Adjust sound to edit back noise out in imovie

the video is a .mov file and i wanted to adjust the sound to edit out the backround noise to get the talking in the video louder for a recorded interview. Can i do it in I movie? i have Imovie hd 6

That's cool I installed audacity a while ago its fun to slow down voices. I go to file import and find the video and it takes the audio out i guess. But when i play it, it makes a horrid noise and it only takes about a second to play a 3 minute video. I don't know if I should change the format of the video or know more about the options to import audio, labels, MIDI, and raw data. It has lots of options after some of them.

Sound problems with back line out port

Hey everyone, I just sent an email to MSI Tech Support, but figure I would post a message here as well. I just put together a new system, but I'm having a problem with the back line out port.
My problem: When I plug in the front panel audio connectors (Left Audio Out, Left Audio Return, Right Audio Out, Right Audio Return) in the motherboard on pins 5-6 and 9-10 of JAUD1, the back line out does not work properly. I get sound on only the right speaker of the headphones.
More info:
- Audio Driver: 5.10.0.5620 (from MSI CD)
- If I instead plug the headphones on the front audio line out, then sound is fine
- Here's the strange part, if I unplug the front audio connectors from the motherboard (and short pins 5-6, 9-10 with the jumpers, obviously), then the sound on the back line out works properly!
- My Windows sound settings are fine
Has anyone heard of this problem? Any ideas/suggestions of what I could try?
Could this be a defective board? Could it be bad wires on the case? Seems unlikely since both back line out and front line out work depending on what I have setup.

I appreciate the reply, but I believe you are wrong. Yes, I have searched the forum and did find that thread. Yes, I have read the manual. The only thing that it says is: "If you don't want to connect to the front audio header, pins 5 & 6, 9 & 10 have to be jumpered in order to have signal output directed to the rear audio ports. Otherwise, The Line-out connector on the back panel will not function." That's not my case since I want both ports to work (not outputting the signal both at the same time, obviously).
This can't be ByDesign. Either my board is defective or MSI is not following the Intel Front Panel I/O Connectivity Guide correctly. The whole point of having 4 wires for the front panel audio ports, 2 of the wires being Aud_Ret_R and Aud_Ret_L, is so that the audio signal is sent to the front line out and _returned_ to the back line out if nothing is plugged in the front line out.
I have an IBM machine with an intel mobo at work and it works as mentioned in the design guide.
Any other ideas, anyone? I can still RMA my motherboard, but it's a design issue, i guess I'm stuck. I never got an automated reply from MSI Tech Support, so I guess my email never went through. I'll send another email and let the forum know of the results.

No sound out of back line out MacPro Bootcamp 3.1 Windows 7 64bit

No sound out of back line out speakers.
MacPro Early 2008
Bootcamp 3.1
Windows 7 64bit
Realtek HD audio driver.
I have speakers plugged into the back line out.
They work in Mac 10.6.4 (as always) and in Parallels 5 Windows 7 using Bootcamp partition.
All other jacks work. In Realtek driver it shows nothing connected to that jack.
Anybody else have this issue?

Even if you don't have the issue yet have a similar setup. Maybe I can figure out if there's a driver update I may need.
BTW I KNOW others have this as I've seen this mentioned on other forums. What I do NOT know is whether it's "everyone" or there's something about systems that don't have this issue, I need to follow.

Hmmm, I wonder if that window is hidden or off screen? Have you moved the pic window around to look under it?

Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...

The date information is taken from the camera which writes it to the file. This needs to be set to the correct date and time in the camera itself.
The order the images are shown in the Library mode is set by clicking on the sort button in the tool bar, which if not showing can be activated from view, tool bar. There are different sort orders that can be applied including sorting by file name. You can also sort by dragging the images to the order you wish them to appear in by selecting user order.

Mabye one of your microphones broke. Take it to the apple store they will be able to help you.

FM transmitor Car kit back noise pble

I bought the Tunecast Auto for Ipo from Belkin (according to the vendor, the best one on the market). When I play music on one frequency I always have some back noise which is very annoying when listening classical music ! Also, seems like the sound output is far less than normal CD in the car. I have to increase the volume by at least 30%. Any poossibility to increase the output or make all the songs sound with the same level. And of course, how to reduce this noise (looks like I have a bad tape without Dolby !!)

