Adobe 9, multimedia used and size

A question before I purchase Adobe 9.
I'm interested in the ability to put audio and video in a .pdf.
The question is, will it be too large to email to customers?
Currently, most .pdfs I convert are about 1MB or a little larger. Those email just fine and my customers don't have problems opening them.
If I go to Adobe 9 and insert video or audio, how much larger will the file be and will it hinder me from being able to email it? Or will those documents only be useful when viewed from a website?

I'm saying ALL PDF's. It's not specific to version or content. What happens in a nutshell is, some folks have email clients that compress the files for faster transfer and lower bandwidth use (AOL used to be the biggest offender). When they get decompressed at the other end, it doesn't do it properly hence corruption of the PDF. There's an entire FAQ about this. That is why it is recommended to post the PDF and email the link for access to it.

The installer file "should" be on your desktop.

I'm am using Adobe's Spry Slide Show. I can only use one size photo 640x480px for both the large photo and the thumbnail.
I changed the size of the small thumnail on the html:

The thumbnail looks fine until you hit Live View or Preview in Browser then photo comes in full size and you can only see the upper left hand corner.
I assume that the java is doing this. But I have no training in Java.
How can I change the Java Code so the thumbnail comes in at 63x47px?

You're shooting yourself in the foot with this. It's overriding your HTML and CSS values.
As an FYI, Adobe Abandoned the Spry framework late last year.

What format and size must I use for uploading photos in Creative Cloud?

I don't know what format (TIF, JPG etc.) and size to use for uploading photos into the cloud.

There are no restrictions on the file types you can store in Creative Cloud. However, you’ll be unable to share some file types, such as audio, video, fonts, executable, and application extensions. Sharing of these files is restricted for copyright and security reasons.

Adobe 9.1.3 and FireFox 3.5.1+ "...can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser"

This is the issue but I'm not sure there is a resolution:
Firefox: Version 3.5.1
Adobe: Version 9.1.3
When navigating the web, click a URL that opens a PDF inside the browser and you get an error * "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is
running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser". Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again". I did read a post that doing a "repair" from the Adobe Reader application should fix this, they also reference a few registry keys to check becuase the post states it's lost the application path to Adobe version X. I don't necessarily buy that "fix" and here are my details below.
In FireFox if you navigate to Tools > Options > Applications > Adobe Acrobat Document
You're given choices:
Always ask: DOES NOT WORK, produces afore mentioned error *
Save File: Works, saves the file to a directory on your PC
Use Adobe Reader 9.1 (defau...: Works, opens your PDF's outside of your web browser
Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox): DOES NOT WORK, produces afore mentioned error *
Use other...:
IE seems to just work as expected.
If you open Adobe Reader > Edit > Preferences > Internet > Check "Display PDF in browser" - DOES NOT WORK, produces afore mentioned error *
This would seem to be an Adobe error rather than a FireFox web browser problems since FireFox does seem to know the correct path although I suppose you can't rule out that this is a FireFox problem since 2 out of the 4 PDF open options DON'T WORK.
Any thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Other information:
Adobe 8.1.5 works perfectly with FF 3.5.1+ when opening PDF's in the web browser, we also had no problems with previous versions either.
MSI push via Active Directory from Adobe 8.1.5 upgrade to Licensed Distribution I signed up for, Adobe 9.1.3 which was upgraded from 9.1.0, to 9.1.2, to 9.1.3 via an MSP patch.
Operating system: Windows XP SP 2, plenty of RAM, plenty of Drive
IE version this works with the new version of Adobe 9.1.3 is version 7 (7.0.5730.13)
Our FireFox MSI's come from Front Motions website and as far as I know we've never had problems with their MSI's, also tried the new release of FF 3.5.2 from their website.
I think that about covers it. Anyone else experiencing the same problems or have a patch?

