Admin page won't open

I've installed ColdFusion MX7 Standard on my Windows 2003
server which is running IIS 6.0.
When I try to go to
http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/Administrator/index.cfm
it prompts for the login. The server is a domain controller so I
use the administrator account. It thinks about and comes back and
asks for the login again.
If I setup IIS to allow anonymous login it tells me that the
account does not have permissions to access the file even though I
gave the IIS_Server account full rights to \CFIDE directory.
Any ideas? Is there another directory I need to setup rights
for? Also, I have JAVA 1.06 installed so I'm not sure what impact
that has either.

Argh! First of all this was a funny thread, absolutely no one

Anyway, I have the SAME exact problem, except, this fix
doesn't work because I am not running 64bit windows server.
I am running Windows Server 2003 Standard w/SP1, IIS 6,
JRUN4, and CFMX7.
I have configured everything correctly like 5 times over now,
i have configured hundreds and hundreds of CF 5, CFMX6 servers all
with IIS 5 or 6 and JRUN4, and I am not doing anything differently.
I have triple and quadruple checked all the permissions
<everywhere>.
yet still I get that SAME error you described when I
try to access the CF admin page, and any of the default websites I
tried to create, they all popup windows authentication and I use my
local admin account and they will not even accept that, IUSER
account is what all sites are set for anon access and I gave IUSR
acct read access to all www root folders.
As far as installing from the server itself, I know we have
installed mostly all of our cold fusion apps after the boxes were
rackedup in the datacenter so, although not impossible, it is not
practical for me to gain access to that server just to install CF?
The first part of your fix doesn't apply since I am not running
64-bit WIndows.
Anyway was wondering if there were any other, even minor,
changes that you made before this worked?
I have combed through IIS and windows users and permissions
settings etc and nothing is giving me any clue why I cannot access
it.

Please elaborate on what exactly you mean by it "won't open".
Do you try to launch it and get an error message from the Finder (for example, something like "This application is damaged and cannot be launched....")? Does an icon for the application ever appear in the Dock when you try to launch it? Does it start to launch and then immediately crashes (Finder will display an "unexpectedly quit" dialog)? Or does it start to launch and never seems to "finish" launching (in other words, it basically hangs and is unresponsive)?
If the application crashes, please post the contents of the crash log here.
Otherwise, if the application seems to be hanging, can you, before attempting to launch it, open the Console.app application (it's in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder), and see if anything is reported when you attempt to launch it? If so, please post it here.

How come pages won't open PDF files made by Pages?
I have files I made with Pages and exported as PDF but I can't open them with pages to edit?
Also, where are the recent files created by pages located? Can't find those to open either..

I was delighted when I signed up for Pages. Clunky yes, but it worked. I've been a graphic designer on a Mac for 25 plus years and have logged too many horror stories of "upgrade" wars which cost me massive lost time, data and money forcibly extracted just so I could finish a project.
When I first used Pages in April of 2012? or there about, I was able to open Word documents exported to .pdf format, emailed to me, which I then dragged into Pages. I could make the changes I needed to make, export as a .pdf, return it back to my client which they could then edit on whatever it was they were using. I'm not a neophyte with this. I've had Original Photoshop as a stand alone, Quark (which locked users out 6 months after I purchased it.) Quark again, Freehand, Pagemaker, Illustrator, Photoshop again, Creative Suite for several upgrades, Acrobat Pro. 2 years ago I lost 6 years of Quicken data and had to and "upgrade" start over. This last go around I had to "upgrade" my Apple ID - yes I had 2 on purpose, lost my Pandora One and my ability to get into the Tulsa County Library website.
At this point, I'm retired and feel like what I've paid for in the past should WORK today. I have a 100+ page cookbook in Quark which I was able to export as a .pdf, that I've lost the tags too, Easier to start over. I have artwork that is hundreds of megs in Photoshop. Not the least bit interested in anybody's "cloud".
Thanks for letting me vent. I'm determined to keep my equipment and software up to date so I can enjoy the skills I've acquired, but I completely cringe at Apple's antics. I truly hate it when I have to respond to some new "tip" or product offer. BooHiss. Happy Turkey Day. Pages is a "turkey" program.

The page won't open when I click on the firefox icon I go to system preferences for dianostics and "the settings have been changed by another application" I can't close that message to keep on working.

Are you referring to a wireless router, such as an Airport Express? If so, and you bought a different router, you will need to set up the new router according to their instructions. With my Netgear, I had to go to their online website (they should have the URL listed in the instructions) and set it up there because the software that comes with routers is not compatible with Macs.
If you're talking about something else, then please let me know - I've just never heard of an Airport modem.

