Administered account's sound disabled
I am running 10.6.8 and have setup 2 administered accounts for my children with parental controls. We have suddenly noted that the one account has no sound whereas the administrator account and one administered account are fine. When I say no sound I mean none, not even when you check the sound through the system preferences.
Then all of a sudden the administrator account lost all sound and was only resolved until I signed out of the administered accounts.
Any thoughts on this little problem will be much appreciated as you can just imagine how many complaints there are that they can't hear the sound for their LEGO games.
System Profiler → Hardware → Audio (Built In) reports Intel HDA with Headphone, Line Input, External Microphone / iPhone Headset and HDMI Output.
In the kernel.log, I see a few lines like:
Dec 19 00:59:39 iMac kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-199.4.12/AppleHDA/AppleHDAWidget.cpp" at line 3915 goto handler
It does not sound good… No pun intended.

Sounds like your account has been disabled, sometimes to protect you if someone has tried to access it...
Can you log in at http://appleid.apple.com ? You may be able to gain access again through here.
If not, you can email the iTunes store at www.apple.com/support/iTunes and they can assist you. -

I am about to pull my hair out. My itunes account has been disabled............or at least that's what it says everytime I want to update my apps....I can't do it. Then it sends me to a useless web address www.apples.com/itunes/storesupport/forassistance it never helps me. I've changed my password, etc. But I can't get my apps updated or the "Apple" in the sky to fix it...I don't know where to go for customer service....Any suggestions?

KathyI updated the software on my iphone4 tonight and ran into this same endless loop - "itunes terms & conditions have been changed" - go to itunes, aceept - back to the "T&C have been changed message" with no ability to do anything in the app store until I accepted the new terms.
While not a very direct solution, I was able to finally accept the terms in a way that seem to register with apple by making a purchase through iTunes on my computer. This forced me through updating my payment information and updating my iTunes software to the latest edition (which I had not yet taken the time to do). After doing both of these, iTunes took me through the terms & conditions on two separate pages, but ultimately allowed me to purchase my song. Once I completed these steps, it fixed the problem on my phone, so now I can update my apps and download new ones without running into that loop.

My Apple ID account has been disabled.
My Apple ID account has been disabled. Whenever I try to login to my account to update apps on my mac or iPhone, I get a message that my account has been disabled. If I try to reset my account, I am told to enter the Recovery Key from my two-factor authentication setup. While I do have two-factor authentication on, I never saved the recovery key. A few days ago I called Apple Support and they eventually told me that the account would be unlocked unlocked after 8 hours, and then I could try my password again. This is obviously not the case.
I'm trying to figure out my next steps. Obviously Apple can't reset my account over the phone. However, the website seems to indicate that I will have to create a new account. Is there a way I can prove I am the owner of my account? Like if I brought my macbook and/or iPhone into the Apple store, would they be able to verify my account/identity and open my account? Also, if I needed a new account, would I be able to transfer my purchases over from my old one?I doubt the Apple store could do anything. They would end up calling Apple support too. If you called support and they agreed to unlock the account but haven't, call them back.
Apple officially states that purchases are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them and can't be transferred. You would have to ask if they could/would do this under the circumstance. -

When I try to purchase a song in the iTunes store I get the above message. I've gone to the page it suggests but i just can't see where to re-enable my account.

Account constantly getting disabled
Every 3 or 4 days, I get a message saying that my account has been disabled for security reasons and have to reset my password. Why does this keep happening? Is someone attempting to guess my password, causing the lockout? If someone is trying to access my iDisk and enters the wrong password several times, will that lock out account? I'm stumped.
I am assuming that this is your iTunes password?
If it helps; if it's disabled for security reasons, this means that someone is incorrectly guessing your password, and is then locked out.
Try contacting them about this, they might be able to tell you what's going on.

My password for my iTunes account. Every time I try to update an app from my phone it tells me that my account has been disabled. Then gives me the prompt to reset my account. I did that and got the conformation email that I changed my password but I still cannot update my apps from the app store on my phone. Accounts on server disabled after PC updates

If you've successfully changed your password (does your account work on your computer's iTunes ?) then try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
