Adjusting the width of a website

I notice that my website (listed below) has borders and appears much thinner than other web sites. I want to utilize ALL the space possible. What is the best width setting so that my website appears to take up the full screen (like amazon's).
Is this possible in I-Web?
Thanks!

www.lisasandlerdesign.com. This is several years old and uses an older version of iweb. Planning on redesigning and updating this summer.
the other one is for an X-rated client and I don't think it would be appropriate to post here
But look at the link a few clicks down where it says post your websites built with iweb. there are a bunch there.
Not sure it's the best idea making the whole page in photoshop. My background is graphic design and photoshop but I don't think you want to place a 300 dpi image at 8.5 x 11 in iweb. Personally I would build in iweb and add jpegs separately. If you want to change something on the page you don't want to have to redo the whole thing in photoshop. Also your type will not be searchable that way with a flat jpeg for each page.
A bunch of sites for you to check out...

  • How do I adjust the width of a spry tab container without affecting others on website?

I have a spry tab container with 3 tabs and I want to add more width to the container as a whole, but when I change the width in the CSS styles panel, it affects all the containers on my site. How can I make a change that only affects the one container I'm working on? Thanks!

    No problem. Here you go.
    http://victorylcms.org/newsite/recipes.html
As you can see, I have it as two separate spry tabs. I want one that goes the width of the page, but if I change the width it affects the other spry tab I have here.

I know how to add more tabs, I just don't know how to adjust the width on the top container only.

  • Adjust the width of a column in a report.

    Hi,
How can we adjust the width of a column in a report.
We have a report with around 10 columns.
out of the 10 columns 1 column has a width of 500 char..
we want to display only the first 150 chars of that column with 50 char on first line, next 50 on second line and last 50 on third line.
i have tried using the the substr and <br> in the region source but it takes 3 lines by default even if it is not of 150 chars .I want to display it in 3 columns if it of 100+ chars.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Using the col tag is the more proper way of fixing the width of a column.
If you don't want to use the col tag, you should change your expression to:
    &lt;table style="width:500px"&gt;
Firstly, you should use the unit of length (ie, "px") for any non-zero value and secondly because we are being encouraged to use the style attribute whenever possible as, as I understand it, this will become the standard.

  • I can no longer adjust the width of the Bookmarks Sidebar, how do I fix this issue?

In the past I could hover my mouse arrow over the slider vertical bar to the right of the sidebar and get a 2 headed arrow that I could use to adjust the width of the Bookmarks Sidebar but that stopped working. I need to fix this issue. What do I need to do?

Maybe something you installed to Firefox messed up that feature.
Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • How do you adjust the width of the panel bin?

I just got Elements 9.  In the earlier versions you could drag the line that separates the panel bin from the rest of the workspace to adjust its width.  Also, you could double click the center of this same separator line to minimize the panel bin.  Once it was minimized you could bring the bin back by double clicking the line on the far right edge of the screen.  That does't seem to work anymore in Elements 9.  I see where you can minimize the panel bin by unchecking it under "Window" in the menu bar, but double clicking was a lot faster and I haven't been able to figure out how to adjust the width.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks for the response.  Too bad you can longer adjust the width.  I used that option a lot on my earlier versions.   Oh well, I am sure there are other improvments that more than make up for it.  Thanks again.

  • Since upgrading to Yosemite, when I try to compose a new message, the window is wider than the screen and I can't adjust the width.

Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite on my MacBook Air, I cannot get the mail window to adjust to a size that fits my screen.  It is wider than the screen size and although I can adjust the height, the adjustment arrows will not adjust the width.  I am not having the same problem with my mac mini since I upgraded that computer.  This is a pain because I spend most of my time on my air sending out e-mails to clients

    Greetings kbug61,
It appears you are experiencing issues with window sizes and displays. Have you attempted to adjust your resolution at any point? That may be why the windows aren't managed properly. The following article may help you find a solution:
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your display’s resolution
Your display’s resolution determines the size of text and objects on your screen. By default, the resolution on your display is set to show the sharpest text and the most detailed images. While it’s best to use the default resolution, you can manually set the resolution to make text and objects appear larger on your screen, or adjust it to make text and objects appear smaller so you have more space on your screen.
Depending on how you adjust the resolution, some apps may not fit entirely on the screen. Using a scaled resolution may affect performance.
Set the resolution for your primary display
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display.
Select Scaled, then select one of the scaled resolution options.
Set the resolution for a connected display
If you have more than one display, additional resolution options are available.
After the display is connected, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display.
Press the Option key while you click Scaled to see additional resolutions for the second display. Then select a scaled resolution option for the second display.
If you changed your display’s resolution and now there’s no picture
Connect multiple displays to your Mac
    Set options for accessibility
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • How to adjust the width of a shape?

