Make a PDF from the Word document first, then insert that.

Adobe Acrobat and InDesign documents print once only

Hi,
Printing a 100 page 25 sheet imposed 8.5 x 14 Adobe Acrobat document is limited to only one copy. At the end of the first copy printing; printer stops and requests letter-size paper, for drawer one,
printer default is set for 8.5 x 14 and first print ran from drawer 2.
Older CS 2 imposed files, printed from IDCS2 still print multiple copies on HP 4200 duplex. The new Adobe work flow for page imposition yields a pdf file to be printed from Adobe Acrobat.
OS is 10.5.8 iMac duo core intel.
Work flow is Adobe InDesign CS5 book > flight test clear > .pdf > open with Acrobat 9.3.2 > impose with Quite Imposing > save imposed pdf > prints only one at a time
then printer stops and asks for different paper size in different drawer.
Specifically : Prints one copy means 25 sheets duplex is completed perfectly, starting the next set of 25 sheets (one document copy) is when the printer stops and asks for different paper from different drawer.
note : Evidence points to the printing control panel of CS 5.
Older imposed Adobe InDesign CS2 document opened by InDesign CS5 also will only print one document copy of 25 sheets±. Attempting to over-ride the Adobe InDesign CS5 panel for printing by selecting four copies there does not help. In other words, printing an old InDesign file from InDesign CS5 yields the same problem as printing a new InDesign CS5 imposed, saved as pdf and printed from Adobe Acrobat 9.3
Adobe forums report similar unsolved printing problems with InDesign CS4. I'm going to post this in Snow Lepord as well since my laptop has 10.6.

I'm sure you completely answered my question, I only checked helpful because my own thick skull is blocking a full appreciation of your brilliant insight.
Sadly, I'm away from my printer for another couple of weeks, even so, this shouldn't stop me from understanding what you are saying a little better.
I downloaded and went through the file from HP and it looks to me like the obvious default HP position is one copy. Am I clear in assuming from this, and your explanation, that the CS5 software engineer has overridden my command to print four ? I am making this assumption because the default is for long edge binding and I select short-edge legal-size duplex with legal size being my default size for the printer. Thus, the change in paper size and drawer location remains a mystery.
I often print four to five copies because that is a convenient stack for my aging cutter, any number greater than one is nice because I can avoid being in the room with the printer and breathing ink dust.
I am not sure how to send the print job to a file so I can open it with BBEdit and inspect the specific commands, this is very interesting to me. Though I'm at this point without the full skill set to master using this great knowledge. Also, over the years, I've found that I don't fully retain lessons once learned but rarely used, but that's a different and perhaps personal problem.

Adobe acrobat only prints first page with airport express

I got my printer (HP PSC1315) to work with airport express using one of the solutions described in these forums. Printing is fine except when trying to print pdf files with adobe acrobat, in which case only the first page of the document prints. Preview has no trouble printing pdfs. Anyone else experience this? Is there a solution?

Figured it out.
Adobe Acrobat/Reader is apparently very picky about printer drivers.
I had to have the users delete their mapped network printers from their Printers & Faxes window.
Then I opened the registry and went to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
I deleted the drivers for the printer(s) the customer had mapped (e.g. Xerox 6360DN, .. etc.)
I rebooted the computer
I had the customer logon and remap their printer.
That resolved the issue.

Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional Document Compare (Revision Bars)

When comparing two documents using Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional, is it possible to generate revision bars in the margin in sections where text has changed (the documents in question would be text-only).

Can anyone help with configuring Adobe Acrobate 9 Pro with Document Center? I have generated a form in LiveCycle and would like to set an expiry date on this fill-in form.

I have done exactly you told me but i did not have any success. I do not have any problem with Acrobat 8 but i have in Acrobat 9. The only difference I see with your example it is I have a HP Color Laset Jet instead a Dell printer.
I tried the preflighting options as well.. but i did not have any success either..
I can only print in gray, if i convert colors to gray but in this way my pdf document is converted to gray forever.

It works if I save the Document as PDF with extended Reader Funktions - extended tools aktivation.
Now I open this document with Adobe Reader and fill in the boxes and the sign.
I want to save this as an copie, where may client can´t change my fill in the boxes. How can I do this? I have in Adobe Redaer no "save as copie"

Not enough memory on adobe acrobat 9 for web page capture

I use adobe acrobat 9 pro for creating a pdf with web page capture function.
After a while (about more of 500 pages) the free ram became insufisant and the program stop.
I am running on windows 7 with 4 Go ram.
When i take a look on memory utilisation i see that adobe use more of 1.7 Go ram .
During capture the ram is always increasing , i didnt see disk saving .
Who has a idea ?

