Admin Console Authentication Fails

When the credentials for a Groupwise System Administrator contains a colon, the authentication fails for the Administration Console...
Recently had same bug fixed in Sentinel's web interface SAML token... Bug 817681

Never mind, found that it was admin user that caused the issue. Bug will be written

when you say credentials, are you referring to the admin name or the password, or both?

  • Sun GlassFish Mobility Platform Administration Console: Authentication fail

    Dear All,
I have installed Sun GlassFish Mobility Platform and Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v2.1 is also installed in the process. However i can log in to the the Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v2.1. But I can not log in to the Sun GlassFish Mobility Platform, every time i try, it gives a authentication fail. Can anyone please help?
    Regards
    Sahrear

    Hi Tomamiro,
Thanks for your reply. But i tried with username: admin and password: adminpass as was in default configuration. I also tried with password: syncpass, but still no luck. But interestingly i can always log in to the "Sun Glassfish server v2.1 administration console" with the username: admin and password: adminpass. But can never log in to the "SGMP administration console"!
Moving forward, i'm already frustrated with SGMP since the support is not as good as sun's other forums. I may try a fresh installation tomorrow but after that i'm not sure whether i will try again or not. Please let me know how to solve this problem if you can.
I really appreciated your effort, thanks again.

  • Can't access the console - Authentication failed

    Hi,
I've just finished with DS and AM setup (consecutively).
The AM setup was done with Configure Now JES wizard, with Webserver, everything on the same machine - remote doesn't work. Everything fine.
When I try to access the console, I always get the message:
    "Authentication failed.
    Return to Login page"
I've tried admin, amldapuser, amadmin, amAdmin.
The logs in Directory Server says:

    Any suggestions?
    Best regards,
    Luiz Felipe.

I can't remember very well, but I think I reinstalled AM and DS, But I can't remember very well.
BTW, I'm gently answering your question suggesting this tip, but I've gave up about JES. So, don't trust me a lot ;)
Maybe I will try the 2006 version... maybe.

We faced a similar problem recently and we would like to document the solution for it. The root cause of the problem was traced to the absence of certain index configurations in the Directory Server. Because of this Access Manager was unable to fetch certain data from the backend directory during authentication.
At the time of configuration, Access Manager creates certain indexes in the LDAP Directory under the node: cn=index,cn=<databaseName>,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config.
where <databaseName> is the name of the database storing your Access Manager tree e.g. userRoot.
The indexes are created from the file - /etc/opt/SUNWam/config/ldif/index.ldif.
So if you are facing authentication failure problem - please cross check against the index.ldif file and verify the creation of each index. If index on a specific attribute is missing follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
    * Use ldapmodify to upload the file /etc/opt/SUNWam/config/ldif/index.ldif onto each DS instance
    ldapmodify -h <host> -p <port> -D "cn=directory manager" -w <pwd> -a -c -f /etc/opt/SUNWam/config/ldif/index.ldif
    * Run the command db2index.pl to generate new set of indexes to be maintained by the server.

  • Appl Server Admin Console: Login Failed

    Hi,
I am forget my username and password when i installed J2EE appl server. I would like to reset them to new values in order to get in into the admin console. How can reset my login info? Can anyone help?
    Thank you
    Latha

    You could try this:
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/relnotes/troubleshooting.html#1026910
    Or reinstall the appserver.

  • Console Authentication Failed

    I'm trying to set up reverse console access in the lab;
AUX port on router R1 is connected to Console port on switch SW1.
    On R1 I have the following configuration;
    aaa new-model
aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local
aaa authentication enable default group tacacs+ enable
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ if-authenticated
aaa authorization commands 15 default group tacacs+ if-authenticated
aaa authorization reverse-access default group tacacs+ local
    aaa accounting exec default