I am tweaking an image that was created by another person (long gone). It's a shape that is too wide and I want to make it narrower. When I click on the shape itself, I see the outline, but no handles to adjust the width. How does one change the width or height of a shape that is already created?
    Thanks,
    Amy

  • How to adjust the width of a bar plot?

    Hi,
I have to draw a bar plot and when I wire values to the chart for some reason they are almost 1 inch think for each number. I was wondering how to adjust the width such taht it is something more like 2 mm per entry?

What you seem to be running into is the autoscale on the X-scale. Right click on the X scale and turn off autoscaling. You will then have to manually set the scale to get the width that you want.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to adjust the width, height of the window in the apex.navigation.popup.url call?

    Hi,
I created a Feedback page using the apex feedback feature, not a customized page. The link to the Feedback page calls the apex.navigation.popup.url using javascript to open a popup window. Does anyone know the proper syntax for adjusting the width and height of the popup window?
I have tried the following, but the window width/height does not adjust:
    javascript:apex.navigation.popup.url('f?p=&APP_ID.:102:&SESSION.:::102:P102_APPLICATION_ID,P102_PAGE_ID:&APP_ID.,&APP_PAGE_ID.',width=350,height=400);
    javascript:apex.navigation.popup.url('f?p=&APP_ID.:102:&SESSION.:::102:P102_APPLICATION_ID,P102_PAGE_ID:&APP_ID.,&APP_PAGE_ID.',350,400)
    Version: APEX 4.2
    Thanks,
    Makeisha

Why not call navigation.popup instead of navigation.popup.url then? popup.url does have the hardcoded values, but it just calls popup anyway. Nothing stops you from doing the same:
    javascript:apex.navigation.popup({"url":'f?p=&APP_ID.:102:&SESSION.:::102:P102_APPLICATION_ID,P102_PAGE_ID:&APP_ID.,&APP_PAGE_ID.',"name":"winLov","width":350,"height":400});
Use "winLov" if you want to keep that same popup.url functionality of overriding the same opened window. If you do not provide name the url will open in a new window every time.
The width and height values are hardcoded in popup.url, but they are not in .popup. There are only defaults in a default object there, and will be overridden when you provide an object with these parameters to the function.

  • In reference to Adjusting  the width of the column in ALV

    Hi All,
This is in reference to the thread Adjusting size of column
Here LR_COL is of type what?
    I did as follows.
data: lr_column type ref to cl_salv_wd_column.
    create object lr_column.
I am getting an error saying "The obligatory parameter "ID" had no value assigned to it."
Can any one help me out.
    Regards,
    Yugesh

    hi Yugesh ,
FYI , there are different methods to get and set the Width and Algnment in ALV
SET_WIDTH    : Set width of column
GET_WIDTH  : Get width of column
SET_H_ALIGN : Set horizontal alignment of elements
GET_H_ALIGN : Get horizontal alignment of elements
declare a variable of type reference cl_salv_wd_column , get the ref of the column and use the above 4 methods for width and alignment

  • Can I adjust the width of the navigation pane?

Hello, I've got a WebHelp project. It will generally be used on touchscreens. This forum gave me great advice on making the fonts bigger for TOC and Indiex items by going to the WebHelp Skin Editor.
Well, I was wondering if I could actually make the width of the navigation pane wider. In the Skin Editor, you can drag the pane (like you can in compiled help, but that doesn't seem to hold upon compilation. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi there
    Two things
Yes, you can adjust the pane. Check out the Skinny on Skins for detailed steps. Click here
Please submit a Wish Form to ask for this ability in the Skins Editor

  • Tables set at 100% within the width of a website throw everything out and spread across the browser screen - only with Mozilla Firefox so why?

If corrective changes are going to be needed to the websites, it will be a time-consuming job. I feel this must be a weakness in MF as it doesn't occur with other browsers.

Seems to be caused by the width="100%" for that table. That 100% is taken from the width on the outer table that is almost full screen width.<br />
You can see that with the DOM Inspector.

  • How can I adjust the width of email display so text remains within the width of display

Most emails are narrow enough to fit within the width of my display, occasionally I receive an email that spills of the edge of my screen and I need to move focus of my display back & firth with every line, is there a way to display in word wrap.?

You can set the width of the word wrap in about:config. Get to about:config from Options > Advanced > General > Config Editor. Search for "wrap" and set mailnews.wraplength to whatever works for you. You should also set mail.wrap_long_lines to true.

  • How to adjust the width of the accordion widget

I'm builting my 2nd wesbite with Muse and cannot find a way to decrease the width size of the accoidion widget to fit my grid. When I try to decrease it it just "jumps" back to its original spot.
I may be going crazy but I can't seem to find any information on this in the forums. I'm sure it's a simple fix I just cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated!

Reduce the width of the inner most container which is the usually the Text frame for each of the panels. Then you would be able to resize the width of the overall Accordion. Its just that the width of the Content Area cannot be less than that of the Text Frame inside.
    Thanks,
    Vinayak
