Adobe 7 profesional on vista 64

I installed adobe 7 profesional on vista 64 but printer drivers are not installed so it is not possible to generate new pdf files; any help to find out how to install pdmaker in vista?

VISTA might handle AA7 as I recall, but AA8.1.2 was the first to work with 64 bit OS.

  • Adobe Audtion 3.0 Vista Compatibility

Please advise me, as I am lost.
I need to find out whether the application called "Adobe Audtion 3.0 Vista Compatibility" is
    1) a proper program that requires its own purchase/license
    or
    2) just a service release, which does not require a license doc. but which is thus covered by the license doc. for Audition 3.
I need this for a Software License Compliance report.
I do not have access the the company's PC, so I cannot go a check anywhere or ask anybody.
I sit in a different company.
Normnally I can find the info I seek on the internet, but I cannot decide on this one.
The info comes from 'Add/remove programs'.
    Please Help!!

I appreciate your answer. If you are not 100% certain I will see if anybody else has a
suggestion - if not I will go by your reply.
    Thank you.

This fix worked on Windows Vista Business Edition (32-Bit).

I have windows XP media center. I uninstalled Acrobat 8 to download Acr 9 pro extended. No adobe printer was installed .
Tried the steps given here by Steve Lionel. I was able to add the "Adobe PDF Converter" as printer. Although after the 7th step in Steve's fix, the wizard asked me to search for some files (from XP CDrom) which I was able to locate in the Windows folder-drivers folder and the system32-spool folder.
I went to acrobat, opened a pdf file and tried to print with this printer and saved it on the desktop. A file appears, but adobe cannot open it however it activates adobe illustrator and opens in that program.
Lots of time has gone. No solution yet.
    Appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Update!!!
I tried printing on this printer from a webpage and it converted the webpage like charm.
I am more than happy even if I get to use this printer to convert webpages to pdf as now I don't have to install those shady pdf converters and printer drivers.
This is good as the fix given here works even for XP.
    Thanks for this wonderful solution.

Why the question marks? Can you open PDF files or not? You don't need Firefox to open PDF files.

The log covers many attempts.  The latest was on 29th September.
Following a suggestion in another forum thread, I checked the file permissions for folder 'c:\users\martin\appdata\local\temp'.   As far as I can see, they give full control to the SYSTEM, administrator and sole user (martin) accounts.  There are no options with 'Deny' against them.
I have run Microsoft FixIt.  I also tried the Windows Installer Cleanup utility (msicuu2.exe) but I got 'Access Denied' with no further details.
    Any suggestions?

I have managed to edit the Registry so as to get the Windows Installer (MSIExec) to write a verbose (detailed) log.  From this, and some web forums, I found that the problem has been caused by a Microsoft Windows security update, KB2918614.  This was applied on my PC on 14 August but I think it was released on 12 August.  My Windows version is Vista and I don't know if this update or a similar has been applied to other Windows versions.
For more information see wix-users - SECREPAIR: CryptAcquireContext: Could not create the default key container.
I went into Windows Update on my Control Panel and found how to uninstall update KB2918614.  When I had done this, followed by a Restart, I was able to install AIR and the software that uses it.

Save the file to your Downloads folder.
Open your Control Panel and click Uninstall A Program under Programs and Features.
Uninstall the Flash Player plugin from the list.
Close the Control Panel, reboot and run the installer from your Downloads folder.

  • Adobe 5.0 vs Vista - ARGH!

Hello, all, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I've got Adobe Acrobat 5.0 (full version) installed on my laptop which is running Vista. I can view documents, but not convert files to PDF. I've read a few forums that have told me to upgrade, but the newer versions don't come with the Form Tool that I use all the time.
What to do? Is there a "patch" that can make it work???
    Thanks in advance!

You may be able to print to file using the Acrobat Distiller printer. Then start Distiller and open the print file in Distiller to complete the process. I think the major problem with VISTA is that you can not use AcroTray that automates the process without upgrading. It is at least worth the shot to see if the suggestion works. Please report back for our information.
If it works, you might consider changing the port for the AD printer to file. Then you will simply have to open the file in Distiller each time. A bit of a pain, but I do not think there is another way without upgrading to at least AA8.1 (or the current AA9).

  • Adobe 9.2 and Vista

Hi, I have just installed Vista Service Pack 2 and discovered I could not open pdf files.  A brief error "An Internal Error Has Occurrred" appeared every time I tried to open a pdf or launch Adobe Reader 9.  I have managed to overcome this by completely switching off UAC on my pc.  However, I would prefer to be able to run UAC and wonder if there is a fix or patch, or settings I can modify, to enable me to use Adobe Reader and UAC at the same time.  Neither do I wish to  downgrade Vista by uninstallaing Service Pack 2.

Try reinstalling Adobe Reader, that may fix your prob
