Adjustment Layer gone nuts

For some reason I am having savage problems with adjustment layers in premiere. I have a sequence with a few video layers, one of them has a track matte applied, one of them is has an alpha, and a AL on top. At the start of the sequence, an effect applied to the AL causes one of the video layers to not be visible as it track matte stops working. Disabling the effect makes it work again.
In the same sequence, I have a photoJPG.mov video and a AL on the layer above. I am trying to create a simple bloom effect with a fast blur, noise, and procamp. I use keyframes to ramp the effect down at the beginning of the clip. The AL seems to work with fast blur and procamp, but as soon as I apply noise it goes nuts. It disregards noise keyframes all together and has a constant noise applied. Resetting the effect, deleting keyframes, and re-ordering the effects does nothing. Or sometimes adding noise just causes the AL to disregard all the keyframes of the all the effects.
This is super frustrating. Can one of you point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
DB

Sure. Sorry about that.

  • My curves adjustment layer is gone??

    All of a sudden in PS CC, when I click on the add adjustment layer button at bottom of layers panel, "curves' is no longer on the list.  This just started today.  Help?

    Try resetting your Workspace.
    If still no joy, try Restoring Preferences:
    Windows - CTRL-SHIFT-ALT immediately after you double-click the PS icon.

  • Creating adjustment layer Q

    Hi.  I'm new to CS5 as the last version I owned was PS 5, lol
    Anyways, I'm having a bit of a fit because I could have sworn, that if pressing the option key or something, and choosing an adjustment layer from down at the bottom of the layers pallette, that it would open up that adjustments dialog window as if you had gone and chosen it from the menu itself...not the adjustment pallette version. Know what I mean?
    IOW, When creating an adjustment layer, I'd want to be opening, say, the brightness/contrast dialog box that I'd get if I went to image>mode>adjustments>brightness/contrast, and not the brightness/contrast on the adjustment palette.
    I swear I've seen people doing it in various videos, but no matter what key I press and click on the adjustments menu at the bottom of the layers palette, the only thing I get by pressing 'option' I get that 'name', use previous layer to create clipping mask', color', mode' opacity' dialog box.
    Dag nab it, this is driving me nuts.  Was I hallucinating this feature?
    Thanks

    I see. Thanks!  Checked out that thread as well. Did you write thats script form scratch? I got to hand it to you, that's a million miles form what my brain is designed for.  lol
    Perhaps I picked it up from a tutorial using an earlier version. Although, sometimes tutorials are using windows. Is it possible that the windows CS5 version has the feature which the Mac version doesn't?  Hmmmm
    You've also taught me that the menu selected dialog boxes are called 'modal'.

  • In Photoshop CC (2014), Hue/Saturation adjustment layer properties disappear

    I am running Photoshop CC (2014) under Windows 7 Professional.  The program is up to date.
    Today, while editing an 8-bit image, I added a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.  Then, in the properties panel for this layer, with the on-image adjustment tool selected, I clicked a color in the image to get a range of colors whose saturation I wanted to adjust.  Next, using the saturation slider in the properties panel, I increased the saturation of this range of colors. Finally, I closed the properties panel by clicking on the double arrow in the upper right corner.
    Later, I wanted to modify this adjustment layer.  I double-clicked on the layer thumbnail to reopen the properties panel, and found that, although the previous increase in saturation was still operating, the saturation slider was back at its default position, and the range of colors that I had previously established was gone.  Thus, I could not make further adjustments to this range of colors.
    I then did some further experimentation:  I deleted the first Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, and created a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. I then again established a range of colors as above, again increased the saturation of these colors, and then again closed the properties panel by clicking on the double arrow in the upper right corner.  This time, however, when I wanted to try to modify this adjustment layer, instead of double-clicking on the layer thumbnail to reopen the properties panel, I right-clicked on the layer and then clicked on "Edit adjustment..."  This opened the properties panel, which, this time, correctly showed my original adjustments -- the saturation slider showed the positive adjustment that I had previously made, and the range of colors established earlier was still shown. But then, on a hunch, I added a Curves adjustment layer above the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.  Now, when I again opened the properties panel of the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer (by right-clicking on the layer and then clicking on "Edit adjustment..."), my previous settings were gone -- the saturation slider was at its default position and the range of colors was gone!  (But the increase in saturation was still operating.)
    Thus, it appears that there is a bug in the functioning of the properties panel of the Hue/Saturation layer: In short, once you have added a further adjustment layer, you can't then go back and make changes to the properties of the Hue/Saturation layer.  I would be interested to hear if others have noticed this.  Also, is Adobe planning to address this?

