Adjustment Brush help needed

Is anyone facing the same problem as I am? When I use adjustment brush, and edit, I use to have a button right below the picture that I am editing to click Done, but after a while the Done button is gone and all I can do now is either reset or previous under the develop, any idea? making me crazy, thanks for your answers

Pressing Enter/Return will do the same as clicking done. But I agree with Rikk that Pressing "T" should bring the toolbbar back for you.

  • Grainy caused by adjustment brush in LR5(need help)

I just realized when I printed some of my photos that I adjusted in LR5, the pictures looked so grainy.
I notice, the grainy only shows in some part of the pictures (the one that I brushed).
Does anyone experiencing this problem with adjustment brush.
Can someone help me with this? am I doing wrong with LR5?

I know off is supposed to be no color but for some reason it's a faded blue color.  The little rectangle next to color that's supposed to have a sort of 'X' from the corners isn't gray, like it's supposed to be, but blue.
As far as I know, I only have 1 catalog.  I went to Edit->Preferences->Presets and I do not have "store presets with catalog" checked. I checked it and have now found the presets I asked about.  Thanks much.
Still can't figure out the mask overlay thing and it's really annoying to have to keep turning it off.

  • I need help with the adjustment brush.

When I first started using Lightroom, the adjustment brush worked fine. Now, I will select the adjustment brush, click on the photo I'm editing, and a red circle will appear depending on the circumference I chose. If I look at the thumbnail in the navigation sidebar to the left, the red circle appears as a black circle in that photo. In addition, none of the sliders will work with the exception of the exposure adjuster. However, the effects of adjusting the exposure only appear in the thumbnail in the navigation sidebar; the main image will stay red in the area selected. Does anybody have a clue how to fix this?

Press the [o] key (overlay) to make the red overlay disappear.  The black that appears in your thumbnail is likely caused by a very high negative exposure value for the brush.  It also sounds like you have the Adjustment Brush panel partially collapesed.  On the same line as the word Effect: on the right side is a small black triangle, click on it to expand. These are the sliders that go with the brush - not hte sliders in the basic panel which I suspect you are using.

  • Need help with adjustment brush in LR3.6, Windows 7

I have a couple questions regarding adjustment brushes in LR 3.6 which I either can't find the answer for or the answer isn't working for me.
    1.  I recently found out there should be Iris Enhance, Skin Soften, etc. brushes in the presets.  I can't find them under the adjustment brush.  I've tried going to Edit->Preferences->Presets->Restore Local Adjustment Presets as several others have suggested but it doesn't appear to do anything.   I have found these files where I've read they're supposed to be (../AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom/Local Adjustment Presets) but I can't find them in LR unless they're somewhere other than the Adjustment Brush panel.
    2. Also, 'O' turns the mask overlay on and off as it should.  I have 'on' set to red but for some reason 'off' is set to blue and I have to desaturate it everytime I turn off the overlay mask.  How do I change the "off" state to be no color?
    Thanks.

  • New to the Adjustment Brush Tool...HELP!

Hello!  I am fairly new to Lightroom, and the Adjustment Brush tool specifically, and I am having some problems with it!  I have watched tons of tutorials on using it, and it seems relatively easy...although when I go into my program and attempt to use it, nothing happens to my photo...say if I wanted to adjust the exposure on the face of an individual, I will go in and select the tool, decrease the exposure, make the brush and feather the size I want it, and when I go to "paint" the area I want altered, nothing happens?  The pins appear as if to show me that's where I started, but then no change happens to the area I attempted to paint.  Do I need to select something somewhere to be able to actually use the brush to paint?  Any help is appreciated!!  Thank you!!

First, verify that you have painted something. At the bottom is an option that says "Show Selected Mask Overlay", enable this. It will show the area you have painted so far.
If you see pink appear, this is where you have painted so far. Try changing your adjustments more drastically (i.e. move sliders all the way one direction or another). If you see the effect appear, dial things back until you have what you want.
If you do not see pink appear, make sure your Flow and Density sliders are up. This act like opacity, so if they are too low, you aren't laying down much "paint" with your brush.

