Adobe 8 Std Printer Issue

Does anyone out there know of this problem (and hopefully a solution)
I have installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Std on a users PC but have a problem towards the end of the installation where the installation reports that it is unable to install the printer or PDF converter.
I have tried 4 seperate installation but get the same problem at the end of each installation. I have removed any printer driver that may be causing a conflict but nothing appears to help.
Any ideas

Philip,
Check the "Abcpy.ini" file in the Acrobat 8 installer directory (you can open it with any text editor; for example, Notepad).
This file includes a field for pre-serializing the application. When the serial number is entered, the installer will use the serial number from the file.
Verify if there's a serial number copied in the file (in the field ISX_SERIALNUMBER=). If so, double-check the number to make sure it matches *exactly* your serial number.
Let me know what you find out.

  • V10.1.5 upgrade - Adobe PDF printer issues - font embedding

    Hi,
Accepted the 10.1.5 (Acrobat Standard) upgrade.  Have started having "Adobe PDF" printer failures with MS Outlook 2010: Font embedding issues.
Is there a setting somewhere I need to tweak to tell it to substitute with another font when it runs into licensing issues?
I've re-installed CutePDF as a workaround, but would prefer to use the Adobe printer.
    save-as-filename.log:
    "%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[ Error: LucidaSans cannot be embedded because of licensing restrictions. ]%%
%%[ Font vendor (B&H) does not permit this font to be embedded in PDF. ]%%
%%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: xshow ]%%
    Stack:
    500
    /l
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%"
    Regards,
    JD

In the settings file you should be able to set to continue even if the embed fails. In that case, I think you will simply have the PDF without the one font being embedded. You can also set to never embed it in the settings file (if you can find it on your system).

  • AP - F110 - SAPFPAYM - Adobe Checks - Printing Issue

We have ECC 6.0, and we recently started using Payment medium workbench to print adobe check forms.  All configuration and programming is done, except that we encounter an issue once in a while.
Using F110, we will complete a proposal, review it and then execute the payment medium run.  Out of 60 or so check runs, we will have a batch that does not print the last few checks out.
For example, in one instance, out of 100-200 checks, the last 4-6 did not print.  All tables (PAYR, etc.) and vendor were updated with a payment document and check number, and the spool does show an adobe image available for those particular items.
The most recent occurrence involved 587 checks, where the last 54 did not print.  They are visible on the spool.
The logs of the payment run do not show any error messages or warnings.  We verified with our Basis team that there are no messages or logs associated with the actual printers, and yet, they just do not print!
I have searched notes, forums and boards trying to find anyone with a similar issue but no luck thus far.
I have created the issue in Qas as well, by using the same steps to create 588 checks via F110, but only 27 print out?  I tried the "Reprint" option on the F110 screen, and the same 27 checks print out.  (Its the first 27 of the spool that print each time.)
Again, the spool shows all 588 checks with images and all data/tables are updated appropriately.
In OBPM4, we have the box for "Payment Document Validation" checked, and the correct printers assigned.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might trigger this?
Where else should we be looking to find some type of status or error message?
Would it be helpful to run through the process with some type of trace running in the background?

    Thank you for your response.
I wondered about a printer memory issue as well...however, I am not sure how much space an adobe check might take up versus the SapScript check form we used before.
Any suggestions on how to go about verifying this theory?  (Basis should monitor from their side when I start the print program?)  (Is there a report or status I can physically check or create from the printer itself?)

  • Adobe X Printing Issue

    Morning,
After upgrading to Adobe X on all Windows 7 Enterprise systems, we can no longer print PDFs.    The PDFs state they are sent to the printers but nothing ever appears.  We have tried installing new print drivers, disabled advanced features in IE like some tech articles suggested, and have even had one user downgrade back to version 9 to no avail.  Was there a Microsoft patch that was released in the past few months that is causing this issue?   Thanks, Gus

Can nobody help with this request?

  • Adobe X printing issues

I recently updated to Adobe X and have a 24x36 Adobe Document and I cannot get it to print larger than 8-1/2 x 11 on an HP1050c plotter.  I have set the printer paper to 24x36, "no scaling" and selected "Choose paper source by PDF page size" The preview image shows the background as 24x36.  However it only indicates printing to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet in the center of the preview image.  Anyone else run into this?

We have experienced a very similiar problem actually. It is important for us to reproduce drawings at their correct scale, yet when we select a printer to plot to and apply the No Scaling option the preview window doesn't take into consideration the setting I've just tried to apply and ignores the paper size setup for the plotter. The plot preview window just shows what appears to be an A4 window upon a larger format page size.
This is utterly disastrous for us working in an engineering and surveying company wher drawings must be reproduced to scale. As it is we have no confidence in Adobe Reader X right now and immediatly reverted back to 9.4 after a network wide deployment. This utterly sucks Adobe. You have many competing companies biting at your heels for share of the PDF editing and reading market yet you should be setting the gold standard for PDF applications having derived the standard in the first place. The fact you'd finally introduced sand-boxing I thought was going to be a god-send and we can go back to a single PDF application as your security flaws are a disaster waiting to happen - but this bug I'm afraid is just plain embarrasing!!

  • Adobe Reader Print Issue

Every time I print the file converts to word.  New happening, can not figure out how to turn off?

What is your operating system?  Reader version?
Please describe your issue in details; I've never heard of such an issue.  The only way I know to convert a PDF to Word is using Acrobat or the ExportPDF service.