The .rpt file size is 14MB with the Data Save option enabled, 12MB without Data Save. Presumably the 12MB file size is because of the 24bit PNG we have as our background.
The Designer executes the report in less than a second and we can scroll through all pages and see the image fields perfectly.
When we Export to PDF, the Designer takes a long time, eventually gets to the 77%, the 7th record and returns "Export report failed" followed by "Memory full". If we export only page 1 of the 3 pages, it also returns a Memory full error. However, when the same report is run with only 1 page, that page exports to PDF but with a ridiculously large size and export time.
The machine has 2GB of physical memory with an 8GB pagefile with Windows 2003 (latest everything). The process runs up to about 1GB before reporting the memory full error.
We've also tried a variety of other suggestions posted in the other thread with no success.
We're happy to provide the RPT file to the Report Team to diagnose the problem. Ultimately, we need to be able to produce a 15 page report with approximately 45 images.
Our preferred scenario is fixing problem 2. The CR Designer seems quite capable of rendering our report and printing it to our third party PDF printer in a timely manner with small size. However, the API reports memory full.
The API resides in a dedicated reporting web service with NO other code except for loading the report, setting parameters and printing. When executing, it uses up to about 1.1GB before reporting the error.
Are there any other suggestions for fixing what we have? Are there known problems with large images in reports? Do we need to lodge a formal support request?

Saving Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Documents

When saving Acrobat XI Pro documents, there is no choice to select save as XI only X and higher. Do I have the wrong software.

In the top right corner go to "File" and drop down to "Save as other", slide over to next box and select "Reduced Size PDF". A box will appear where you can select "Make compatible with". The drop down arrow will allow you to select the version. Also if you select "File" and drop down to "Save As Other", slide over to next box and select "Optimized PDF", a box will appear and under “Make compatible with:” this information is the same as Adobe Acrobat X .

InDesign CS5.5 - Adobe Acrobat export (incorrect master pages and crop marks)

Hi, I've recently experienced a couple of anomalies when exporting books from InDesign to PDF.
The first issue was that, on seemingly random pages of the book, the exporter suddenly seemed to interpret the crop marks incorrectly. The book pages would go something like: left, right, left, right, right, left, right.
The second issue was that the pdf didn't display the correct master page on one page of the book. The InDesign file has sections with slight grey backgrounds to separate particular sections of the book. One of the pages in one of those grey sections just appears as white (the text remained unharmed) in the pdf though the InDesign file is as it should be.
Any suggestions?

First issue: No pages are missing, the crop marks indicating whether right or left go out of l,r,l,r order.
Second issue: There is a background fill on the master page. I just checked and the attribute is fine. What's strange is that the first time I made this pdf and sent the book to print, this didn't happen. Now that I've reexported for a second print of the book it happened (the master pages haven't been touched between prints and the same print settings have been used). Is it possible that the exporter can just mess up?

Unwanted blank pages inserted when creating pdf from scanner

Hello, when creating a pdf from a document scanned via Adobe Acrobat X Pro, the program inserts an unwanted blank page in between each page being scanned. So, if scanning 50 pages, we get 100, etc. How do we remediate this problem? We have worked with the default settings, to no avail. We're using a Fujitsu fi-5530c2 scanner. Adobe acrobat X cannot open PDF files in Firefox, though IE can. What gives?

when I download a page that's a PDF file from the Web, Firefox cannot open it, although Internet Explorer can. I just uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 because I had Adobe Reader X installed.

Computer: Apple MacPro Tower, 6GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM, Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Processor speed = 3.2 GHz

Correct way to install new driver is go to Printer Utility and delete That printer from the list.
Then install the new driver.
Then go back to Printer Utility and add the new driver Back
Then go to systems preferences and to Print Fax (or Printer if no longer setup for fax) and set up for the the printer and set as default.
This way you shouldn't have to go into either print menu or Page setup menu and set for desired printer.
most hp printer in the pint menu you click copies and pages and mouse down to two sided pages you choose either book (facing pages) or Tablet (printed as you would a Tablet that's bound at the top.
you need to test a two page document to see which does correctly for you. Its best never to have the application set for two sided. in fact if you have set for two sided in both one counter acts the the other.
So set it only in the printer menu and no where else.
Also once you set up you can save printer profiles that you can go back to click on the Presets button mouse down to very bottom save with a anme you can remember even put the words two-sided in title then save. Then you can go to that preset and print your heart out.

Using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 w/Reader 9.0: Cannot Enable Commenting

When I send out the PDF documents in an email-based review, my colleagues open the documents with Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0, but are unable to add and save comments to the document. Why not?
How do I enable Adobe Acrobat 7.0 documents for commenting?

In Adobe v.7.1.0, Standard Version, the Comments menu does not have the
"Enable for Commenting" option.

Is it only in Adobe Acrobat, v.8.0, that the Enable for Commenting
option exists to allow your reviewers who only have Reader to add

Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0

I cannot open any of my already saved documents which are saved as Adobe
Acrobat Reader 7 documents. What can I do if anything to open these? If not, do I need to download the newest version and if so, will that open my already saved 7.0 documents?

Finally, what means "cannot open" - what happens when you try?
