Adobe 8.1.2 print size larger than adobe 7.0.5

I have started rolling out Adobe 8.1.2 to replace 7.0.5 and noticed a significant change in the size of the files spooled to the printer ....
Printing a pdf for example in adobe 7.0.5 to a file results in 350k but in Adobe 8.1.2 this results in a 1.5mb file.
This has a massive impact on our printers as some documents are being increased to a much larger size than what Adobe 7.0.5 gives out.
Can anyone explain this and how to make the print size the same as what Adobe 7.0.5 gives out ...
Thanks for any assistance

I believe that I found a fix for this by going into 'My Computer'>Tools>Folder Options>File Types, where I changed the 'destination' file used to open PDF files from the older Adobe that was listed to the most recently installed version (8.1.2) (which is AcroRd32.exe, not simply AcroRd.exe). This change now shows up when I'm opening a downloaded PDF file; the automatic program to do so is now indicated as the newly installed Adobe 8.1.2. My other PDF files are now opening automatically.

  • Why does my artwork print slightly larger than actual size? - MacOS 10.9.2

I have an issue which I have no answer.  Every time I print an artwork for product mockup, say a 3x5 card, it prints slightly larger than a 3x5 card.  I have to manually scale my artwork down to 98.5 in the print dialog to get as close as possible to the actual size.  Its not related to a specific printer.  I have an HP printer and a Canon printer and the issue exists exactly the same between the two.  I'm running Illustrator 17.1 on an iMac running MacOS 10.9.2.  Can you please help make this easier for me?

    Wayne,
Are you using PostScript printer drivers (or at least PostScript emulation)? Non PostScript drivers may behave a bit like gremlins.
What happens if you Save As or Print to PDF and then print from that using the actual size/no adaptation to paper size?

  • I cannot print anything larger than a 4x5" from LR4 to my Epson 3880

No matter what I do I cannot print pictures larger than a 4x5" image from LR4 to my Epson 3880.
I have doublechecked all of my settings in the page and print sections. I have even watched various internet training on printing from LR4 including Matt Kloskowski in Kelby Training....all to no avail.
I have absolutely no problem with printing in PS CS6.

The problem continues to be exporting a photo from IPHOTO to PE 9 organizer
Why do this? You're just making life harder. If you want to use iphoto as your image manager, don't use organizer, or vice versa. If you want to use iphoto to organize your photos, set up PSE as your external editor there, or export the photos to the desktop, save the edited photos as new images and reimport them to iphoto. Using both only makes your life harder and creates problems, as you've discovered.

  • PSE 9: Image size is printing/saving larger than what I selected.

I was sent some pdf files for a banner for my kids' upcoming birthday party.  When I open one of the images it said that the image size was 7"x7" (it's a 7" circle) so I left it as is.  The only thing I changed on the sign was I changed the color of a number and two letters from pink to blue and that was it.  I then saved the image and gave it a new name.  When I look at it, upload it to the print shop or print it from my home computer the image is no longer 7" but is now 8" (the circle) and it larger than the rest of the banner pieces.  I have no idea how to get it to print/upload at the original 7" size.

I opened this image in PSE, and the diameter measures 6" on my equipment. Be that as it may, if you want to reduce the size try the following:
Go to Window and check rulers to make them visible
    Open picture file
Duplicate background layer. Shut off visibility of the background layer by clicking on its eye icon. Work on the background copy layer.
Access the move tool, and using one of the corner handlles drag towards the center to make image smaller. Commit.
    Flatten image

  • Print Size different than what is on screen

I use Elements 9 and print to an Epson 7900, when I have an image 12 1/2" x 18" the actual print size is coming out 12 1/4" x18 any suggestions, It's getting really frustrating......

Make sure the print resolution is the same as the image resolution. You can check in the Elements Editor: File à Print
In the print dialog check actual size.

  • Problem with printing graph larger than screen size in labview6 (plots are shopped).

I have attached with my message the report I try to print. It is a Labview 6 vi.
I had no problem with Labview 5. But with Labview 6, the plots are shopped (all the rest of the report is correct). What is printed is not what I see.
The graph is intentionnaly built very large, then rescale to fit page, in order to improve the print quality of the plots. I repeat it, it worked fine with Labview 5.
    Thanks if you can help.

