Ok I have downloaded the Adobe 7.0 from Adobe site, but when I go to install it locks up half way through, what do I do?

We cannot know. You are not providing any system information. Generally, though, Acrobat 7 is simply not compatible with contemporary operating systems. Read the text again.

I have tried many things to try to install it and I have been unsucessful. Please help I have windows 8 64bit.

This did not resolve my issue, it actually made things worse. I did what
you had told me to do below, and it did not work. Tried to access the
internet to respond back to you and my computer was not able to reach the
internet. Tried reaching adobe support and not was able to, even tried
calling was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one answered. I was not able
to re install windows. Contacted Asus from another computer and they were
not able to help me reinstall windows They had asked me to ship my computer
back to them, due to them not being able to resolve the issue and help me
reinstall windows. I luckily had a backup on my external hard drive and was
able to reinstall windows 8. Spent over an hour and half trying to fix
that. Here I am still not able to install adobe reader. I was very unhappy
with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
· Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
for the elevation prompt
· In the command prompt, type the command below:
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
appropriately.
· Restart the system.
· Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

Mac OSX: Flash CS3 Font Install Issues

I have a Mac Powerbook G4 with OS X installed and Adobe CS3.
I've installed a font. The font works in Photoshop and Illustrator
but not in Flash CS3. Why? I've put the font in the Library/Fonts
folder and the User/Fonts folder and it still doesn't show up in
Flash. Apparently this is a problem for a number of people see

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
Unfortunately, it looks like something is wrong with the file system and the installer can't see the root drive to install to. A Google search returns numerous results affecting various products and the recurring theme is that something is wrong with the disk. There are many recommendations from various sources, but nothing definitive.

I would try the following options:
Try using the PKG installer. This is used Mac SysAdmins to install Flash Player within their organization and uses a slightly different installer path, which may or may not work.
Some people have had success with disk and permissions repair some have not. You can try running a disk and permissions repair. After the disk and permissions repair is complete, reboot the system and try to install again using either the online installer (get.adobe.com/flashplayer) or the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
If these options do not work, I'd reach out to Apple support to see if they have a suggestion. If you do find a resolution to this, please let me know. I'll be happy to share it with people that encounter the problem in the future.

Just to be clear, I took your words to mean you are on the latest version of Safari, but are you also on the latest version of Flash? Go to System Preferences -> Flash Player and compare the version number to what is available to download for your computer on the Adobe Flash webpage. A few questions to consider: does the issue persist in other browsers? What model computer are you using specifically and are you equipped to handle the tasks you are looking to perform?

I was trying to activate my CS3 and got help from chat until he said it was an installing issue. The application opens and then closes unexpectedly.

I just got a new mac and I'm trying to download my Adobe CS3 onto it. I was able to download and then I tried to activate it. I entered the CS3 serial number and then asked for the serial number of the older version. I originally bought CS2 on disc and downloaded it onto my old mac and from there bought an upgrade to CS3. I no longer have the discs or box for CS2 and so I do not have the CS2 serial number. I contacted chat support who helped until I reached the point where I could open the application but then it would quit immediately and say "Adobe Update quit unexpectedly." Then he said it was an installing issue and turned me to the forums. Help, please?

JohnEden I would recommend running all available uninstallers to remove the current installation. The uninstallers are located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once you have ran the uninstallers then please also utilize the CC Cleaner Tool for a complete removal. Adobe Install with SSD Suggestions Needed

Built a new system over the holidays with Win7 64 bit. Bought the Academic/Student version of Production Premium Suite, so I have the 'trial' version installed until Adobe approves my credentials and sends me the activation code. My system has an SSD, which I want to keep 'clean' with just the OS, and then a hard drive where I want to store my apps and data.
I changed the registry to make my Program Files folder no longer point to the C:\ drive (the SSD) and to my hard drive, which is D:\.
Apparently, that was not a 'supported' change for Adobe, as I am encountering a Configuration Error 1. Looking through the web, I found these discussions:

