Adjusting the equalizer?

The original pair of headphones that came with my iPod were recently damaged, so I purchased the In-Ear headphones made for the iPod. To my dismay, I found the sound with these new headphones was different than what I was expecting. I won't say the quality of the sound is bad, but different than my originals and the speakers on my computer.
However, just as a test, I plugged these new headphones into my computer to listen to the sound, and was able to improve it to my tastes with the equalizer, but I don't think my settings are being saved to my iPod. So what I'm asking is, is it possible to adjust the equalizer or even create a new equalizer setting that will appear on the iPod? I see in iTunes that you can change a song's preset Equalizer setting, and was planning to adjust all the songs in my library individually. If anyone can help me with this it will be greatly appreciated.

I just got a brand new macbook pro, and was really dissapointed with the audio coming out of the speakers. My last laptop was also a macbook pro from three years ago, and that one had way better speakers. I'm hearing way too much high mids, and very little bass coming out of the speakers on this one, and it's really really noticeable. I know the speakers on these aren't supposed to be amazing, but the huge difference from the last generation of macbook pros makes me wonder if there's just something wrong with my new computer... Does anyone know if there's any way to adjust this, or can anyone at least confirm that the speakers are just way worse than the last generation?

All the laptops have poor sound, not surprising really considering the half inch speakers driven by less tha 2W, spend any amount you like on an external pair, even the cheapest will outperform the internals.

How to change the equalizer settings in iPod Shuffle 4th generation?

Hi, i own iPod shuffle 2nd and 4th generation. I used to use Sony and sennheiser earphones to listen to them. The problem is I cant get the maximum performance of the earphones on my iPod, unlike in laptop. It is because I can't adjust the Mid, Bass, and treble level in Shuffle. Does anyone knows how to change its equalizer settings?

You can't there are no equalizer settings on the Shuffle. Incidentally, if you are just wanting to boost the bass that is not getting the most performance from your headphones that is just making the bass abnormally loud.

This is my first go at this so be kind,
My question concerns launchpad. Coming from Snow Leopard I had been using spaces. I like to keep certain bundles of programs on separate desktops, for example all word processing related tasks in one place. I have set up the equivalent on Yosemite.
My problem is concerns the loss of exposé. Now I know when you swipe into launch pad you get a very similar effect but the issue I am having concerns the "zoom out" effect when you swipe into launchpad. With exposé all open apps/pages etc would be fully exposed - in my case several (sometimes as many as 9 word documents). What I am running into is when I do this in / into launch pad the "pile" of docs is exposed but they are still overlapping so I can't get a good look at which is which and visually identify where I want to navigate to.
My question is this; Is there a way to adjust the settings on launchpad so that when I swipe into it all the open apps/pages are fully separated (like in exposé) so that I can fully view all of them simultaneously? If so, instructions on how to do so would be greatly appreciated. Any alternative suggestions to doing this outside of launchpad are also welcome. If there is an exposé app for example, I would be quite willing to go that route.
My main concern is being able to quickly (ie a touchpad gesture) expand all the open pages so I can bounce between them.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

I can not adjust the calendar in profilemanager

I can not adjust the calendar in profilemanager, in group settings, try to create a profile to calendar automatically adjusts for each user when it is installed on the client machine fails (failed). If the profile is set manually, the message - "The Calendar Account payload could not be installed. An attempt to create the account securely failed"

I think it might be becasue the Profile Distribution Type in the General payload is set to "Automatic Push" and you have an incorrect password for the calendar account. Try switching the Profile Distribution Type to Manual Download and leavign the password blank so the user has to enter it when they try to add it.
There's a weird thing where the calendar password field becomes "required" in Automatic Push mode in which case not only must there be characters entered in the field but the password must be correct for it to work. Not great for a profiel intended for more than one person.

No clue why the final processes have suddenly started to take so long. Two things I'd try: a) capture from an older tape to see if some problem with the new tape is at fault. And b) check the health of your RAM and the hard drive.
The red frame sounds a bit like a glitch we used to have in OnLocation (actually in its predecessor HDV Rack) which was caused by a partial GOP. But that was a product of HDV Rack recording from the live video stream. It turned out that HDV cameras intentionally interrupt the data stream for an instant upon starting to record--specifically to avoid recording a partial GOP to tape. So my gut says that the tape has partial GOPs at the points where you stopped/started recording.

I have docs that I have edited in Word for Mac.
In windows, I used to be able to easily press Print, PDF, then choose the level of PDF I wanted.
Now. I hit print, PDF, then Save PDF As, etc.
Result:
1. Tells me "The borders of Section 1 are outside the printable boundaries. Do you want to continue"
I have gone back and done everything I can think of, but it still will not include a slither of the bottom portion of each page of the completed PDF. Seriously ***? Why not at least prompt me on how to fix this.
2. The resulting PDF is 14.5 MG. The original Word doc was weighing in at 2.5. Why is it making my doc bigger?? Despite continual searching, I can not find how I adjust the PDF settings to make it a light, emailable PDF. If I choose Send PDF as email, the result is the same. A big 14 MG file. This is driving me insane.
I can not now use my mac to do the most simple, yet urgently necessary task I must often do, which is create a doc, pdf it and email it.

