Adjustment Brush sliders

When I use the Adjustment Brush in LR4, none of the sliders move smooth. Plus I constantly get the spinning beach ball.

Adjustment brush sliders not working

In the develop module, the adjustment brush sliders seem to have no affect on the area brushed. Did I do something to change that or is there a fix for it.

Check the position of the Flow and Density sliders, at the bottom of the panel, you may have set them accidentally to zero

Local Adjustment Brush Sliders Are Gone

I did a reinstall, repair actually of LR 2.6 due to blue screen errors (which turned out not to be LR related) and now my local adjustment brush sliders are gone! I've got the old style, one slider with the other controls being + & - buttons. I've got no clue what else is gone but I would like my sliders back.
What happened? LR says it's the most current version.

In the upper right corner of the brush panel is a little whte buttton. It is on the same line as "adjustment:".

Adjustment brush sliders missing in LR4 when trying to manipulate masks originally created in LR3

I am trying to re-edit some of my birding photos (CR2 raw images). I have difficult masks that were created in LR3 and took alot of time due to feathers on a complicated background. I do not want to have to re-mask everything in LR4. When I have imported my files to LR4 the original LR3 mask is still present. However, the sliders for Temp, Tint, Hightlights, Shadows, Saturation, Noise, Moire and Defringe are missing. I want to do localized noise control to keep feather sharpness so I need the Noise slider.
Am I missing something? If I work on a photo that had no LR3 mask all sliders are available. If a mask from LR3 exists I am missing sliders.

Images processed in Lightroom 3 will still display process 2010 settings. If you go to the calibration section of the right hand panel, you can switch to the new process version. But it will probably make changes to your images. So try it on one and see if the changes are acceptable. I only change the images that I worked on in Lightroom 3 on an individual basis when I decide I want to try to improve them.

Adjustment brush not working in lightroom 5.7

The adjustment brush sliders don't appear to do anything anymore in Lightroom 5.7. Does anyone else have the same problem?
I don't need workarounds - this should work.

And- do you actually press or hold down the left-mouse button and drag the cursor on the image? as you would a paint brush. A 'Pin' will appear where you start the brush stroke.
And- Is it possible that you have the switch at the base of the brush panel sliders turned off ? (The toggle switch on the same line as "Reset" and "Close")
Pressing "O" only turns the overlay mask on/off to give a visual indication 'Where' you have applied the brush.
Pressing "SHIFT+O" changes the colour of the MASK overlay- Red, Green, Grey, Clear
"O" does not affect any editing of the image.

Adjustment Brushes in Lightroom 3.6 have stopped working on my iMac

I have Lightroom 3.6 loaded on my iMac v10.6 and have been using it continuously for some time. For the second time in just a few weeks the Adjustment Brushes/Sliders have stopped working correctly, that is there is no noticeable adjustment on my image [for example Brightness, Exposure, Clarity etc.]. I cannot remember what I was told to do to correct this problem last time I had to contact Adobe Support about this issue, and I'm told I now have to pay for support for this product now as Lightroom 4 is released.
Is there a way I can fix the problem?

You've checked the density and flow sliders are set high enough?

In Camera RAW when I use the adjustment brush, erase, then go back to the brush I can't adjust the DENSITY. I have to use the brush, then delete it, then the density is available. Thanks for any help!

I am using ACR 8.6 hosted by Photoshop CC 2014.2.0 with Windows 7 Pro SP1, and am not seeing any issue with Adjustment Brush sliders.
I am opening a new image in ACR and click the Adjustment Brush toolbar icon, then adjust the Exposure slider up then making some strokes, then click Erase, and remove some parts of the strokes, then click Add, and can make more strokes as well as adjust all the sliders, including Density.

Temperature and Tint sliders missing from Adjustment Brush Panel (Lightroom 4.4)

Can't seem to locate the temperature and tint sliders in the adjustment brush panel that's supposedly an added fetaure in Lightroom 4?

How do I use the adjustment brush to mask and not turn my item green?

I have shot some products for my web site. I need completely white backgrounds. I have tried to mask the product and lighten the whites, but when I click done, my product has turned very green.
Why? How do you use the brush? Also, where is the invert to make this easier on me?
Kind of urgent, I need to get these items on my site already.
I know the answer is simple... I just don't know what it is.

