Adobe Acrobat 4.0 & 5.0 Licensing

Hey all,
I am trying to find out if these versions:-
Adobe Acrobat 4.0 & Adobe Acrobat 5.0
Are actually Licensed Software???
There are instances of installations on my network...however they don't appear for be "Reader" which is freeware.
any help would be great..Many Thanks LG

There were two products
Acrobat 4.0 and Acrobat Reader 4.0.
(and so on for 5.0).
The first was licensed, the second free.

Adobe Acrobat 8.1 reprompts for license accept every morning

Good morning everyone,
I have a user who is getting prompted every morning to accept the Adobe license. They click Accept and it goes away. They can continue to work the rest of the day in and out of Adobe Acrobat Standard no problems. They can even log in and out of their computer with no issues. The next day they get the license prompt again, which then can accept and then continue to work for the rest of the day. This happens every day for this user. Other users on that same computer seem to be fine. Adobe 8 was recently uninstalled/reinstalled and I think that is where the problems started for this one user. I have turned off updating, but it was previously set to weekly. Is the updating triggering this license to come back every morning when the user comes in? I haven't seen if this license comes back yet after I turned off the updates because I just did it right now.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 Download E-license Issue

I have installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 8. I have entered the serial number but when it tries to activate it cannot download the E-license. There is nothing in place in relation to Firewall/Proxy settings that is blocking access to the server. How can this be resolved?

Running adobe acrobat on a terminal server & licensing purchase

Is it possible to run both the standard and professional versions of adobe acrobat (1 license of each) on a terminal server? Each version would be security locked down to the specific licensed user.
Also
If you purchase adobe acrobat through licensing is it possible to purchase just one license or is there a minimum number of licenses that you can purchase? Is the better option for one license to purchase the boxed retail product?

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro won't license

Hello Adobe peoples,
I get the installation done, get my account logged into, and the license key is seen as valid, but I get told that no qualifying product could not be found on the machine. I just installed it, done so twice already!
What must I do to resolve this? Any ideas, rubbish as you can't get hold of someone in support. Oh wait, start a chat with them ... but it's not a real chat as they are all busy ... all NONE of them!
Come on guys, we pay a lot for the software, support needs to be better than this!

It seems you have purchased an upgrade license for Acrobat.
The upgrade license looks for the previous qualifying version on your computer and in case it does not find it it will prompt to enter the serial number.
Please select the previous Acrobat product you owned and enter the old serial number and it should work.
If you have never used any older version Acrobat program then you bought an incorrect license.
You need to return / cancel the order and order a retail version of Acrobat 11.

With "license" you mean serial number? If that serial number was for a different Acrobat version (e.g. 9), you cannot use it for the current version XI.
You can however use it to purchase an upgrade from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html

Ran system restore and now my Adobe Acrobat license has exceeded its limit

I tried restoring computer due to a corrupt install and it removed Adobe Acrobat, since the system restore did not work, I re-installed the OS, patched and then installed Adobe Acrobat XI Professional, entered my license and it comes up with exceeded amounts of use for this license. Would just like to get the license reactivated. Any help would be appreciated. I tried calling in and Adobe is closed on the weekends, tried chat but nobody has come online in quite sometime so now trying the forums since they are 24/7.

You will need to talk to Adobe, not users on the forums, because only Adobe can reactivate something on their end. I would imagine that staffing levels increase during the work week.

Previous I.T. for the company left no credentials for any possible online account with Adobe for the possible download from there. All I see options for is the Professional, and it does not work with a Standard license.

The license for Adobe Acrobat is user based .Single license permits only two installations.
You can download Acrobat standard and license it by typing in your Adobe credentials ,i.e Adobe ID and password.

Adobe Acrobat Activation Issue

Scenario:
PC 1 and PC 2 have been image from PC A and PC B. A and B both contained Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro under specific license numbers. Thus, I uninstalled Adobe from 1 and 2. On 1, when uninstalling Adobe, I was prompted to deactivate the software. However, this requires internet connectivity of which I don't have due to facility constraints. Thus, I skipped this step and continued unstalling. The process completed then I reinstalled the software. I was prompted to accept the User Agreement, however, the program started directly without asking me to activate the software. On 2, I uninstalled the software, but I was never prompted for deactivation. When I reinstalled, the software installed perfectly. I started it up, accepted the User Agreement, and it prompted me for activation. Why does one not prompt me for activation and the other one doesn't. How can I fix this? Can I fully remove Adobe so that this deactivation process doesn't hinder me from activating my software under the current license?

Did you do a Custom installation of CS3 (not attempting to install Acrobat over Acrobat 3D?)? If not then it might have made a mess the Acrobat activation component. I think you're probably on the correct path in doing the uninstall. You may want to use the cleanup script. Then reinstall Acrobat 3D and do a custom installation of CS3.

Problems with Adobe Acrobat

Hi everyone, I'm new to Apple Discussions and to the Mac world of OSX Tiger. I tried to download the newest version of Adobe Acrobat, tried it and it did not work for me and my computer started acting strange. So then I try and uninstall it, improperly I now know, by dragging everything to the trash. When I try to empty the trash I get a pop up box saying I can't because Splash something is running. Spotlight the name and it is part of the Adobe application. Now in a panic I shutdown the computer and restart. Everything seems to be running fine but I have my doubts. I feel so frustrated because I don't know what I'm doing. I really want to understand and I don't want to hurt my Mac so I'm turning to you for help.

Adobe Acrobat installs an uninstaller in its folder in the Applications folder. Always check an application's folder for an uninstaller or run the application's installer to check if there is an option to uninstall the application. Here's a FAQ on uninstalling:
Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:

Unless your computer has become unresponsive you should never force a shutdown. Always shutdown by using the Shutdown option from the Apple menu. Forced shutdowns can result (not always) in disk corruption.
If your computer is running without noticeable problems, then you're OK.
BTW, in order to update Adobe Acrobat you must have a licensed version already installed. New versions cannot be downloaded unless you have purchased it online from Adobe. For example, if you have Acrobat 7 you have to purchase an upgrade to Acrobat 8.
