Adjusting bass/treble for Thunderbolt display speakers?

My new refurbished Thunderbolt display speakers cut out higher range of speaking voices. I had to return to using the Retina MacBook Pro speakers to hear a conversation over Skype. Is there a way to adjust the bass/treble balance?

No way with any stock software.  Not sure if any third party software will work.  However I have no issues with voice quality but I do not use Skype.

  • Static from thunderbolt display speakers?

There is a lot of static from thunderbolt display speakers - this monitor is brand new, so can't be worn out... Anything to fix it?

I have a similiar problem in that my TB display makes a hissing whenever there is some type of connection between the MBP and the display.  It can be so noisy that I have to disconnect the $900 display.  Apple doesn't seem to care that it's customers have this problem as they've yet to provide a fix.  On one thread I saw they made someone pay $200 to fix the problem.

  • Unable to adjust bass/treble, and channels are coming out of both-Audigy SE model: SB0

Greetings. I just installed a fresh new copy of Windows XP Professional-- and decided it was a good idea to upgrade from my Li've! value from 999 to a better sound card...At least so?I hoped. I purchased this card from Wal-Mart the other night, and if it's anything like the other sound cards purchased at mega-retailers, I am going to be in for a huge headache, aren't I?Anyway, to the point:? When I run creative diagnostics, both the left, and the right channel, come out of the left and right, and right and left channel, respecti'vely... I can take one ear off left, and hear "left channel" in my right channel, and vice versa. Problem #2: I am unable to adjust my bass or my treble on the sound card. I checked the FAQ, but I didn't see anything terribly relevant, unless of course I am just blind. I look forward to any help I can get from you great peoples. Thank you for reading my message. What about the inability to adjust bass and treble? I google'd a bunch of different phrases about Audigy SE cards, and it seems they don't have that functionality. Am I missing something here?I installed the EAX control panel and that didn't help. Edit: Okay, so the left and right channel part is my problem-- but I have a headset by Sennheiser that has such a small headphone jack, it has to be halfway plugged into the sound card, in order for me to get full audio. I'll see if I can get that taken care of. The bass and treble still bother me though. Message Edited by Jaldarith on 2-07-200605:5 PM

  • I want 2 different layouts- 1 for Macbook and 1 for Thunderbolt display- is this possible?

I have 2 offices and a MacBook Pro w/ Retina.  I'd like to use the 27" Thunderbolt display but I don't want to be moving windows around based on if I use the Mac screen or the 27" screen- I want Mavericks to know that which screen I am using and for it to adjust accordingly.  I don't want to move things around everytime.  Is this possible?  thx

    Hi,
I think not. IDM generally saved the polled data in XMLDATA objects. SO it should work. You can raise a ORACLE Service request to get a confirmation

  • A free, simple undocking app for Thunderbolt Display (and non-thunderbolt) users...

If you are using a Thunderbolt display and have several external drives, it can be a pain to undock all of the external drives when you want to unplug the monitor. Here is a link to an app that can undock it for you. I've tested it on Lion. If you like it please leave a comment on the blog. Thanks!
    http://chompingatbits.com/2011/09/23/undocking-from-an-apple-thunderbolt-display /
Just download the app. Then run it anytime you want to eject all of your external drives.

Mini DisplayPort displays and adapters don't work directly with a Thunderbolt display, but will if you connect a Thunderbolt disk drive (with two Thunderbolt ports) between the Thunderbolt display and the Mini DisplayPort device.

  • Wall Mount For Thunderbolt Display

I am planning to buy an Apple 27" Thunderbolt display and mount it on a wall. I think I probably need to get the VESA Wall Mount adaptor to remove the display stand but I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations of a good VESA-compliant wall mount.  I am looking for something that will mount the display as flush as I can to the wall.  Thanks.

    No problem.

  • Wall extension cord for Thunderbolt Display

This may be a silly question, but I don't want to pay for not asking.  Can I use a wall extension cord with the Thunderbolt Display?  The power cord is a little short and I need to extend it a few feet.  I am not referencing the cords that connect to the laptop, but the cord that powers the display.

    No problem.

  • How do you adjust macbook to fill thunderbolt display?

What do I need to do to fill my Thunderbolt display? I hate wasting part of the display.

I set the resolutions, but while using Go to My PC I still have a lot of real estate above and below the useable screen.  Also, whenever I work on the MBA monitor, the TD display exits full screen, and I re-open it when I move the cursor back to the TD.  Is there any way to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks,  Tim

  • Thunderbolt Display Sound Adjustments?

Is it possible to adjust bass/trebble for the speakers in the Thunderbolt Display?  If so, where do I find that settings panel?
    Thanks!

    Not that I know of.

  • Individual Bass Control for Front/Rea

    Hey everyone!
I was wondering if it is possible to control the bass and treble settings for each output on my soundcard individually, ie: the front and rear speakers.
The reason I ask is because I have really nice speakers connected to the rear output, and really poor ones connected to the front output. The really nice speakers are home-made and hooked up to an amp, which is in turn connected to the rear output on the soundcard. The only problem is, the bass and treble settings (along with a few other things) are broken on the amp.
The front speakers are okay sounding normally... except now with the bass/treble broken on the rear speakers I must adjust bass/treble using AudioHQ, which makes my rear speakers sound great... (which is why I adjust them in the first place) but now my front speakers sound like s**t!! My rear speakers are far more important than the front but it is also important I have surround sound. (It might not be 5., but 4 channels is still surround sound!!)
The front speakers have limited bass control... but it only controls the bass for the sub, and when I adjust the bass in AudioHQ the sattelites become all distorted. I theorized the only way to fix this would be to get another amp or to find a program or utility that will let me adjust the bass and treble individually for each channel. Buying a new amp is not an option, which leaves me with the former. (I just don't have the money for a new amp, or front speakers for that matter)
    Please help! :S

    Bump. Anyone?

