Adobe 5 Messages

I am running a computer w/ Win XP SP3, MS Office '07 Pro, and Adobe Acrobat 5. I have documents that were put into PDF by using a program called "CutePDF", which simply allows PDF files to be created, nothing more can be done with this program (these files were given to me). At this time, I am trying to take an existing PDF document, remove a few pages and insert updated pages in the same place. However, when I do this, I am getting an error message "These documents contain subset fonts that have the same name and cannot be merged". I am not sure how to get around this error.
Some of the files that have been recieved work without troubles, others won't work at all.
Thank you for your help and support.

This would be a tough one to figure out. CutePDF may have not been (and probably wasn't) following Adobe PDF standards so basically, you have corrupt files.
I don't normally suggest refrying PDF's but you may want to use File>Print and choose the PDF printer (or whatever it was called back in version 5. I don't remember) and create new PDF's then try and merge those.
There may be other options but I don't remember 5 well enough to remember what they are.

Your MacBook Air is an Intel-based system. To download the current version (11.2.202.228),  go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download it from there.
If there is still a Flash issue, you can try the Google Chrome browser, which has the current Flash built into it, to see if it works any differently with the videos. It's available from https://www.google.com/chrome

  • Photoshop CS6 - failure to open after 2 year's use  due to adobe message.

An Adobe message to confirm a trial of PS CS6 Extended has suddenly appeared to prevent me from continuing to open my photoshop application ( non extended) which has run OK for two years.  No other options are given.   How can I get rid of this message to enable me to use application?  Adobe Chat suggested deleting some adobe files but this did not work and then they suddenly discovered that CS6 was no longer supported on Adobe chat!   Can you help me?!

Help gives merely version 13.0 x64  (windows)  But I have found a solution & I think the following gives the sequence:
message first appeared after my computer's card reader stopped working pro tem, so I downloaded the card from the camera via USB using Bridge CS6 downloader, something I have not had to do before  (ie from the camera).   The message above gave only one option, but of course, CS6 extended or otherwise is not now available from Adobe anyway.  By attempting to open Photoshop CS6 offline the message option to license the product now appeared as well with requirement also to sign in my Adobe ID.   By entering the licence serial number again of my unextended product (although it was already recorded as licensed on my account) and my adobe ID I was then immediately able to open Photoshop.  Possibly some piece of software recognised an unusual procedure  (piracy prevention)?  Anyway it now seems to work perfectly again.
Many thanks JJM for your interest and I hope this account may also be of use to someone else out there!

  • Cannot stop Adobe Message coming up

    Hello
I keep getting a message coming up on my screen from Adobe Flash Player and I cannot stop it !
    The message is as follows:
A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.
This program will open outside of protected mode.  Internet Exporer protected mode helps protect your computer.
If you do not trust this website, do not open this program
    Adobe Flash Player
    Adobe Systems Incorporated
It doesn't matter whether I press yes allow or do not allow - it still keeps coming up - I have had this problem for a few weeks now and I have run my Anti Virus software and Malware etc, but to no joy - it still keeps coming up.
I don't think  that it is coming from yourselves - I think it is a virus?
My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit
    And I use Internet Explorer
Can anyone please help me get rid of it?
I have done a screen print if there is anyway I can send you it?
    Thank you and kind regards

Hi - thanks for your reply.  I looked at my 'protected mode' to see if it was enabled in IE's Internet Options and it was already 'checked'
I have been trying to post my screenshot by clicking the camera icon in this toolbar, but when I browse my documents and click on insert image - a message comes up saying 'the content type of this image is not allowed' !
It is a WordDoc2007 (*docx) or a .wps extension which is a Microsoft Works document and no matter which image I try to 'insert' - the message is still the same.
I am desperate now because no matter what website I go on - your message comes up - and everytime the website is loading it comes up quite a few times when a page is loading.  Even while I've been doing this reply to you - everytime I click on a link to take me somewhere on the site - it comes up!
Perhaps if I can send you the screenshot by email - it may work?  At least then you would be able to see the screenshot?
I have just thought about sending you the screenshot as a picture, but I don't have 'Paint' - any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thank you and kind regards

  • Adobe messages bombard my computer

Some time ago I was advised by a helpful person on this forum to untick my, 'User Account'. It was good advice because it stopped the problem. The trouble is now, I get warnings that my computer is not protected with my user account turned off, But when I turn it on I am unable to use computer. The pop up from
    Name:  Adobe Flash Player
    Publisher:Adobe Systems Incorporated
And the message reads, A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.
How can I stop this message popping up every time I touch annything on my pc. Ticking the box that says. " Do not show me this warning again", makes no difference at all.
I hope someone knows what I can do and can let me know.

