Adjustment brush "button" invisible in LR 4.4

When I apply an adjustment brush to the photo, close the brush and then reopen, in the past I've been able to see the round grey button to reactivate the "old" brush I applied. Now I can't see one. Anybody have any tips?
Mac OSX 10.8.3
LR 4.4

In the Tool bar on the left side there is the feature <Show Edit Pins> and by clicking on the small double triangle you can select <Auto>, <Always>, and <Never>.
You must have selected <Never>. If you don't see the Tool bar press letter T on your keyboard; letter T toggles the visibility of the Tool bar.

  • Accept/Reject changes and Adjustment Brush Buttons have disappeared

    The buttons that appear at the bottom of the Development Panel when using the Adjustment Brush, Crop Tool, GND Filter, etc., have STOPPED appearing on my version.  I can accept the changes by clicking on the Brush, ND filter, etc, but have no way to reject the changes other than going back in the history.  Also, the button that shows the Adjustment Brush as a "painted" area has disappeared with the rest, and so I can never specifically see the area I'm attempting to work on.  I thought perhaps I did something that hid or disabled these buttons, but I cannot find any such action.  Any ideas on this?  Thanks for any help.

    While you're in the Adjustment Brush, hit the T key.

  • In Camera raw setting of CS6, using the adjustment brush, the new, add or erase buttons do not work. Please advise.

    In Camera raw setting of CS6, using the adjustment brush, the new, add or erase buttons do not work. Please advise.

    What operating system are you using?
    Which version of camera raw do you have in photoshop cs6?
    After you select the Adjustment Brush, the New button should already be enabled.
    Then after you draw on an area of the image, the Add button should be enabled, with the option to choose either of the other two buttons; New or Erase
    Could you post a screenshot?
    Maybe all the adjustment values are set to zero?
    (at least one needs to have a value other than zero)

  • BUG!  lightroom 3.4.1 Adjustment Brush Doesn't Show It's "Button" Anymore

    Adjustment Brush Doesn't Show It's "Button" Anymore:
    I installed the update for 3.4.1 and warm re-booted my computer.
    The button that you saw after painting (releasing the mouse button), is no longer there.
    There is nothing to hover over to see what area you painted and if you Close the brush, and reopen it, the button does not appear.
    HALP!

    Disregard my second message about not understanding your email reply.
    I thought I had to hit "H" to see a link -on the email- to confirm my registration.
    I didn't realize it was your answer.
    Since I had just installed my 3.4.1 update and the default on my installed version of LR, and since my 'pins' have never been hidden, the 3.4.1 default of hiding the pins was a problem and is likely to fool a lot of users that hadn't read about hiding those pins yet.  Shouldn't the installation of -any- new version, pick up the defaults currently in LR?  That is an issue.
    We're good now.
    Thanks for the response.

  • Reset button for ACR adjustment brush

    I use ACR and the adjustment brush on a daily basis.  When making several corrections with the adjustment brush, each time I have to manually zero out the adjustments from the previous correction.  A bit of a pain.  If there were a reset button at the top to zero out all the adjustments it would greatly simplify this process.

    It is clumsy but:
    go to top of brush panel and double click on the "minus sign" just to the left of the exposure slider. This will reset everything but exposure. Then you must double click on the exposure slider itself to reset exposure. Of course, this is for the currently active brush.

  • Lightroom 5.5 for Mac Adjustment Brush not working

    Hi all, since updating to Lightroom 5.5 for Mac Adjustment Brush has stopped working entirely. I can open the menu and it does display the brush within the menu. When dragging the tool into the image it changes to the mouse arrow which doesn't have any function. Any ideas? Thank you very much for your help. Chris

    And- do you actually press or hold down the left-mouse button and drag the cursor on the image? as you would a paint brush. A 'Pin' will appear where you start the brush stroke.
    And- Is it possible that you have the switch at the base of the brush panel sliders turned off ?   (The toggle switch on the same line as "Reset" and "Close")
    Pressing "O" only turns the overlay mask on/off to give a visual indication 'Where' you have applied the brush.
    Pressing "SHIFT+O" changes the colour of the MASK overlay- Red, Green, Grey, Clear
    "O" does not affect any editing of the image.

  • Adjustment Brush help needed

    Is anyone facing the same problem as I am? When I use adjustment brush, and edit, I use to have a button right below the picture that I am editing to click Done, but after a while the Done button is gone and all I can do now is either reset or previous under the develop, any idea? making me crazy, thanks for your answers

    Pressing Enter/Return will do the same as clicking done. But I agree with Rikk that Pressing "T" should bring the toolbbar back for you.