  • IMac and Thunderbolt display connectivity

    Hello everybody,
Several days ago I've bought new Thunderbold 27' display and connected it as a second screen to my iMac. Video works fine but I've just discovered that all ports of that display are not functioning, i.e. USB ports are not working, and I can't see its camera and speakers from my iMac.
Is it possible somehow to get it working? Especially USB would be very helpful.
    Thank you.

  • Thunderbolt Display turns off / flicker / very warm

My Thunderbolt Display 27 is connected to my MacBook Pro Late 2013. After a while it turns off, starting to flicker. Disconnecting from MacBook and reconnecting the Display works for a while again. Same problem I have with my older MacBook Pro. So I am sure its not a problem of my latest MacBook Pro.
I have tried to turn of power saving, automatically brightness adjustment, doesn't work.
The left backside of the Thunderbolt is really very warm. Maybe its a fan problem ? The Display is only two years old and I was expecting to use it at least for 6 years.
Current firmware for thunderbolt display is installed.
Is there any solution for that ?

  • Thunderbolt display firmware update 1.2 won't install correctly

On Friday 11/13/2014, I received a Software Update notification in OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 that there was an update available for "Thunderbolt Display Firmware Update 1.2". I tried installing this several times, but every time it tells me "The Thunderbolt Display Firmware Update could not complete." Now I have 6 failed install attempts showing in Software Update, plus still the still to be installed update itself.
If I click on the "More info" button in the failed installation message, it takes me to this page: About Thunderbolt Display Firmware Update 1.2 - Apple Support
On that page it suggest to check the "About this Mac" info for Thunderbolt Display, where "The Firmware Version should be 26.2 and the Port Micro Firmware Version should be 2.0.7 after the update."
My Thunderbolt Display is currently on Firmware Version 22.2, with Port Micro Firmware Version 0.0.21. Why won't this update install?

I had a similar problem: The "Thunderbolt display firmware update 1.2" kept reappearing in AppStore, even though the uppdate seemed successful.
According to Apple[1] the update was successful when the the Firmware Version is 26.2 and the Port Micro Firmware Version is 2.0.7 (visible in About this Mac -> SystemReport).
Above versions were correct in my case, but the update still kept appering in AppStore... (probably I did download and install the update manually after the first failure, but I don't remember ...)
To get rid of the annoying update in AppStore I used the softwareupdate command[2] on the commandline:
        softwareupdate --ignore TBdisplayFWUpdate1.2

  • Thunderbolt Display turns off randomly

I have a new Mac Mini 2011 i7 Quad CPU version.  I have a Thunderbolt 27 inch display.  I have found that the display randomly turns off and won't turn on when I use the keyboard or mouse.  This occurs when I am doing stuff on the machine, it is not a display sleep issue.  The first couple of times I had to use Remote Desktop to reboot the Mac Mini to fix the issue.  The last time it happened I removed the Thunderbolt plug from the Mac Mini and reinstalled it and this fixed the issue.  I have the latest software updates on the Mac Mini and the Thunderbolt Firmware update on the Display.
    I am running Lion 10.7.1

Well, i've just patched firmware update for Thunderbolt display from Apple customer support site. I'm sure you've done this already because it's dated 19, Sep. Well, I'll try to find the pattern anyway if the same thing happens again.
And, for your information, those happened while i was using 'Remote Desktop Connection' from MS-Office, which i set as expanded 'full screen', targeted Thun-di, (I've mentioned i'm using dual display, Dell 2311H and Thun-di above reply).
Plus, I found some interesting bug for the 'full screen feature' of RDC of MS-Office, which is sometimes got confusing which 'desktop' it should use. when i added one more desktop from 'Mission Control', ran RDC in full screen mode from 'desktop 2', it should just remained on 'desktop 2' when i switched to my original 'desktop 1'. But, when i did switch to 'desktop 1', RDC just switched to 'desktop 1' and remained in 'full screen mode'. I feel strange, 'cause the feature worked fine yesterday, but not today, and the 'Thun-di''s gone randomly.
Too many clues and multiple bugs appeared at the same time, made me confused, RDC of MS-Office, Lion, and Thun-di(oh, just added patch from Apple, TT)...
Wait for solution with fingers get crossed, haha...

  • Treble & Bass Controls For SoundMAX Sound Card?

Hi.  I have a T61 with a SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio sound card.  Just wondering if there is any way I can adjust the bass & treble controls.  I have confirmed I have the most recent drivers, and when I do Control panel > Hardware and Sound > Change System Sounds > Playback Tab > Highlight Speakers SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio and select Properties, I only have 3 tabs - General, Levels and Advanced, and none of them have anything about bass & treble.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi!
I just bought a used T60 also with a integrated Digital HD sound card. Sound/Audio is working. Problem is: The audiomixer shows control-sliders for Bass and Treble. But they are greyed out and both set to minimum. Result is: The audio sounds pretty low/poor - nearly unusable. To make it work I need a solution to increase the Treble Slider or the Treble itself to a higher value.I have confirmed I used the most recent drivers. OS is: Windows XP Prof Ver. 2002, SP3.
    Thanks in advance
    Josh
