Adobe Acrobat 11.0.06 Crashing after scan
Hello
I am facing problems esp when using 'Create -> PDF from Scanner '
I am using Cannon MX472 multifunction printer and after it completes the scans I see the scanned pages for few brief second and then it crashes and I have to do the scan all over again.
I have apple computer with OS X 10.9.2 and also not able to find my printer when I select option ' TWAIN' in
Convert to PDF -> Scan -> Scan Driver but my printer shows up when I select ' image capture ' option.
This is really bugging me a lot as I have to scan many many documents during course of day and its double work for me.
Apart from adobe crashing all my scanned documents are coming out as grey when canned even when I select image adjustment to document.
Please advise how to fix this problem.
Thanks
Vishal
I tried these steps and it did not fix the problem I am having:
> Remove any other instances of Acrobat if installed on the machine like previous version Acrobat 9/X Pro . (Since it may conflict the application.)
> Make sure Acrobat is Updated till 11.0.06
> Launch the Acrobat XI Pro
> Go to Acrobat Icon on Finder and then Select the Preferences Option.
> Under Categories : Go to Accessibility : And then under "Other Accessibility Options" -
Deselect the check box which says - "Enable assistive technology support"
I do not have these options:
> Also under categories go to > Convert to Pdf > Used TWAIN first > Hit ok > Then close the Acrobat XI Pro and then relaunch the acrobat.
> Again go to Preferences and under categories go to > Convert to Pdf then select the Image Capture and then hit Ok button.
> Close acrobat and then relaunch it and see if it Helps you while you do scanning.
> Would recommend you to check to Scan the pdf when the scanner is connected through wire.

C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txtHey Zia,
Please check whether the scanner works fine with other applications or not.
On your Windows machine, please navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat" and move ACE.dll file to desktop.
Now, repair Adobe Acrobat from Control Panel and then try scanning PDF files.
If the issue still persists, then you might need to update your scanner drivers and then check.
Let me know if this helps.

Adobe acrobat pro 9.2 crashes in windows xp sp3 when closing a pdf
Adobe acrobat pro 9.2 crashes in windows xp sp3 when I close a pdf. This means that if I have multiple files open, all of them close. I get an error message from windows that the problem is due to windows' Data Execution Prevention (DEP). I tried making Adobe an exception to windows' DEP and re-started the computer but this did not help the problem. Any ideas about how to fix this problem?
So.. If we want to control the "hardware graphics acceleration", should it be done inside the Adobe Acrobat Pro ?
If yes, which part of option should we changed ?
If not, can someone tell me which way to setting this one ?
Do anybody have other input ? This problem makes me crazy
Thank you so much in advanced. -
My Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard stopped working after I performed an msconfig. I get the following message: "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling this product..." I installed this on Jan. 7, 2010 and I have since misplaced the disk.
How do I fix the problem?Hi Ali,
You can download Acrobat 9 Std. from: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/8d640488-4a92-4f7d-b50b-d8eb7f96bff8
and reinstall the software.

Adobe Acrobat X Standard quits unexpectedly after 7-10 seconds
Adobe Acrobat X Standard quits unexpectedly after 7-10 seconds. I've tried updating and uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I can create pdf's but can't view them fpr more than 7 seconds. Also the check for updates under the help command reads "updates have been disabled by your system policy" Please advise. I've also noticed after opening the task manager and under processes the acrobat program uses a small amount of memory at first then increases to 60mb and ccloses even with no files open.
I was having issue with "Acrobat quit unexpectedly" when the application was launching. But the problem was solved after I reinstall acrobat using a new admin account.
Today the problem re-surfaced. I could launch Acrobat but it would give me "Acrobat quit unexpectedly" after 5-10 sec.
My acrobat has been patched to v10.1.8. -
Adobe reader 10 and 11 crashes after 3-5 sec.
adobe reader 10 and 11 crashes after 3-5 sec. it newer gets fully opened, it just closes. the problem is all my pdf files on my computer. and they work fine on my other labtop. tryed to repair, remove, install many times
Can you try this next: navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader (if you have Reader XI installed), or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader (Reader XI on 64-bit Windows), and double-click on Eula.exe, then accept the license agreement.
Does that fix the problem? -

