Administration Utilities in 11gR1 UCM

I would like to run Administration Utilities as standalone applications instead of running them as applets from within Content Server.
I am running UCM/WebLogic 11gR1 on Windows 7. I do not have any Administration Utilities in my Start Menu.
I found a few spots that talked about changing some stuff in System Properties to set it up, however I cannot even find that in my Start Menu.
Any help in how to run the Admin Applets as standalone applications would be great.
Thanks,
Jonathan

You get access to the admin utilities easily enough. I am sure it is documented somewhere but I do not know where...
Steps I have found to work
1)Login to UCM as weblogic
2)Go to UserAdmin applet and restore the sysadmin password to idc (it is a crime for it to be anything else on a dev system) you need to do this
3)You can run SystemProperties from <middleware_home>/user_projects/domains/<your_domain>/ucm/cs/bin/SystemProperties (you will find all your old friends in here!
4)Add the JDBC details so you can connect to the Java apps that need DB access (like archiver etc.) on the Database tab. I will guess that youl need to use the Oracle JDBC thin driver so select this and then fill in the details for JDBC user/passwd and connection string.
5)Start Batchloader/Archiver etc. from <middleware_home>/user_projects/domains/<your_domain>/ucm/cs/bin/ and login with the sysadmin credentials
If this works for you please mark the thread as answered as I expect others may benefit from this too.

  • Administration Utilities - System Health Monitor - alui 6.1

    I'm curious if there is a way I can turn the System Health Monitor utility into a portlet?
    It seems like there should an easy way to do this, but I can't seem to find it. Any insight you might be able to provide on either the System Health Monitor or the administration utilities. Or anything that might help for that matter, would be be most appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi geoffgarcia, thanks for looking into my question. I have tried to pass the existing URL back in, as you have suggested, but with no luck. For example:
    > Create new Web Service : URL : http://[MYPORTALSERVER]/portal/server.pt?open=space&name=diagnostic&psname=ObjMgr&psid=3&cached=true&control=EditorStart&editorType=10
    and then generate a portlet to that service. When I add that portlet to my homepage it throws a
    "Error      Error - The server has experienced an error. Try again or contact your portal administrator if you continue experiencing problems."
    error, but doesn't log the error. View source shows the error to be
    "Current User does not have sufficient permission to object with id = 52: com.plumtree.server.marshalers.PTException.... blah blah blah...."
    Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing a glaringly obvious setting/configuration?
    Thanks again,
    -Kevin

  • SB1- Administration- Utilities- Execute Commands (menu path)

    Hi EveryOne,
      I have a question about Execute Commands and internal macro language in SB1.
    I want know how to use this function.
    Many times I send question to SB1 Support Center about Execute commands , but still no answer.
    I never find any good description this function of SB1.
    Have anyone knowledge about Execute Commands in SB1?.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris
    ps.
    In SAP Business One help file I find only this text:
    'Use this function to execute automatic procedures based on the defined files. Processes are first defined (in an internal macro language) and can then be executed automatically.
    Please contact your SAP Business One Support Center before you try to use this function.'

    SAP support note 733233 says:
    "The Execute Commands option is an old function which was relevant before the SDK tools were available.
    This function is being use in Israel localization only."
    I would assume that it is only still there to keep compatibility with some old customers who were using it.  I don't think it would be a good idea to try and use it for any new developments.

  • Doubt about Administration\Utilities\Restore\Restore Numbering File

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to use this functionnality ?
    Somebody tell that this functionnality was forbidden by SAP. If there use it, the support of SAP was not available.
    So it is prohibited by SAP or not ???
    Thanks.

    HI,
    I really do not know.
    Sometimes, when webex has done by SAP fixing some problems (eg: primary keys, duplicated entries) the SAP Active support was using this.
    Otherwise it is cheking the document numbering for duplicates.
    On TEst or DEvelopment systems I think we can use it.

  • How do I create a group calendar?

    Hi All,
    It is still unclear to me on a fresh 10.6 install how to create a group calendar (using only the Apple server administration utilities) such that all members of a given OpenLDAP group can also subscribe to and share the same calendar if they are members of that group.
    As best I can tell, there does not appear to be anything about this in the documentation. I thought this was something that was going to be supported via the server-admin tools in 10.6 without resorting to the command line.
    Maybe I'm just not seeing something obvious in the tools or documentation?