I wonder how you got this -- there was no 64-bit Flash Player 10 version.  I think you can savely uninstall it.
Everything else is up to date.  All Adobe programs you listed are free to download and upgrade.

  • Disabling Adobe Messages in IE7

    Well,
After one too many stupid animations trundling across my
screen and blocking what I want to read, I've removed the flash
plugin from IE7 and cut out the middle man.
My life is now a happier one, but the browser now keeps
reminding me that "This page wants to install...." the flash player
in a yellow banner at the top. Since I have no intention of
allowing this plugin back onto my systems, does anyone know of a
way to permanently remove this message, without installing/
    disabling flash first?

Nice to see Adobe still haven't fixed the Reader installer
for Vista/ IE7 yet either. They've only had a year.

The best solution would be to reinstall your operating system
therefore assertively syndicating corporate channels which will
allow you to dynamically iterate compelling potentialities. If
you're not up to those tasks, then I'd say just quit using Internet
    Explorer all together.

  • 100 ADOBE messages A DAY -- CAN'T TURN THEM OFF

sTARTING LAST WEEK i AM GETTING ABOUT 100 MESSAGES EVERY DAY
TELLING ME fLASH PLAYER WON'T INSTALL. Before this I got maybe 20
messages a day telling me some web site was trying to install it.
Looking at the TechNotes on this, I am buffaloed. There is NO
WAY I can understand and follow them. One says I am in "serious
    trouble" if I even try.
Hell of a way to make satisfied customers!
Just tell me how to turn off these messages. I don't even
know what a "flash player" is or does and I've gotten along just
fine without it for 20 years!

The Flash Player is the most downloaded plugin in internet
    history for some
time now (Flash version 4?). over 94% of the world has
    version 9:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/player_census/flashplayer/version_penetration.html
About 98% and over have some version of the player installed.
I would venture to say a majority of websites have some Flash
    content
somewhere on them (if not all Flash).
That said, if you want to avoid watching anything
    Flash-related across the
    entire web:
Try googling "turn off flash player". Some suggest disabling
    plugins via the
browser. You can uninstall the Flash player as well through
    Add/Remove
    programs (windows).
Or find the plugins folder for your browser and delete the
    flash player.

  • Adobe Message

Using my macbook pro. Getting a message
    "Adobe Flash Player Settings
    Local Storage
flashcdn.iminlikeiwthyou.com is requesting permission to store information on your computer"
Then it has two buttons, allow or deny.
I keep denying. Does anyone know what this is and why I am getting the message. I went to adobe's web site and it say's i am using the current version.
    Please advise

It sounds like whatever web site you are using wants to store "Flash cookies" on your Mac.
I recommend whatever web site that is, avoid it. Flash cookies can be innocuous, but they can certainly enable the website requesting them to save and retrieve information that you may prefer to keep confidential.
Flash cookes are like ordinary "cookies" but they are not eradicated even if you prevent cookie storage with Safari Preferences.
    Read more about it: http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2009/08/you-deleted-your-cookies-think-again/
Yet another reason to avoid Flash altogether.

  • Strange Adobe Message Keeps appearing on desktop PP2

With no apparent schedule, a box pops up by the bottom toolbar of my desktop...not when I am working with Premiere.  It stays on such a short time, I can never read it.  Says something about Adobe not getting info from my computer or something like that. it has a progress bar like it is downloading or uploading something and then disappears.  Anyone else having this happen and do you know what it is?  I don't recall ever giving them permission to excess my computer???

