Adobe 9 Reader Print help

How can I print the full text fields?  I completed an application and right now all that prints is the text that fits the text field box and the text field overflow indicator (black box with white plus sign).  Any help is appreciated!

This has helped me:
Close all instances of Internet Explorer
Start Adobe Reader
Go to the "Help" menu and click "Repair Adobe Reader"
Try again and see if the problem is still there.
I experienced the problem when upgrading Internet Explorer from 9 to 11.

  • Adobe Reader Printing Problem

I have a PC with Windows XP SP3. When I try to print a PDF document, I get the following message: "The document could not be printed. There were no pages selected to print." Of course, I had selected the pages to print.
Recently, I had many problems with Adobe Reader 10, so I removed it and reloaded Adobe 9. Today, when this printing problem appeared, I did a restore on my computer, taking it back a few months. I still have the printing problem.
Any idea what's wrong? Any idea how to fix it?

I have Acrobat Pro 9, but the feature I am using is listed under my
    printers.
If I go to Print, then in the drop-down list of printers, I have PDF -
which essentially creates a new PDF document.  I don't really understand
why it worked, but it did.  The Print - PDF is also available to Word,
    Publisher, etc.
    Hope tis works.

  • Adobe Reader X Help internet link

Hi, could anyone let me know how to fix the problem in Adobe Reader X when you click Help from the menu bar followed by Adobe Reader X Help.  Instead of taking you to an Adobe help page via a web browser, you get the error; "Online Help content cannot be displayed.  Verify you can launch your web browser and have access to the Internet" message.
I have uninstalled X and installed Adobe Reader 9 and this works fine and connects to the web.  I have read the link from vilcanator back in Jan 2011 which the reply takes you to
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/reader/using/reader_X_help.pdf which is for a local saved copy of the help file.
However, surely the online help link should work otherwise updates to the help document will not be updated on the downloaded pdf copy.  This has been tested on XPSP3 and W7 Prof, and in IE8 and 9.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Debs

    Hi
F1 brings up the exact same message for me, "Online Help content cannot be displayed.  Verify you can launch your web browser and have access to the Internet".  The message appears within Adobe Reader X.  It doesn't reach the browser at all.
When I click Help from the menu bar followed by Adobe Reader X Help, it will take around 5 seconds to have a think, and then show the message.  I've used the setup assistant to set to default and no change.  In Preferences, the Web browser Options for the Internet are all ticked,
    Thanks

    IE 8/Mozilla Firefox 3.6.13

Reader X does not ship with a help function other than Internet-based help.  There is a downloadable "help" PDF for reader X that can be referenced, but it is not accessed with the F1-Help function.  Maybe they will fix this some day.

  • Adobe Reader - Print Dialoge box is usable

Yesterday I was running Reader ver. 10.1.3 on a Windows 2008 x64 Terminal Server.  All users Adobe Reader print dialoge boxes now open up very very large.  Any visible font is perhpas 10" tall (see screenshots below).  Drop down pick lists don't display text, and neither does any of the buttons (see screenshots below).  As long as you just want a standard print, you can press enter to activate the defaulted print button.  You can press the ESC key to exit the print dialoge form.  Printing is all being done to Networked printers and I get the same screen no matter what printer is set to be the default printer.
Sometimes (rarely) the print dialoge box will display normal size, and it will display the page your going to print, but as per above, there is no text on the buttons or drop down boxes.  The sample screenshot below took up my entire 1920x1080 screen and is just a small portion of the dialoge box size.  I have to scroll around three screen lengths to get to the other side of the dialoge box. There is no verticle scroll bars, so I can't scroll down to the bootom of the dialoge box.  Nor are there any window resize options (see last screenshot below)
Here is a closeup shot of the top LH side of the Dialoge box:
Below is a screenshot of the top RH corner (I had to scroll three window lengths to get to it):
The Word and Excel etc. Print Dialoge boxes are all working ok.  I have tested different default printers with the Reader Print Dialoge box window and get the same looking screen.
The first thing I tried was to just reboot the Terminal Server (TS).  I was supprised to find that I had the same problem.  I tried upgrading to 10.1.4  and rebooted the TS.  I still have the same problem.  I see that someone else has sort of had a similar issue to mine:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/4559861 But don't really see a response on how or if it was resolved.
Anyone have an idea of whats going wrong and how to fix this?
    Thanks.