    You said "you need to go to the wiki page and add the wiki's there...." What is the "wiki page" you mention? Is that some place I go to via the browser or the Server Admin tool?
    I went to http://ical.mysite.com/ical/ and logged in as the Directory Administrator but didn't see anything resembling what you described.

  • ECX_MAP_NOT_FOUND error while validating ERES event.

    Dear All,
    I have performed AME and E-records setups as mentioned on metalink under various notes. But my i am facing below issues:
    1. 'E-Record Details' is not enabled in 'Tools1' menu. It's still disabled.
    2. No Approval Email is getting triggered and Intermediate Status is not applied in the SR.
    3. when I validate the event 'oracle.apps.cs.sr.ServiceRequestApproval' (ERES Administrator-->Utilities-->Validate Event.), I am getting the below error under XML Payload Section.
    An unexpected error has occurred while generating the XML payload. ORA-20001: The DB to XML transformation has failed with the following error: ECX_MAP_NOT_FOUND. The log file details are: ecx.plsql.out.61034.1609.log ORA-06512: at "APPS.APP_EXCEPTION", line 72 ORA-06512: at "APPS.EDR_UTILITIES", line 1488 ORA-06512: at line 2
    Could anyone help me to resolve this error for "ECX_MAP_NOT_FOUND"?
    I noticed that there is NO data in ECX_MAPPINGS table for the event when I run the below query
    SELECT * FROM ECX_MAPPINGS WHERE MAP_CODE like 'oracle.apps.cs.sr.ServiceRequestApproval';
    I am using Oracle EBS R12.1.3.
    The same issue was reported by Mr. Harish Nunna (ERES process is giving error in Case Management) but it was not answered there.
    Thanks,
    Nitesh Sharma

    Solution:
    Add a new Subscription Parameter called EDR_XML_MAP_CODE for "oracle.apps.cs.sr.ServiceRequestApproval" business event:
    1. Login as SYSADMIN user
    2. (R) Workflow Administrator Web Applications responsibility
    3. (N) Administrator Workflow: Business Events
    4. Search for Name = oracle.apps.cs.sr.ServiceRequestApproval
    5. Click on "Subscription" icon
    6. Click on Update pen icon
    7. Update Event Subscriptions page will load
    8. Click on Next
    9. At the Subscription Parameters section click on Add Another Row button
    10. Add EDR_XML_MAP_CODE with oracle.apps.edr.erectxt.create value and Apply.

  • ITunes wont detect iPhone 4

    Hey,
    I just got my iPhone in the mail today and unpacked it and plugged it into my computer and it installed a drive as normal and then it showed it was connected to my computer, So I open up iTunes and my iPhone 4 seems to not of been detected by iTunes.
    My computer is calling the device "Apple iPhone, Digital Camera" which I guess shows that my cable is fine and it will connect but its a problem with iTunes?
    I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, is there anything I can try.
    Things I have done:
    Restarted Computer
    Un-installed iPhone driver and re-installed it.
    I am out of options, Hope someone can help.

    I had this problem... you just update the iPhone device driver.
    Go to Device Manager (Start> type "Device Manager" in search field), under Portable Devices (might also be under imaging devices), look for Apple iPhone and right click it. Click to browse online to update the driver software.
    Also make sure Apple Mobile Device and iPod Service are running (Administrative Utilities>Services). If they are, might restart them anyway.

