Adjust windows vanshes

nearly out of reach to the left of my screen. Just a very tiny stripe of that window stays visable and then I can get it with my mouse and drag that window back in sight.
It happens every time I reopen iPhoto and want to adjust a picture. At fisrst I didn't see that happen and just thought that iPhoto didn't react any more, especially where I have my dock also on the left side and the helpscreen just went bhind the dockicons. I had to make the dock invisible with Apple/Alt D and then I discovered that very small stripe left of my adjust window.
Has anybody seen this also and find a cure for it?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try closing iPhoto and deleting its preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. That should reset the default location for those windows.

Why doesn't my image open up in the filter pop up adjustment windows?

I'm new to CS4, I just installed it and picked an image to try a few things with. When I open up any of the filter windows (for sharpening and others etc) my image does not open up in the adjustment window. Any idea why that is happening? Did I miss something when I installed the program? Is there a setting that should be set and isn't? I have Vista on my lap top, and XP-SP3 on my desktop, and it is the same in both. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is the image an 8-bit RGB Jpeg?
(Check in Image > Mode.)

Edit a photo Adjust window no longer floats

The Edit/Adjust window used to be movable, but now it's integrated into the edit window. This prevents the user from seeing Info about a photo at the same time as editing it.
So if you want to look at the photo info, it's hidden under the immovable Adjust window. Info used to be on the lower left of the Library window, and the Adjust window was floating, so it could be placed anywhere you wanted to place it, including on a second monitor.
But now with the Adjust window fixed, it interferes with my work.
This is a regression.

Haucke, the behaviour is this:
if you want to edit a raw file in PS and the ACR version in PS is the same as the version in Lr that you are sending from the raw will be opened directly in PS with no prompts with Lightroom settings applied. It will be saved from PS as a TIFF or PSD as your preferences are made.
A non raw file will have the prompt for a new file with edits or the original.
So from what I understand you say you are seeing, Lightroom and PS are working as designed.
You can see from my screen shot here how this DNG is rendered from Lr into PS as a DNG.....

How do I get rid of the adjust window in iphoto. It is stuck there and it won't go away.

How do I get rid of the 'adjust' window on my photo. I click on the x and it does nothing. Is it hung? I thought apple didn't hang.

Close iPhoto and do the following: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Can i customize the adjustment window in aperature

1. Can I customize the Adjustment window so that I don't have to go to "Add adjustment" for each picture to add crop, etc?
2. Can I customize the settings in the adjustment window so they are fixed for each picture?

You can add each adjustment to the default set from the gears-icon in the adjustment brick.

You can define a set of adjustment as a custom preset:
Use the command "Effects > SAve as Effect" to save a group of adjustments as a custom effect:

Vanishing Video Adjustment window

My iMovie app no longer opens the control window (with brightness, contrast, exposure, color temp, etc. sliders and the histogram) when the "adjust video" button or keyboard shortcut "v" is pressed. The eye-dropper cursor does appear. It looks as if the adjustment app is running, but there is just no way to control it. Have checked to make sure the control window isn't just hidden or off the edge of the display. Can't see a preference or setting that is wrong. Reinstalling iMovie from the original iLife DVD doesn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm having the exact same issue. I have an external display so I thought that maybe the adjustment windows were hidden somewhere off screen but I can't find them. I've tried hooking up and unhooking the external display but nothing works.
If anyone has a solution to this problem let me know.

Audio adjustment window disappeared

i have been working in imovie '08 and one day my audio adjustment window was there and the next it wasn't. Any ideas? i am a rookie and honestly don't know much about this computer, so any help would be great! thanks!

