Adjust size of menu bar in single page

I am creating a new website for work and just added a menu bar on the main page. After a lot of trial and error, I pretty much have it looking the way I want. However, on the subsequent pages, I want to add menu bars with an extra button called 'home'. When I do that on the other page, it knocks the menu down to 2 lines. I'm afraid that if I adjust the style in the subsequent page, the changes will be made to the main page, which I do not want. Is there a way to create a separate style sheet for the menu bar or better yet, adjust the menu on a specific page without it affecting the other pages?

Link the Company logo to your Home Page.  No extra button  required.
Horizontal menu bars require a lot of extra wiggle room and planning.  If one extra button is going to damage your layout, you better test your pages with increased text sizes (zoom, text only) ctrl+++ to be sure the page is holding up with/without extra buttons. Sometimes, it's best to plan on having 2 rows of horizontal links for people who require larger text.

    You can use some extensions to achieve this.
    * Theme Font & Size Changer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
    You can use the NoSquint extension to set font sizes (text/page zoom) and text colors on web pages.

  • How do you increase type size in menu bars and panels?

    I recently abandoned my Mac Pro 1,1 for a shiny new Mac Pro cylinder running Mavericks 10.9.5. I have paired it with an LG 27" IPS display. The reason I am using the LG is because I was frustrated that Apple pays absolutely no attention to the pleas of their pro users for a non-reflective display.
    And now I find that the type in the menu bars and panels is so small that it literally causes me eyestrain - and that I can't increase the type size. I am older (62), but I still need to use my Mac to survive. Unfortunately, though, it appears that Apple designers have again ignored the needs of their pro users -  in this case, older ones.
    I have been a graphic designer and a producer of technical and marketing publications for over 35 years, and I appreciate good-looking design -  but the real measure of design is usability. Even great-looking design must be user friendly.
    So now I am wondering if Apple interface designers are amateurs, or if they just don't give a @#$% about their users.
    Did I miss it? Is their a way to increase type size in menu bars, etc.?

    Did I miss it?
    Yes.
    System preferences > Displays > Resolution ...
    choose "Scaled" and pick an alternate resolution.
    When you do this, text will be drawn as if your screen were actually set to that revolution, but graphics will be drawn full-scale at the native resolution.
    This feature was invented for Retina Displays, and has finally been made available for additional displays.

  • Simple Menu Bar On Home Page Doesn't Display in IE 7

    Hello,
    I have a really simple xhtml site with a menu bar at the top of the page.  It looks great in firefox and works in most version of IE but it disappears in IE 7 and I have no idea how to fix it.  The site is staged at www.consurv.net/stage.
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    - John

    Corel, I know you mean well, but your solution does not work.
    You keep posting this all over the place but can't you see it isn't helping people? Safe Mode is useless. I have no conflicts with add-ons, extensions or plugins. Those dozens of "places" files that you say must be deleted...that's utterly insane.
    Firefox has created a new browser that is buggy in a major league way and they must fix it. If not, I'm going to use another browser and I will uninstall Firefox.

  • How to increase font size in menu bars

    Hi, have eyesight dissability, need to increase font size in all menu bars for my brand new G5
    have any ideas? thanks
    Pepe

    System Preferences>Universal Access. Or change the resolution to 1344 X 840. System Preferences>Displays.
    BTW if you have a MacBook Pro it is not a G5. It is an intel Mac. G5 Macs were discontinued years ago.

  • How to create menu bar in jsp page using struts-tles

    I have started working with struts-tiles. I want to create menu bar using struts-tiles. please guide me.

    I've done this very recently. In fact, tiles has very little to do with the menu itself.
    In your layout, define where you want the menu to go.
    <tiles:insert attribute="menu" />Now, in the actual file, create your menu structure. This part is up to you. I've used http://www.brainjar.com/ as a starting point for the client side actions.
    On my menu page, I call a method on a custom object that returns the menu bar object. Currently, I'm working on putting this menu into some sort of cached object so it doesn't have to rebuild it on every page request.
    Perhaps I've misread your post and you're looking to use tiles, in and of itself, to simulate menus? Otherwise, I hope my post helps.

  • Safari only partially loads certain web pages. The menu bar on a page is completely missing so I can't access any of the site

    where that white bar is above the login should be a menu bar. It never loads and I cannot access a number of pages on the site. Is there anyway to correct this?

    Hello Siobhan86,
    It looks like your iPad is not loading this webpage correctly all of a sudden. I would start by quitting Safari:
    iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it.
    When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    If the issue persists, I would next clear the website data for Safari in Settings:
    Safari settings - iPad User Guide
    Go to Settings > Safari, where you can:
    Clear your history, cookies, and data
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Can you have more than 1 menu bar on a page?