Those discussions are a little dated, so I'm hoping some people in the forum have discovered better methods to have the Adobe suite work when the 'Program Files' folder has been changed from the C:\ drive. Here are my current thoughts:
1) Adobe fixed this issue with an update.
I can't find evidence of this, so I don't think it has been fixed. I also hesitate to add the updates and keep running into this bug. Does anyone know if this has been fixed?
2) I copy all of the 'Common Files' from the C:\ drive to the D:\ drive, as explained in one of the posts.
I did this. Interestingly, the Adobe install put all of the 64 bit apps on the D:\ drive, but I can't run them. I keep getting asked if I want to register now or later. When I click 'Later', it just asks me again. So, I have to think it is looking on the C:\ drive for something that is not there. The Adobe install put all of the 32-bit apps on the C:\ drive (so it ignored the registry change). I moved it all to my D:\ drive and these are working, but I just wonder what else I will encounter down the road.
3) I change my registry entries to point back to the C:\ drive.
I have installed other programs (that installed just fine to the D:\ drive, by the way), so I hesitate switching it back to C:\ as it will disrupt all of their links. If I have to go down this path, I will likely uninstall everything, and then re-install.
4) Any other suggestions?
This is the reason for this post. I listed the possible solutions I know of above, but am wondering if anyone else has a better work around.

I am really surprised that Adobe is hardcoding some of the installation paths. That is why the registry exists and standard pathnames (i.e. %PROGRAMFILES%) are defined in the first place. To ignore those choices is just plain poor programming.
I realize that 5 years from now, SSDs will be cheaper and in the TB range, but, currently, it is not uncommon for people to limit what is installed on them due to their size. So, I know I am not alone in this configuration desire, and I am not alone in encountering this problem with Adobe. I'm just surprised this has not been fixed (and it should have been programmed this way in the first place).

Okay, thanks guys for affirming the need to uninstall and reinstall. Luckily, it is a new system so I should not impact too much.
I have a 256GB, so it should fit, and I was debating about having the Adobe software on it, anyway, since, as you say, the point is to take advantage of the SSD even beyond the OS, and the Adobe SW can use some speed boost on load.
2TB SSD array, must be nice.
Still wish I could truly designate the software install location. Maybe CS7...

As a Realtor I can't access documents on our ARMLS web site, the tech support say it is an adobe reader issue?

For some reason, suddenly I can't access the documents tab on our ARMLS web site. I called Tech support for the Flex web site and they say they can open the tab and read the docs fine.
They are saying it is an Adobe issue on my computer. I un installed adobe and reloaded but the same result.

still can not read any PDF documents loaded to this site.
I have not tried un installing adobe but that is next, then reinstalling
while in Explorer.

Photoshop/Indesign cs2 install issues

Ok I just got my first Mac. The PC is six years old and slowly falling apart so I said why not spice it up a bit and get a Mac. Anyways...
I downloaded the trials of photoshop and indesign cs2 from Adobe. The installer starts and then starts to install, but it just quits after about ten seconds and says "please try installing again" both the photoshop and indesign (and i assume every other adobe install application) do this.
I read about the Version Cue issues, but that is not installed and that isn't an option in a custom install anyway.
This is kind of the reason I got the thing. Is a universal version coming out anytime soon?

A new UB version of Photoshop is expected @ spring 2007, since Photoshop is part of the Creative Suite, as is InDesign, I'd imagine Adobe will launch a UB Creative Suite around the same time, but when exactly in 2007, only Adobe can say.

More CS3 install issues

HI, I have Win xp and I had downloaded CS3. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and I have never had this problem before. I had an issue with CS3 and thought I would just uninstall and reinstall it again but after I uninstalled it just using add and remove programs I tried to reinstall and kept getting the message that it was already running and to let it finish installing before doing anything else. So I got mad and went in and uninstalled everything manually. Still the same message and now its showing up in add and remove and I cant remove it! I have gone into registry and tried to uninstall everything cs3 there but then every small thing I uninstalled showed up in add and remove programs with no option to uninstall it. So I put everything back in registry and photoshop is still showing up there even though I have removed everything.So I downloaded the Wincs3 clean script from Adobe. I followed all the instructions but I cant get that program to run and now I am PISSED OFF! I have never had this problem with Adobe before and I dont like it. After I did all that crap I tried reinstalling and keep getting that same stupid message. Can anyone help me reinstall photoshop? I dont know what else to do. I have to add that when I tried to run the WinCS3 cleaner it says its not installed and when I click on WINCS3 cleanupadditon it just pops up and closes immediately. I turned of the popup blocker and the firewall and still have the same problem.

