Adjusting the Size of the Text in the Preview Window in RH8

Hello, Everyone!
I am new to the forum, but I've been lurking for a while.
We have upgraded from RoboHelp 7 to RoboHelp 8, and I have encountered some conversion issues. The primary layout type of the project is Microsoft HTML Help.
First, the text in the preview window is extremely small -- much too small to be useful to these old eyes. Has this changed in RoboHelp 8? Is there a setting somewhere that enables me to bump up the size of the preview text?
Also, I am encountering a number of spacing issues, including:
Extra space after an em dash (no spaces in version 7)
No space after a colon (there was a space in version 7)
Bullets display as numbers in the preview window, but seem to be OK in "live" version (bullets were fine in version 7)
Finally, we want to make this an AIR application, but the AIR option isn't available in the Single Source Layouts area for this project. When I create a new project, the AIR option is there. What am I missing?
Can anyone offer suggestions as to how I can fix these things? (I am not an "under the hood" kind of guy, so please don't assume I know a lot about the guts of RoboHelp.)
Thanks for any help you can offer!
clintfan

Hi there
When you examine the Single Source Layouts pod (View > Pods > Single Source Layouts) do you see AIR Help? If not, try right-clicking the pod and you should be able to define a new layout for AIR.
Cheers... Rick

  • HT2523 Is there a way to increase the size of textedit text on the screen without increasing the font size? (as can be done in WORD for MAC)

In Microsoft Office for Mac WORD I can make text appear larger on the monitor screen without increasing the font size for printing purposes.  I have not been able to figure out if/how this can be done in TextEdit.  In TextEdit, if I set the font size to between 10 and 12, the text appears very small on the screen.  But if I increase the font size, the font size will be way too large when I print such a document.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply and suggestion.
Actually after I posted my question, I saw link to Text Edit viewable font, which pointed out the small up and down arrows in the lower right corner of the Text Edit screen.
However, it is also good to keep in mind the Universal Access options.

  • Global change to the size of a text frame in InDesign 5.5?

Is there a way to make a global change to the size of a text frame in InDesign 5.5? I just laid out a book and the size needs to go up half an inch.

If you have worked properly and have done following:
Set up Masters with margins and columns,
Aligned all text frames with the margins,
    Turned on Layout Adjustment,
You will only change the margins on the Master and it will change every page.
    If not …
you have to do it manually.

Is it possible to change the size of a text field depending on the amount of text in the field?

I recently upgraded to Yosemite. Yesterday when I opened up the iPhoto (which I have it in my external drive due to the size of file) I get the message that it is not compatible with the new system(or something like that) and ask me to upgrade so I did. Then another message pops ups and asked for rebuilding the Thumbnails. So I clicked rebuild. Next it asked me to do one of three things(I can't remember all of them) so I chose the last one which is to download a photo to iPhoto. Now I only have that photo I downloaded in iPhoto file but not the rest of my pictures. The iPhoto library which is stored in my EHD shows it has 349GB but it only show one thumbnail of the last picture I downloaded after the rebuild process. What can I do to recover the rest of the file?

    Hi,Swing Gurus
    I am developing a swing-based program using JBulider5 enterprise.
It seems to me that the GridBagLayout is really a hard nut!
How can I control the size of a cell in the GridBagLayout?
It seems that I cann't control the size of a cell directly.
But how the size of a particular cell is determined when I switch the layout manager from XYLayout to GridBagLayout?

  • My iPhone 5 only display the apple screen with text on the top (like a command prompt). Has anyone else seen this???

I was checking my mail and suddenly i get the apple screen with text on the top (like a command prompt). It won't receive phone calls and it doesn't respond to anything. I tried to force shutdown, reset, etc and nothing happened... Now the screen changed to vertical gray lines. I'm attaching a picture of both screen displays. Someone please help!!!!!

Try a reboot by holding both the power and ome buttons until the apple logo appears.  If that does not bring it back, take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test it.

  • Increasing the size of designated text area in a photo book

I am using IPhoto version 9.5.1 on a MacBook Pro (10.9.2). I am trying to increase the designated text area so that I can increase the font size. This will allow for the final product to be more legible. Currently, I am featuring a student per page. The designated text areas are 4 separate sections on these pages.  I would like to include on each page the following.
    Aviator
    Person's Name
    Algebra I
    Homecoming Dance
When I increase the font size in those 4 designated areas, the red caution triangle with exclamation point states, 'This text doesn't fit the designated text area!'
    I have two questions.
    1. How do I increase the text area so the larger text will fit and print properly?
    2. Is there an overall command that I can input these increases to the text area so that the 36 papes have the same changes in the designated text areas? Otherwise, I will have to make those changes for each individual pages that are featuring a student.

You can "adjust" a photo frame or text box size on a page with the following key combinations:
Command + Option +⬆arrow:  increase frame height.
Command + Option +⬇arrow:  decrease frame height.
Command + Option + ➜ arrow:  increase frame width.
Command + Option + ⬅ arrow:  decrease frame width.
To adjust its position on the page use these key combinations:
Command + Control + ➜ arrow:  move frame to right.
Command + Control + ⬅  arrow:  move frame to left.
Command + Control + ⬆ arrow:  rotate frame counter clockwise.
Command + Control + ⬇ arrow:  rotate frame clockwise.
You can conver the standard frame (on the left) to this one (on the right)
Always be sure to create a PDF file of the book for proofing before ordering a book. This Apple document describes how to create the PDF file: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture. Keep the PDF file to compare it with the printed copy when it arrives.
If you have Pages you can easily create custom book pages as images and add them to a 1 photo per page layout by following this tutorial: iP11 - Creating a Custom Page, with the Theme's Background for an iPhoto Book

  • How to calculate the size of a Text Field?

Is there a way to calculate the number of characters allow in a Text Field? If a uer type over this number of characters a popup window will appear telling the user that he/she has too much texts. Of course I could use the Limit Length, but I have to manually put texts into this text field and count them. If the Limit Lenth number is too small, the texts does not fill the whole text field. If the number is too big then the texts does not get printed.

There would be no easy way to do this. You'd need to do some pretty fancy calculations, it would all depend on the size of the field, what font is used, the font size, whether it's been bolded, underlined, italicized, etc etc.
What are you trying to accomplish? Make it so that the user can type in the text field until it fills and then have it stop without scroll bars coming up to allow him to keep typing?