    Hi Lionel,
I experienced a similar problem days ago: re-compiling a vi from LV 5.1 to LV 6.0.2 its front panel could not be printed anymore; no error, just a blank sheet.( The mass compile procedure did not reported any error).
The only way to get out from this headache was to re-build the vi in LV 6.0.2, I simply selected all its diagram and copied it in a new vi, saved it and I got print-outs!
    Try it.
    Good luck,
    Alberto

  • Why is audio file size larger than in Flash?

I use both Flash and Captivate. Final file size is a big consideration. I wondered why the file size of the audio in Captivate is almost twice as large as the same audio if it's used in Flash. I'm using the same audio settings for both. Does anyone know what causes the audio compression to be different in Captivate than in Flash?

OK, sounds like memory will be fine, so let's look at some other stuff...
Is it only one particularly keynote presentation that slows up for you, or does keynote behave in the same way even if you start from scratch and create a new presentation?
If it's just the one presentation then there's probably some content (possibly video) within it that KN takes exception to. Sometimes a single problematic slide or piece of content can slow down the whole app.
Is the problematic presentation one that was imported from Powerpoint? If so, import it again and look carefully at the import error/warning logs.
Before you start keynote, start up activity monitor - which will give you an indication of what programs are using all the CPU/memory/disk bandwidth etc. You'll then have an idea of whether it is KN maxing out on CPU or whether anything else is dragging the system down.
Another thing you could try would be to log in to a different user account on your machine (create one if necessary) and then try opening the presentation from within this different account. If this works for you then it suggests a problem with the keynote plist file in your original user account.
I don't know if it'd be acceptable to you, but if you could post a link to your problematic presentation then I could download it and try it out on my normally reliable Keynote on one of my computers. (Make sure that you've ticked the box to embed all media in the presentation)
Hope some of this is helpful,
    Mike.

  • Font size larger than 72pt?

I'm new to this product, so this may be a stupid question...
I'm trying to create a pdf with form fields. In one field, a text field, I want the font size to be around 150pt. However, it's not available in the dropdown, so I type it into the font size field and hit enter. It appears in the design view with the new, larger size, but when I go to Preview PDF it shows up very small. However, when I use one of the drop down font sizes it works just fine. Oh, and I have allowed multiple lines and tried both rich text and plain text. Frankly, I've played with this field in every way I can imagine to get the 150pts (or even anything other than the drop down sizes) to show, and I just can't get it to work.
    Help?

Works fine for me ....I wonder if it has something to do with the font you are using!

If a create a new Word document and I type letters of 72 font, the letters do not print. If the font size is reduced to 48 then it prints. The brand new printer is connected to my laptop via USB. I'm using an HP Laptop Pro 7420s, 32 bit with MS Office H&B 2013. Any ideas as to what should I check? Thank you.

    Hi,
Install the latest firmware for the printer, that should address this type of issues.
For a USB connection use the following tool:

  • Animation size larger than actual image size after saving as gif?

    Hi,
I just created an animation (600x600 pixel) and saved it as gif. Everything seems fine except the grainy quality and the fact that it is nearly twice as large as my actual image size (100%) shown on photoshop. I don't mind the grainy quality but the large size is disturbing... Anyone know why or how to fix this problem?
Any help will be appreciated as it's an anniversary gift and I'm stuck on the last step running out of time . Thanks in advance!
    Angela.

The 300GB partition is the partition I am booting off of, and the one I was writing about. Disk0s1 is the EFI partition, 210MB. The other Internal hard drive is the core storage physical volume, already mounted, mounted in the image. Recovery HD is the 650MB system recovery partition.
I rebooted to the recovery partition and used Disk Utility to verify the volume, it said everything checked out alright.
In disk utility, the top entry has this data
Name :     Internal Hard Drive     Capacity :     319.21 GB (319,213,174,784 Bytes)
Type :     Logical Volume Group     Available :     16.8 MB (16,777,216 Bytes)
Disk Status :     Online     Used :     319.2 GB (319,196,397,568 Bytes)
However the other entry, right below it has this
         Mount Point :     /     Capacity :     318.88 GB (318,877,626,368 Bytes)
Format :     Encrypted Logical Partition     Available :     202.18 GB (202,175,160,320 Bytes)
Owners Enabled :     Yes     Used :     116.7 GB (116,702,466,048 Bytes)
Number of Folders :     241,519     Number of Files :     1,246,454
So I guess the reboot fixed my problem, df -h now shows 37% used, but the logical vomume group still shows only 16MB free. Anyways, things seem to be working now.