  • Help with Adjustment brush

    Hi All,
I have upgraded LR2 to 2.1. Now I can't use the adjustment brush. When i click on the photo to make an adjustment - nothing happens; not white dot, no change, no nothing. HELP! What am I doing wrong? The gradient filter works just fine.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Al

Albert - if you haven't already, after clicking on the brush tick the small box underneath it to open a drop-down list. At the bottom of this list is another box alongside the word 'Colour' (or color if you're American :-) ). Click or double click on this box to bring up the colour pallet and using the ey-dropper pick a crazy colour such as a deep red. Now try painting with the bush. If you didn't notice the effects before it may be because the chosen colour was way at the bottom of the colour pallet giving you a neutral grey (gray) which is sometimes hard to spot.

  • Help! Lightroom 3 Color Swatch for Adjustment Brush has Disappeared!

I selected the Adjustment Brush and then click on the color swatch icon. I remember changing the value to 0. Then the color swatch icon just disappeared.I've tried reseting everything in the adjustment brush settings but the color swatch icon is still gone. In addition to that, If I click on the Adjustment Brush to activate it and the click anywhere on the photo, the entire photo disappears. Has anyone had this problem? Do you know how to fix this issue? Thanks.

I also tried restarting Ligtroom 3. That did not help. I tried rebooting my computer. That did not help, either.

  • Adjustment brushes moved by themself! HELP

PROBLEM! I opened my lightroom work to go no, and EVERY adjustment brush pins of every photo have moved a bit on the right! How can I do? All my work is ruined! HELP PLEASE

It appears that LR is applying the original photo's adjustments to the exported copy.  This would only happen if the filenames were exactly the same and something external to LR replaced the original photos wtih the exported ones.
Did you save/move/replace/save-over your original photos with the exported copies and both the originals and exported copies were JPGs?
The offset could occur if the exported photo that has since replace the original was cropped or resized.  What would be happening is the adjustments would effectively be applied a second time.  The first time would be saved into the pixels of the exported photo, while the second time is virtually via LR applying them on screen.  If you view the JPGs in a separate, non-Adobe program like an internet browser do you see the second set of adjustments?
Do you still have the original photos?  Did you move or remove or delete the originals since the export?

I need the "highlight" or "red" to be darker when using adjustment brush in lightroom 4?

We can't do darker, but try Shift-O to cycle through other colours.

  • Help with teeth whitening adjustment brush

I consider myself a LR newbie so excuse my ignorance!  I was trying to learn the adjustment brush, specifically the teeth whitening one. Got it to work great on a photo, then tried it on another one. I have no idea what I did, but now it doesn't do anything when I use it.  I'm afraid that maybe I changed the preset..??  Is there a way to get it back?  I can see the mask when I apply the brush, it just doesn't make any changes.
This is how I attempt it:
    I zoom into the teeth.
Click the adjustment brush and select the Effect: Teeth whitening
Adjust the size of my brush and 'paint' the teeth.
    Nothing happens.
The first time I used it, I could see the teeth whiten wherever my brush stroke was.
Bottom line, I have no idea what I did to mess it up!
I'm using Windows 7 and LR4 4.1, and my files are in .dng format.
    Thanks for your help!!
    Wendy

Brush settings are sticky with Last Brush Used and independent of the effect.  If your effect is Teeth Whitening it is independent of Size, Feather, Flow, Automask, and Density.
You can set up a standard A Brush and a B Brush as well as a Standard Erasure but they will not remember the settings if you move them.
Flow- How much is applied per brush stroke
Density- How much of the total effect is allowed to accumulate with multiple brush strokes.
So, 100% of your effect is being applied 88% at a time with your previous flow. I normally run denisty at 100 and flow at around 33-50 so I can build up, feather etc.

I recently had to restore my Iphone 4s and ever since I cannot double click the home button whilst the phone is locked and change my music. The controls come up and I can adjust the volume but I cannot change the songs. Help needed please!!