    OK, I am not entirely sure I have understood your post completely, but when you edit a colour range with a Hue/Sat layer, and click off and back on again, it will default to showing the RGB values, which you may not have made any adjustment to.  If you pick the previous colour from the image, or a similar colour, it _will_ show you the adjustments.  So long as your picked colour is contained within the range of the previous adjustment.
    Ypu could also use the RGB drop down (actually they call it Master nowadays), and chose the colour that is closest to your previously picked colour.  I expect you are away that you can edit the colour range being operated on by dragging the four sliders on the two colour bars at the bottom of the Properties panel.
    Does that make sense, or am I going in the wrong direction?

    I reopened the case for there was no fix  Adobe contacted me and told me it would be fixed is some future release of Photoshop and once again case # 181675168 was closed over my objection.
    I was vocal about Adobe poor excuse for support in forums.   I then was contacted by Jeff Tranberry of Adobe he was asked to  contact me by John Nack to see if he could change me.  We exchanged some e-mails ending with Jeff writing unfortunately, you issues has been deemed low impact and has been deferred.
    May 7, 2012  I called Adobe to find out if this bug was fixed in Photoshop for I did not want to buy CS6 if the Bug was not fixed. After about an hour on the phone talking to many Adobe employees including Adobe Support  referenced case # 181675168 log as Bug # 2737069. I was told the bug was not in CS6.  So I ordered CS6.   FedX dropped off Today I installed it only to find the bug introduced is CS4 reported in CS5 is still in CS6.
    Adobe when will you fix this bug # 2737069????

    CS5 has a bug recording and playing Actions that add Adjustments layers. Old actions recorded before CS5 and actions recorded with CS5 may or may not Play/Work correctly.
    Before there was an Adjustment Panel all Adjustment Layers were added applied to all layers and you needed to clip them after the were added if you wanted it clipped. The new adjustment panel made it possible to add a adjustment layer clipped to the current layer. However a clipping parameter is not recorded by the action recorder just the type and setting are recorded.
    When a make adjustment layer step is play it is either clipped or not depending on the state of the adjustment panel's clipping icon. If it not in the same state as it was when the action was recorded it will be add incorrectly. It would also be impossible to create an action that added some adjust layer clipped and others that are not.
    I feel the is a serious bug which needs to be addressed. I believe the solution is simple and even old actions will also work.
    Two patches are needed.
    One in the Action recorder. If the step being recorded is make adjustment layer and the adjustment panel icon state is clip to layer this needs to be recorded in the action step record. If the layer is to be applied nothing extra needs to be recorded in the step record just leave it as is like actions prior to the adjustment panel.
    The second patch in the Action Player.  If the step that is about to execute is a make adjustment layer. The Player needs to save away the state of the adjustment panel icon. Then check the adjustment step record to see if it is to be clipped. If so set the adjustment panel icon to the clipping state else set it to the all layers state. Then do/call the add adjustment layer function/routine on return restore the adjustment panels icon from the saved state. Proceed to the next step.
    I have been trying to report the bug for days. Please at least acknowledge you received my bug report.
    Thanks
    JJ

    I consulted your knowledge base and I called customer support. This bug has not been listed. Custom support had me fill out a bug report at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm? name=wishform which I did but that was not even acknowledged. I demonstrated the bug to customer support by sharing my screen.
    As for you forums for some reason the forum web site states my Adobe ID is disabled so I can not append or start a thread there id screen name jjmack. I created a new Adobe ID yesterday [email protected] that to seems to be disabled or I can not come up with any screen name the is availably I have tried many. Every simple or outlandish name I have entered generates the same message screen name not available. I'm at my wits end I've been using Photoshop since Photoshop version 3. Over the years it seems to get harder and harder to communicate with Adobe....

    simpler then I first thought. Upon more investigation this is what I see.
    I skipped CS4 and when I installed CS5 I discovered a nasty bug had been introduced is Photoshop's Action facility most likely in CS4.
    Action that add adjustment Layers clipped to the current layer that step is recorded Make adjustment layer with Clip.
    Action that add adjustment Layers not clipped Step records as Make adjustment layer.
    When a step Make adjustment layer with Clip is played back that is what Photoshop does.
    When a step Make adjustment layer is played back what Photoshop does is look at the adjustment panel clipping icon state and and if it is clip to current layer Photoshop does clip the adjustment layer to the current when is should be applied to all.
    Many of the actions I have created add adjustment layer applied to all then later clip them to the current layer. These actions generate an error message if the Adjustment panel clipping icon is set to clip. Because the layer get added clipped clipping it is not available. The strange thing is the layer is clipped the way I wanted it to be. But actions I recorded where I want the adjustment to apply to all are clipped and the is no error message just wrong results.

    Create a one step action that add an adjustment layer that applies to all layers.
    Play that action with the icon in the adjustment panel is set to apply to all layers. Change the status of that icon to clip to layer and play the action again.
    You will find the first adjustment layer was added correctly apply to all layers like it was recorded the second adjustment was added clipped to layer when it should be applied to all...

    July 2 Adobe support called me once again they share my display and I demonstrated the bug for a second time. This time the stated they were recording my demo. After I demonstrated the bug they put me on hold for a while. Upon returning they informed me that there was still no circumvention or fix for this problem. They wanted to know if I was at the latest software level they were still sharing my display so I did a Photoshop Help About Photoshop to show I had the latest update Photoshop version 12.0.1. Told me they were not capable of handling this problem and would have to refer this to senior technical support that they would determine if it was a bug. What a joke Adobe junior technical support can not even recognize a bug when it has been demonstrated to them on two occasions now and also received several case update from me. Adobe you need better support personal.

    Any work around does not solve my problem. Thousands have downloaded my actions. There is no way that I can contact them to make the aware of any work around. I can code around this bug but again I have no way to get the update to those that have downloaded my actions for they are free. All that is logged is the number of downloads. No registration is required so there is no way to contact the users that downloaded my actions. The problem will only be resolved when adobe updates Photoshop and fixes the problem.

    This case should not be closed till there is a fix for this bug. How can Adobe Support close a bug report when Adobe acknowledges its a bug where Adobe Support does not provide a fix. Blowing smoke with statements like "if in the future a resolution or fix is possible, it will be available from the Adobe Systems product update web site". Photoshop CS3 work correctly Adobe broke the Action Player in CS4 and its still broken is CS5. "if a fix is possible!"!!! Are you joking? What kind of support is that? Do you get a bonus for closing bug reports without fixing the bug? Does it make you look good inside Adobe. I can tell you from the outside there is a foul stench emulation from Adobe Technical Support.

    Thank you for getting back to us with the required information and we appreciate your patience in helping us to resolve your issue as soon as possible.
    I would suggest you to please go to through the KB document to move actions from Photoshop CS4 to CS5 given below :
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86020.html
    Please make sure about the loaction of actions which you created or saved in Photoshop CS4, go to that location and make sure you have all the actions there.
    Did it ever work in Photoshop CS5?
    Try to make a copy of the action that he is trying to run, remove the 'Hide' command and re-record hide in PS CS5, put it into the action, and see if that works.
    Or try making a short action along with Hide command . If this works, then something might have got changed between the version.