Have you tried without the adjustment brush, by simply adjusting white balance from the basic tab in develop?
Click on the eye dropper tool and then click on a neutral gray color. Use the background if it is neutral rather than white. You may need to keep selecting the eye dropper to click in a few different places for best results.
If you decide to use the adjustment brush you can show or hide the mask. Uncheck the mask when you have finished painting; then use the sliders, starting with tint and temperature.

New to the Adjustment Brush Tool...HELP!

Hello! I am fairly new to Lightroom, and the Adjustment Brush tool specifically, and I am having some problems with it! I have watched tons of tutorials on using it, and it seems relatively easy...although when I go into my program and attempt to use it, nothing happens to my photo...say if I wanted to adjust the exposure on the face of an individual, I will go in and select the tool, decrease the exposure, make the brush and feather the size I want it, and when I go to "paint" the area I want altered, nothing happens? The pins appear as if to show me that's where I started, but then no change happens to the area I attempted to paint. Do I need to select something somewhere to be able to actually use the brush to paint? Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!!

First, verify that you have painted something. At the bottom is an option that says "Show Selected Mask Overlay", enable this. It will show the area you have painted so far.
If you see pink appear, this is where you have painted so far. Try changing your adjustments more drastically (i.e. move sliders all the way one direction or another). If you see the effect appear, dial things back until you have what you want.
If you do not see pink appear, make sure your Flow and Density sliders are up. This act like opacity, so if they are too low, you aren't laying down much "paint" with your brush.

Since updating to v.3.4.5 adjustment brushes no longer work? Please help??

I have just updated to Aperture 3.4.5.
Annoyingly the adjustment brushes and sliders such as "straighten" no longer work. They are added to my adjustments panel when I select them from the drop-down menu, but are accompanied by the sound of the dreaded apple beep (suggesting something is wrong) and do not change the cursor into the appropriate tool, thus preventing me from carrying out these particular adjustments.
If someone has any solutions for this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

Test again in a different user account with a small test library. Does it still not work for a different user after reinstalling?

is it possibly something to do with an incombatiability between the new update and a plug-in?
Which plug-ins are you using? Are they all compatible with Aperture 3.4 and Lion?

Unable to add further Edits using Adjustment Brush in Lightroom 5.

Using Lightroom 5 - when I go back to a previously edited image to do further editing, using the Adjustment Brush, I open the effect that I want to use ( Dodge, for example) but all the sliders are inoperative. The word 'Dodge (Edited)' appears in the Effects header. Therefore I can't make any further changes to the image. I have opened the drop down Effects menu and ticked 'Restore default presets' but to no avail. Any solutions welcome.

Thank you for that trshaner. The density was set at 100 but flow only 86. I've shoved that up to 100 now and I think we may have a result!

Lightroom 5.5 for Mac Adjustment Brush not working

Hi all, since updating to Lightroom 5.5 for Mac Adjustment Brush has stopped working entirely. I can open the menu and it does display the brush within the menu. When dragging the tool into the image it changes to the mouse arrow which doesn't have any function. Any ideas? Thank you very much for your help. Chris

Adjustment brush woes.

I'm a new user to Lightroom and took a community college course with book in order to learn.
I've been using the adjustment brush with great success until yesterday. I can plant a pin, but the mask overlay doesn't show and no changes appear on my image.
I've shut down & rebooted. I've read a couple of forums but still have no answers.
Any help will be appreciated. Such an awesome tool to lose!

All the sliders in the Adjustment Brush panel can be collapsed (and thus hidden) by clicking on the very-hard-to-distinguish small black arrow at the right-hand end of the "Effect:" line at the top of the panel. If you have inadvertently clicked that arrow, all the sliders will be hidden, and then it's easy to not realise this and start moving the sliders in the Baic Panel immediately below the Adjustment Brush panel....and those sliders do of course affect the entire image.
If it's not that, let us know and we'll think some more.

No Basic/Advanced Mode with Adjustment Brush

I have LR3 and can't make any changes using the Adjustment Brush. I can highlight an area (and change colors of the overlay) but that's it...any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I also have no Basic/Advanced switch...

The basic/advanced modes were removed from the application as part of the Lr3 update. Hit H key to make the brush visible and O to toggle overlay on/off. Make sure that Density and Flow sliders are not set to Zero. You may have to toggle open the full brush panel to see these options.
