Adobe Acrobat 7 printer not recognized.

Need to be able to print to PDF.  Used this feature in Win XP just fine.  New computer with Win 8 does not recognize the PDF printer.  No download available from Adobe website for the distiller (yes, there is an Adobe Distiller "server" but this will be discontinued in 2013 so why would I bother?).  Tried "dmcmahon" solution to manually install the printer but my computer DOES NOT SHOW "Documents\*.pdf" in the ports.  I am unable to "create" this port.  Did I pay for useless software or is there a fix that won't cost me more money?

Umm, you paid once 8 years and hope to maintain this through eternity? No offense, but you need to take a different view on such things. I'm sure in teh meantime you have updated your Office software more often... Yes, it's simply not compatible and all the tricks in teh world won't make it work. If you just want to "print" PDfs, there's enough cheap alternatives or even free ones like GhostScript. Otherwise simply get a new version of Acrobat.

  • Adobe Acrobat printer not installed in Vista

I installed Adobe Acrobat 9 in windows XP and Vista. In XP installed properly and can covert to PDF. In Vista installed properly but can't find the Adobe printer in printers, when I open File ---> Print from any application can't found Adobe PDF. But when right click a file "Convert to Adobe PDF" appears and can convert. Please help me to solve this. Also I have Adobe reader 8 in vista.

Convert to Adobe PDF is a preprocessor for the Adobe PDF printer. Thus, for any conversion with Acrobat you have to have the printer installed. As a work around, you can install another PS printer and then open the PS file in Distiller, but that is not a great workaround. Sorry that I do not have an answer in terms of the Adobe PDF printer. Good luck.

  • Why Adobe Acrobat is not recognizing text on black backgrounds

I was surprised when I first discovered this. I thought Adobe was supposed to have the best OCR software in in the world, I tested in on few backgrounds, white text on black background - not working, yellow text on black background - not working..
I was disappointed, I had to use onlineocr, which did better job than Adobe Acrobat, it discovered all kinds of texts, bold fonts, text on multi-colored background - things that Acrobat OCR couldn't recognize..

    Hi Anubha,
    Thanks for your help.
In Finder ...... > Twain Data Sources I found two files, "Canon MP980 series Network.ds" (1.9Mb) and "Canon MP980 series.ds" (2Mb). Next to Kind for both it says "Application". I don´t see the word "Package" or "PowerPC" or "Universal". However, under Where, it says "Macintosh HD>Library>Image Capture>TWAIN Data Source. This is also the same information I find on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.10.3), but still running Acrobat CC (not upgraded yet, thankfully). I can still scan using my MBP.
I was able to scan using Image Capture.
I did not have time to go through the procedure of logging in as root user.
Frankly, this seems way to complicated. There has to be an easier fix to the problem.
I also checked Canon´s website for updated driver files, but there are none for Yosemite.
    Regards,
    Tor-Eddie

  • My Adobe Acrobat does not always print from Illustrator.  This is very time-consuming to have contin

My Adobe Acrobat does not always print from Illustrator.  This is very time-consuming to have continuous problems that are obviously software based.  I have no issues with Illustrator, but we communicate on this campus via low res PDF files as proofs for approval.  Acrobat gives me no reasons why it does not want to print, it just says it can not print the file.  Fonts are NOT and issue here.  It will created a high res Illustrator PDF file but I can not print a low res PDF file.

This usually happens when you introduce a specific dependency like trying to resample certain placed image types and things like color profile conversions fail. Also stripping native AI data to reduce file size may cause this. Generally it is not recommended to print to PDF from apps that have native PDF saving functionality, anyway. You can just as well get the same result using AI's Save As feature.

LorettaKallen are you trying to install Adobe Acrobat Standard 11 utilizing the Adobe Application Manager?  Do you receive the same error message if you use Internet Explorer or Firefox?

  • Adobe products are not recognized in my Internet Explorer 10 on my Win 7 64B professional

Adobe products are not recognized with my Internet Explorer. I cannot open PDF documents on websites and I cannot play MSN games since Flash Player is not found. I have tried manage add-ons and enable status without success. Can anyone supply detailed information on how to fix this problem?

Are you running IE10 in 64-bit mode?  The Adobe Reader plugin is 32-bit, and can only run on a 32-bit browser.
Regarding Flash Player, do you have ActiveX Filtering enabled?  Disable it.

