Administration guide book?

I recently inherited management of an xsan system (admin software v. 3). Can you recommend a book to help me get going? Everything I see is related to v. 2.
Would it be ok to buy the v. 2 books (such as the PeachPit book) and just figure out the differences as I go?
Thanks.

You can find Xsan 3 documentation in the OS X Server Advanced Admin Guide. The Xsan Admin Guide v2.3 is still a very useful resource.

  • Oracle Student System Implementation and Administration Guide Required...

    Hi every one.
    Any one have following books:
Oracle Student System Implementation and Administration Guide, Volume 1, Release 11i
Oracle Student System Implementation and Administration Guide, Volume 2, Release 11i
If any one have please share with me. I need it urgently.
    Thanx in advance.

It seems you have got a syntax error in your sql statement, I suppose you left out the value for the maximal size.
I would try something like this in sqlplus:
alter database datafile '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata1/system_1/system.data1' autoextend on maxsize 10240m
    Or perhaps this:
alter database datafile '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata1/system_1/system.data1' autoextend on maxsize unlimited
(of course substitute your path of a datafile.)
    hope this helps

I'm looking for an EP6 Administration guide.  Is there such a document in existence?  If so, any pointers would be appreciated.  BTW, I am aware of the SAP-press book, "SAP Enterprise Portal", but I'm looking for something specific to EP6, not generic.

That's OK.  We race to be the first responder, because we are sad geeks, and first responder sounds like something from a TV reality program.  Benjamin actually has flashing lights and a siren on his computer.

From the OEM Cloud Control documentation library, the HTML and PDF links to "Cloud Administration Guide" returns an error page 404.

<s>All the links are working fine except the one I was talking about, "Cloud Administration Guide". The html link is pointing to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e28814/toc.htm which does not work from the Netherlands.</s><br>

  • PhpMyAdmin - Guide books?

Hi, I wonder if someone could suggest a good guide book for using phpMyAdmin, - including setting up tables, relational database management, importing/exporting data and SQL queries.
I'm thinking of purchasing a copy of 'Mastering phpMyAdmin 2.11 for Effective MySQL Management' by Marc Delisle.  Also ..... should I consider buying 'Mastering phpMyAdmin 3.1 for Effective MySQL Management' even though my ISP uses phpMyAdmin 2.11.7?
    Many thanks, Simon
    http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/docs.php#books

AFAIK, Marc Delisle's book is the only one. I've got the original edition based on phpMyAdmin 2.6.0. It's well written, but I'm not sure whether you really need a book to learn how to use phpMyAdmin, because it's pretty intuitive once you understand the basics of working with a database. The book doesn't go into detail about database design.
My own books on Dreamweaver and PHP cover the basics of working with phpMyAdmin, including importing and exporting data. You can see details on my site at http://foundationphp.com/.
If you decide to get Marc's book, though, it don't think it matters a great deal which version you get. phpMyAdmin has changed a bit, but not radically so. The main change between phpMyAdmin 2.x and 3.x is the use of PHP 5 in the new version, plus support for MySQL 5.1.

  • URL Access Policy - Administration Guide

    Hi,
I'm working my way thru the Administration Guide and I'm looking at the URL
Access Policy. I added a URL to allow (http://www.yahoo.com) and a URL to
deny (http://www.sportsline.com) for my user fooUser in MyDomain_1. I then
login the IP Portal as fooUser.
What form of the URL is the Bookmarks URL entry box expecting? I have tried
the following and gotten the corresponding results:
    http://www.sportsline.com access allowed
    http://www.yahoo.com access allowed
    http://myServer:myPort/http://www.sportsline.com page cannot be found
    http://myServer:myPort/http://www.yahoo.com page cannot be found
    http://myServer:myPort/www.sportsline.com page cannot be found
    http://myServer:myPort/www.yahoo.com page cannot be found
I also tried http://myServer:myPort/MyDomain_1/www.sportsline.com and got
    page cannot be found
Can someone shed some light on this for me?
    Mike

You should be able to just put in the URL as you normally would.
Now, if you are running through the SRAP gateway (versus "open mode")
the url that should be launched in your browser should automatically append
the url to your gateway, with some characters escaped, so it would be (I hope
this doesn't get converted to a link!)
    http://myServer:myPort/http%3A//www.sportsline.com
But! (I'm not 100% on this). If the website is not in your domain, the gateway
does not care. It will let you access it, as it is implicit that you could open
a separate browser window and access the site directly.
In open mode (without the gateway), basically, everything is open, so
it doesn't make much sense to be able to block it. If you don't put it
in the URL Bookmarks box, then you could just open a new browser
    window and access it directly!