Adobe XI Acrobat won't save documents after scanning
Quite frustrated with this issue. I just purchased 23 new workstations and bought Adobe for them. 3 have Pro that I downloaded straight from Adobe's website, 20 have Standard that came through Dell Digital Delivery. Every single workstation has this same problem where we can use our desktop scanners to scan in documents, but then we can't save them using the "Save" or "Save As" button. This happens about 90% of the time, and then it works properly the other 10% of the time.
I've updated the drivers and the firmware on my scanners and each of these workstations is brand new, ordered from Dell, Optiplex 9010s and 7010s with 8 GB ram, i5 or i7 processors, Windows 7 64 bit, brand new Acrobat version 11.
We've been using Adobe Acrobat for a long time. Version 7, 8 and 9 on our XP computers and have never had this problem elsewhere. Out of curiosity I removed XI and installed 9 on to one of the workstations and it worked perfectly. I removed 9 and reinstalled 11 and the same problem is present.
I spent more than 6 hours in chat support between 5 different techs this last Friday and they're telling me they don't know what the problem is and that it has to be referred to a developer.
Anyone else having this issue? Any solutions? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.I've worked with several more different techs and had my 3rd party IT company work with Adobe as well. At several different points in time, the techs were totally not comprehending what the problem was, even though it was spelled out in plain English for them. We're on Win 7 and two different techs were working with me as if I was on Win XP. There is a terrible lack of communication with Adobe, even when I've sent in detailed information in writing to them. They've failed to escalate to higher tier techs and keep having techs work with me that are reading from an online manual rather than being knowledgeable in the inner workings of Acrobat. Very frustrating. 3 techs in a row attempted to appy the same fix, that didn't work, after reading the notes from the previous tech who attempted the same fix. It was a total run around and the worst tech assistance I've ever received.
At this point I've reloaded the Adobe software multiple times, installed updates and also used scanners with recent firmware and old firmware and it's still a problem. After playing with it for weeks on end, I found that using "custom scan" and having it set up for "native mode" works successfully 100% of the time. Any time I try any other scan options, I have the same problem again. I've issued the Custom Scan directive to my staff and we are completely trouble free using this method.
I finally got an answer, 6 weeks later, from Adobe after one of their people corresponded with Kodak on this issue. They tell me that according to Kodak, we'll have to use Custom Scan in order to run trouble free...which of course we already found out.
So, try the Custom Scan and in Native mode. It's not inconvenient and works fine. Good luck to everyone.
PS...also, I found this issue to happen with both Adobe Acrobat X and XI on Windows 7 machines. Adobe 8 and 9 work trouble free on the Win 7 machines. -
Mac Acrobat X opens then crashes after 8 seconds, how do you fix this Adobe?
I am trying to use Acrobat Pro X 10.1.3 on Mac 10.10.2.
Every time I open either the application or a pdf file, Acrobat Pro X crashes after about 8 seconds.
From looking at the forums, it seems many people have asked a similar question, however there does not appear to be a solution that works for Macs.
Acrobat Pro X is part of CS5.5 suite. Reinstalled on a new iMac and all Adobe products updated including Acrobat X.
Older version of Acrobat works on my old Mac but not here.
I have resorted to Acrobat Reader, however I need to use Acrobat Pro X.
Any solution or work around for Mac would be greatly appreciated.Hi,
Please try the following steps and let me know if that worked.
Delete all the files from following folders:
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate and check.

Why is acrobat 11.0.07 crashing on my MAC immediately after scanning a document to PDF. I have not had this problem until after a recent update . The scanner is a HP 8600 Officejet Pro....
Hi Steve
There is a known issue with Acrobat 11 and it is specific to network/shared scanners and Mac OS 10.9. We have logged a bug in our database and we are working with Apple to resolve this issue. The workaround would be to connect the scanner via USB.
Thanks

Acrobat XI Pro crashes after scanning
I upgraded to the Abobe Cloud and now I can't scan(HP 4200) documents without the Acrobat crashing. I never had a problem when I was using Acrobat 9. It does the scan and I can see it but then it crashes. I'm using Windows 7 and have seen a few forums mention the problem but not the solution. Thanks
Have you tried changing the Transfer Method under the Options button in the Scan dialog? The Native mode scans directly to a file and is considered to be more compatible with a wider variety of scanners. Memory Mode scan directly to your computer’s memory.

