Adobe 10 Pro Blank scanned pages

Hi, I have adobe 10 pro.  When I scan from my scanner as a multi page pdf the documents show up grey and blank in adobe.  If I print them they come out just fine.  I just can view the pages that were scanned.  Please help.

You may have the "Show large images" preference turned off.
In Acrobat 8, it is under Edit > Preferences > Page Display. I'm not sure about other versions.
Make sure "Show large images" is ticked.

  • 2-sided printing using Adobe 9 Pro - odd # of pages

We are trying to print our client's quarterly reports using a 2-sided format. We will have our software program produce indivdual reports in PDF format for each client; however I wanted to combine this into one long PDF in order to make printing them much easier. Unfortunately, each report has a different number of pages which complicates 2-sided printing.
I cant seem to figure out how to have Adobe insert a blank page at the end of any reports that have an odd number of pages so that the first page of the next report doesnt print on the last page of the previous one. I believe that batch processing might be able to do this...does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might be able to make this work?
    Thanks!

    #1.
Create a single page PDF for insert.
    #2.
Advanced > Document Processing > Batch Processing
    Batch Sequences dialog opens.
    Click "New Sequence" button.
In the "Name Sequence" dialog, name the Sequence (e.g., "Insert Page").
    OK
In the "Edit Batch Sequence - Insert Page" dialog, click the "Select Commands" button.
In the Edit Sequence dialog, scroll down t Pages > Insert Pages.
Select "Insert Pages", click the "Add >>" button. Click the "Edit" button.
In the "Select File to Insert" dialog, browse to the blank PDF you made earlier and select it.
In the "Insert Pages" dialog, select location (After | Before), select Page & click OK.
OK out of the "Edit Sequence" dialog.
Back in the "Edit Batch Sequence - Insert Page" dialog, make your selections for items #2 & #3.
Now, click the "Output Options" button.
    In the "Output Options" dialog:
--| make your File Naming choices
--| make your Output Format choices
If you need to use the PDF Optimizer, select PDF Optimizer and click the "Settings" button.
The PDF Optimizer feature is made available for your configuration.
OK out of the "Output Options" dialog.
OK out of the "Edit Batch Sequence - Insert Page" dialog.
    The "Batch Sequenc" dialog remains.
The Batch Sequence is not ready for use. Click Run Sequence button.
The "Run Sequence Confirmation-Insert Page" dialog is presented.
    Click OK.
In the "Select Files to Process" dialog, browse to the folder where your PDFs are located.
Select one or many of the PDFs. Click the "Select" button.
The Batch Sequence works its way through the PDF file(s) selected.
Click the "Close" button to leave the "Batch Sequence" dialog.
Do a look-see at the processed PDFs. The blank page will be located where you directed.

  • Adobe 9 Pro: Comparing Scanned PDFs - either no changes found or many many (incorrect) changes found

Hello - using Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional.
I have two Word documents that were scanned into a Xerox copy machine, which converts said documents into PDF format and emails them.
I open both these PDF documents, save them to disk.
I open Adobe Pro 9 and invoke the Document/Compare Documents feature, browse and find the two files, set document description to Reports.
Document OCR recognition is set to English/PDF Output Style: Clear Scan and Downsample: Lowest (600dpi).
Below is a modified screenshot to hide private info - but what you can see in the red box is that the compare functionality didn't pick up the textual change (red box on left) which was simply an insertion of the words: testing testing here.
I am having great difficulty getting this the Compare Document feature to function properly.  When I choose Document Description >Scanned, there are times when it skews most of the text by converting ones to the letter 'i' and inserting tilde (~) symbols.    Can someone help?

Your workflow really does not fit the "compare" profile.
    Compare works well when:
Have a single authoring file. Make a PDF. Send out PDF for comment / review.
Incorporate comments into the single, source authoring file. Output PDF.
    Compare PDFs.
As soon as you go to a scanned image and rely on OCR your out of the box.
First and foremost OCR will not provide a 100% reflection of the textual content.
    Other issues as well.
Not likely to motivate a snoppy dance (would incur a subscription cost) but you'd be much better served use Adobe's EchoSign online service.

  • Problem with Adobe X Pro when scanning horizontal tables

    My problem is the following:
When trying to scan physical documents which contain tables (Excel type) oriented horizontally along the paper, using Adobe Acrobat X Pro, it prints an incomplete table with vertical orientation (basically it forces horizontal images to have a vertical orientation, losing part of them).
I'm sure this is just a configuration issue, I would be very grateful if you could help me locating the parameter that should be corrected.

    Problem was the paper size
    Just set a bigger one

  • Adobe Pro 9 Scanning - Change Scan type after Prompt to scan more

I have an end user who is using Adobe 9 Professional to scan pages to PDF. The pages they are trying to scan contain mostly text documents but there are times when there are some photos that are mixed in. The problem they run into is when they scan the text as White/Black option, the photos come out really dark. They normally need to rescan them as a different option to be able to see the scanned image correctly. The end user believes that in Adobe 5, they used to have the option to scan more pages and choose the type of scanning option when they choose to scan more pages. They are looking for this option in Adobe 9. Currently they have to save multiple documents and then combine them to be the one document they are looking for.