I don't have one of these for my iPod, but i do have a Sirius receiver that transmits via FM.
There IS a volume loss, and I have found no way to fix it. I think it's just degredation based on a low power FM transmitter.
The same goes for the background noise. You are using low power FM frequency to transmit to a station that could have another transmission near it on the dial. This would cause your background noise. You would need to find a completely DEAD frequency, with no other stations next to it to totally eliminate background noise. Good luck finding that on the crowded FM dial.
the only way to get really good sound would be to have a AUX interface installed in your car. Places like Circuit City can do this if there is an interface compatible with your car head unit.

EDIT: I see you are in Hong Kong...you most likely don't have Circuit City Try any electronics store, they should be able to tell you if your car stereo has a compatible AUX interface.

I try and edit photos, in Iphoto, but how do i edit a photowith out it geting rid of the orginal?

Hi Robbin,
When you edit in iPhoto, iPhoto saves the original in an originals folder and the edits are made on a copy. You can always revert back to the original by control clicking on the image and scrolling to "revert to original"
If you want to see both the original and the edited version in the library, duplicate the original and edit the duplicate image.

MacBook Pro: I have changed my old apple id address but cannot now update apps as it sees my old apple id name as the primary holder. I decided to edit back to the old apple id but it won't allow me to do so. What else can I do?

Thank you for the question. Use these steps to change the Apple ID signed into the iTunes Store:
Sign in with a different Apple ID
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
Tap your Apple ID.
If you see the option to Sign In, you can change your Apple ID now.
Tap Sign Out.
Enter your Apple ID and Password and tap Sign In.
Or if you don't have another Apple ID, tap Create New Apple ID.

When external speakers are plugged in to headphone jack, sound randomly goes back to internal speakers or digital audio setting, then back again

I have an essentially new MacBook Pro with Lion and all updates applied, and am wondering if this is a hardware or software problem. Essentially with something plugged into the headphone jack, things work as they are supposed to for a while, then the sound will switch back to internal speakers, or sometimes 'digital out' (I can watch it change in the system settings), and then often switch back. It doesn't seem to follow any sort of pattern or be related to any specific application that could be open, and happens with different sources of audio (iTunes, streaming from the web), and different external speakers or headphones plugged in.

Sounds hardware related. If it's brand new, and you're still under warranty I would have it checked out.
I have not experienced this on my computer.
As I understand it, you have analog RCA outputs from an 1/8" to left and right RCA outputs. when you're randomly using the computer, it'll switch to internal speakers, then to digital audio, back to your stereo analog external speakers.
This should not be happening and if it's happening with streaming content (I am unaware of anything that streams in 5.1 digital audio) then this must be something that an apple specialist should look at and consider.
Does this happen with the headphone jack out? when you hold your finger over the headphone jack area does a red beam come out of it *blinking* or just on? This will be a good indicator that your audio hardware is faulty. are you running HDMI out?

Adjusting sound in iPad separately?

I have ought iPad 3 recently. The thing I noticed is that when I use physical buttons to adjust sound, it sets only sound for media (music, movies), but not for the effects (keyboard clicks etc).
If I go to the settings - general - sounds and turn on set sound effects with buttons, physical controls work only for effects, but not for the music.
Is it possible to control all the sounds and music with physical controls altogether?

I have the iPad2 and it is not only annoying, it is plain stupid and confusing. OK I understand having different volume levels for different things, but why can't we adjust them in settings?
Settings only has one volume control, which I assume is for media (except media embedded in webpages). Sound effects have their own volume control that you can't knowingly get to for adjustment, unless you are trying to adjust Media volume of an embedded web video only to find that you can't!!!!!
WTH, who designs this stuff and thinks this is great! It's a feature! I don't need the ipad to be smart about volume settings, because it ends up being really, really stupid as a result. If we're going to have three volumes, what we need is three volume sliders in settings, a main volume for media on the device, a sound effects volume for notifications, and a web-media volume so I can play youtube videos without them blasting noise when I KNOW I MUTED MY DEVICE!!!!!

Do a Hard Reset
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

If the sound is still the same, but ok, coming from the bottom Dock connector, then try cleaning the headport, using a jet of air or some electronic cleaner.
