Adobe 10.1.13 Won't Print

I suddenly am unable to print .pdf files. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.13 without any luck. I can print other files. .pdf's that used to print no longer will. I checked to make sure I am not printing to file. Nothing appears in my printer's queue and it is the printer listed when I try to print from Adobe Acrobat Reader.
What else should I try to resolve this problem?

There are two obvious choices. You can delete and then re-install your printer driver and see if that helps. If not then you can uninstall Reader, run the Acrobat and Reader Cleaner to ensure everything has been removed: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then try to re-install Reader.

  • Adobe PS CS5 - Photos won't print to laserjet printer

Adobe PS CS5 has been printing fine on both of my printers (Ricoh Aficio and HP Laserjet CP2025) for over a year now.  Recently, when printing photos from CS5, it still prints fine to the Ricoh, but when I try printing to the CP2025, it comes up with an error - Adobe Photoshop CS5 has encountered and error and needs to close.  It doesn't give an actual error number or anything.
I initially thought that maybe it was the print driver, so I changed the CP2025 from a PCL6 to a PCL5 driver, but this did not fix the issue.  I don't understand how it worked fine for so long and now all of a sudden, I can't print from the program to my CP2025 printer.  I know it is not the printer, because it prints just fine from all other programs.  I can even print the same photos using the MGI Photosuite, so it's not the file either.
I don't know what else to try at this point, so I am hoping that someone here has some suggestions for me.  Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from someone soon!

  • Printing from OS 10.6.8 using Adobe Acrobat 8.1 - won't print from appl

Using Apple OS 10.6.8, if I attempt to print a PDF from within Acrobat 8.1, I always get an error message and it just will not print unless I try to print the file as an "image" type file. If, however, I DRAG the icon for the file on to the printer icon in the dock, I am able to print the file just fine. WHAT IS UP WITH THIS and is there a patch or fix?

Is there an easy way to move photos from iPhone 5 to my Mini?
Could you just email the photos to yourself and from the mini, receive then as attachments. This is roughly similar to the network process you would be using with iCloud, but with an extra step.

  • Adobe 8.1.2 won't print

I cannot get my pdf files to print. A paper does come through the printer, but it comes out with just a lot of small vertical lines all over the page, and no words or images from the document. Any ideas why this is happening and how I might fix it??

I am having this problem too. My OS is vista, and I am printing to a HP psc 1210

Two obvious troubleshooting techniques are to delete and re-install the printer driver (or updating printer driver) and fixing the installation of Acrobat. Have you given those a try?

  • New HD, Now Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.16 Won't Print PDFs to HP2605dn

Had a HD die. Replaced with new one. All humming along on my OS 10.4.11 G4Powerbook except now newly re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.16 won't print PDFs to my HP2605dn printer. Adobe Reader 9.1.3 and Preview will print my PDFs so that's a workaround, but would like to get Acrobat Pro back to pre-grey screen of death functionality.
    Have sourced hp:

and also sourced and did due diligence with troubleshooting list:

I'm running out of ideas here. Anyone feel like playing House, M.D. with my problem???

What message do you get, exactly? (Please don't include the serial itself).
Is this using the original CD that came with the Acrobat 8 product?
Does it say anything about a "qualifying product"?

Adobe PDF won't print the colour chosen for non-working times in MS Project.  I have tried changing the colour, changing the style, moving non-working time in front of tasks and have fiddled with the printer properties, all to no avail.  It ignores whatever style I have for non-working time and makes a blank space, although it will take gridline changes . . . . please help!

Thank you for providing the suggestion and the Cleanup tools, however they did not help.
I ran each version of the cleanup tool, and for each I had it clean up Reader and Acrobat (i.e. 4 separate cleanup operations).  I then rebooted the machine, and installed Reader 11.0.3.
Still had the same behavior:  Reader will not print.  I tried printing to a second printer (that is attached via USB)...and it did not work either.  I also tried printing to a Cute PDF Writer print driver...and that did not work either.  In each case, no print data made it to the Windows print queue (as demonstrated by watching the queue while printing.)  No error was raised, but no print data was transmitted.
I then uninstalled Reader 11.0.3, rebooted, and re-installed Reader 9:  printing works fine now.
There is definitely something in Reader 10 and Reader 11 that breaks printing in some environments.    (As you alluded to...I have seen a number of postings online about printing problems in Reader.)
    More details about my environment:
    Windows 7 Professional N (Version 6.1, Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
    VMWare virtual machine
Two virtual CPUs (each: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz, 2673 Mhz, 1 core, 1 Logicial Processor)
    Hardware Abstraction Layer:  6.1.7601.17514
RAM:  3096 (allocated to virtual machine)
    Bridged networking
    VMware host:
    Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1
    18 Gig RAM
    Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @2.67 GHz
    VMWare Workstation 9.0.2 build-1031769
(but problem existed on older version of VMWare Workstation 7.x as well)

  • Adobe won't print from a Win7 machine to a networked printer conected to a MAC

    Hi,
    Does anyone have any suggestions.
I have a printer connected to a Macbook in the study, I can print wirelessly from my Win7 laptop, all other types of file - office docs/web pages/photos etc.  So I know the printer is set up correctly.
When trying to print PDFs from Adobe reader, I can see the printer in the printer select drop down, but when  I click print - nothing prints.  I get the printing diaglog box, but the progress bar doesn't get past 0%.
Also from within Reader, at the print dialog box, i can click the printer properties, and from there print a test page, but the PDFs themsevles just don't print. Also I dont get any error messages to say there has been a problem.
I am v confused, as i said every other program i use works without problem.
I would be most grateful if anyone has any suggestions, as its really starting to bug me and i have lots of PDFs to print!
    Thanks in advance

  • Using Adobe 8.1.2 some PDF files won't print

Since we've upgraded to the latest version of Reader, 8.1.2, some of the files won't print. For example, this morning I got two PDF files in the same email, they both opened in Reader, but only one of them prints--sending to a Canon ImageRunner 5570 printer/copier/fax machine. I'm not getting any error messages on my computer, it just doesn't print?
If I save a copy of the unprintable PDF to my desktop, then open in Acrobat 6.0 Standard (older version I know), it prints fine to the same printer.
Does anyone know what's going on here? Best, David.