    Adobe Support Call me and told me it would be fixed in the next release of Photoshop and asked me if they could close the case. I replyed IMO that is not the proper thing to do do what you want...

  • Adding directional blur to adjustment layer/nested sequence

    When adding a directional blur to adjustment layer or a nested sequence in MPE hardware mode the sides get dark (alpha channel shows).
    When turning MPE off the issue is gone.
    Already submitted a bugreport but found out its MPE hardware.
    Seen this issue in a previous version of Premiere. Think it was fixed then, but now its back.
    MPE on:
    MPE off: this is how it should be.
    Can someone test this, and see it its reproducable.

    This is how it looks for me when I take a extension with a alpha channel over a simple BG and turn Cuda on then turn Cuda off.
    The image above is with GPU acceleration turned on.
    This image below this sentence is with software on.
    In a way it appears simliar to your findings since when my GPU accleration is turned on you can see a white boarder creeping up from the bottom and top but with it off you don't see it.
    However when I turn the blur up higher and try it again I get these results.
    GPU On in the image directly below.
    GPU off in the image below this sentence.
    I'm using the exact same blur settings in both images... In the top image you can see that white is taking over the picture.
    This has GPU on in the image below this sentence.
    This is Software only on in the pic below this sentence.
    Not really sure if this confirms anything for you or not though. Just figured I'd post it cause the issue seemed intresting to me. Anyways though here were my findings.

  • Changing skin tones with adjustment layer fails

    Hi,
    I am running PS CC 2014 and all I want to do is to adjust a skin tone to match it to the rest of the bodys skin color.
    I have watched some videos on YouTube but my PS doesnt seem to work that way and I wonder why.
    My workflow:
    Copy background layer.
    Quick select area of body where skin tone has to be changed
    (If necessary: improve selection)
    Now create adjustment layer with gradiation curve
    Select with double click midtone pipette and select one point of the "good skin tone" (also pressing CTRL at the same time when selecting it)
    Confirm with OK.
    Reject box which wants to take over skin tone as standard color.
    Click with pipette in the previously selected skin area which has to be changed.
    Instead of adjusting the color into a good skin color, this area turns into a strange orange color.
    All I can do now is to walk through the single RGB channels to makle adjustments and hope to get anywhere
    near the expected result.
    Where have I gone wrong ? Where does the orange color come from ?
    Any proposals how to get to a reasonable result ?
    Preferably with this workflow. But all other ideas are welcome, too.
    Thx.
    Arnold.

    For what it's worth: I have found that when sculptural modeling is involved, such as the in the hand, working with Curves in LAB (where tone is discrete from color) produces the color change more naturally and provides greater control over local contrast. You may want to consider that alternate approach. In this sample, the left forearm provided the reference color and I chose to lighten the tonal scale a bit.
    One off-topic comment: A shorter than normal focal length lens creates a foreshortening that makes near objects disproportionately large in relation to the rest of the object or scene. In this instance, consider its effect on the hand-head sizes. I would suggest that a focal length at least 1 1/2 times normal would be more appropriate.
    Good luck.