After troublshooting this for the entire day today the issue seems to be a MIME problem.
If everything is woking perfectly, in Tools > Options > Applications...
You should see 4 or more things related to Adobe like "Adobe Acrobat Forms Document", etc. If you don't see at least 4 MIME entries either your Adobe installation is hosed or your FF installation is hosed. I haven't figured out which is causing the issue.
What I did was remaster my patches from my original Adobe 9.1.0 MSI with the two updates via the command line in the directories with the source files. On the 9.1.0 original file I first remastered my MST transform with the Adobe MST utility. I then applied my patches.

msiexec /a AcroRead.msi /p AdbeRdrUpd913_all_incr.msp
I then uploaded that to my network share, unlinked my group policy, made a new group policy, added a batch file to delete adobe.com from program file and the desktop on system startup even though my MST was supposed to take care of that - it's not a perfect world is it? :-)
I then reapplied my GPO's for both FireFox 3.5.2 and Adobe 9.1.3, I checked to make sure the MIME extensions were there and they were. You might have to go into your Adobe Preferences and select that open in browser setting depending on what happens or adjust your MIME settings in FireFox's options but it should work.
That's what worked for me. It's possible a few other things I did along the way tweaked it out, in my group policy on the first run I did select to upgrade previous group policies, for the remaster and repush I didn't select any previous GPO's to upgrade.
It's hard to tell what one thing tweaked it out or what combination of things tweaked out the install. I did also reinstall Adobe 8.1.5 and FF 3.0.10 before doing all this since our machines currently have that setup, I'm not sure if that affected it either, it's just hard to tell but I don't think it did simply because I had done that several times in troubleshooting this issue.
If anyone else has more specifics that would be great!

I have lost the ability to change fonts,use color and size and when I try to write anyone,I cannot see my mailing list and there is no send button.

A few months ago my ability to use different fonts, colors and sizes suddenly disappeared. These choices were always available when looking at my email and I used them regularly . No one I asked ever heard of such a thing happening. I left it alone until I found someone to help. Then, a few days ago, when I clicked "write" , two things happened. First, I could not forward, reply or even see my collected email addresses. Second, there was no longer a place that said "send". My email page filled the entire screen and when I scaled it down, there was still no way to see my list or to send. I am a novice when it comes to fixes and terms but, I have asked people who have some experience with PC's they were stumped. I contacted Fairpoint and they said it must be a Thunderbird problem. Most of the people I asked said they didn't know Thunderbird. One suggested that I reinstall T.bird but, said I also might lose everything on my PC. I would appreciate any help you can give. What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Did you have the opportunity to update 12 to 12.1 Update yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Update? If not, please do so when you get the opportunity.

In Aperture 3.4, does anyone know if you can change the units used for size and position in layout editor? The page is set in inches, but the image size and position are given in centimetres and I would prefer to work all in inches to create custom layouts. I can't see any way to change this. If anyone knows how it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Aperture uses the unit settings defined in the System Preferences. Set the "Measurement Units" in the "Region" tab of the "Language & Text" preferences to "US"; the Aperture will display the Size & Position in inches, if it is the "Book" layout manager you are asking about.

There is no application called "Adobe" - you are either working with Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader. Open up the preferences for the application (Edit>Preferences), then go to the "General" category and modify the settings for "Scale for screen resolution". You will have to restart the application after you do that. Does that fix your problems?

If you have Pages you can create customs pages for your book as TD suggested. If you have Pages from iWork 09 or 11 this app will add 80 or so additional frames to those offered: Frames and Strokes Installer. Don't use it on the latest Pages version, however.
This tutorial shows how to create a custom page with the theme's background: iP11 - Creating a Custom Page, with the Theme's Background for an iPhoto Book. Once the page is complete to get it into iPhoto as a jpeg file follow these steps:
Here's how to get any file into iPhoto as a jpeg file:
1 - open the file in any application that will open it.
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3 - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
NOTE: If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 300 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.

I am Shanmugavel, SharePoint developer,
I am facing the below SharePoint 2013 deployment issue while deploying using VS2012.
If i will deploy the same wsp or existing wsp
(last build) using direct powershell deployment, the solution adding properly, but the same timeout exception coming while activation the features. Please find the below error.
I tried the below activists:
1. Restarted my dev server, DB server.
2. tried the same solution id different server
3. tried existing wsp file (last build version)
4. Deactivated all the features, including project Active deployment configuration.... but still i am facing the same issue.
I hope this is not coding level issue, because still my code is not start running, before that some problem coming.
Please help me any one..... Last two days i am struck because of this...

What you need to understand is the installation of a WSP does not do much. It just makes sure that you relevant solution files are deployed to the SharePoint farm.
Next comes the point when you activate the features. It is when the code which you have written to "Activate" certain features for your custom solution.
Regarding the error you are getting, it typically means that you have more connections (default is I guess 100) open for a SQL database then you are allowed to.
If you have a custom database and you are opening a connection, make sure you close it as well.
Look at the similar discussion here:
