Adjustment Brush in Lightroom 5 has a different sized effect smaller than the brush size

Hi,
When using Lightroom 5 Adjustment brush, the effect is only in the inner half of the brush size circle. In other words, if you select a 1 inch brush to darken, only about the center 1/2 inch is being darkened. I'm 100 percent sure the brush has no feathering, and all the settings are fine. An expert told me to try to get rid of preferences, and try it, and it still does the same thing. Now, I just updated to LR 5.7 hoping maybe it will fix it, to no avail. The LR on my laptop behaves perfectly fine.
Attached is a screen shot and a phone shot (excuse the moire, I had to use a phone to show the brush size properly) to show settings and the effect I'm talking about, so it's perfectly clear.
I have been putting up with this for months, but it's driving me crazy. Also, it occurred to me that all adjustments I make might 'change' later when I fix it, and it might show up unknown to me when I export the files later. And this would waste hundreds of hours of work if something resets somehow.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

This problem is caused by changing the cursor size in the ACCESSIBILITY settings in your OS. Here is a screen shot from the Mac but Windows has similar settings. I reported this in Lightroom 2 or 3 and it is STILL not fixed. (Adobe's bug fixing rate to me is pretty dismal) If you change your system cursor to anything except "Normal" you will get this behavior as Lightroom doesn't account for the system preferences. I would like to make my cursor bigger but this prevents it.

Yes I would say that the version that shows in the settings should be the same as the version that you are using so that begs the question .... Are you sure that you are using the most recent version of Skype? Did you double check in the App Store to make sure?
I had a weird issues a while back were I was getting an update notification for a coupe of apps that I had just updated the day before. So I updated the apps again. The next day I got another update notification for one of the apps. So, I updated again.
My point is - I know that the apps were updated two days before and yet I was still getting the notifications and when I tapped on update - the iPad sure seemed to be going through all of the motions of updating. I just chalked it up to one of those unexplained mysteries of the universe. Maybe this is just a fluke in your case as well.
Now having said all of that, did you try rebooting the iPad and see if the correct version appears in the settings - of course as long as you know for sure that you are using the latest version and can verify that?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Photoshop brush strokes are smaller than the cursor, need to make them the same.

My photoshop brush, pencil and Clone strokes are smaller than the cursor, which makes it very difficult for accuracy. Don't know what made them change, but want the cursor and stroke to be the same.
I've tried different settings in the brush dialog box, with differenc tip settings, etc, with no results. Also, tried different settings in Preferences/Cursor setting. No luck.

Under Preferences (cmd k) > Cursors > Painting Cursors, the setting should be Normal.
Usually "Reset Tools" as described in post 1 helps. Have you tried it yet?

It addresses this exact issue. You'll be able to configure different pre-set snooze times, enter custom snooze times when an alarm triggers, etc. It's what snoozing should've been from the get go.

Visited Genius Bar. Solution was System Preferences/Accessibility/Display and move cursor size to Normal. A couple months back I evidently saw the option of making the arrow larger and did so and did not discover the problem in Elements until later. Before I visited Genius Bar I discovered same problem with Photoshop CS6 and Pixelmator. I had also uninstalled then reinstalled Elements and knew it wasn't a bug in the software.

Delete those apps that are not under your Apple ID and re-download them using your Apple ID.

I should say that you can add the other account to each device as a seconday account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud and signing in with the ID the other device is using. This would allow you to see mail, contacts, calendars, reminders and notes from the other account alongside the same data from the primary account on each device.

Small consolation : iWeb is a very advanced piece of software. So advanced that even highly skilled professionals have difficulty understanding and using it.
Anyway, your pages are NOT the same size by design. Which can clearly be seen. But also by checking the source of the pages.
The Home page is 665px wide and the Contact page is 820px wide. That doesn't happen by magic. It's user induced.
So do what I do : pay attention to every tiny detail. Especially when it's your business. No excuse.

Lightroom displays files and exports files darker than the original or from Photoshop

Hello all.
I would first like to preface this by stating I am not technically minded, and I know nothing (or very little) of ICC profiles etc.
Though assume someone will attempt to tell me to do something with them in a really technical way which I won't understand, please treat me like a 4 year child in this regard.
I am using Lightroom 5.6 on a Mac running 10.9.4 I have CS6 Photoshop and have a Spyder 3pro calibration device and have linked all of the Adobe programs to the output of the calibration to "hopefully" ensure quality control.
I recently have been scanning analogue film and importing this into Lightroom 5. I have noticed that the file imported always looks darker than the original.
When I have exported from Lightroom them they look like crap.
There are no import additional settings as they are all turned off. I did that when I installed LR.
I have also noticed than whenever I imported a Raw file for some reason the original file would look great for a second then when clicked on would also change to something less appealing. But I digress.
So in attempt to show what is happening. I have created some images to illustrate my problem.
Also it does not matter if I turn the soft proofing on or off.

Any clues as this is very annoying and at the moment makes Lightroom 5 unusable.

Can you put one of your scans somewhere, like www.dropbox.com, and post a public download/share link to it?   I'd like to try one of the scans on my computer, though, to see if it does the same thing. You can crop an original down to something smaller that includes sky and trees like your screenshots show.
I am guessing there is a gamma problem or a profile problem somewhere. What Profile do the scans have embedded in them from the scanner? You can turn on the three Ask checkboxes in your color-settings and see what it says when you open an original in Photoshop.
My guess is that LR is using a default profile that doesn't match what Photoshop is using, but perhaps there is a gamma issue, too.
Have you tried opening one of the originals in the Camera Raw plug-in, perhaps from Bridge or just from PS / File / Open. You may have to set your PS Camera Raw settings to prefer ACR for TIFs. ACR and LR should be about the same in file handling so it'd be interesting to see if that is the case.

Once uploaded, my indesign document has a different typeface. Why is the font replaced?

We do not have access to your customer fonts. The fonts we support for image previews of InDesign files is documented here http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/fontinstall/cs6installedfonts.html.
One solution is to convert the InDesign document to a PDF and upload. The PDF will retain the custom font. And the image preview will display as you expect.

You can have both versions at the same time. You can open MX
2004 files in CS3, as you may know, but not the other way around.
In addition, without Flash 8, you'll not be able to save backwards
to MX 2004 because Flash only saves back one version at a time. So,
you can save back to 8 from CS3, open it in 8 and save back to MX
2004 so long as you didn't have any features in your movie that was
specific to the newer versions.

Why do placed images in illustrator print a different shade of black than the black in the document?

It has happened to me more than a few times. For example, I'll place artwork that was created in photoshop into an illustrator document, and the blacks are inconsistent. Any advice?

Your blacks may have different CMYK values. The default value for foreground swatch in photoshop is 75c 68m 67 y 90k and many people don't realize that is not 100%k. A common Rich black value is 60c 40my 100k, which makes the black darker, and still neutral by having cyan above my.
If you specify 100 k in photoshop & 100k in illustrator, and the colors print different, you may have a color destination profile assigned to your placed CMYK image.
