Adobe 9 Stnd irregular spacing

Hello,
I've got Adobe Standard 9 (9.1.4) running on Windows XP. When editing a document and adding/removing a word the spacing goes wrong, for example:
"I would really like to see you" --> "I woul d like t o see you"
I've attempted to update to 9.2.0 but this update claims to have downloaded multiple times, each time successful, and downloads again.
Any advice appreciated.

The only practical way to add them is to just add the pages. It sounds like you are trying to edit in Acrobat that is a bear of a problem. It is not an editor and the editing features should only be used as a last resort. You really should get the original documents and combine those, then make a new PDF. Another possibility is to save to WORD, text, or other format, combine the files, then create another PDF. Of course, you may likely lose formating and stuff when you save to WORD. Think of a PDF as a paper document (that kind of final form) and you have the idea. When we used to do this with typing, it meant that a whole page would have to be modified as a minimum.

InDesign6 irregular spacing

I'm using ID6. If I have small caps in Times New Roman in a line of text, the spacing after the small caps is extremely irregular. What's going on? Makes no difference if the spacing is set for Optical or Metrics.

Does the font have REAL small caps or it is being faked?
If it's being faked, there's a million fonts out there and many of them
have real small caps. You should consider using one.

Photoshop graphic button: typed font has irregular spacing

The website looks great except for the buttons. For some
reason, the type is spaced slightly irregularly in spots. Its
happened before, but when the customer pointed it out this time, I
need to fix it. Has anyone else seen this? Suggestions
please.

Irregular spacing between entries on main page (BLOG.html)

Hi--
Why does the spacing between entries on the main BLOG page (blog.html) differ according to how long the entry is?
If the 'header sections' are the same size, why is their appearance on the main blog 'index page' different sizes?
I.e., if the contents of an entry exceed the template size, there is excessive blank space below that entry's header and the previous entry(below)--even if the 'header sections' are the same size.
Is anyone from Apple on these forums???

At last...something I know an answer to...
when you are in iweb and have the blog main page open click on inspector and the the RSS tab.
Select blog from the blog / podcast options and then the number of excerpts to show option is there, the excerpt length option is another great feature.

Adobe connect - bug with powerpoint and the apostrophe

Hi folks,
when i'm using Adobe Connect for web presentations and upload
a Powerpoint file, there seems to be a bug where adobe connect
displays extra spacing after an apostrophe is used. For example
when my .ppt has "country's" but when it's loaded into adobe
connect and shared, it displays, "country' s"
i'm using XP and Powerpoint 2003.

From what I remember, TinyMCE does not work with ADDT form validation. So you can integrate TinyMCE, but you will have this issue if you make the text area a required field with ADDT's form validation.
For a workaround, you can use a custom trigger to check that something was entered into the text area and throw an error in the trigger if nothing has been entered. This won't do the client side check, but it will do a server side check.

Camera Raw Chroma Smearing with Fujifilm X Series

I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 with an up-to-date Camera Raw version 7.3 to process raw files from my Fujifilm X-E1. As widely reported, ACR introduces obvious chroma smearing into the images that other software (SilkyPix, in-camera processing, iOS PhotoRaw) have no problems with. The workflow for PS CS6 is great, but ACR's buggy demosaicing algorithm continues to be a real problem with the latest version of ACR. Aside from using SilkyPix or other, does anyone know of any near term fixes for this problem until Adobe gets their act together on demosaicing Fuji's X-Trans sensor?
Our eyeballs all have rods and cones that are irregularly spaced and sparse, and we all can see just fine without a Bayer array in our eyeballs, so there's no fundamental reason why Adobe won't be able to fix this issue with X-Trans demosaicing. I just hope they get on the case with a fix for the next version of ACR.
Here's an example that anyone can recreate: ACR's chroma smearing is especially a problem for any text that appears in the image. The numbers on the boats below show chroma smearing when processed using ACR, but not with SilkyPix or other software. It's also possible to see the same problem using dpreview's studio comparison tool. The lens is a 35 mm f1.4 so this smearing at the image center certainly isn't any chromatic abberation from the lens.