  • PPro cs6 adjustment layer color tint

    I've been working on a project that uses an adjustment layer to apply some secondary color corrections using PPro's Three Way Color Corrector effect. I used just two -- one for a particular shade of red-orange (it's a plastic mixing bowl), and one for a narrow range of blues used in some product packaging (they were fluorescing under the fluorescent lights in a class room). Both of these corrections are narrow (small range of hues and saturations, and a somewhat larger range of luninance values), and the action is simply to lower the saturation to get these specific colors down to broadcast safe levels (as seen on PPro's vectorscope). Since these colors show up quite often in the video footage, and are quite isolated from all the other colors in the scene, I applied them to the whole video using an adjustment layer. Which is one of the intended uses of adjustment layers, yes? And it works beautifully, as expected.
    So far so good. I look at this on my monitor, and it looks fine. I take my laptop to a plasma HDTV and look at it there, and it's spot on.
    Then I used dynamic link to send the project to Encore for DVD output. I worked on menus for a while, and didn't pay much attention to the footage since I had (more or less) edit lock. When I sat down to actually watch one of the more or less complete DVDs, I noticed that the color wasn't right. It was darker and greener than I remembered (this on that same plasma screen HDTV). So I dragged the laptop back, and sure enough, it's darker and greener now.
    To shorten the story, turns out the adjustment layer was the cause. I could turn it on and off using the little eyeball thingie on the timeline, and the adjustment layer is now effecting the entire image and not just the narrow range of reds and blues that are in the secondary color corrections. So I saved the two secondary color corrections as a preset and deleted the adjustment layer. Then I created a new adjustment layer and applied that preset. Boom, problem gone. No more green tint. The same secondary colors as before are under control. What's up with that?
    Now, I can't reproduce it (or I'd attach some images for y'all to look at). But I saw it go by. And I've seen a couple of references to something similar to this in searching the 'net for more information. But only a couple.
    So... Anyone seen anything like that? Or am I just halucinating again? If you've seen it or heard about it, what was the cause? And did it have anything to do with Encore?

    There is a very common misstatement and misunderstanding of how adjustment layers work, which I'll repeat here: "Applying an effect to an adjustment layer applies the effect to all layers under the adjustment layer."
    That's wrong in a subtle but important way.
    What actually happens is that applying an effect to an adjustment layer applies the effect to the composited result from all of the layers under the adjustment layer.
    This is an important distinction, because it puts the adjustment at a different place in the order of operations in the rendering pipeline.
    Anyway, that's a long and perhaps overly theoretical way of saying that, yes, you may see some difference between applying an effect directly to a bunch of clips compared with applying the effect to an adjustment layer over that same bunch of clips.

  • Adjustment Layer For Audio Effects

    We've the latest Adjustment Layer For Video Fx In Premiere now days.....but my question is
    Did premiere have anything like Adjustment Layer....So Basically if you want to add 20 Sound Effects in 40 Clips
    You gonna spend the whole day for doing that...
    If You suddenly want to change some amount in the Audio Effects Panel,that more worst
    Any Advice For That???

    You could add the effect in the track mixer.

  • Re: Photoshop CC - adjustment layer curves issue

    First post here in the discussion,
    Just upgraded CS6 to CC and really enjoy alot of the changes but there seems to be a bug with the adjustment layer curves (not regular curves).
    If I make a change to the curve using modification point and then toggle "undo", the preview of the image will toggle on and off with the change but the modification point does not reset. This point stays in the original position even if the curves are not in effect and will only reset when another layer is selected before returning back to these curves.
    One must also manually reset the point if you wanted to revert back to the original (instead of undo) because if you place another modification point on the curve it will revert back to the change you made earlier.
    Am I missing something or is this a bug?
    Cheers!
    - Elder

    Just repeating what's already been said above.
    Having the same problem with Photoshop CC, tricky to explain this one:
    Working in Curves and/or Selective Color Adjustment layers (probably in any adjustment layer) is very buggy.
    When I do a change f.ex. let's say I'm tweaking inside curves and undo my last change it does reflect it on screen but not in the dialog/palette. So when I do my next tweak both my old tweak (not reflected on screen anymore but still there) and the new one goes into effect.
    It's driving me nuts and have forced me to go back to CS6.

  • Adjustment Layer Crashes Premiere or Damages Project

    Nearly every time I have tried to use an adjustment layer in Premiere Pro CS6, the application has hung if I tried to scrub through the video. Yesterday I decided to try placing an adjustmnet layer and only using the play function rather than scrubbing and it seemed to work alright. However, this morning premiere will no longer open the project file. Instead it give me the error message "The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements." This is an extremely heinous bug! Can anyone help or is this feature really just unusable?!!
    Additionally, because I was so fastidious about saving, given the previous crashes, the only functioning autosave is 6 hours out of date!
    HELP!