As mentioned above, every now and then people will see a normal sized dialoge box.  Here are two examples:

  • Adobe reader printing problems

    Hi all,
I have created a word document, and converted it to .pdf using Cute PDF writer. When I open the document in Adobe reader 7/8 I can see the document fine and clear with all fonts and images as they should be.
The problem is when I try to print the document. When I print from Adobe 8, the font (Gill Sans MT to be specific) doesn't print correctly. Instead of getting a word with one letter after the other, all letters of that word are printing on top of each other if you get me. This can happen anywhere on the page.
However, if I open the document in Adobe reader 7 - the document prints correctly. No problems. I have tried this on a number of machines so I can safely say its not a problem with the install of the software on any of the machines. It just seems to be an incompatibility with the Adobe reader 8 software.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening or how I can get around this on Adobe reader 8?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Mo

a bug most likely. I can only see a couple of options for you. Don't use Reader 8, use a different PDF creator, or try to tweak the settings in in Cute PDF to make it embed and encode the fonts so that Reader 8 can print successfully.

  • Adobe Reader prints incorrectly, OSX Preview prints correctly?!

I was wondering if anyone could help us out with some insights into a problem which occurred recently when printing some large, combined PDFs, some of which ran to several hundreds of pages in length.
The PDFs were combined from three main sources:
PDFs we’d produced ourselves from InDesign 5.5 to “Pass4Press” / PDF 1.4 specifications.
PDFs saved from Microsoft Word 2010 using the “Save as PDF” command.
PDFs supplied by the client - I suspect these were produced either from Microsoft Word or via the “Save as PDF” command on a printer/scanner.
We used an up-to-date postscript driver and printed to something like a Canon 7100 printer using Adobe/Acrobat Reader. The stuff we printed from InDesign was fine (as I expected it to be, this is the spec I send my PDFs to commercial printers with and I’ve never had a problem with it). Sometimes the text from the Word-generated ones would print as a series of boxes and other times the same file would print correctly with no problems (the font used was either Arial or Arial Narrow), whilst the ones from the client would always print incorrectly in places as a series of symbols. I don’t know what font they used (or how it was embedded) but it looked like Arial and the files came from France (we were printing in England) so maybe their font glyphs are different?
Opening up a couple of the files in Illustrator revealed no problems with the font. We could print from Adobe Reader using a slower, rasterized driver (which was sooooooo slow we would have missed the deadline) but the funny thing was if we opened the same files using Mac OSX 10.6’s “Preview” programme and printed via the wickedly-fast postscript driver, everything came out perfectly!
I know that I haven’t provided much in the way of specific, detailed information but would anyone have a general idea of what was going on? I suspect that it was something to do with the fonts not being embedded properly and Preview being more tolerant of this issue than Reader? That said, Adobe Reader is meant to be the blue-ribband application for PDF viewing and printing so presumably it should be more versatile than a scaled-down imitation product which comes free with every Mac? Would anyone be able to suggest a way of heading this off at the pass in the future? Please bear in mind that some of the files were supplied to us by our client, an engineering firm who would see supplying correctly-formatted PDFs as a non-issue, they just hand over whatever comes out of the machine, so ensuring that the PDFs have been encoded correctly at source is not really an option that’s open to us in this case.
As always, thanks in advance for any and all advice offered.

Just as a further note to this, something along similar lines has just happened.
A work collegue printed the PDF located at:
    http://marketforce.eu.com/Conferences/nuclearnewbuild12/Brochure/
The text printed largely as a series of "y"s and full stops (periods). I printed the same file to a different machine (same make and model) from both Preview on the Mac and Reader 8 on a Windows XP PC and the result was perfect both times!
Would anyone have any general tips on how to troubleshoot PDFs so we can spot in advance if things like this might happen and also can anyone shed any light on if these kind of problems can sometimes be caused by a printer and/or its driver rather than the PDF itself? I looked at the Preflight options in Acrobat for the first time ever this morning and the range of options contained within seemed a little overwhelming for a newcomer.
    Cheers,
    NA

  • Why won't adobe reader print a .pdf?

I have worked on this Mac at my job for 3 years. Much of my job is online research, and I frequently print .pdf documents, or "Open .pdf In Preview" and select pages to print.
About 2 weeks ago I found that .pdfs would no longer print or Open In Preview.  I can still Select the content and copy it to a Word doc and repair the formatting for printing.
But I would really like to just print the .pdf.
How to find out what's wrong?  How to fix it?
I have already re-installed Adobe Reader and downloaded the latest version.
    Thank you for any help.
    Shayne

    Hi Shayne Laughter,
Adobe Reader is for reliably viewing, printing, and annotating PDF documents. It’s the only PDF file viewer that can open and interact with all types of PDF content, including forms and multimedia, hence we cannot print documents to PDF using this.
Also, Preview is a default application in Mac used to view and edit images and PDFs. If you are not able to print documents to PDF then the issue is with Preview and I would suggest you to check with Apple.
