have any control at all about the height of the racks. It is adjusted completely automatic.

Auto Adjusting Wrapper Height

Hello, I would like to create a wrapper to house my entire website which i beleive is common practice. The problem comes in with the height of it. I would like to have my wrappers height (which will hold all of my other div's) automaticaly adjust when i add or delete div's. Is this possible? I have tried setting the height of the wrapper to Auto and 0 Auto.

Wrapper height is automatically determined by the content inside it. You do not need to add height. If your wrapper contains floated elements, add overflow:hidden to your wrapper's CSS to prevent margin collapse.

That's a lot of questions..... but here are your answers:
1. Can we adjust variable row height for each row,Yes, use JTable's setRowHeight method to set the height of each row.
2. Also as we adjust the column widht, can we adjust the row height by dragging,You should be able to adjust the column width by clicking the mouse on the edge of the column header and drag. There is no automatic provision for changing the row height that way -- you'll have to add a mouse listener to the rowheader and write your own code to perform the resizing.
3.Suppose i have JTextArea as a cell renderer , how can i display all the text in a row with out having to use a scroll bar, You'll have to figure out how many rows (based on the sum of the individual row's height) the textarea occupies (taking into consideration the font that you used to render the textarea). I have my own way of doing things but if you search this forum, you'll find a lot of discussion on how to do it.