  • Time machine backup file size larger than size of backup hard drive.  Is something wrong?

My 3 TB external hard drive (My Book Studio) is my Time Machine drive.  But Finder says that backup.backupdb is 6.9 TB in size, or over twice the drive's capacity.  Should I assume that the drive is corrupt or failing and that I can't rely on Time Machine now?  Or is Finder measuring something other than the actual size of the file...?

I have this problem as well.  I have two laptops backed up to the same external hard drive, and I would like to move just one of the laptop's backups to a new drive.  The partition for both is 600GB, but the size of one laptop's backup folder is 850GB and for the other it is 3.3TB.
I would like to know the actual size of each laptop's backup folder.  Getting the size of the volume is not useful because I need to know the sizes of the two individual backup folders within it.

  • Ipod touch display issue--default page size larger than display

When any page appears on the display, whether 'enter passcode' page, the homepages, or app pages, the page momentarily appears at the true (display) size, then increases in size so that the display shows only about 80% of the page.  Pinching has no effect on sizing, but finger swipes will move page within the display frame.  This first occurred today after about 6 months of ownership.  Any thoughts?

Tap the screen twice with three fingers to get to normal screen. Then go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn off Zoom. Also see:

  • Why is my iPad print is larger than PC print.

I print from my PC and 1 page is printed but when I print from my iPad 2 pages are printed for the same print job.  The iPad appears to enlarge the print job slightly, does anyone know why?  Or how to modify the print settings.  I also downloaded the Printer Pro app and tried to print through the app and had the same results.

Try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red slider, and until you see the silver apple. See if that helps.

  • IPhoto 09 - limited print sizes

    Hi,
I'd like to order print sizes larger than 8"x12" (the largest available via the Order print dialog). It seems my options are limited because of my UK billing address (glasgow, scotland) acording to the dialog. Is there any way that I could order larger print sizes from somewhere else and pay the additional postage?
    cheers all

  • MS Project - Printing to dimensions larger than max print driver settings

I have a large (2000+) task Gantt chart but no wide-format printer.
I've tried printing to PDF - the tasks, durations, start, finish & resources columns show but the bars don't and the data replicates 4x so I end up having to mess with the file, deleting the extraneous pages, before I send it out for review, anyway.
I tried downloading a wide-format printer driver simply so I could select that printer as my 'default' and set the printer to 'print' to 24x36 while I work with the document, but can't install it because I don't actually have a wide-format printer on my
    network.
    Two questions:
First:  How do I get the bars to show in a PDF print?
Second:  How do I set the print area larger than my max paper size of 17x11?
    Thanks.

Thank you very much for your response, Guillaume.
The issue is that I only have standard sized printers available to me.  The drivers of these control and restrict the 'print' size of the PDF file.  I had already selected the columns, etc., but could not get the right-hand part of the document
to appear no matter what settings I changed.  I tried manipulating the columns printed, the page size, etc. but nothing worked.
Additionally, no matter what else I did (and I suspect it had to do with the program attempting to print the Gantt bars) I ended up with multiple prints of the document within my finished PDF.  Meaning I had to use the Professional version of Adobe
to go back and delete the 50+ pages I didn't need before I could distribute what was useful to everyone else on the team.
I did manage to solve this issue by downloading a wide-format printer driver (even though we don't have a wide-format printer on the network, which was a feat in and of itself!).  Now I can choose the non-existent printer as my default when I'm working
in / on this document and can print to PDF on a virtual 36" page - showing everything (in little tiny mouse print).  That will be my next challenge - but I'm more than halfway there!
    Best~
    Philippa
