(Adobe 8 Standard) When I print to PDF my redactions (black highlights/100% opacity) get messed up.

They become see-through! Anyone know why this is and whether there's a way to fix it?
The reason I want to print to PDF is to save a new version of the PDF that doesn't allow you to remove the highlights. I know you can save individual PDF pages as TIFF files then re-insert them into the PDF, but this takes forever (as does printing and scanning etc.). I guess my broader question is, does anyone know of the easiest way to do non-removeable redactions in Adobe 8 Standard?

Throughout this exchange it has seemed like you don't understand exactly what's going on on my end. You said "I don't think it does" in reference to my saying that the opacity gets reduced. Is this just an Adobe glitch? Do you, as a software developer, have any of your own thoughts on the issue?

I have a Lexmark Interact S605 All In One Printer. When I scan documents as a pdf, and go to print, the actual document does not even fill the page. In fact it's a very small version of the document in the middle of the page. How do I somehow change the Page Scaling to "Fit To Printable Area?" It's embarrassing when I send these documents out to clients and they come back to me and say that these pdfs are very small on the page and do not even come close to filling up the entire page as a pdf should. Try deleting the Adobe plugin and use the built in Preview. Hard drive level Library/Internet Plugins. If it isn't there, check your user Library.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library.

You can also try opening the PDF with preview, then doing a copy and paste to TextEdit and printing from there.
Adobe makes it easier, but you do have software to accomplish this.
Only download Adobe reader from this site, to avoid "fakes/spoofs/malware" that will cause damage to your machine.

I'm getting a raised line on the right side of every page (it looks like toner is being deposited on the paper) when I print a PDF, but not when I print other kinds of documents. This is with a Laserjet 1300N, using Win7 Pro 64 bit. What can I do about this?

From Adobe Reader, launch the Print Dialog.
Click the Advanced button located at the Buttom.
Make sure to check the Print As Image ceckbox and accept.
Now try printing and check for any improvement.

When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages I get multiple duplicate pages.

When I print large PDF's of 10+ pages the print order goes in the following sequence.
Page 1, Page 1-2, Page 1-2-3, Page 1-2-3-4, Page 1-2-3-4-5 .... and continues in that fassion until the printer is out of paper.
When a smaller document prints it comes out fine like page 1-9 in sequesnce as it should. I am using Windows XP Pro SP3 fully patched and Adobe Reader X 10.1.3. This is very strange as there is only one machine in the office that is doing it and I have tried instalingin and reinstalling the printers and the Adobe readr in order to fix this and there isn't really anything that I can find that might be causing the issue.

A simple way is to flatten the form fields, which converts the field appearances to regular page contents. You can do this with JavaScript or PDF Optimizer (Advanced > PDF Optimizer > Discard Objects > Flatten form fields). I believe that I figured it out.
holding finger over a word, will bring the copy/define menu
holding finger where there is NO text, empty space or image, will bring up the annotation menu.
but note that if you have a scanned document, where the words are actually an image, you will get the annotation menu, since there really is no text, just a bunch of pixels that look like text...
you can turn scanned text into "real" text by using OCR functionality of the desktop version of Acrobat Pro (not Reader), it would then create a layer of invisible text under the image of the text.

Look everyone that comes here with a support problems has gone through all the normal channels, around and round in circles with no one seeming to be interested. They've called every phone number, every email address they can find. They have been put on hold and bounced fifty times to another operator only to be hung up on. If Adobe would bring back support to main land and have people that know what's going on instead of having people that people can barely understand read from scripts. Scripted information only applies about 10 % of the time. I'm just giving people an alternative. after they have torn their hair out going the normal route. If they had been able to get a solution they wouldn't be coming here for help.
There should be a forum set up just for people to air these issues and Adobe employees forced to man it. Then we wouldn't have to have such a Bad attitude. Right now Adobe's Support reputation is worse than Intuit's which did have the absolutely worse on the Planet. Now they are number 2.

In the Print dialog box you should be able to indicate which page you want to print and that page will print. For instance, if you are viewing page 4, in the Print dialog, select "current page" and page 4 prints. This won't work if your page is actually a 2-page spread. What size is the booklet?

Sometimes if a .pdf is smaller than actual 8 1/2 x 11 or bigger, you'll either get way too much of the image and it's cut off, or the image is too small. You should also try to do this in the print driver window: Properties -> Advanced -> Image Options -> Disable "PostScript pass-through"

Michael's reponse is correct. However, as far as I knew, OFFICE 2007 came with printer metrics turned off, meaning it is not supposed to be sensitive to the printer selection. The setting is buried in the options list for compatibility. If it is turned off and a change in printer does affect the result, it would appear just one more of the many things in OFFICE 2007 that MS messed up. The latest one for me has been helping students with the messed up equation editor when you want to add equation numbers in a "standard" way. One of the MS employees even wrote a workaround macro for that problem.

Adobe reader crashes when I print a pdf

When I try and print a PDF document, Adobe Reader crashes. The rainbow pinwheel of death comes up. The Force Quit dialogue box says that Adobe reader is not responsive. What do I do?

Thanks. Lots of us on Macs never install Adobe stuff. With Preview you can do a lot of things (like instant alpha, and dragging pages from one pdf to another). Are you also aware that in the Print menu there is a direct Print to PDF option?

Acrobat Pro 8: When I print to pdf I get windows print error message

This just started happening when I installed my acrobat professional 8.0 on my new computer (with Windows XP Pro). Everything works fine, but when I print a document to .pdf, I get that windows printer pop-up message that says that it was unable to print. As a consequence, I get a bunch of allegedly unprinted documents in my printer queue that I have to keep deleting. This is more an annoyance than anything else, but can anyone tell me how to stop this from happening??

OK, I'm still not sure I'm getting this, but I printed to file, and then opened the prn file in Acrobat Distiller. The actual pdf file was not in the folder, but I could open it with distiller.

Adobe Acrobat - When i print, it scales to much

So im going to print a PDF document from Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, and every print setting is correct. Its on A4 and on the print server it is also A4, So when i press Print, i go to the printer (Konika Minolta 352) and it says on the display: Wrong papersize etc, and it asks for the manual paper tray. I get the option to change the tray, so i select the A4 tray and it starts to print.
When it's done printing 1/3 of the document is missing and the text is to big. I go check the printer options again and everything is normal. The scale is also normal. When i try to print it on A3, its okey, all of the text is the size of A4 (imagine that you put an empty A4 paper over the text on the A3 and the A4 covers everything)
So what is happening? My Co-worker tried to print the same document from Acrobat Reader, and it went Ok, didnt ask for another tray or anything else that i experienced.
So please, anyone who can help me?

Yes in fact i did, this is my print settings from Adobe Acrobat when i hit CTRL-P
EDIT: It says Type: Konica Minolta c360 series, but that is wrong, but its the same setup as if i change to the C352 series.