I'm wondering if it isn't a way for Adobe to check to see that your software is registered and not pirated.
Could be. I've never seen (or maybe "noticed" would be a better term), but maybe it happens so quickly on my machines, that I just can't see it. As I have many Adobe programs, I'd suspect that I'd see it from at least one - but maybe not.
All of my machines do have Internet connections, and all versions of all software is Activated (where required), and the number of installs conforms with the Adobe EULA. Do you have any Adobe software, where you exceedec the allowed number of installs, i.e. 3 computers with PrPro (same license) on them? Just thinking outside the box here.
Good luck, and maybe try the vid-cam trick. I'm curious now...

It's impossible to open any Adobe message without the program shutting down. I've tried to change the DEP but Adobe will not allow it. I can't open anything.

Try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
Note that Reader XI is not officially supported on Vista; Reader X (10.1.10) is the latest Reader version for Vista.

  • Cannot Install Adobe reader error message

    Have  Win 7 64bit
Had adobe reader installed worked great was reading a PDF file when adobe message popped up ready to install update pushed okay and a message popped up unable to install update  then adobe reader ceased to work checked program files and adobe had disappeared so I done loaded a new copy 9.2 from adobe and commenced to install it all I get is error message about half installed
Program error 1310 error writing to file C:\program data\adobe\acrobat\900\replicate\security\directories\acrodata verify that you have access to that directory
    any help a appreciated

Yesterday, I created Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 & X AIPs using .exe and nos switches.. example:
    adberdr1001_en_us.exe -nos_o"ReaderXInstall" -nos_ne
For version 9.4.0, it creates the subfolder specified int he command line.. for the version 10.0.1 file, it prompts for a folder name -- but this really isn't a problem for me..
My problem is when I merge MSPs into the original acroread.msi file after "unzipping" the EXE files... I got Adobe Reader X with Tier 1 MSP file running perfectly deployed with GPO.. but today, I come into work and I get an error message that the Tier 1 MSP for Reader X won't install cause it thinks the original file isn't the correct one to patch.  I know I have everything configured correctly.. I've even blown away Acrobat Reader Folders and Registry entries.. and tried re-install.. v9.4.2 installs perfectly still.. but 10.0.1 with Tier 1 still fails.. doesn't matter if I use MSI + MST deployed with GPO or setup.exe with patch= in setup.ini.. so frustrating!!!  I'm wondering if there's a bug with Adobe stuff.. or more than likely I've corrupted something on my system but installing, uninstalling, reinstalling v9 and v10 to test GPO deploy.. v10.0.1 without Tier will install.. I even downloaded Tier 1 again thinking somehow it got corrupted.. I do have a RAID 1 in my desktop..
Anyone have any ideas of something I may have missed?
    Stephen.

  • Iweb 08: adobe flash player error messages and crashing when saving

Hi.   I switched not too long ago from an 08 Imac to a mid 2011 with Mountain Lion.    I brought the applications I could from the other computer, including Iweb 08.
today was the first time I tried to tweak my site with it.  I opened the old file on the new computer using this method:
    http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWeb_Transfer_Site.html
All seemed well at first.  Then I got a slew of error messages to the effect of "Adobe® Flash® Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. The following local application on your computer or network: blah blah is trying to communicate with this internet-enabled loaction: blah blah blah".
My site is used to display my work in the video production field, so it's related to the various players/videos embedded.
In addition, when I tried to save after opening that first time, and any time, since, it crashes during the save.
Any ideas what's going on here?
Here're two of the pages on my site that were making iweb go nuts:
    http://videoproduction.joshbass.com/Videoproduction-_ENG_Interviews.html
    http://videoproduction.joshbass.com/Videoproduction-_Commercial.html
    Thanks.

