Adjusting Bitmap color range
Hello everyone
I am currently using Labview ver 7.0. I currently have a bitmap picture of an AutoCAD drawing that I would like to edit programmatically. Basically I have some temperature sensors on my hardware and I would like to add a color range to a specific spot on my bitmap image. The way it would function is that as the temperature increased at the sensor, the color of that specific area in the bitmap would change color (yellow to red or something)
My thought right now is to possibly try and accomplish this with either custom shaped color boxes, or by creating sections on my drawing and being able to color each section separately (similar to how you can section a picture for website links).
The picture contains sections that a
re not square so a custom shape is best.
If I have been unclear or feel I have left something out please contact me and I will try to be more descriptive. Thanks
TK
This is an example of how to draw colors onto an image. it is very crude but you get the picture. HAHA. seriously. I think this will point you in the right direction. you can find everything you need on the grapics and sound pallette.if this does not help repost your question and I won't answer it.
Sorry I could not be of more help.
Joe.

Color Range command in Photoshop CS6 13.0.4 no longer works after update
I just updated to 13.0.4 at the end of last week. Today I went to use the Color Range command and it will not select any colors. The Eyedropper tool works fine. Adjusting the fuzziness and other options doesn't make a difference. Nor does selecting multiple instances of a color to add to the selection. Since I use this command regularly, I feel confident that it is a bug with the update and I would love to hear of any possible fixes. Or, is it possible to downgrade back to 13.0.3? I didn't realize how much I used this and it's a major inconvenience.

Some people, when encountering unexpected behaviour in Photoshop, seem overly prone to use the term »bug«.
Have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?
Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels and Dialogs visible? -
Color Range doesn't work correctly with latest update
as the title suggests, I'm having difficulty using the color range tool properly. It worked perfect just before the most recent update (13.1) and now works very strangely.
It seems to select whatever color it feels like except the one I need. And then it is very very selective if it will even select anything at all. I'm not sure how else to explain this so it is clearer and easier to be understood. I will post the System Info from Photoshop below.

Select the eyedropper tool on the Toolbar and on the options bar set the sample size to 3x3.
Activate the Color Range command. Activate the "selection" radio button and choose "none" in the selection preview. In the "select" box, choose "sampled colors".
Set a trial fuzziness of,say,50. Click with the eyedropper on a point in the midst of the color you want to select. That's your "base" color.
Then switch to the "Color Added" (plus) eyedropper, holding the left mouse button down while dragging it over areas deviating from the base color but which you want included.
If there are non-contiguous areas with still different colors you also want to include, release the mouse and move the cursor to those areas before dragging again.
All the while, keep an eye on the dialog box display which shows what you've selected, albeit crudely. If you pick up unwanted colors, switch to the "subtract from sample" (minus) eyedropper and drag it over those areas.
When you think you've got it about right, experiment with the fuzziness slider to see if you can improve things by increasing or decreasing fuzziness.
Don't re-use the plain eyedropper unless you want to start all over again. Optionally, instead of switching among the 3 eyedroppers, you can activate only the plain eyedropper but use it with SHIFT to add or ALT to subtract. -

Photoshop CS3 Color Range Problem
I am having an issue with the color range selection tool in Photoshop CS3 on an iMac G5 running Snow Leopard.
I've been using this tool for years and it's always worked properly until now. It no longer selects the color I've picked with the eyedropper. The only time it works properly is when I set the image to grayscale mode. In any other mode, it selects erratically, like the image below. Those are clean rectangles I created with the paint bucket, so I'm not sure where the lines selected in the Color Range view are coming from. Adjusting
"Fuzziness" doesn't help. The image is set to 8bits. Any ideas?
I've tried using the color range on another computer with the same settings and it works fine.Is the Eyedropper Tool set to Current Layer in the Options Bar?
If nothing else helps you can always try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed). -
Color Range Command | Understanding Adobe Photoshop CS6 | Adobe TV
The Color Range command is the best way to make a color-based selection. Build and adjust your mask and then use it to apply localized changes to your image.
http://adobe.ly/10e9p8YI cannot find Color Range under Select. Why isn't it there? Please help.

Hi
In the previous version of photoshop I was able to superimpose images of brightfield and darkfield insitu hybridization. I would adjust both images to same size and resolution. The darkfield image I would change the hue saturation to red so that now all the brighspots appeared red. Then I would open a new photoshop image and then drag the brightfield first into the new panel and then drag the red darkfield image on the brightfield. So now you can only see the red dark field layer on the top, THen using range I would select the bright red spots on the dark field and press delete. This would keep all the dark red spots on the brightfield image and all the other dark spots from the dark filed would disappear. This way I would superimpose all the brightest red spots from the dark field image on the brightfield image and this way I would get red signals on the bluish brightfiled image. I am unable to do this using photoshop on CS6. I am pasting the darkfiled image on the brightfield image (rather than dragging them) . Then using range when I choose the color range and then hit delete button I am unable to clear the unwanted dark field sections. Can anybody tell me what I should do on the new Adobe photoshop 6 (64 bits).
ThanksThat question may be better answered with a goolge search. It not something most Photoshop users would be doing. More science then normal image processing.

