Adobe Acrobat 7 errors when exiting.

We arfe using Adobe Acrobat 7 professionsl and Adobe reader 9.2 on one of our systems here.  Recentyly on exiting we have noted that Acrobat proffesional displays an eoor, please see attached files.  Is there any way to stop this happening?

I have tried re installing both programs that did not help.  After un installing all versions of reader and also Acrobat Pro, when just Acrobat Poro was re installed that we still had this problem.
This is a new issue which started after the latest update to Acrobat Pro previously we had been running for years with both Reader and Pro on this System.  Unfortunately the ONLY update to Acrobat 7 Pro that is still available is the latest one with this bug in it.

  • Firefox 4 displays "Could not launch Acrobat" error when exiting

    Firefox 4
    Adobe Reader X installed
    OS: Win7 Pro
    Every time I exit Firefox, whether I view a PDF file or not, I get an error message, saying "Could not launch Acrobat."
    I've manually gone Options, Applications and changed them to use Acrobat Reader, but the problem persists.
    The only way I've solved the problem is to reinstall Firefox 3.6.16.
    Any suggestions? I'd like to use Firefox 4, but won't until this issue is resolved.

    Have no solutions to this problem been found? It seems many people have it. I get the error on start up and when shutting down Firefox.

    See if you can find a NPPDF32.DLL files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)
    You can see the installed plugins on the about:plugins page.

    You can set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
    It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
    You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).
    If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.

  • The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.OK. I followed the instruction and the problem still persists.

    I got the following pop-up when I tried to open an online PDF file:
    The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser.
    Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.
    I tried many time, and it really doesn't work.
    The plug-in I have is Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280

    After I upgraded to Firefox 5, I had the same problem and I did a work around temporarily. I went the tools menu, then Add-ons, then clicked the "Plugins" on the left side (4th one down). I "disabled" both Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280 and Adobe Acrobat 10.1.0.536 using the disable buttons on the right side. PDF files now open again. However they are outside the actual browser.
    My guess is that Adobe didn't catch up yet with a new update to work with Firefox or vice versa.
    Hope that helps!
    Michael

  • Adobe Acrobat hangs when opening PDFs even after reinstall

    Hello,
    I have 2 new Dell systems that are having issues with Adobe Acrobat.  When opening PDFs, either from an email attachement or file from our server, there is a brief hang that lasts 10-15 seconds, during which Acrobat is unresponsive however the workstation continues to respond.  I've since uninstalled/reinstalled, still no luck.  I've also run updates. Problem unresolved.
    Any ideas

    One of our users is having a similar issue with Adobe Reader 9.2 hanging.  Adobe Reader will eventually open after about 5 seconds.  I've found a work around where if I leave a .pdf document open, any other .pdf I click will open up fine (but a .pdf needs to be left open in Adobe Reader).  This is happening only with one user.  Some of the things I've tried that have not worked: repairing, uninstalling/reinstalling, deleting temp files, opening the file with a different account/profile, downgrading to Adobe Reader 8.1.3.  Anyone have any ideas?  This is only happening to one user at my company.  I've searched the forums here and it looks like other people are having similar issues but there's really not a solution to this.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

  • Acrobat error when opening pdf email attachments

    I have a user who has the latest version of Adobe Acrobat and Reader installed on his PC running Windows 7 Pro SP1 which is up to date on patches.
    He was unable to open any pdf documents attached to email and was getting an error from Acrobat saying it couldn't open them. I changed the default file association for .pdf file from Acrobat to Reader and now he can open most pdf attachments. The only ones he is having a problem with are ones that come from his bank in what he was told by his banker are secure emails.
    What happens when he clicks on the pdf attachment in the emails from his bank is that he gets a popup with Adobe Acrobat in the title bar of the popup and the message that says "Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in your web browser. Reader will now exit. Please exit your browser and try again." The buttons to click on are OK and Cancel. If he clicks OK, the popup goes away and the pdf then opens in Reader.
    So while he can view the pdf, he gets the annoying popup that he has to click through. Is there any way to get rid of that error message popup so when he clicks on the pdf in the secure emails, that it just opens without error like the pdf's do from non-secure emails?

  • "An internal error has occurred" error when exiting

    hey Adobe you've got a bug in your updater...
    read here:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c06325e/0
    I also experience this weird "An internal error has occurred" when quitting Acrobat 8.1.2 its there since the very minute i updated from 8.1... now i wish i could revert the update...
    UPDATES ARE SUPOSED TO IMPROVE THINGS NOT BREAK THEM !!
    Can anybody solve this ? I dont want to be force-quitting acrobat forever...