Have you guys been able to activate your iphone yet? I bought an iphone 4s from eBay and it worked fine, but the previous user had left some data on it, so last night I used the "erased all content and settings" to restore it to factory setting so I can start fresh and restore my backup. But now I'm stuck at the activation screen (I get the same "the activation server is temporarily unavailable")  and can't get it to activate, even if I use my old deactivated AT&T sim card (I'm on straighttalk now).
I might try activating it with an active AT&T sim card from my fiancee's phone when she gets home, so I'll let you know how that works outs.
If it's true that the server is down; anyone know when it will be back up again? Thanks in advance.

  • HELP! Lightroom Crashes Only with Adjustment Brush and only when using HDMI output!

This is very frustrating. I use my Acer N56V laptop to teach Lightroom workshops. I use a 32 inch television as a display. When I have my laptop attached with an HDMI cable and try to use Lightroom's adjustment brush, it crashes. Either the screen and computer just shuts down or I get the Blue Screen of Death. I can do anything else! I can edit in Photoshop, do anything else in Lightroom or even Silver EFX Pro. I can even click on the adjustment brush. But the minute the brush hits the photo (and not before), the computer crashes. If I don't have it attached to the HDMI or if I use a Serial cable, no issues. It's only the adjustment brush and only the HDMI output.
I called Adobe and they said it was because my onboard video card was primary and not the Nvidia. I called Acer and they said it's auto detect. I also tried making the Nvidia card primary and it still happened. Any ideas???

You have switched the overlay mask to always show. Fortunately, it's easy fixed i.e. tap the O key. Shift+O will cycle the overlay through various colours
Other Adjustment Brush and Graduate Filter shortcuts and modifiers are listed them below:
    Open Adjustment Brush - K
    Open Gradient Tool - M
    Show/hide Pin - H
    Always Show - Shift + Cmd/Ctrl+H
    Show Selected/Never Show - Shift+H
To increase Amount - Right Arrow
To decrease Amount - Left Arrow
    To increase/decrease brush size -  ] / [
    To increase/decrease feather - Shift+] / Shift+[
Set Flow Amount - Number Keys
To commit  and/or start new a brush stroke or gradient - Enter / Return
To delete the selected pin - Delete
Holding down - Alt/Option key activates erase mode
    Toggle Auto Mask On/Off - A
Pressing O toggles on/off the overlay
Shift+O cylces through alternative colours for overlay
To constrain gradient to vertical/horizontal  - hold down Shift plus drag
To invert the gradient - '
To scale from center - Alt/Option plus drag

  • Since updating to v.3.4.5 adjustment brushes no longer work? Please help??

    Hi Guys,
I have just updated to Aperture 3.4.5.
Annoyingly the adjustment brushes and sliders such as "straighten" no longer work. They are added to my adjustments panel when I select them from the drop-down menu, but are accompanied by the sound of the dreaded apple beep (suggesting something is wrong) and do not change the cursor into the appropriate tool, thus preventing me from carrying out these particular adjustments.
If someone has any solutions for this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

Test again in a different user account with a small test library. Does it still not work for a different user after reinstalling?
And test in your regular account with a small test library.
is it possibly something to do with an incombatiability between the new update and a plug-in?
Which plug-ins are you using? Are they all compatible with Aperture 3.4 and Lion?
Aperture 3.4 and later: Some third-party plug-ins are no longer compatible

  • In Camera RAW when I use the adjustment brush, erase, then go back to the brush I can't adjust the DENSITY. I have to use the brush, then delete it, then the density is available. Thanks for any help!

I am using ACR 8.6 hosted by Photoshop CC 2014.2.0 with Windows 7 Pro SP1, and am not seeing any issue with Adjustment Brush sliders.
I am opening a new image in ACR and click the Adjustment Brush toolbar icon, then adjust the Exposure slider up then making some strokes, then click Erase, and remove some parts of the strokes, then click Add, and can make more strokes as well as adjust all the sliders, including Density.