    I use ALs a lot, and haven't yet seen this behavior.
    Have you added any effects to the AL?  Does scrubbing work OK without the AL?

  • Applying an adjustment layer / or adjustment TO a layer in a grayscale image is NOT happening!

    I'm a long time user of Photoshop, but must admit to being stumped here. I have a very high resolution scanned image from a B&W antique engraving, and I'm trying to "open up" some of the lines to bring out the details in the engraved image while keeping the image as close to the "line art" B&W of the original as possible.
    I have the image now "cleaned up," having taken out the yellow color casts, etc., and have a grayscale 8-Bit image in the Photoshop file.
    I've discovered that I can use an adjustment TO the layer itself, or an adjustment layer on the layer in the grayscale image to take away some of the density and "open up" the line art a little, so it has better details by effectively "choking" the dark lines back to make them less thick and dense.
    Here's the thing, though:
    When I tried making the adjustments via image > adjustments > levels DIRECTLY ON the layer (instead of using and adjustment layer to achieve this), every time I hit the OK button to accept the adjustments I've made that way, the dialog box closes and the layer seems to revert to looking just the same as it did BEFORE I opened the dialog box to adjust the layer!
    When I try making the adjustments by using an adjustment LAYER, and I try to save the Photoshop image as a TIFF file, I find that when I open the saved TIFF image, the layer adjustment I'm seeing in the source Photoshop file has NOT been applied, and the image in the saved TIFF file looks just as dense as the original, unadjusted image in the Photoshop file!
    What am I doing wrong here?  I want to be able to save out that adjusted image as a TIFF file to use in designs, but I cannot seem to save it as a TIFF that actually CONTAINS or reflects these adjustments after having MADE the adjustments!
    Whazzup?!!

    Well, I took the layered TIFF file you gave to me and opened it in Photoshop, reviewed the adjustment layer in there and its effect -- thanks: you get what I was trying to do -- and then saved it out as a flat TIFF image, and when I reopened it, voila!  it looked like the adjustment had indeed been applied.  So this IS a real head-scratcher indeed.
    I've now tried going back to my source file and doing the same thing.  One thing that I notice is that when I do the Save As of the TIFF with the adjustment layer in it (OR the PSD file, for that matter), when I go to Save YOUR file, the Layer Compression Options are grayed out, but when I go to Save MY file, the Layer Compression Options are active.  I've tried now saving both with RLE layer compression AND As a Copy ("discard layers and save a copy"), and neither works.
    I noticed, too, that your file had the layer below the adjustment layer still as a "Background," instead of a named layer, so I went back and applied an adjustment layer to a copy of my TIFF file, leaving the image in its layer as a Background layer, and still this did not work.
    The only other difference I saw between your TIFF file and mine, is that mine contained transparency, as I've silhouetted away a portion of the image to isolate the central image of the scanned engraving. But even when transparency is not a factor (i.e. I go back and start with a flattened, nontransparent image layer of my TIFF file with a single Background Layer, and I apply the adjustment layer to that, I get the compression options grayed out on Save, and STILL the saved TIFF image I get out of it has "reverted" to the unadjusted appearance.

  • Need to create and adjustment layer to compensate for undesirable hue caused by lens

    I’m looking for some help to set up an adjustment layer to compensate for a specific lens colouration issue. Basically I’m using a GoPro (on a drone) but I have fitted an aftermarket flat lens. Sharpness is good, but the lens has a well known issue – it results in pink hue around the edges/corners. Most of the time it is barely noticeable, other times it jumps out. It also depends on the monitor I am using eg. my TV seems to bring it out a lot more than my laptop.
    Here is an example - look around 0:35 to 0:40 http://vimeo.com/117790732
    And to try get an idea of where the issue is on the frame, I picked an example image of frost covered grass, very early in the morning. I then cranked up the saturation to 100% and this is what it looks like:
    I would like to be able to compensate for this. Presumably this should done with an adjustment layer made in Photoshop which I can then import into Premier Pro. Can anyone advise as to how I do that?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jacques