    ---- PROBLEM SOLVED IN MY CASE ------
    this is what i did:
    I have Acrobat 8.0.0 installed as a part of Creative Suite CS3 installation...
    1- i ran the Creative Suite CS3 installer
    2- i choose UNINSTAL Acrobat 8 only, leaving the rest of CS3 suite installed, its very important to UNINSTALL and not REINSTAL or REPAIR as REINSTALL or REPAIR doesnt help anything...
    3- after UNINSTALLING Acrobat 8 i used DiskOrder (or any good file manager which can search inside hidden and system folders) and searched for the word "Acrobat"
    4- i got about 70 results (mostly folders in Prefrences, Cache, etc.) i deleted manually everything related to Acrobat - that was pretty risky but i was lucky...
    5- i ran Creative Suite CS3 installer which gave me a new option INSTAL ACROBAT 8.0
    6- INSTALLED ACROBAT 8.0 and WITHOUT restarting i IMMEDIATELLY applied 8.1 and 8.1.2 updates
    7- restart
    DONE
    NO MORE "An internal error has occurred" MESSAGE WHEN EXITING ACROBAT

  • Adobe Acrobat aborts when using LiveCycle Designer PDF Preview tab.

    Whenever I try to use the PDF preview tab in LiveCycle Designer, Adobe Acrobat aborts.  I get the notice that "Adobe Acrobat 8.1 has encoutered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  Yadda, yadda, yadda,....." .
    The error signature is:

    Please increase your Buffer memeory for appalications.
    Before you go for a preview. try to kill the exisitign process of adobe reader.
    We need to see hte size of the XDP being generated.
    If it is over 20 0r 30 MB, we may need to bring it down to 2 - 4 MB.
    Again if the problem still persists, Re install the acrobat and try.
    Lastly, check if the same problem happens when you use a adobe reader 8.1.3 or 9.4 (stable versions).

  • JTable Print to Adobe Acrobat Error

    I'm having trouble printing a jTable using Java 1.5.0_03 to Adobe Acrobat (6.0). Whenever I call print using (assuming proper try/catch statements) either
    jTable.print();or
    printJob.setPrintable(jTable.getPrintable(JTable.PrintMode.FIT_WIDTH, new MessageFormat("Header"), new MessageFormat("Footer")));
    if (printJob.printDialog())
    printJob.print();the printed jTable's column headers extend higher than they are supposed to like they were stretched (like when you drag the scroll bar down on your screen and the screen freezes), and effectively cover up parts of the header (the "Header" in this case).
    My jTable is setup as follows
    XYZ = new DefaultTableModel();
    XYZ.addColumn("A");
    XYZ.addColumn("B");
    jTable = new JTable();
    jTable.setModel(XYZ);I think this is an error with how the print function interacts with Adobe Acrobat as I don't have this problem printing to a normal printer. Is there any way to fix this?

    Are you saying there is no Adobe PDF printer, or it does not work? If it simply that it does not seem to work, then try to print to file with the printer. Then open the file in Distiller. If you get a resultant PDF, then the problem is most likely that you have somehow deactivated AcroTray.exe in the running applications. The program is in the Acrobat folder and needs to be started in that case. It should also be listed in your boot sequence for startup.

  • Adobe PDF errors when printing

    Good Morning, wondering if I can get some help identifying the root cause of an issue we came across.
    To inform you on the issue, we have a drawing tool that does not export files to PDF format.  We use third party tools to do this, either Adobe PDF available from an installed version of Adobe Acrobat, or another utility called dopdfv7.  Once these drawing tool files are converted to PDF files, there are a select few PDF files that Adobe reader cannot print, and the errors shown below are given.
    There were several version of Adobe Reader that presented these errors, adobe reader 10 version (unknown, version she had installed and had been using for some time now), adobe reader xi 11.0.10 and adobe reader xi 11.0.20 both presented the errors below.    I was and am able to print the same PDF files that are giving these errors, with adobe reader xi 11.0.00.
    What is the difference in the versions of adobe reader that would allow adobe reader xi 11.0.00 to print these PDF files when the other mentioned adobe reader versions are getting the errors below when trying to print them?

    The Operating System is Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit.
    Sorry about that, it may have been reader version 11.0.02 instead.  We tried 3 or 4 before getting the 11.0.00 reader version that worked.