    aaa session-id common
    line aux 0
    modem InOut
    transport preferred telnet
    transport input all
    transport output all
    flowcontrol hardware
    I can telnet to R1, and then telnet to its own loopback0 interface on port 2001, which connects me to SW1;
    r1#telnet 1.2.3.4 2001
    Trying 1.2.3.4, 2001 ... Open
    User Access Verification
    Username: me
    Password:
    % Authorization failed.
[Connection to 1.2.3.4 closed by foreign host]
    r1#
No matter what configuration I try I always get this "% Authorization failed". I can telnet to SW1, just fine with the following configuration, what's missing to allow reverse access to work correcrtly?
    aaa new-model
aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local
aaa authentication enable default group tacacs+ enable
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ if-authenticated

    line vty 0 4
    session-timeout 5
    access-class 50 in

    transport output all

    Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the input but unfortunately I'm still stumped! I can't see why it wouldn't work, a bit more fiddeling, latest configs are below but it seems like it should work to me. I dropped "aaa authorization reverse-access default group tacacs+ local" from R1, now instead of being able to log into SW1 and get the "% Authorization failed." error, I get nothing and it just hangs indefinatly never actually logging in or failing.

  • Application Deployment works from Admin Console but fails from Workshop?

    Hi all,
I am working on a standard Enterprise portal appliication and i am running into a peculiar problem. My application is made of an EAR let's call it my-portal-ear that contains a web app, my-portal-web. I created a Server in Workshop (9.2 like my Weblogic Server version) based on myDomain and added my EAR and it used to deploy and run fine until i decided to change my web app's name in my web.xml and rebuild and redeploy. I made a change to my weblogic.xml as well. I've tried republishing my application through my server view and that's when the trouble started. Ever since then i get either a deployment time out error, or another kind of error but i narrowed it down to the following lines in my server log.
To make a long story short, it seems that instead of calling the
    {color:#3366ff}*1223616516281*
*000000 TailEJBCacheFlow starting cache scrubbers for*
    app: my-portal-ear
{color:#000000}like in the correct deployment (from the console), Workshop's deployment calls
    {color}{color:#3366ff}{color:#000000}{color:#3366ff}*1223613492359*
*000000 destroyServlet: Destroying all servlets named:*
    *'wsrp-1.0-ServiceDescriptionPortComponent'*
{color:#000000}All my servlets are destroyed, my Spring session is closed, my beans are destroyed, my ear is removed and deployment fails with the following error:

I've tried changing my workspace, deleting and creating a new Workshop server, the only thing i haven't tried yet is deploying on a new domain because setting up the domain for my app is a PITA and i don't want to go through it if i don't have to.
    Thanks in advance!

In both ways, with Direct Call option selected or deselected, the behaviour is the same.
I cannot explain, why the replay of the request does not work from outside the Service Bus. Is there some sort of unique data mixed into the CipherValue data or something like that?

    hi,Jay
i followed the steps as follow:
    1、change prod mode to dev
2、modified the config.xml entrys on the all two servers:
    <node-manager-password-encrypted>test</node-manager-password-encrypted>
    <credential-encrypted>test</credential-encrypted>
    <embedded-ldap>
    <name>cluster_domain</name>
    <credential-encrypted>test</credential-encrypted>
    </embedded-ldap>
3、enrolled the node, then started the two adminservers, started server2's nodemanager..server2 can be started from the cluster admin console.
4、change the dev mode to prod mode on admin console, it failed throw error:
"in production mode, it's not allowed to set a clear text value to the property: CredentialEncrypted of SecurityConfigurationMBean"
i checked the config.xml ,the entrys i had changed were not aotomatically encrypted, may i manually encryp the clear text value? ..follow is the config.xml :

  • Sun Oner Application Server 7 Admin Console doesn't start

When I start the Admin Console for Sun One Application Server 7, and after I login, the admin console doesn't display in the browser. I have tried starting the admin console with IE and Netscape browser, but the admin console has failed to start in either IE or netscape.