  • Oracle 8 security risks

    ISS Security Advisory
    May 6, 1999
    Multiple File System Vulnerabilities in Oracle 8
    Synopsis:
    Internet Security Systems (ISS) X-Force has discovered that
    multiple vulnerabilities exist in Oracle 8 that may allow local
    attackers to exploit weaknesses in Oracle administrative tools.
    Oracle is the market leader in enterprise database solutions.
    Attackers may use these vulnerabilities to amplify their
    privilege to that of the foracleF user. By default, the oracle
    user controls the entire Oracle database system. Attackers may
    launch local denial of service attacks against the database as
    well as alter or manipulate data.
    Affected Versions:
    ISS X-Force has determined that most current versions of Oracle
    8 for Unix are vulnerable. These versions include 8.03, 8.04,
    8.05, and 8.15. Oracle 8 for Windows NT is not affected by
    these vulnerabilities.
    Description:
    The Oracle 8 distribution is shipped with many administrative
    utilities that are owned by the oracle user with the setuid bit
    enabled. Several of these utilities implement insecure file
    creation and manipulation. These utilities also trust Oracle-
    related environment variables. The combined effect of these
    vulnerabilities may allow local attackers to create, append to,
    or overwrite privileged oracle files. Certain vulnerabilities
    exist that may allow local attackers to execute arbitrary
    commands as the oracle user. Attackers may also be able to
    permanently elevate their privilege to that of the oracle user.
    Temporary files that follow symbolic links are a common source
    of vulnerabilities in setuid executables. Administrators should
    remove or restrict access to setuid executables if possible.
    Developers of setuid programs need to take special precautions
    to prevent
    the introduction of vulnerabilities of this nature. ISS X-Force
    recommends
    that all Unix developers become familiar with Matt BishopFs
    secure
    programming guide, available at
    http://olympus.cs.ucdavis.edu/~bishop/secprog.html
    Fix Information:
    ISS X-Force has worked with Oracle to provide a patch for the
    vulnerabilities described in this advisory. Oracle has provided
    the following FAQ to answer any questions concerning these
    vulnerabilities.
    Q: IFve heard about a setuid security issue with the Oracle
    database? What is this all about?
    A: On Unix platforms, some executable files have the setuid bit
    on. It may be possible for a very knowledgeable user to use
    these executables to bypass your system security by elevating
    their operating system privileges to that of the Oracle user.
    Q: Which releases are affected by this problem?
    A: This problem affects Oracle data server releases 8.03, 8.0.4,
    8.0.5, and 8.1.5 on Unix platforms only.
    Q: Can I correct this problem or do I need a patch?
    A: This problem can easily be corrected. The customer can
    download the patch from the Oracle MetaLink webpages at
    http://www.oracle.com/support/elec_sup. The patch is a Unix
    shell script. This shell script should be run immediately, and
    also run after each relink of Oracle.
    Q: What is Oracle doing to fix this problem?
    A: Effective immediately, Oracle will provide the patch on
    OracleFs Worldwide Support Web pages. Oracle will ensure the
    patches are incorporated into future releases of Oracle8i
    (8.1.6) and Oracle8.0 (8.0.6)
    Q: What is Oracle doing to notify users about this problem now?
    A: Oracle is notifying all supported customers, via the Oracle
    Worldwide Support Web pages, of this issue so they can address
    it as required.
    ISS X-Force also recommends that all administrators complete a
    proactive survey on the use or potential misuse of setuid bits
    on privileged executables on their systems.

  • Duplicate Document Numbering after Upgrade

    Hi! Can anyone please help me to find-out a resolution for the Duplicate Document Numbering found after the SAP B1 upgrade from 2007 to 8.8?
    This report has been found from the Administration -> Utilities.

    The previous company database was a trial database, but the production version of the same is showing the following (missing & doubled) List in "Check Document Numbering -> Document Serial Numbering List"
    Missing List - 52 rows (a sample from the top is given below) -
    Document     Number     To Number
    Checks for Payment     1     3931
         3933     6925
         6932     6932
         6963     6963
         7014     7014
    and in right had side in the same as above way, the Doubled list - 16 rows
    BUT I have check the "Checks for Payment Documents" the documents there shows their "Check Internal ID" 1 to 691. Then from where the above numbers have been detected by the system?
    ANOTHER INTERESTING FACT IS THAT THE above testing I have done on SBO 8.8 PL12, hence I have got the "Upgrade Control Report" as well .... and this showing the following "Non-matching quantities" -
    #     Table     Records Before     Records After
    1     OINM     20284     17342
    I have checked the upgrade log-file ... there were no errors. BUT at the time of "Pre-upgrade check" of this company database the warning "common database version differs from the company database version" always.