X-Axis in Line Graph

I have yet to figure out how to define a data range to use as my x-axis in a line plot. Sure, I could use an XY scatter (that can't have lines) but what if I have 4 Y variables? There is obviously something missing since, if you display the x category labels in the line graph, you get "untitles 1" etc.
Bug or missing feature?

From what I have found through trial and error, for a line graph, the column you want to be the titles on the X-axis has to be formatted as "text" when you highlight the data to plot. If it is a numeric value, Numbers will treat that column/row as a second series of data rather than X axis labels. Same goes for bar charts. Unfortunately it assumes the data is uniformly distributed so if you want lines connecting points on data with irregularly spaced x-values this sort of chart doesn't seem to be appropriate.
I think they really need to add that functionality to the scatter plots as well.

Which shows that both tags are being ignored: There is output
outside the cfoutput tag AND the irregular spacing shows that
whitespace is not being suppressed.
As stated, when I try simpler examples, it works and the
documentation says that a "yes" in either tag overrides any number
of previous "no"s!

Everything you are saying is exactly correct. That is why I
suspect the "tag library" answer is unfortunately the correct one.
Both the cfsetting and cfprocessing directive tags are defined such
that a "yes" overrides any number of previous "no"s! Thus, as far
as those directives are concerned, no outside state would (should)
impact them, by definition! In fact they are defined such that for
"ENABLECFOUTPUTONLY='yes'", the only thing that would permit output
is being contained inside "cfoutput" tags, (either inside or
outside the scope of the cfsetting tags, doesn't matter which).
Given the display of #i# instead of a number, no cfoutput tags are
operational, so no display should exist.
Thus the only thing that makes sense is PaulH's statement
that the tags are defined not to work inside tag libraries.
A] If they DO work inside a tag library (which I will test
when I get back to my office in a few days), then there is nothing
that is documented that states that the code I presented should not
work regardless of what is "surrounding" it! The bug is either
there or the external scope that overrides the tags isn't
documented!
B] If they DON'T work inside a tag library as PaulH states,
then I need to know how to reference a single piece of code from
almost 300 different domains without using a tag library!
(And, completely unrelated to this entire conversation, if
is true, then I personally believe that such behavior is a bug
that was documented as how it works instead of fixing it: I can't
see why putting code into a tag library and thus breaking it would
be considered "ok"-- but that's just me.)
If It does work in the tag library I will continue to try to
reproduce the problem so that it can be written up wither as a bug
or as documentation as to what undocumented external circumstances
prevent a simple cfloop from behaving properly inside the two
tags.

Date Axis in Charts

I've seen the thread that says Numbers does not support a chart with a date axis. That is, a chart derived from a table that has a date column with dates irregularly spaced in time.
For example, here's a table of visits to a supermarket and the price of Wheaties on each visit:

8/14/90 $3.60
9/2/92 $4.30
6/4/94 $4.00
Right now, if you turn this into a chart, you get a graph with each data point paced equally apart. Useless. What you want is a chart with an x-axis that's a date range, with each data point plotted at the appropriate point along that range.
I'm surprised that Apple doesn't support this feature. So, two questions.
1. Anyone know if this is in the pipeline for the next version of Numbers? I'm ready to chuck Excel, but this is a show-stopper for me. Can't switch without this feature. Anyone know when the next version is due?
2. Anyone know any reasonable workarounds?

To be back to the app itself, it appears that the choices ruling dates are not perfectly consistent.
For some aspects they looks like strings, for others, they look like numbers.
I was acustomed to dates being a number displaid as a dateString.
For instance, if a cell contains 37995 in an AW spreadsheet, when I give it the date format, it is displaid as: 10/01/2008 (I am using a French system).
In Numbers it's not exactly that and I can't get it displaying 37995 as a date.
In fact I knows, but it requires an AppleScript.
If someone found a way to do that with Numbers's functions, I am interested.