"Color Range" isn't even listed under "Select"?
"Color Range" isn't even listed under "Select"? I'm trying to isolate an image onto a white background, and the steps I'm following says
Select duplicated layer and go to Select > Color Range. Select white background with eye dropper and increase fuzziness to maximum amount.
BUT I don't even see that listed! There's a clever trick to simulate it in PSE (credit to Douglas Nelson - third reply at http://www.clearps.com/photoshop-forum/index.php/m/283867/.
Select the color you want to select with eyedropper
Make a new solid color layer filled with the eyedropper color
Set the blending mode of that layer to Difference (everything in your original the color of your eyedropper color will now be black)
Use a Threshold adjustment layer to expand or contract the area to be selected.
Use magic wand (low tolerance, contiguous off) to select black areas
There's your color selection. You can hide or delete the layers created for this procedure as long as you don't deselect, and you'll still have your selection active.
To avoid accidental deselection, save the selection frequently.
Cheers,

Select- Color Range- Results in Blue Screen (PC) (driver out of date)
I've been using the CS6 beta about two days. While experimenting with color range I experienced two consecutive blue screen crashes. The first time it happened,I was working with the color range selector and was replacing the selected areas with another color using the paint bucket. About the third time I attempted this, my PC blue screened. The second time, I opened a photo, went to Select>Color Range and got an immediate blue screen crash.
I then went back to CS5 and I've been playing with the same scenario with no apparent problems.
My PC is a store built computer. It consists of an MSI 990-FXA GD80 motherboard, an AMD Phenom 1100t CPU, Asus GTX550 Ti graphics card and 8 gig of RAM. It boots from a 60 gig SSD and my programs reside on a 500 gig hard drive. The OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. CS6 is using the hard drive for its scratch disk and Photoshop is using 4339 mb of the 7232 mb of available RAM - I haven't changed that. I'm running CS6 as administrator because the way it installed, it would only run in that fashion.
One disappointment during the installation was CS6 made no attempt to read my preferences from the CS5 install. That may be covered in another post, I've not yet looked.
Please keep us informed as new betas are released, because I would like some time to work with this puppy before plunking down big bux for the upgrade. As it is now, I'm going back to CS5. I get mighty nervous when my super computer blue screens!

gswetsky AT bellsouth DOT netThe GPU is often at root of issues like yours. I've had so many problems with Nvidia drivers for their gaming-oriented adapters (like yours) that I finally went with one of their workstation cards. I have a Quadro card with just enough RAM to make Photoshop happy. The workstation drivers are optimized for reliability, the consumer card drivers are optimized for gaming and that often means they're less stable and reliable with Photoshop.

Can I adjust the color balance in Facetime?
The color balance of my image when I am using Facetime on my iPad 2 is so bad that I would rather use Skype- it is extremely yellow and makes a very unflattering image of me. Is there anyway to adjust the color balance to have more natural tones while using Facetime?
None that I'm aware of.

Hi there,
I'm trialling Photoshop Elements and wanting to use a black and white (grey scale) layer that I've made as a mask in another layer and don't know how to do it in Elements. In Photoshop, I'd do this (there maybe a better way in PS to do it, but I haven't discovered it yet)...
Click the layer i've created that I intend to use as a mask
Select All
Copy
select layer that I want the mask to be applied to
click the Add Layer Mask button (at the bottom of the Layers window)
click the mask icon so it is highlighted (and the image isn't)
switch to Channels view
highlith the Layer Mask beneath the R,G,B layers and make it visible
Paste
make it invisible again
switch back to layers.
This works and retains the full range of transparency for semi transparency and soft edges of the mask etc.
Alternatively, I can select a Color Range, but that doesn't seem to be available in PS Elements.
So, how do I achieve the same result in PS Elements?
Thanks for your help
JonnoPerfect! Thanks very much R_Kelly. That does exactly what I was hoping to do.

Color Range doesn't work properly in CS3
Hi there,
I have a problem with CS3. Since a few weeks I can't use properly "Colour Range" feature.
Especially for bright colour the Colour Range doesn't select what I want to select. For example I want to select a bright cloud and can't select it with Colour Range. Of course I checked if there is any information or I have a burn area.
I use several different setting but I still have the problem.
I used 8/16 bit, Adobe RGB/sRGB
At Colour Range I use:
- Sampled colours
- Selection
- Fuzziness: how much I need it
- Selection preview: None
I need help...
ThanksPossibly you are missing something in the way you apply this command. Here's how I use it to select patchy clouds with ragged edges and continuously varying shades of gray:
Is there a way to adjust the color of the Finders file labels?
is there a way to adjust the color of the Finders file labels?
Apple has never been good with themes or finder preferences or anything like that. From a marketing and business point of view in the past I would guess they think consistency and therefore exerted brand loyalty outweighs customization, and anyone who really wants to get their own experience will be on linux anyways.
Nowadays coverflow, expose, smartfolders, aliases and spotlight reduce the need to differentiate between multiple files on the system by a seperate indicator and a colour. -
Is there any software for iTunes that allows the user to adjust tint, color and hue?
I would like to view my videos with the ability to fine tune color (hue, tint and color) for playback, Any one know a easy quick fix?
Thank You Keith for responding. I am asware of the options in the drop down list in iTunes "Show in Finder" to use OT and its options to adjust tint, color, contrast etc, etc., I was more interested if the same thing can be can done in iTunes it's self? Do you know of a plugin or a simple script that might help me? ( I do not know apple script very well but if it is well written i can fallow instructions pretty good.)

For some reason, "HSL" is gone from my develop panel. I used to be able to adjust specific colors (blues, greens etc) for saturation, luminance and so on. But that option is now gone from my develop panel. How do I get it back?
Right-click the title bar of any of the panels in the righthand column of the Develop module (for example, the Basic panel) and choose "Adjustments" from the panel list that appears.

I wish that Safari RSS behaved like Firefox. I feel that Safari RSS is sort of redundant and not informative, as clicking it takes you to a new page of the RSS clips. I might as well just go to the website itself. Also the # of new feeds is irrele
