Adobe 8.0 Standard vs Pro.

My manager has Adobe 8.0 Pro and can do links in PDFs to pages that are farther down in the same document.
We have the license to another 8.0 Standard version, Will this give me the ability to create links as well?
Thanks!

Yes.
Mike

  • Difference Between Adobe After Effects Standard and Pro for Mac

    Hi Gang
Can anyone tell me the major differences between After Effects 7.0 'Standard' and 'Pro 7.0' for Mac?
    Thanx
    Mike

AE 7 Pro contained additional features (such as motion tracking/stabilization) and plugins/effects that were not included in the Standard version.
With the release of CS3, Adobe abandoned the Standard/Pro segregation - now there is only one professionally-featured After Effects.

  • How to use Adobe LiveCycle Forms Standard / Pro to leverage features in Adobe Reader

Can someone please tell me how to use the Adobe LiveCycle Forms Standard or Pro module to leverage features in Adobe Reader? Do you also need to have the Reader Extensions Module?
The forms data sheet says that it is possible to leverage features in Adobe Reader but does not go on to detail how.

Depends on your deployment pattern.  You can just use Reader Extensions if you're publishing forms on a site, if you need to prefill or perform other processing on the template then LiveCycle Forms is needed.  If you want to render to HTML5 for tablet support then Forms Pro is needed.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard Question - Converting PDF to word document

Question:  I currently have Adobe Acrobat 8.  I need to convert a PDF to word document.  I know how to do that but the outcome of the word document sometimes varies as to retaining the exact formatting.  How can I retain exact formatting?  Is there something that I'm not doing that I need to be doing in order to retain the formatting.  Also do newer versions (Adobe Acrobat 11 (Standard or Pro?)) do a better job of converting and retaining formatting?

Retaining the exact formatting is not possible in practice or in theory because Word documents are nothing like PDFs. For example, Word will cheerfully reflow text onto new lines or pages, while this will never happen with a PDF.
That said, Adobe keep trying to get closer to what people need. Sometimes this results in complex parts of the file being made into an uneditable graphic or text box.
Bottom line is you can get the basics into Word and then (according to your time, experience, and the abilities of Word) you might be able to reconstruct.
On no account convert official forms to Word.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Standard User

How can I create a form that can be received, completed and returned via an Apple iphone.  If it is possible how can this be accomplished?  I have three personnel working in the field that need to send in daily reports.  This would be a great help, unless someone has a better idea.  Thanks, Wayne

*I certainly appreciate the response.  Are these guidelines for iPhone
applications or general use of forms with Adobe Acrobat X Standard and Pro
    X.  I tried to create a form that our customers could use after their jobs
were completed (to get feed back on performance, etc.).  I had no problem
creating the forms and automatically distributing them.  The  recipient
would receive the form via email, open the form and fill it out.  When they
clicked the submit icon it would not return the form (all recipients were
using adobe software).  The icon would blink but the page remained, you had
to manually close the page.  Have we wasted our money on Adobe or is this
just a bad idea?  If the software is so version dependent (you never know
what software or version the recipient is using).  What is your
    recommendation.  Thanks, Wayne

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard and Pro - dialog prompt when opening PDF from Internet Explorer 9

    Good morning.
I am having an issue where our ends users that have either Adobe Acrobat X Standard (AAXS) or Adobe Acrobat X Pro (AAXP) cannot open a PDF within Internet Explorer 9 without being prompted by a dialog box to OPEN, SAVE or SAVE AS. Our user that have Adobe Reader X (ARX) only are ok. The ARX users can click on a PDF link within the browser and it will automatically open in a new tab. However, the AAXS and AAXP users will click on that same link, but are then prompted with a dialog box to either OPEN, SAVE or SAVE AS. Has any one else seen this before? We would like it to be so that all users - no matter what Adobe PDF program they are using of the 3 mentioned - can open a PDF link by just clicking on the link and no additional dialog options appear.
The ARX users have the same Internet settings within the Adobe preferences as the AAXS and AAXP users. The check box is checked to have PDFs open within the browser, which they do, but that dialog box always appears for AAXS and AAXP users. Any thoughts?
    Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. I stumbled across something today after posting. I had already known that If the ARX user also had one of the other products (AAXS or AAXP), then they would get the dialog box. Here is what I just figured out: if the user uninstalled ARX and re-installed (still having both ARX and AAXS or AAXP in the end) then they no longer get the dialog box. It seems like perhaps its an issue the AAXP and AAXS are overwriting something in the registry.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Unterschied Standard und Pro

    Hallo zusammen

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro?