The only thing I had done right before this issue arose was this:
As this was clearly becoming large project I bought a 2TB RAID drive to dedicate to it. The entire project was on a smaller, more congested drive. I hooked up the RAID and moved the entire project over to it. I changed no file names and FCP was not running when I did it. I put the original Events/Project folders in a new folder so as not to confuse FCP when I relaunched it. FCP itself and all its ancillary files remained in place on my system drive.
When I opened FCP everything was fine and I even did some work on the project. It wasn't until I stepped away from it and then returned that I lost first the audio meters, then the scrubbing buttons and now--new revelation--many clips in the Events library claim to be missing. It's as tho this project is slowly, incrementally dissolving!
An odd twist: I just switched back to the original version of this project thru the various folder swaps necessary and the job, its cilps and the audio functions are back in place. Can't understand this. The Project/Events folders of the respective versions have identical contents. (except for that small bit of work I did right after the move)
At present, the audio functions have returned in full but the clips remain reported as missing. As a side note, another major ongoing project, the folders/files of which were not touched, remain fully functional in FCP.
I'm at a loss.

How do I change my adjustment window preference?

My window looks like the image on the right, and I want it to look like the image on the left. (I cannot figure out how to use it when it looks like the right image.) I need to see all of the different adjustment sliders all at once.

Click the little switch thingie at the right end of the line that starts "Effect:".

When I open a text file, its window is not too wide and I have to adjust it every time. Is there a way to make Mavericks to remember the last size of the window?

Limited Options in Audio Adjustment Window - No Ducking???

Okay.... So I just want to do some simple ducking. I click on my audio clip, I click on Adjust Audio and a window opens, but it's not the same window that I see in the video tutorials. All I get is the audio level adjustment and the option to normalize. No ducking, no fade in, no fade out.
I attempted the moving of the com.apple.imovie7.plist file to my desktop, but nothing changes.
What gives? Is there something I have to do to enable this feature?

I gave that a shot as well. When clicking the audio icon on the video clip I get the same limited window. Only has volume control and normalize and remove normalization.
Any other ideas? This is confounding me!

Help adjusting window component

Hello,
In Mac OSX when a new folder is created and opened, there is the toolbar at the top, the part of the window which displays its contents and the part to the right that shows the volumes connected to the Mac and some other icons, what is that part called?
How can I compose an AppleScript to adjust the width of that part?
(set toolbar visible of window 1 to false is not what I want).

Thanks, but it does not work with a small number like 0 everytime, only sometimes on (Mac OSX 10.4).
Apparently on 10.5 the sidebar cannot be of width 0.
Any modificatiuons?

Adjusting timezone is not adjusting windows date taken field?

I ran a date adjust
and it is not matching up with the windows date taken field under properties.
Where is this value coming from and why does it not match?

Basically it shows correctly in photoshop but in any other program it added 3 hours instead of decreasing 3 hours........

Adjust window size to browsers

I've read the FAQ on this matter and it's not helping me. I haven't done a web site in a while. I was taught to make everything 580 pixels wide.
I want my website to adjust to the window size of the browser, but it's not happening. I made a table like the FAQ showed how and it does expand and contract to the size of my window. When I put the contents of my website in this cell it just stays the same. The cell it's placed in conforms to the size of the window.
I'm wondering if it;s possible how I can get all the contents of the web site to do the same. Hope someone understands this.

What exactly do you want to happen? Can you picture it in your mind, then describe it? (And 580 is very small, these days).
On the other hand your contents is nicely centred on the page, I think it looks fine as it is. If you sized your main table as a percentage, cells ditto, it would all spread out horizontally to fill up the space, but I think it looks better gathered together in the middle as it is.
The image on the home page looks a bit lost but after that it works OK.

How to adjust windows in Skype while using 8.1 Pro...

I want to minimize Skype while working in other apps and receive notificaations when I have messages or calls. I have only full window for skype available???

Iphoto 5-only part of Adjust window showing

I installed iphoto 5 on my G3 ibook and surprisingly it performs pretty well there despite not much memory. However, when I go to edit a photo and click the "adjust" icon, when it pops up only the Contrast and Brightness sections appear. Everything under that is missing. Any clues as to why this is happening and how to make the complete edit menu appear? Thank you

the extra adjust features are not available on G3 computers. G4 and above is required for the extra features.