Datapoints appearing along the X axis instead of Time

So I currently have a setup with an Agilent O-Scope hooked up to my computer, using an arbitrary Waveform Generator to send the signals. What I am trying to do is get a graph to show the waveforms (4), on my computer. The 4 waveforms show up fine on the OScope screen, but I was wondering how do I switch the actual scale in labview.
Right now, the X axis says "Time," but if I change the number of datapoints to receive, the x scale changes to that number. Is their some way to make Labview receive the information and convert datapoints to time in say microseconds, or do I have to go to Agilent and ask them instead?

You are giving insufficient information. Are you using a chart of a graph?
Charts and graphs assume equal time spacing in x, and the linear relation between the data index and the actual time is configured from the offset and increment setting of the x-axis. For example, if the spacing between adjacent points is 1 microsecond, set the increment (dx) to that value.
If the points are irregularly spaced in x, you need an xy graph instead. See how far you get.

Android Razor~Premiere Elements 11~Youtube

I have the Andriod Razor (Filmed in HD+1080p) and the video and audio looks great in Adobe premiere elements11 and on my camera, but when I convert it to either Adobe Flash or Quick time to upload on to Youtube or Facebook from Adobe Premiere elements 11 I have problems....
Both the audio and video on Adobe Flash becomes irregular and at time unaudiable and when converting to Quiktime the video losses it's sharpness and clarity.
My quest is to find the the best program, procedure and all of the compatible presettings to use for going from the Android Razor to Adobe Premiere elements to Youtube or Facebook?

First, go to the Edit menu and make sure the Project Settings for your Premiere Elements project match your video specs (1080p).
Then use Publish & Share/Computer/AVCHD with the YouTube HD preset to output yoru video. Should give you excellent results on YouTube and Facebook.

I assume you mean saving a PDF to a PPT from Acrobat (Adobe is the company, not the product). What spacing are you talking about? You generally have two choices of the export process, to retain flow and to retain format -- though I have not looked at the PPT export recently. I am not sure what you are asking. If you could post a screen capture and explain, it would help.

Adobe Form, Line Spacing of Paragraphs

Dear colleagues.
I have an Adobe Form (created by transaction SFP in
an ERP 6.0 system, using Adobe LifeCycle Designer 7.1).
This form contains a simple table to display some text in the form.
The table has just one column for strings (type Text field, field
format Plain Text only, value type Read Only).
It works fine. However I would like to reduce the spacing of the text
lines in the table.
Would you please tell me how this can be done?
(I tried the following, but it was NOT successful: I opened palette
"Paragraph". Under "Spacing", the value of "Above:" and "Below:" was
already 0pt. So I changed the option of "Line Spacing:" from "Single"
to "Exactly" and assigned to "At:" a smaller value, e.g. 5pt.
Then I tested my modified form, and I was very surprised: The
spacing of the text lines did not change, but the width of the text
lines was reduced! All letters were truncated: The above and below
part of the letters disappear suddenly.)
Would you please give me some hint?

could you please clarify that you have a table with one column and in each row you have some multi line text and you would like to reduce the distance between the lines or you have one line per row and wish to reduce the distance between the text in each row?

Text spacing issues Adobe Captivate 8

Hi all,
I've already taken this to the adobe help chat and they haven't been able to help me.
I recently updated to Adobe Captivate 8.0.1.242 and it has caused me no end of trouble with spacing.
Basically if I have a text caption with multiple font sizes it causes in a responsive project the spacing to go haywire. Meaning the preview and the published output looks entirely different, the spacing looks to be around 2 or 3 (rather than 1.5) which crops off big chunks of text.
If I roll back to the previous version of the programme, I do not get the same issues.
Any suggestions?