Adobe Acrobat 10.1.19 crashes, Event Viewer says scan.api is at fault
Hello all,
I am a relative newcomer to these boards but I got a problem I just can't seem to find the answer to, but it is a question that others are asking as well.
I recently had to reprogram my computer, Windows 7 64-bit. I installed everything back to the way it was. I installed the Brother MFC-420CN as I always do. I installed my Acrobat 10 and upgraded to 10.1.19.
For some reason, however, the program won't let me scan.
I go:
Create
PDF from Scanner
Custom Scan
I select "TW-Brother MFC-420CN USB," click the scan button, and I get a message saying "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working."
This is what Microsoft tells me:

This is what the Event Viewer tells me:
Faulting application name: Acrobat.exe, version: 10.1.9.22, time stamp: 0x52b1d7e3
Faulting module name: Scan.api, version: 10.1.9.22, time stamp: 0x52b1e4c4

The "scan.api" seems to be the culprit but I've been unable to find a fix.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks from a perplexed but long time Acrobat user.Unfortunately there isn't. When I install the MFC, the installation uses drivers from the 2009 installer and what it gets from Windows Downloads.

Acrobat Plug In Container Crashes After Update to Acrobat Pro 10.1.3
After the 10.1.3 update was applied to Acrobat Pro X for Windows (on Windows 7 64-bit), the Acrobat Plug-In for Firefox crashes intermittently. A dialog box will appear within the Firefox environment reporting the crash. Firefox continues running without issue.
Reported error:

I attempted a repair of the Acrobat 10.1.3 install, but this does not resolve the error; nor does reinstalling or updating Firefox to the latest build.ry a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Adobe Acrobat 10.1.4 Crash.
Hi,
I'm having an odd issue with computers that I deployed Adobe CS5.5 to recently using AAMEE 2.1, OSX 10.7.4. I just recently pushed out the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.4 update using Munki.. On a large percentage of our computers where CS5.5 was deployed using an AAMEE 2.1 built package, Acrobat will open, then crash within about 15 seconds in, with no error message. Then the red Adobe Application Manager/PDApp icon bounces in the dock for three seconds, then closes. After sorting this all out, here is a PDApp log capture of what is going on when Acrobat crashes:

I've opened other CS5.5 apps and they all seem to be okay, except for Acrobat. Is there anything I can do to fix this without a total uninstall and re-install? I'm not seeing this error in two labs where the CS5.5 package I deployed was built using a JAMF Composer Snapshot, rather than AAMEE 2.1
Thanks,
Ted AugustI have now come across the same symptoms after deploying the Adobe Acrobat X Pro v10.1.6 security update. The target systems experiencing problems generally have Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 Design Premium installed.
I have tried replacing/upgrading the Adobe Application Manager v7, reactivating CS5.5 via the command line tool, and upgrading Adobe Photoshop to v12.1.1.
So far, Acrobat X Pro v10.1.6 continues to launch and quit, AAM launches and quits, and the same log messages noted above are written. Has anyone found a working solution to get around this? -
Acrobat 8.1.5 crashes when scanning two-sided documents-help!
Hi,
I've been searching for some answer to this, but I'm not finding any yet...
My problem is that I am trying to use Acrobat 8.1.5 to scan in a double-sided multi-page document using a Brother MFC-7420 with a document feeder. I'm on OS 10.5.8. Scanning in single sided works fine, but when I ask for two-sided scanning it scans the first side, prompts me for the second side, scans it, then waits a few seconds and crashes. I get the "application Acrobat quit unexpectedly" message.
No I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat, updated my scanner drivers, fixed my permissions, shut down and restarted the computer several times and nothing seems to work. Tonight, however, I got an added conundrum when it allowed me to scan a single sheet front and back with now problem. When I loaded in another three sheets and tried to do the same thing, it died.
Anyone have any ideas?
I don't scan multiple pages double sided very often, but I'm pretty sure I've done it in the past with no problem so this has got me stumped.
Thanks!
TimThanks for all the suggestions.
I have tried all these things (I've completely un-installed everything Adobe on my system, going through the App Support and Preferences, and anywhere else I could find at least three times; thanks to problems with the Auto Updater (now fixed apparently) I've had to manually install all the updates; I've also installed them automatically and am currently at version 8.2.1. I've fixed permission, I've repaired directory structure, I've started in a new user account. The problem still persists. The most remarkable thing is that if I stay at version 8.0 it works properly—flawlessly even.
Do I sound just a little frustrated and piqued?
Here is part of the error report when it crashes—it means nothing to me, but maybe this will help?
