Adobe ACA Certification preperation book an CD

I have recently purchased Adobe creative suite 5 and am looking to study for the ACA certification, in which I have recently bought a book with the title of Adobe Creative Suite 5 ACA Certification Prep Basics by Debbie Keller, Within this book it says that there is a CD rom disk to accompany the textbook. Does anyone have this book and if so would you know where to get the CD rom disk from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

No, I'm not aware of any solution to the problem of wanting to be certified... you're on your own with that one. I might be able to get you to think about it a bit more clearly, though...

Can you tell me precisely what that would prove? Who do you honestly think that it would impress? When I was employing people, it wouldn't have made a scrap of difference to my opinion of somebody or their abilities at all - in fact when it comes to the use of software like that, I'd be rather more impressed with somebody who could keep his or her head outside it, as much as anything. Which means that what I'd have been looking for was somebody who had a much wider appreciation of the situation that software was being used in, rather than just in the software itself. Because just having a bit of paper that says you can do just one thing - and not issued by an impartial, competent awarding authority - would ring all sorts of warning bells.
So if you want a qualification that might actually mean something, then don't get it from a software manufacturer, and don't get it in a single narrow subject.

Problem Playing AVI Files From Adobe Classroom In A Book

Hiya,
I just bought the Adobe Classroom In A Book for Premiere Pro CS4. However, when I try to run Lesson 1, Premiere Pro appears to be having a cow with the AVI file needed for the project. It tells me that the codec is missing or unavailable. I'm using a MacBook Pro on Leopard and, according to the updater agent, I'm up-to-date. Has anyone tried this book? And run into problems? Any solutions to offer me? This is driving me bonkers!

Hm-m, the DV-Type II's *should* play fine in QT. At least they do with QT on my PC. Adobe is usually pretty good at getting their CiaB assets X-platform. Wonder what's going on here. I think that this is the third thread on CiaB assets not playing on a Mac. Odd indeed, and probably just a "mess up" on someone at Adobe Press.
Had similar with a Painter 3.0 book, years ago. The author had to send me 11 CD's before we found one that had the PC files on it. All the rest were Mac-only and she was really pissed at her publishing house. However, she hung in there, and we got it sorted out.

I am working with ADOBE "Classroom in a Book," with a supplied DVD. I have downloaded all the lessons, and in Lesson 5 I am able to find only (05A) but not 05B, 05C, 05D, and 05E. My disc seems not to have those...only 05A. I need your help?.

It sounds like the folder you are saving to does not have the proper permission for you to write to it. What OS are you using?

I fould a hack that makes the sites think you have the latest (Intel) version of Flash installed. So I installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari. Here's the info.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

I use adobe audition 3.0 everyday, been working with audio since I was 13. Now I want to be certified with it. Is there a solution to this?
Because it seems unfair that adobe offers certification for other programs why not audition?
Every Adobe product should have an examination cd where if the user passes it can certify them with a document or print-out at the end.

In india for SAP CERTIFICATION in SD,
there are SEIMENS, JKT SAP SOLUTION ACADEMY, GENOVATE etc...... to name a few.
if you want to read all those stuff which you have mentioned well and good.
but SAP cerification is meant for BASICS only being in SAP SD in SUPPORT project for 3 years why now you want to go for certification.
ok, its your wish.
then go ahead and read those documents as you mentioned above in your query,
please check with them if any online courses are there or not it will cost you less than class room training course.

As a very new user to the Creative Cloud, does Adobe have an e-book creator available from Creative Cloud? I am a technical writer/editor with numerous articles I have authored, for publication as e-books/e-articles.

Using Adobe CS2 with mc book pro intel duo core 2,16 .17"

As a designer working on high definition heavy graphic files intended for digital printing, i am about to go for mc book pro 2,16 duo core and 2gb ram.
I need to use CS2 (photoshop, illustrator) and know that it is not a native soft version, so not otimized for this processor. Any how, I just cannot wait CS3 (Adobe says 2007 whenever they are ready !), so I need advise of professional users of such applications on this mc book pro intel duo core 2,16 17".
I heard pretty scary rumours about such a professional use.
PLEASE HELP BEFORE I GO FOR PC/WIN !!!

CS runs beautifully, with really no lag at all. Keep in mind that I haven't gotten to upgrading from 1 GB RAM to 2 yet, since my tablet died and I needed to replace that. I just installed CS2 last week, and there is a lag, and we'll soon see if more memory helps. Everything works fine, no crashes, etc., but there is in my opinion a noticeable difference in loading time, and various other tasks within the apps take longer. Again, CS2 works just fine, but the performance of CS is much better.

Adobe Reader and library books

I am trying to read a borrowed from the library book in Adobe Reader. But I keep getting the message "Adobe Reader could not open URL Link.acsm because it is either not a supported file or has been damaged." What should I do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Adobe Premiere Elements 10 software upgrade / will my Adobe Premiere Elements 9 book work?

I bought a new pc with Adobe premiere elements 9 preinstalled. So I ordered Steve's muvipix 9 book. I had to up grade to the new adobe 10 for stability (64 bit program). Here's my question, Do I need to spend $39.00 on the new version 10 book? Would I be ok with the version 9 muvipix adobe premiere elements book ? Help advise please. Rick

There are a couple of nice new features -- but the version 9 book will get you about 98% of the way there.

Problem with Adobe Classroon in a Book

I have recently purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 11 Classroom in a Book. The videos from Lesson 1 will not transfer into the Organizer. I get a message saying "the selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compression/decompression installed." I can transfer my own videos w/o this problem.

What happens if you transfer these .mov sample files to the computer hard drive (desktop) and then use Premiere Elements 11 Add Media/Files and Folders to import the videos into a new Premiere Elements 11 project? Do you get the same error message that you get when you are trying to get these videos directly into the Elements Organizer?
If you go Premiere Elements first, what you import into Premiere Elements will be automatically copied to the Elements Organizer.
This would be a good troubleshooting step for now. We can decide later how this fits or does not fit into your workflow next.
But, as where Hunt's question is leading, installation of QuickTime (latest version) is a program requirement.

Adobe Classroom in a book file won't open anymore

I have a Framemaker 7 Classroom in a book file that won't open anymore. I purchased in in 2006
and it's worked for years. There is no error message. I keep getting redirected to Adobe Digital Editions website. So I've installed the Adobe Digital Editions software and still no luck. I spent 2 hours on the phone this morning with Adobe support and their final conclusion is they don't support this issue.
Anyone have any ideas? All my other pdf's open with out any trouble. Some of them are ancient.