    -Type this in your IE
    http://localhost:4848
-IF it does not work type the following
http://kishan:4848 ("kishan" is your machine name)
-IF it does not work do the following
Forgot the Admin Server Port Number? If you do not remember the HTTP server port number of the administrative server, you can inspect the administrative server's configuration file to determine the HTTP server port number.
    1. Navigate to the <domain_config_dir>/domain1/admin-server/config/ directory.
    2. Open the server.xml file in your favorite editor. Look for the element:
    <http-listener id="http-listener-1" address="0.0.0.0" port="4848"...
In this case, port 4848 is the HTTP port number in use.
Forgot the Username or Password? If you do not remember the administrative user name that was supplied during installation, try the user name "admin". This is the default user name specified in the server configuration dialog during installation. If you still cannot determine the user name, look in the following file:
    <domain_config_dir>/domain1/admin-server/config/admpw
This file contains the administrator's user name followed by the encrypted form of the administrative user's password.
If you do not remember the administrator's password, then you can delete the administrative domain using the delete-domain subcommand of asadmin and create a new domain with a new administrative password.
Port Not Accessible? If the connection was refused when attempting to contact the administrative server's admin console application, it is likely that the administrative server is not running. Go back to the beginning of this section and double check the your startup procedures and the content of the administrative server's log file to determine the reason why the server is not running.

  • Authentication Failed :  BPEL Console and BPEL Admin

    Hi ,
I am trying to log in to BPEL Console repeatedly. I am using the user oc4jadmin. I have logged in successfully previously using oc4jadmin.
I read somewhere that a workaround is
"Workaround is you take login_error.jsp off from URL http://<host>:<port>/BPELConsole/login_error.jsp, So your URL would look like http://<host>:<port>/BPELConsole/. This will automatically log you in. Since the problem was with redirection and not with your credentials"
This is also not working for me.
Could it be possible that I have locked this account ? Is so, how can I unlock it .
Any suggestions on why I get repeatedly Authentication Failed ?

    Thanks for the response .

  • WLST deploy fails but works fine via admin console

    RHEL 5.6

    Weblogic 10.3
    Alfresco 3.3.4 (295)

I'm experiencing problems when attempting to deploy a WAR using WLST using the below python script. If I deploy this WAR using the Weblogic Admin Console, all works well. When I attempt the same deployment using WLST, the deployment 'appears' to work and the script shows no sign of error BUT the application does NOT show up at all in the admin console. I'm using the same authentication information in both scenarios.

    Hi Sebastian,
You need to be connected to master database when executing GRANT VIEW SERVER. Try the following it will work:
    USE [master]
    GO
GRANT VIEW SERVER STATE TO [Domain\User]

  • Regarding Participant Creation::Authentication in Oracle BPM Admin Console

    Hi,
Q1:- Could anyone help me in validating whether we can additional information about participant in Admin console. The parameters available for Participant creation are:
UserId, First Name,Last Name, Email, Password, Confirm Passowrd, etc.
Now suppose, I want to add Manager's information also like Manager's Name and Manager's ID with the Participant information. These fields are not present in Participant Creation form.
Is it possible to add these information also?? If yes, how??
Q2:- We are using PAPI API where we have ASP.net which is used as Front-End and thru PAPI, BPM process is initiated which means we are not going to use BPM Workspace at all. Is it possible that we can disable the Authentication property of BPM Engine when we require interaction with external .net application via PAPI API. Please suggest?
    Thanks in advance,
    Abhishek

    Hi,
not any thing new from the already given answer. But, i hope this examples gives more clarity.
    Answers below:
    1) ORACLE_SID is the answer
    2) see the output below.
    SQL> startup nomount
    ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 61785680 bytes
    Fixed Size 730704 bytes
    Variable Size 58720256 bytes
    Database Buffers 2048000 bytes
    Redo Buffers 286720 bytes
    SQL> select instance_name from v$instance;
    INSTANCE_NAME
    mytestdB
    SQL>
    SQL> show parameter db_name
    NAME TYPE
    VALUE
    db_name string
    mytestdB
    3) Check environment variables for ORACLE_HOME variable will let you know the location of the PFILE. By default it will be ORACLE_HOME/database (windows), ORACLE_HOME/dbs (LINUX/UNIX).
SET command will help you or use widows options.
In some other cases, the PFILE contains the link to it with IFILE value left in PFILE which should show the location.
    4) Check environment variables for ORACLE_HOME variable will let you know the location of the password file. By default it will be expected in ORACLE_HOME/database (windows), ORACLE_HOME/dbs (LINUX/UNIX).