We've been having the same problems printing to a Canon ImageRunner 4570, 8.1.2 won't print but 6 will. We can print to our other HP printer fine from 8.1.2, so it seems to be specific to the Canon. Tried printing from a shallow folder structure, but that hasn't seemed to have helped. Anyone heard if this is unique to the Canon printers? Thanks - Mike

  • Adobe reader shows text but won't print all the text

I have a form used by many and it works with no problem.  Today one came in you could see all the text, but when printed, only some of the text appeared.
I checked it on 3 machines, also one that has Acrobat 9  on it, same results.
On the print setup, under comments and forms, I  have Documents and Markup set,  but if I click on "form field only"  I do get the missing text.
As said we have gotten many forms from other people, no problems, so it really not for lack of knowing how to print it correctly.
The only print preview I can see I have is when I go to print it, it appears on the right, and it is missing the text there.
I have removed all name and address from the form for privacy reason,   I did add my name in a few blocks and then saved it but it won't print that also.
for some reason only the top row under CPR   AED  and SFA print, but as you can see, there are a bunch that don't, along with all the names I removed.
    Thanks in advance.
    John
    Any ideas?
Tuesday--still working on this,  I activited the voice part of my acrobat 9 and it reads all the text while in PDF form, just won't print it.

Restarted computer and seems to be working again.

  • HP LaserJet 5200 Print Queue Disappears or Won't Print Jobs

This problem has been ongoing for years, and can usually be overcome by either power-cycling the printer or cancelling the queue and reprinting. I have searched for nearly 6 years for a solution to this, but there was never anything that worked  so we just muddled through it. But for some reason within the past few days has now escalated to the point that the printer won't print at all.
For starters: we're on Mac 10.8.3. That really shouldn't make much difference, however - as this problem has been around with other computers running older OS as far back as 10.4. Currently, the HP 5200 LaserJet is hooked up to USB (no Jet Direct card) and is shared on the network. No updates have been made (nor are there any available) for 6-9 months at least on the computer or printer. The only consistent part of this issue is that regardless of computer (we have hooked up three of them) the same problem persists at the same workstation (we changed it up today to troubleshoot - see below).
I have performed the following troubleshooting in the past two days:
    • Installed and re-installed the printer software three times.
    • Reset the printing system in the Print/Fax System Preferences five or six times.
    • Power-cycled the printer, deleted the queue and reprinted approximately 30 times.
    • Turned off printer sharing and turned on printer sharing to no effect either way.
    • Restored the printer to factory settings to no effect.
    • Tried running with the 5200 PPD and a Generic PS Printer PPD, no effect either way.
    • Hooked the printer up directly to the computer and through a powered USB hub, no effect either way.
    • Hooked up four different USB cables, two of which are from computers using printers that are not experiencing any connectivity issues.
    • In the HP Utility, when hooked up direct via USB, the Service ID, FW Version, Serial and Product numbers come up as 'unknown'
    • In the HP Utility, when hooked up via sharing the HP Utility will not work at all with the printer.
Most of the time I get the error of "Printing-Waiting for printer to become available" when sending a document. It doesn't matter if I send it from TextEdit, Safari, Chrome, or any Adobe program - it doesn't print.
Sometimes the document will act as if it's printing, and the light on the printer blinks - then it disappears without printing. The Print Log from the printer does not show anything being printed.
Prior to this new problem, we had an older 5200 printing exhibiting the same escalated issues. When I went to upgrade the firmware (Firmware date code of 20090716), the computer and printer lost connectivity and the formatter board became damaged. HP replaced our printer with another 5200 - which is now exhibiting the same issues. The new printer carries a Firmware date code of 20071017.
So, under these similar circumstances, upgrading the firmware is not an option as I don't think I can upload to the printer without losing the connection and damaging the formatter board again.
At this point, the printer simply won't print regardless of what I do.
I have moved the printer to another Mac using 10.6.8 and it is currently printing, but that is only a temporary fix. Edit: 3.5 hours later, the printer is exhibiting the same issues, and I am currently SOL on printing anything again.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for replying - I was able to print a configuration page from the printer. I am not sure how to send text directly to the printer (assuming you mean by bypassing the print command window) - if someone has this info for a Mac, I can give it a try.
Additionally, I forgot to report the troubleshooting using the HP Utility (which made me think of when dansdaduk suggested printing directly to the printer):
    • When hooked up direct via USB, the Service ID, FW Version, Serial and Product numbers come up as 'unknown'
    • When hooked up via sharing the HP Utility will not work at all with the printer.
For a long while, I thought it may be something with the printer, but I believe it has to do with a USB connection conflicting in some way on the Mac OS, especially considering that we have had two printers manufactured at two different intervals across several years exhibiting the same issues. It's the only constant that remains, even when hooked up directly and not shared, or hooked up and shared across different computers regardless of the OS.