Please run the CS3 Clean Script properly from a command prompt. Go to Start --> Run, type in cmd. Then use the cd DOS command to navigate to the folder where you stored the cleanup stuff (to make it simpler, I recommend you put it in a root level folder directly on the C: drive). So the sequence in the prompt would look something like that:
(initial prompt) C:\Documents and Settings\Merryjane
cd..
cd..
cd CS3Clean
CS3CleanupUtility
As for the rest - well, you created all the mess yourself. Going off on a rant and wrongly blaming Adobe doesn't change that. Probably you simply would have needed to restart the system after the uninstall to avoid all that. In any case, do just that and see, if after a restart eitehr the clean script or the installer run. When you do, make sure to be logged on with full admin privileges. It seems to me like you have other install/ uninstall processes from other programs pending that never finished and now get in the way of your Adobe install. Full administrative access would allow them to finish. If you see nothing going on, check your task manager and terminate all instances of
msiexec.exe that may be running, then attempt another install.

Adobe TV Issues on Mac

I first asked this question in the Lounge (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3988002) and it was suggested that I try here.
Sorry if this isn't the right location for this posting, but I couldn't see any specific section for Adobe TV issues.
We seem to be having issues with Adobe TV on Macs where the video never loads.
This has been tested with OS X 10.6 and 10.7 and using Firefox 4, 5, 6 and 7 and Safari 5.
The video's load fine using PC's on our corporate network with Firefox so I know it isn't our proxy server configuration.
The advert before the video will load and I get the countdown to when the video will start, but the video never does start and the time at the bottom left is always at 00:00.
The only thing I can think of is that this is a permissions issue as our Mac users do need to enter proxy login credentials to get to the internet, but there is no pop-up login box or any other error message being displayed.
I spotted this question http://forums.adobe.com/message/3113557#3113557 about someone who was having issues with AdobeTV on their iMac.
I've tried changing the Flash settings, but this has made no difference.
If anyone can help me figure out what's going on, I'd be very grateful.

Your problem seems to be related with video. Are you able to see any youtube video on Mac?

SP2010 Foundation Post Install issues on development workstation - Database and Services

Just recently installed SP2010 Foundation for a development workstation. Platform isWin7 X64 pro, SQL 2008 (Developer edition)
(1) Looks like search has some configuration issues. This is in the Windows event log
The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.Administration.SPSearchJobDefinition (ID 38eefca2-d092-47f4-a833-23f8280c5f63) threw an exception. More information is included below.

Status - "Upgrade Available",
(3) In Central Admin > Manage Database Upgrade Status

when you run the config wizard( you mentioned many times), which option you select from 2nd try to on ward....cannot disconnect this server from farm?
are you using any script to install ?
I would say run the config wizard without disconnecting and this server will host CA option.
from the central admin > manager server in farm...on top you will see farm version and config database name. note it
from the Manage database Upgrade status page note all the db names
now match it on sql and keep those and all other should gone now as a clean process.

Re-Installing Issue

Hi,
I have a G5 I had to re install and erase my HD cause I had issues, now that i am rebuilding the system it won't let me install FCS, I get to the DVDP disc and it says Installation failed.... I tried it a few time and I get the same error. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Made sure the disks are clean? I'd call Apple on an install issue if it's new or if you suspect a damaged disk and you're the registered user.
Which OS are your running? QuickTime Version?

Webutil install issue

Hello,
I have a strange WebUtil install issue on 10gIAS 10.1.2.0.2. I downloaded the 1.0.6 WU version and put it into a webutil directory under forms (which the pre-configuration of AS seem to assume) and when I call the forms servlet with ?config=webutil the "RegisterWebUtil - Loading WebUtil Version 1.0.6" shows but the main applet doesn't load. The webutil HTML template is found and looks OK in View Source but no applet. The config section has a archive_jini but it behaves as if the main jar can't be found(?) Nothing extra in the jinit-console, even at log level 5. webutil.cfg is copied to forms/server and frmwebutil.jar to forms/java.