  • Adjustment brush not selective editing

    Hi I am new to Lightroom. I was playing with the adjustment brush and have done something that has stopped it from doing selective edits. When i adjust exposure it adjusts the whole image and not my brush strokes, very frustrated trying to find what I have done to upset it. can anyone tell me what I may have done wrong and how can I rectify it.
    Many thanks
    Mark

    You may have inadvertently closed the brush by clicking on its icon on the control panel. If the brush is active, you should see the round button on your image where you first applied the brush.
    If this is the case, just click on the Adjustment Brush icon again, and then on the round button on your image to select the previous brush, if there is one, or just create a new one by brushing on the image.
    Also, make sure you did not accidentally click on Invert Mask - this would make all adjustments affect the areas that you did not brush.
    You can see the area that will be affected by the brush settings if you press the letter O on your keyboard while the brush is active. It will turn the selected areas red.

  • Adjustment brush

    Hi,
    When I open the adjustment brush only a partial menu opens. The brush size, density ect....but no actual photo adjustment sliders. The complete menu opens for radial filter and graduated filter just not for the adjustment brush. Any ideas?

    Never mind....got it figured out, just couldn't see the dark expand button.

  • Lightroom 4 adjustment brush has little effect

    I am using Lightroom 4 because my Mac is on OSX 10.6.8. As I use it today I'm seeing that the adjustment brush is having little effect. I'm trying to bring areas in shadow up a bit, but there's almost no change. The images shows what should be creating a substantial adjustment and it's almost invisible. Even retroactively sliding the exposure control fully up does just about nothing. Similar lack of effectiveness with other controls, like Contrast. The images are DNG converted/imported from NEF (Nikon D7000) by Lightroom.  I have reset, relaunched and restarted. Suggestions?

    Yes, thank you. I actually figured it out and was having difficulty deleting my post. Thanks again.

  • How to change local adjustment brush size when unselecting ?

    Perhaps a stupid beginners question but i cannot seem to find this one..
    Using the local adjustment brush i can change the size of the brush using the [ and ] brackets
    However.. when i make a small error and want to erase brushed-area by using the ALT key then the brush size seems to be fixed to one size ???

    Erwin,
    As they say, there are lots of ways to skin a cat.
    Erase mode uses a different setting for the brush size. You can adjust it, but not with the brackets while the Alt key is held down.With the Alt held down, you can still move the size slider in the brush panel with the mouse.
    I can't speak for Macs, but on Windows, my scroll wheel works to change the size of the brush, whether the alt key is pressed or not.
    If that won't work for you, you can click on the "Erase" text button in the brush panel and then use the bracket keys to change sizes. You'll be in erase mode even without holding down the Alt key. In fact, in that mode, holding the Alt key puts you back in "paint" mode.

  • Why don't changes made in camera raw with the adjustment brush carry into photoshop?

    Why don't changes made in camera raw with the adjustment brush carry into photoshop?

    Using the Open button in ACR to get to PS doesn’t create a PSD or a TIF, it just transfers the image in memory.
    As has been asked, already, what are the precise steps of your workflow starting with your painting the adjustment brush strokes in ACR and seeing the image in PS without the strokes, and what exact versions of PS and ACR are you using?
    Use Help / About Photoshop..., and Help / About Plug-ins... / Camera Raw...

  • Adjustment brush is only working on the outer edge of all of my photos, why?

    I've just downloaded LR 4, watched tutorials but my adjustment brush only works on the outer edge of my photos.  The brush changes to an arrow when I move towards the center of the photo.  Why?

    Thank you so much.
    I took this and wrapped it all in an if statement.
    Since Liability_Continued was my master page, the script ended up looking similar to this:
    if (xfa.datasets.data.job.data.state.value == "NY"){
    var oMaster = xfa.resolveNodes("Liability_Continued");
    for (var i=0; i<oMaster.length; i++)  {
         oMaster.item(i).footer.liabilityFooterBig.presence = "visible";
         oMaster.item(i).footer.liabilityFooter.presence = "invisible";

  • The adjustment brush suddenly stopped working in Lr CC (among other things)

    1. All of a sudden the adjustment brush stopped working in my Lr CC. The little buttons that you can click on to activate your adjustments are gone and when I open files where I have done adjustments they are still there but no "buttons" to click and consequently I can not make any changes or new adjustments. For example; in the image I have inserted I have made adjustments with a) Sharpness, b) Skin Softening and c) Iris Enhance and the adjustments are still there but no "buttons" any more and therefore I can´t change anything. I edited this image April 29 and 30 when Lr still worked fine. Today (and yesterday) things has really start spooking around with Lr.
    2. After having saved an image in Ps CC as a psd-file going back to Lr CC for cropping Lr continuously reloads and resets all edits that I have done or are trying to do.
    Everything has been working earlier but the past two days things like the above has stopped working.

    Well, all problems regarding this are solved after having talked to Adobe's support. After having backed up my lrcat we deleted the Lightroom 6 plist, emptied the trash can and then restored Lightroom to its default values during the start-up process.