  • Negetive Commited Quantity showing

    Hi to All,
    I am using SAP B1 2005 B PL 25.
    I have noticed that there is one item in item master which is showing negetive value in committed. I have checked Inventory in Warehouse Report. when I moved to committed, it is showing negetive.
    Can anybody has idea for this or can any body guide me to resolve this ?
    Warm Regards,
    Chintesh Soni

    Hi Chintesh,
    Incorrect negative committed quantities was a common problem with many of my clients when they were on the old 2005 version.
    If the quantity is incorrect (sometimes it should be a negative quantity as explained by the posts above) then you can run a routine to recalculate the stock balance.
    If I remember in 2005 it is in Administration / Utilities / Restore / Restore Item Balances.
    Enter your offending stock item number in the from and to field and click OK.
    This should then correct the negative quantity.  Please ensure you backup your database first.
    Regards,
    Adrian

  • Problems with WebUtil under Sun Java plugin

    Hi,
    I have a Forms application using WebUtil which works fine under Oracle jinitiator for years. It works with both MS IE and Mozilla Firefox (some other browsers were also successfully tested). Now when Mozilla released Firefox 3.6 requiring next generation Java (http://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/2010/01/firefox_36_ebs.html) Oracle jinitiator (Java version 1.3.1.22) cannot work and I was forced to download and install the latest JRE plugin version (http://java.sun.com/update/1.6.0/jinstall-6u18-windows-i586.cab). I provided required formsweb.cfg modifications:

    Now my application starts (previously it required a plugin installation) but fails with the error:

    This happens on the very first call to WebUtil function in the ON-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger.
    My questions are:
    - May I configure WebUtil for both jinitiator and Sun Java plugin usage?
    - What is missed in jpi configuration preventing WebUtil normal execution?
    Thank you in advance,
    Ilia

    Hi All,
    Thank you for your responds.
    The following separate configuration section is used in this situation:
    [jpiadm280]
    baseHTMLJInitiator=basejpi.htm
    envFile=InPlan.2.80.env
    pageTitle=InMind Administration Utilities v. 2.80
    width=950
    height=680
    form=CEDB_main_menu
    background=/forms/java/fls_bgnd
    logo=/forms/java/fls_logo
    splashScreen=no
    lookAndFeel=oracle
    colorScheme=teal
    imageBase=codeBase
    WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar_
    WebUtilLogging=off
    WebUtilLoggingDetail=normal
    WebUtilErrorMode=Alert
    WebUtilDispatchMonitorInterval=5
    WebUtilTrustInternal=true
    WebUtilMaxTransferSize=16384
    baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljpi.htm
    baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,fls_icons.jar,FormsGraph.jar
    archive=frmall.jar
    otherparams=useSDI=no
    jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0018-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    jpi_codebase=http://java.sun.com/update/1.6.0/jinstall-6u18-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,6,0,18
    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0_18
    Please see highlighted with bold parameters to make sure that all recommendations were taken into account. Nevertheless the error message shows that CApiFunctions.class was not found and this class is within frmwebutil.jar, which is also referred within this configuration section (highlighted with bold undrline). So it looks like a sort of incompatibility of frmwebutil.jar with Sun JRE plugin 1.6.0_18. Do I need another version of frmwebutil.jar to run with next generation Java?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ilia

  • ITunes wont detect iPhone - Urgent help!!!!!

    Ok heres the deal. Usualy i use iTunes regulary without any problems. But 2 days ago all of a sudden my iTunes wasn able to detect the Iphone, i tried everything, differrent USB plugin, reinstalling iTunes, reinstalling Bonjour but nothing changed. Now there was one interestting thing, when i tried to open the iTunes that day first what appeard on my screen was: "Bonjour service unavalaible". Could that be the problem? If not or yes, i need help urgently! Pls help! thanks
    oh btw i forgott to mention that my comp recognizes it as a cam like it usually does and starts charging it, but only iTunes is making trouble
    I also tried at my neighbours computer and his iTunes recognizes it perfectly, i tried everything, i have up-to-date drivers, matchable iTunes specially for my Win 7, uninstalled every Apple related software and installed iTunes again several times, tried everything i found on google, still no change. Help plssss!!!!!

  • ITunes wont detect iPhone 3g3

    I updated iTunes to 10.5 yesterday and am now trying to sync my iPhone 3Gs 16gb.  For some reason iTunes doesnt detect the iPhone at all. I have tried the following:
    - Restarting the mac (Running 10.5.8)
    - Turning phone off and on again
    - Restarting phone by holding home and lock buttons
    - Restarting iTunes (iTunes does lock up when doing this but does work eventually)
    - Force quitting iTunes
    - Pluging into different USBs
    I think that iTunes is the problem because when I plug the phone in it charges. However I updated my iPad with no problems yesterday.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