Whether or not you use iWeb, you may be aware that things have changed. Since you're a professional, I assume the trade must have talked about it.
I'm not a professional, but I have read about it for the past few years.
Adobe Flash is on it's way out. Especially on Mobile devices, such as my iPad, where your movies do not display.
    Here's how I do it.
It started with this in Flash :
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Movies/rolando/
Then made this with the <embed> code 4 years ago :
    http://www.wyodor.net/Tutorials/ImageWidget/ClickMovie.html
And in a similar style, made for iPad :
    http://www.wyodor.net/mfi/cultureclub/Movies.html
Then HTML5 came along and made a sample with custom code to explain it :
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/html5/HTML5Video.html
And with code from the Interwebs :
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/html5/HTML5_Zencoder.html
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Movies/sublime/
And regarding the Adobe messages? It's not particular to your situation. It's a warning that you try to use Flash outside the protected area of a website.
You can either ignore it, or prevent it by making separate webpages for each flash video and then display them with an iframe in the HTML Snippet. The HTML5 demos above do that.
So the magic word is : Educate.

  • Adobe reader 9.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close

How many other ADOBE subscribers have suffered the same frustrations as we have?
Over the last 4 days and numerous hours of frustration installing and uninstalling ADOBE 9.1 [and 7.1 and 8.1.3] to resolve the unknown cause of the current Adobe message - ."Adobe reader 9.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close" ..... without identifying the problem..... or its' cause.
Numerous error reports were forwarded to Adobe, but without response!
Unable to converse/communicate with anyone at Adobe Technical Support, it was suggested that we review Adobe Forums to see if anyone else was having similar UNKNOWN problems.  Sure enough we found many subscribers [probably hundreds] suffering the same frustrations during the downloading of 9.1 upgrade AND former upgrades. We also found a band-aid solution to the UNLNOWN Adobe problem - at the suggestion of others we created and logged into a new account - a nuisance, but it works..... so far!
It makes you wonder if ADOBE ever reads what's going on.  If they did, perhaps they good avert the problem/s and prevent service/subscriber discontent.
We certainly don't intend to ever download another Adobe upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "Adobe Reader X.x has encountered a problem and needs to close" has been up very many times and a variety of solutions has been suggested.

  • Adobe Reader 11 w/Windows 7 not responding

Why does Adobe Reader 11 fail to respond sometimes?  Re-installing allows it to function several times then we get a "not responding" message.  A plank screen is displayed and the number of pages but NO text!  Using repair produces the same results.  Upon 1st use of the repaired/reinstalled reader 11 we also get the adobe message "Cannot find or create the font "Times New Roman".  Some characters may ot display or print correctly".  The text is mostly displayed at this point.  The second attempt to display the same PDF or another displays completely w/out any error message at all.  At some point during the testing process Adobe Reader 11 stops working!  Restarts don't help.  Shutdowns don't help.  Seems only a re-install or repair allows us to correctly view our PDF document a number of times before we have to repeat the process.  Is help available?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements crashes on export

    Hello,
I am working on a video project in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. My computer is a Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Dell XPS M1530 laptop with the following hardware:
    Toshiba MK3263GSX Disk Drive
    285 GB, 149 GB used
    burst transfer rate: 3 MBps
    5400 RPM
    8 MB cache
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8300
    2.40 GHz
    4.00 GB of RAM
Whenever I try to export my project (which is less than 3 minutes long and contains no more than 2.25 GB of 720p 30fps video), the program crashes. Usually, the progress bar will go about half way before an Adobe message tells me that Premiere is running low on system memory. Not long after that, a Windows message appears telling me that "Adobe Premiere Elements has stopped working" and it crashes to the desktop. This has occured without fail perhaps 50 times in all my tries to get this to save.
As this project has progressed and become larger and larger, it has become more and more difficult to export. At first, there were no problems. Then, I had to start restarting the program or my computer immediately before exporting. After making a few more changes and additions, I have been entirely unable to export succesfully.
I have set my export settings at far lower levels than would be acceptable for this project, but the program still crashes. I was most recently trying to save the file as an .mpg with the NSTC Widescreen DVD settings. Trying to save in other file formats and at other settings has not been succesful.
I do realize that this is probably a commonly asked question, so I apoligize for bringing it up again. I have searched for information on this topic and have tried several suggestions, including changing the virtual memory and cleaning up my hard drive.
Is my computer just too weak to export this project? Would a more recent program fix my problem? Are there any techniques or suggestions I should try?
Thank you very much for your help.