I have a ringtone that works great on my computer but the volume is very soft on the phone. I have adjusted the volume on the phone but the ringtone volume is still too low. Is there any way to adjust the volume of a ringtone?

I have managed to sync a ringtone to my ne i phone 5C but the volume is way too soft.
The sound is great on my computer but hard to hear at all on the phone. I have tried turning up the volume button on the phone but it doesn' do anything for the ringtone. EDIT: Also in System Preferences > Sound > Input > you can select the input & adjust the volume accordingly as long as it's plugged in.

How can we adjust the width of a column in a report.
We have a report with around 10 columns.
out of the 10 columns 1 column has a width of 500 char..
we want to display only the first 150 chars of that column with 50 char on first line,next 50 on second line and last 50 on third line.
i have tried using the the substr and <br> in the region source but it takes 3 lines by default even if it is not of 150 chars .I want to display it in 3 columns if it of 100+ chars.

Hi,
Using the col tag is the more proper way of fixing the width of a column.
If you don't want to use the col tag, you should change your expression to:
<table style="width:500px">
Firstly, you should use the unit of length (ie, "px") for any non-zero value and secondly because we are being encouraged to use the style attribute whenever possible as, as I understand it, this will become the standard.

I have the BOSE Companion 5 speakers and have had the same problem. I've searched everywhere and gotten nowhere. My speakers are way past their warranty, so calling Bose would probably get me no where either. Only thing I can think of is that the speakers overheat which causes the spikes in the volume. I've tried unplugging them for a few minutes and then plug them back on. The problem does go away, but after about 5 minutes, same problem.

Daytime sequences look muddy, and night time sequences are incomprehensible with anything but the brightest objects rendered as black. I've tried adjusting the gamma. It's a bit better when gammas is set to 1.0, but I can't seem to set a gamma less than one. I tried using the Accessibility Contrast control, but it just lowers the contrast, swallowing my desktop into the dark abyss. I tried Applecare, but they don't have a clue. I tried the Apple Store. The "genius" confirmed that it is indeed impossible to watch movies shot anywhere but in the brightest sunlight on a MacBook Pro Retina, and it isn't just my machine, but every similar model in the store. He arranged for someone who really understands color profiles to give me a call, but Apple seems to have dropped the ball on this.
Is there some tool for stretching out the darker grays in Apple video? I don't want calibration. My impression is that my display, like the dozens I checked at the Apple Store are calibrated to make all dimmer grays appear completely black. I want uncalibration so I can actually see what is going on in the movies even if something is in a light shadow or shot at night. Hollywood has lots of trained technicians who can light and shoot night scenes that are quite comprehensible. I've watched a number of such scenes on my old MacBook Air. Now, I'd like to enjoy their artistry on my MacBook Pro Retina.

Yes, I was using iTunes to sync over cable without problems since orinigal purchase in 2011 and using 10.6 w/o problem. There was an "update" in Nov 2012 that crashed the sync service. I went to the Apple Store and reviewed the problem with the Geniuses there. It was discovered at that time that the update included mandated use of iCloud but enough of the un-updated code remained that he was able to patch functions to allow Microsoft Office to still sync over iTunes.
This March (+/-) there was another "update" to 10.6 that totally destroyed the patch that was in place so there was no sync service available between Microsoft and iTunes what-so-ever. Then recently, because of some unknown process, all my notes, contacts, and calendars were erased in both my Apple utilities and Microsoft utilities.
After many hours of frustration I was able to recover most of the information to the Apple utilities only, but those were unstable. At my visit to the Apple store it was suggested that an upgrade to 10.8 might solve the stability problem. That it did but being connected to the iCloud all the time keeps using up all my Internet time and I have nothing left to check emails or do research.
This, to me, is not my problem but one created by Apple. I have searched the Internet and support groups and there doesn't seem to be a solution.
The "aircraft mode" turns off all other communication functions and is not acceptable. Neither is disconnecting/turning off Airport on my MBP.

I have an HP Officejet 4500 all-in-one printer and a new HP pavilion Slimline computer. Since I changed to this computer, my printouts have very small font size making them hard to read. How can I adjust the font size of the printout? Is it a computer or printer function? I appreciate the help.

I, too, am frustrated. This seems like something that would easily be handled within the application software. However, none of the fixes I've been offered have been very helpful. My cousin sugested using Control C and Control V to move the text to WORD. Once in WORD, you can manipulate the text on a WORD page...sometimes. I've had good and bad luck with this method. When I use my remote to start a movie on iTV it starts a different movie on my MacBook, plus if I use the arrow up or down on my remote it adjusts the sound on my MacBook. How do I stop this?

I am using 2nd generation Apple TV and have a MacBook Pro. When I use my remote to start a movie on iTV a different movie starts on my MacBook. Also when I use the up and down arrows on the remote it adjusts the sound on my MacBook. Is this something I have to live with, or is there something I can do so the remote control doesn't affect my laptop?