    ** SOLVED FOR ME **
    Acrobat 9.0 and 9.1 Standard
No v9 properties toolbar access except in last document opened
I don't know if this applies to you but I had a similar problem with documents on our network.
It turns out the documents were being saved as PDF/A or PDF/X format.
I had the users open up Adobe.  Go to Edit>Preferences      Then go to the Documents section and find the "Open in PDF/A" section.  I had them select "Never"  and then the toolbars were no longer greyed out.

  • Acrobat Pro XI scans both sides (blank backs of pages) when pre-configured to scan front side only

Acrobat Pro XI scans both sides (blank backs of pages) when pre-configured to scan front side only; using Brother MFC 9840CDW and Windows 8 (was not a problem with previous Acrobat version).  Help, please?

Update:  No solution has been discovered; and, I did check the Brother settings (since it allows two-sided printing) - nothing awry there.  Acrobat behaves normally when scanning from the flatbed (as opposed to the doc feeder).  Using Acrobat to delete every other page (blank ones) after scanning is not a viable option.  Please, any thoughts on this issue?

  • My Adobe XI only shows gray pages when I try to scan to my drive from an Epson WF-3540.  The file shows it is a multiple kb pdf file.  To read it I have to e-mail it to myself and let online mail reader open it.  Can scan jpg and tiff with no problem.

Is there a compatibility issue with Adobe Reader XI 11.0.10 and the pdf scan program fro an Epson WF-3540 All In One?  Is it an Epson Problem?  Is it because the "source" shown in Properties from an Epson is a PDF 5.xx file?  I can't understand why I can e-mail the item and get it to appear in the online Adobe reader, but if I try to save it to my computer drives it comes out with blank (gray) pages again. Is it a Win7 problem?  Help I have a lot of scanning to do and only know everything was fine until about ten days to two weeks ago.  Don't know if an update for Epson, Win7, or Adobe might be problem.

Thank you very much.! Two weeks of very frustrating uninstalls, reinstalls, cursing, moaning and  thinking about buying a new scanner all solved with the check in the box.  I have no idea how it got unchecked, as I never mess around with things that work.  Incidentally, I got a "Fraud Detection Alert" on ~grafitti's message.  When I went to the Adobe page and read the answer, I could not find the "Correct" button anywhere.  Please see that ~grafitti gets some more points.
    Again,  Thank You!

I need to convert PDF to Excel, however, columns and tabs make many merged cells and many blank columns. In addition to not separate the columns correctly, I see many not separate lines together in the same cell. I'm even thinking that Adobe Acrobat Pro DC has limitations. There is no way to define what points in columns to force break column? Nor create many columns that are useless? How does text to column in Excel, fixed size when we import text, and define where the breaks have columns?

PDF does not contain columns, rows, formats, styles, or other aspects of word processing or spreadsheet file formats.
This is because PDF is decidedly not a word processing or spreadsheet file format or something "like" one of those.
(see ISO 32000 for what PDF "is")
What can optimize the export of PDF page content is to start with a well-formed tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
Without that export is what it is and one performs whatever content cleanup is needed using the native application for the export file (MS Word or Excel).

  • How do I get the PDF Convert feature of Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.4, which makes a PDF of a web page interactive, to work in Firefox 4.0.1?

I just installed (on my Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) operating system/Intel i5 CPU M560 2.67 GHz) and am now using as my default browser Firefox 4.0.1 because Internet Explorer 9 was giving me so much trouble--lack of display of web content, lack of PDF reproduction when web content displayed, screwball formatting display, etc., all of which has been remedied by the mere installation of Firefox 4.0.1.
How do I get the PDF Convert feature of Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.4, which converts a web page to an interactive PDF, to set up and work on Firefox 4.0.1?

You can not do that using Adobe Acrobat 9. Adobe never made a create PDF add-on for Firefox for use with Adobe Acrobat 9. They created a Firefox add-on for use with Acrobat X, but currently that one does not work with Firefox 4 though Adobe are working on an update.

Please give me some suggestions to improve this issue. Regards

    Hey quantum info,
Thank you for posting at Adobe forums. We would love to help you out.
Could you please let me know if you have tried converting other web pages to PDF and checked if the same issue persists.
How have you been trying to convert the web page to PDF?
Are you trying to convert to PDF directly via browsers or using "File > Create > PDF from Web Page"  option in Acrobat.
Let me know more so that I can analyze where actually the issue persists.
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Cannot get C7280 to scan with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0. Can you help?

I know this may not be the right place to post this, but here goes. I'm using 10.5.2 along with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0, a HP C7280 AIO connected to network via wireless. The normal software I use is HP Scan Pro.
Here's my problem. When I try to scan from Acrobat it will either open the scan pro software, show acrobat as the place to scan to in the bottom, but not do anything. If I "accept", it crashes Acrobat OR it will say it can't communicate, so either way it doesn't work. Any ideas how to make this work?
    Thx

  • Mac Pages will not open in CS4 Adobe Acrobat Pro

Is this standard? OR can you only open other Adobe/pdf files in Acrobat Pro?

Acrobat Pro cannot open pages files. You need to create a pdf file from
Pages as you do with any other program from the print dialog box or in
the case of Pages you can use the export function (but this doesn't use
    Acrobat to create pdf files).