    Hi Trevor
    Thanks for your reply. I did what you suggested and created 2 masked adjustment layers which are basically concentric rings with differing levels of magenta reduction and I then feathered the edges. I have attached 2 images below to show the before and after effect. I’m working on getting this more accurate and I’m also going to look into the technique posted by Normfb. Big thanks to you Trevor for suggesting this – this is all quite new to me and it was very useful to play around with these adjustments layers, masks etc.

  • How to set levels values in adjustment layer via script?

    I try to make a script which generates a non destructive adjustment layer for levels which already sets values for shadow levels and highlight levels. I tried the scripting listener in order to record it. Unfortunately the scripting listener only records the creation of adjustment layers but not their settings like shadow or highlight levels.
    The first question here: Why can't the scripting listener do this?
    So I tried to do it on my own and came up with the following script which won't work. My second question therefore is, can you help me to make a script which achieves my goal? Thanks a lot. I use Photoshop CC 2014.
    var desc780 = new ActionDescriptor();
    desc780.putInteger( charIDToTypeID( "ShdL" ), 60 );
    desc780.putInteger( charIDToTypeID( "HghL" ), 190 );
    var list126 = new ActionList();
    list126.putObject( charIDToTypeID( "LvlA" ), desc780 );
    var desc779 = new ActionDescriptor();
    desc779.putList( charIDToTypeID( "Adjs" ), list126 );
    executeAction( charIDToTypeID( "Lvls" ), desc779, DialogModes.NO );
    Here is the script which has been recorded by the scripting listener. As you can see there is no setting of the adjustment layer.
    var idMk = charIDToTypeID( "Mk  " );
    var desc188 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var idnull = charIDToTypeID( "null" );
    var ref135 = new ActionReference();
    var idAdjL = charIDToTypeID( "AdjL" );
    ref135.putClass( idAdjL );
    desc188.putReference( idnull, ref135 );
    var idUsng = charIDToTypeID( "Usng" );
    var desc189 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var idType = charIDToTypeID( "Type" );
    var desc190 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var idpresetKind = stringIDToTypeID( "presetKind" );
    var idpresetKindType = stringIDToTypeID( "presetKindType" );
    var idpresetKindDefault = stringIDToTypeID( "presetKindDefault" );
    desc190.putEnumerated( idpresetKind, idpresetKindType, idpresetKindDefault );
    var idLvls = charIDToTypeID( "Lvls" );
    desc189.putObject( idType, idLvls, desc190 );
    var idAdjL = charIDToTypeID( "AdjL" );
    desc188.putObject( idUsng, idAdjL, desc189 );
    executeAction( idMk, desc188, DialogModes.NO );

  • Cross-dissolve from white frame to adjustment layer no longer works in CC 2014

    Windows 7, Premiere Pro CC 2014
    I have a video clip in a nested sequence on V1 and an adjustment layer on V2.
    I want to dissolve from a white frame to the clip using the adjustment layer.
    In PP CC (not 2014) this was simple:
    Starting with a white PNG graphic on V2, cross-dissolve to the adjustment layer.
    However, in PP CC 2014, this causes a dissolve to BLACK over the duration of the dissolve and then a CUT to the video.
    This behavior in CC 2014 is illogical. Why has it changed?
    There are other ways to do this, but this one was quick and easy, and is required for hundreds of clips in existing sequences / projects.
    Response from support via live chat:
    thank you for your patience
    the adjustment is layer is not functioning properly
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en
    please mention it in the feature/bug request form

    For me with a color matte it shows exactly the same behavior as with a PNG.
    You're dissolving between the matte and the adjustment layer on V2?