I am updating a project, that I did not original work on, that was developed using Acrobat 7.0 and Distiller 7.0. It added the ability to save report files in PDF format and to digitally sign them. Besides the files generated by the SDK there are other files that were generated and edited by Acrobat 7.0 and Distiller 7.0. Files ending in .js looks like I just need a text editor and .api is generated by the SDK. Then I have files templates BlankPageDoc.pdf, BlankPageDoc.ps, TempDoc.pdf that were generate by Distiller. Then I have another file with the extension .joboptions that I don't know how it was generated.
So do I need Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro to update this project for 8.0 and 9.0? I know I need Adobe Acrobat Standard to run it but will I need something in Pro for development?

Pro certainly includes various tools not found in Standard that you may find useful.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro & Adobe Acrobat X Standard questions

Hi, I'm running into a problem.  I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro on my computer at work, however, I'm finding that my field personnel have Adobe Acrobat X Standard.  I've written some javascripts on a form to automatically calculate when a number is entered into a field.  I'm finding that the form works fine for the folks with Adobe Acrobat X Pro, but does not work for people with Adobe Acrobat X Standard.
Is there a specific reason for this?   I've been going nuts trying to find out why this is happening.  I even created the form in Adobe LiveCycle ES2 and the form still will not calculate for those that have Adobe Acrobat X Standard.  In addition to that, it doesn't work with Adobe Reader either.
Anyone has any idea why this is happening?
(I'm going to post this same message over in Adobe Acrobat in case I've put this in the wrong spot.)
    Thanks
    Connie

Hi thanks for the reply yes the Epson software was up todate
I have fixed the problem by repairing my Disk Permission and a restart

  • I have Adobe Acrobat XI standard, but would like to trial the "compare documents" feature on Pro. I tried to download a trial version of Pro, but the installer indicated that "it detected a more fully featured version of the product" - presumably my stand

Okay - just realised that the last screen was just asking for a "title" for my question!
I have Adobe Acrobat XI standard, but would like to trial the "compare documents" feature on Pro. I tried to download a trial version of Pro, but the installer indicated that "it detected a more fully featured version of the product" - presumably my standard version? - and stopped installation. It is not clear to me what my options are for either upgrading to Pro, or selectively purchasing the "compare documents" plugin (if possible). I am using what is presumably an Enterprise version of acrobat (i.e. my employer owns it, not me) - so not sure what limitations that results in. I think this is a simple question, but would be grateful for advice.

    - You can't install Acrobat Pro alongside Acrobat Standard. You will need to remove Standard to be able to install Pro.
    - You (probably) can't upgrade your license if it's a part of an enterprise license. The entire license will need to be upgraded.
    - It's not possible to install just the "Compare Documents" function as a sort of add-on to Acrobat Standard.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Standard for Windows upgrade to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for OS X

I have changed the platforms, from win to mac, and Adobe Acrobat is required for my work. I own Adobe Acrobat XI Standard for Windows and I was interested if I could change the platform to OS X, but unfortuantelly XI Standard is not available for mac. Also, I could not find a way on Adobe.com site to upgrade XI Standard to XI Pro and then change the platform.
    Please advise.

I believe Adobe have been known to deal with "crossgrades" before, but you would need to contact sales in person to deal with this.

I am on a Windows 7 OS attempting to reduce pdf size with my Adobe Acrobat Standard XI & Pro.  The application keeps timing out and  at the Subsetting embedded fonts portion and the application gives "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working" and then closes.  The document is 275 pages.  Is there something I can do to stop this?

    Hi Ricci,
Since when are you facing this issue? Did you tried system restore to a date before this problem occured.
Does acrobat stop working when you open this specific pdf file or with any pdf file that you open?