Pages won't open on ipad 1

I am trying to access an excel file in my dropbox, but pages won't open on IPad 1. Any ideas? I shut it down, then turned back on. No difference.

Double tap Home button and delete Pages from multitask-bar.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
Try again with Pages.
If no joy, delete Pages and redownload again.

Try quitting Pages and then reset your iPad.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

What I did to get this issue:
- My file was created a month ago in Pages 5.1
- Today, I opened the file normally
- I clicked "duplicate" in order to make a back up from the current version
- The loading wheel kept running for a few minutes...Maybe my cache memory too busy?
- so, I "forced to quit" Pages
- I try to open my doc again in Pages 5.1, now it's a failure!!
- Then i tried to open on another Macbook with Pages 5.1 = Failure
- I updated Mavericks latest updates = Failure to open my doc
- Try to open in pages 4.3 = It says: "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document..."
I need a fix asap, it's terribly important to get my document back

Partial success in that I have been able to get mails onto the iPad - however....
Progress from a previous 'rumage' on problem discussions. I have succeded in setting up the iPad so that it receives emails from the sky address under 'MAIL' on the iPad. However trying to open in the 'usual' way - safari - then sky - then email - enter user name and password - I get the same result - it just returns to the log in menu for sky email with user name and password blank.
I had a previous problem with the sky mail ceasing to show recent mails, frozen in time on the iPad. Somehow by trying some reset instructions I was able to 'unlock' the iPad and all was OK until it 'froze' again. This time I clearly screwed up attempts to unlock, resulting in not being able to access email accounts via the Sky site !!

TS1702 Pages won't open!

Pages won't open, downloaded from a friends iTunes account, worked until synced with computer, now won't open, help!!!

No the files will not transfer, if you download the app. I'm guessing that the files might be gone anyway now if the app will not work, but I'm not sure of that.
What I'm wondering about is how the app worked at all unless you were signed into your friend's account on your iPad. Is that how you were using the app?

First, we are all just users like yourself so it's not "your" updates. Which updates have you applied & in what order?
Quite a few users have had problems. From what I've read of those who have had success, this is what I suggest. It all depends on how you obtained Pages in the first place.
If you bought Pages from the Mac App Store:
Delete the Pages.app from your Applications folder. You will need to enter your password to do so.
Launch Mac App Store & click on Purchases. You should now see an INSTALL button. Click that, enter your password, if necessary, & you should now have the latest version.
If you installed Pages from a retail box or purchased a license from the downloaded trial:
First, you must make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. All three applications must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
Now, choose Software Update from the Apple menu, from System Preferences or launch the Mac App Store & click Updates. You should get a window similar to this screenshot. Now click the Update button next to iWork 9.2.

It's the App on my iPad called "pages" I have created a files some are white which means I can access them and some are grey these I can't access I was able to approx a month ago but now they are grey and say I can't open them because they are updating? This has been going on for a month.
I have tried syncing iPad to do an update and this does nothing, I have also turned off and restarted but nothing!

Installed iWork '09 on MacBook running OSX 10.7.2 and Pages won't open .doc files. Why?

I just recently installed iWork '09 on MacBook running OSX 10.7.2 and Pages won't open .doc files.
I did a search looking for a solution in the forums and here are the actions I've taken:
1) Made sure the files were't read/write protected.
2) Restarted the computer.
3) Made sure all the program files were in the correct folder.
4) Reinstalled the program.
Pages won't read .doc files that were originally Pages files and exported as .docs
It also won't read .doc files that were created using a relatively recent version of Office.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Please help.

If it's a doc created with the late Office 2011, it's not really surprising.
The importer embedded in iWork application was delivered in january 2009 and didn't evolve.
For this reason, it's unaware of new features delivered with Office 2011.
Better try with LibreOffice.

Certain pages won't open

For the past 2 days facebook and other pages won't open on safari. I have tried software updates, clearing history and trash. I am not sure what else to try, this is the first problem I've encountered with Mac ( I converted in June). I also need to mention that all of the pages that will not open on my computer will open on my boyfriend's pc.

No changes whatsoever (updates, apps, etc...). The only difference is that 2 days ago I came home from a 2 wk visit with my parents. While there, my mac was working fine opening all websites. Before my visit my mac worked fine at home, too. I am very baffled. I have now cleared my cache as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