  • Adobe Reader printing issues

I am trying to print a PDF page that was emailed to me and I receive a error message

Since there are literally as many different error messages as there are lines of code in Windows and every piece of software ever created, I'll have to be more blunt.
Just what exactly is the exact complete wording of the error message you see?
Hint: "An error message" is NOT a correct answer to my question.
If anyone here is going to be able to help you, you will need to state the exact ording of the error message, what specific step in the printing process you are at when it occurs, what Operating System you are using, what make and model of printer you are using, and what version (number) of Adobe Reader you are using.

  • Xerox, Win 7, Adobe printing issues

HELP...2 New computers are Windows 7 with CS4 premium on one and CS4 Standard on the other
PROBLEM: None of our Adobe files will print correctly to our 2 Xerox printers (7750 and 6350). Even though page layout is correct the documents are printing extremely reduced. We have downloaded and installed the Windows 7 Drivers from Xerox -- but this did not correct the problem. Also it is only the Adobe products (All) that don't print correctly. Big problem for a small design firm.

PLEASE!!!! Is there anyone I can talk to about our problem with CS4, Windows 7 & and Xerox print issues. The Adobe software is the only one that seems to have a problem printing and since replacing our Xerox printers (7750, 6350) is not currently an option,  I need a resolution.
We are a small design firm and I have 4 licenses for CS4.  We generally upgrade every other version -- which means we would be investing in CS6 when it is released. I know we are small potatoes in the Adobe world, but this is business and I can't imagine (just looking at all of the threads online), that someone is not working to find a fix for this.
We have downloaded and installed the latest Win7 drivers for both printers. This did not resolve the issue.
HELP -- This is very frustrating. Right now we are saving everything as JPEG files to print -- not a good solution for a graphic design firm.

  • Adobe Reader 10 & 11 Printer Issues

Printing double sided and with staples doesn't work with adobe reader.
I print 2 copies double sided with staples, without collationIt prints 2 copies, but staples pages 1 together, 2 together, 3 together. It won't stable pages 1,2,3 together as one document
I print 2 copies double sided with staples with collationIt prints 2 copies in the right order, but it only uses 1 staple to staple all of the documents together.
I can print double sided with staples on word and it comes out correct. So this issue is isolated with only Adobe Reader.
One fix I see people doing, is reverting back to adobe reader 9. But adobe no longer has adobe reader 9 available for download.
Did anyone find a fix to this? I see a lot of unanswered forum questions about this. I even called adobe about this issue, but they refused to answer the question.

    Hi Jonthegiant,
Issue mentioned in steps 2 is know issue.
I would suggest you may send the other scenarios using this link: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en

  • Adobe printing issues

We have a situation in which we need our adobe program to default to a different printer than the windows default printer.
    Example:
We have a dot matrix printer set as windows default printer. We have to keep this as the default printer because we use a program called ADP and it has to have this printer as a default to work.
We also have a color laser printer that we print with one of our websites that uses adobe. The website automatically prints to which ever printer is selected in adobe. We do not get an option to change it. So it always prints to the dot matrix printer.
We have found a trick in which we can open adobe, print to the color laser printer, and go to the website and print and it will go to the color printer, but we have to do this all the time.
Is there a registry entry or something in which we can change the default printer in adobe? I have read about something with adobe remembering the last printer used but I think it is in version 8 or higher.
Unfortunately, we current have to use version 7 due to some incompatibility with a website we work with.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Adobe Reader X printing issue

    Hi there,
since we implemented Adobe Reader X in our testing invironment, we habe a printing issue with some of our printers.
In our main network we use Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and with that version therer are no problems with any printer.
Even if a document was printed by a user as more than 1 example, on some printers Adobe Reader prepares the document the many times the user wants to print it. E.g. the user wants to print it out 5 times, Adobe Reader prepares it 5 times for the printer, then it would be printed out.
This is a major problem if a user wants to print out documents with more than 20 pages more than 50 times...
This problem first appear with Version X of Adobe Reader and I didn't find anything about that.
Can anybody help us with that. If more information is regarded, I would to my best to publish...
    Regards

  • Known issues with the Adobe CreatePDF Printer

    Hi, everyone.
Hopefully if you're a subscriber to the CreatePDF service, you've discovered an incredible feature called the Adobe CreatePDF Printer. It allows you to convert ANY printable file type to PDF. You can learn more about it here. Instructions on how to set up the printer are here. It's available on Windows only.
However, I did want to highlight that there are a couple of known issues with the CreatePDF Printer which we have work-arounds for.
If you're having issues installing the CreatePDF Printer, please read this article: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/904/cpsid_90492.html
If you've installed the CreatePDF Printer but the printer is not working (on Windows 7 SP1), please read this article: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/901/cpsid_90130.html
Finally, if your CreatePDF Printer is appearing as "offline" in your printer list, please try this work-around: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4183649#4183649
If you encounter any additional issues with the CreatePDF Printer, please don't hesitate to let us know via this forum.
    Thanks, and happy PDF-ing.
    Dave, Adobe

Vertically installed super slim DVD drives are not as reliable as a plain desktop burner. I've had one fail in two of three iMacs and have always had an external which I use most of the time. Other than that, the brand new iMacs do not have a Super Drive, so if that is what you are inquiring about, the point is moot. You need to buy an external anyway. As far as speed, I have never used a burner at high speed - unless you have a professional model, you can easily get burn errors when burning at a fast speed; sometimes consumer models do well burning with high speeds , other times not.

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.2 Printing Issues - Fix don't work

I believe fixes was made in Reader 10.1.5+ to address protected mode in Citrix.
Can you give that a try?
If you are using Citrix Provisioning Services or SCCM/SMS to deploy out versions, every version of Reader/Acrobat in the farm should be uniformally deployed.  You can see the verison in the "Help" menu... "About..."
If you are using PDF through browser, you can still bring up the preferences via "Control K" when the PDF is viewed in browser context.
