Admin server segfaults

Question

I get this error message when installing under Redhat 7.3:

Configuration of the Administration Server succeeded.
SunONE-WebServer-Enterprise/6.0SP3 B05/14/2003 18:35
failure: server terminated (signal 11) (Interrupted system call)
failure: server initialization failed (Interrupted system call)
Administration server did not start properly.
[snip]
I got a very similar message installing on a different machine, under RedHat 9.0 (signal 11, but this time due to "no such file or directory").
I know only RedHat 7.2 is officially supported, but I don't have a spare box to run 7.2 on, so its 7.3 or 9.0...
Anyone have any idea what to do to get it to work?

Using Redhat Linux 9
Also tried Redhat AS3
I experience the same problem described in this thread.
During setup this output is displayed:
SunONE-WebServer-Enterprise/6.0SP3 B05/14/2003 18:35
failure: server terminated (signal 11) (No such file or directory)
failure: server initialization failed (No such file or directory)
Administration server did not start properly.
Configuration of the server(s) succeeded.
And when trying to start the admin server it fails with this output:
]# ./start-admin
SunONE-WebServer-Enterprise/6.0SP3 B05/14/2003 18:35
]# failure: server terminated (signal 11) (No such file or directory)
failure: server initialization failed (No such file or directory)
And when trying to start the concole it fails with this output:
]# ./startconsole

Reinstallation using Express, Typical, and Custom methods arrive at these same results.