    I would like to create some pages that have a primary Spry
    menu bar for the public area of our site, but also a secondary spry
    menu bar that is only visible in our Members Only area. Both would
    need to be visible and operational when members are on our Members
    Only pages. I would like the styling of the two menu bars to be
    slightly different as well.
    Is this possible using the Spry widgets in CS3? I haven't
    tried it yet, but don't want to waste a bunch of time if it's not
    possible.
    Thanks!

    I haven't used a menu bar yet, but for other widgets, they
    are given an ID. When you add a second widget it gives that one a
    different uniaue ID. Therefore, you can have as many as you want.
    Your problem witll be in the styling. I made a page with 2
    tabbed panels. The first was panel1 by default the second was
    panel2. I did a save as of the panel1.css file to panel2.css. In
    the panel2.css I added the number 2 behind each css rule. I also
    added a 2 behind each class and ID name in the panel2 code on the
    page.
    Now you will have independent styles for each and you can
    make each as different as you wish.

  • Can I adjust size of the photos on front page of the photo album template?

    When I am working on a Photo Album page, how can I make the "front page" photos larger? I am talking about the photos arranged in rows, not the photos that show in the slide show carousel. Is it a set size in the Photo Album template or is it a consequence of how large a photo I set into the page?
    Also, how is "large" defined? Is it about inches, or is it about resolution?
    — Lorna in Southern California

    I found the large too large and the small too large.
    How large do you want them Lorna?
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
    Michael, where did you go to check to see that the large was indeed too large and the small too large? What method of adjusting the size are you using?
    If you want them really large, why don't you just
    plonk the real photo on the page sized as large as
    you wish, and you can always link it to its own page
    with an even larger version!!
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
    Michael, actually I misstated in my first post. Actually I would not like the photos in the Photo page to be too large, because then no one will be motivated to click onto the See Slideshow button.
    My mind is getting so crammed with input and other people's websites that I now cannot even recall with certainty which pictures I wanted larger. 8-( Oh, this is giving me a cramped-in-the-chest feeling. I had best take a break now and finally eat a legitimate meal.

  • Spry menu bar lost current page code

    I sure can use your help.
    On this site http://www.evtn.com/ I created a drop down menu that originally had the
    current-linked page in a blue background like the one that is now permanently
    sitting on the HOME page link. But it stopped working.
    I want this to work:
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.current {
        color: #F4F4F4;
        background-color: #8FC8D1;
    Do you know how I can straighten this out without starting all over again?
    I would also like to have a visited-link-page coded in a separate color if possible as well and don't know how to code it with the java script and spry.css (horizontalmenubar.css)
    I'll send more code of html and spry - whatever you need.
    I've read older posts on this and tried different things but nothing has changed.
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a:hover  works so I don't know why the content won't
    Thank you!

    Add the following to each page, or to your template
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryDOMUtils.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
    function InitPage(){
    Spry.$$('#MenuBar1 li').forEach(function(node){
        var a=node.getElementsByTagName("a")[0]; // finds all a elements inside the li, but we only want the first so [0]
        if(a.href == window.location){
            Spry.Utils.addClassName(node,"current");
    Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
    </script>
    making sure that you do have SpryDOMUtils.js in the SpryAssets folder.
    Because the above place a class of current in the list item, you will need to change the selctor to and add
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.current a {
        color: #F4F4F4;
        background-color: #8FC8D1;

  • The windows change after a while automatically to a very big size, difficult to read a single page

    this does happen in Firefox as well as in thunderbird

    Hi Bernd,
    Is this randomness coinciding with transports? I do not see you describing issues on development systems.
    Maybe there's an issue with duplicate profile names in a sense that a profile name is linked to a different roles throughout the landscape. You could consider comparing AGR_PROF from dev/qas/prd, and through your productive landscape as well as the short and long development street (yes, I know Bernd's actual setup).
    I think if you transport a role with an already existing profile name on the target system there could be an issue where the profile name is 'claimed' by the role just transported into the system. The role which had a relation with this profile on the target system is left without a profile until you (re)generate one.
    As a workaround you can run SUPC on a regular basis to see and fix the profiles affected.
    Cheers
    Jurjen

  • When menu bar is on a Master page, it is always on bottom layer on its child pages.

    How do you put items under it on its child pages? I don't want it getting covered over with added graphics. The workaround of pasting the menu bar on every page sucks.

    Wondering if anyone ever worked this out - I am having the identical problem and more, on the individual pages, my "controlled by master" is completely greyed out. My layout works well when I am working on the master.
    I am totally new to liquid layout, any tips welcome.

  • Is there a way to show a web page title when the menu bar is hidden?

    I need to see the web page title on the top bar of the browser because the tabs don't give me enough information. However, when I have the menu bar hidden, the page titles go away, too. Is there a setting I'm missing to show the page titles even when the menu bar is hidden?