  • "Adobe Acrobat could not install correctly"

Has a fix been found yet for this damn annoying problem.
I get this message regularly on my Mac G5, Leopard 10.5.2. I must have reinstalled the program about 5 times by now. It works properly for a few days, then this-
"Adobe Acrobat could not install correctly"
"A required component was not found, please restore the Adobe Acrobat folder from your original CD".
Doing a forum search, I noticed people were having this same problem as far back as October 2007. Has it been resolved yet, and if so how?

I discovered that when I initially install Acrobat it works fine. However, after I run the program Monolingual, which removes languages and architectures that my Intel Mac does not require, Acrobat has this exact failure.
I went to Monoligual's website and in their FAQ's they address this issue. (http://monolingual.sourceforge.net/faq.php) You simply need to add the Acrobat folder (/Applications/Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional) to the Monolingual preferences list and then uncheck both boxes. Also, with Acrobat Professional 8.1.4 you need to add the folder /Library/Printers/PPDs to the list and uncheck both boxes, because Monoligual will delete four Asian Language folders from this folder and Acrobat will give you an error if they are not there.
So, if you use Monolingual, or some other program that removes languages and architectures, this might be your solution.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI: Error Adobe Acrobat is not activated. Cannot create PDF File.

After installing Acrobat XI Pro on Windows 7 Ent. w/Office 2010.
From MS Word, select Save as PDF, I recieve "Adobe Acrobat is not activated. Cannot create PDF file."
Any and all troubleshooting has failed.
Uninstall Acrobat, language packs, re-install, install updates, Install on fresh image.

kglad  your link refers to Windows XP. As to the rest it is questionable. First of all it would be nice to know the cause, before fixing the problem. For in some cases eliminating the cause will solve problems later on. So, in my case for ex. The problem did not exist until I protected my Word 2010 document and then saved it to PDF--which it would not allow to do so and giving the error message stated above.

  • Adobe Acrobat is not installing with CS5 Suite

I have downloaded the CS5 Suite and Adobe Acrobat is not being included in that download for some reason. What is wrong and how can I correct this issue asap!
    thank you

    Hello,
I am having the same issue. I purchased CS5 a few years ago and have reinstalled it onto my new computer (Was done successfully). When I went to download CS5, the adobe acrobat pro 9.3 (I believe this is the version) was not included. For the life of me, I cannot find the ability to download it anywhere. I'd prefer to not to have to purchase it again since I already bought it (even though it's been a few years).
Any tips would be most appreciated!
    Thanks,

Check your Adobe account online to see if a download is available.  Your serial number might be there as well, which you will need to activate.  Here are download links as well..
    Acrobat XI, X - http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html
    Acrobat 9, 8 - http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-8-9-product-downloads.html

After purchasing Adoce Pro and while attempting to download Adobe Pro I got this message: Adobe Acrobat is not currently available for your language or platform. For a list of supported platforms and languages, click here.

Vista is not supported for Acrobat XI or Acrobat DC, even if you can ignore the requirements and force the trial to install. Adobe don't test it on Vista, so they can't and won't support it.

  • Adobe Acrobat Has Not Deinstalled Correctly

    Hi,
I deinstalled Technical Communication Suite 2, and then installed TCS5, but Adobe Acrobat has not deinstalled correctly.
Now, it is labeled with a strange icon (gear-wheel).
How can I repair the installation?
    Best regards,

What is your operating system?  On Windows you could use the Acrobat Cleaner Tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html then reinstall Acrobat.

    thanks for the insightful post.
Sorry.  I guess I should have been more explicit.  Perhaps if I had said, "Do a thorough search, actually read through the threads, and follow the advice of people who have solved the exact same problem you have."
    Jay
You know, i have never understood this, if you are so adversed to helping people, then why do you even logon or post in a help forum at all?  it has always perplexed me when people come to help forums and make a thread for help, and the help that person gets is, 'search for another thread that has the answer'.  This happens enough times since people that log on to help forums like yourself, just hate helping people, and eventually, a search ends up like this.
    Search 'USB printer not recognized'
Returns 20 threads, all with 1 or 2 replies that say something along the lines of, 'this is solved in another thread, search it up'.
So now everyone gets to go through 20 threads just to get nowhere.  Then finally, after spending 2.5 hours searching through 20 useless threads, since nobody could post any help in them, you find the thread with a solution, and its 71 pages long and has 30 different try this, no try that, that didn't work says one person, oh, it did says another, instead of just posting the link to the wiki in each of the subsequent threads...but that is just asking too much out of anyone, after all, they are too busy looking at threads in a help forum that they know the solution to, and making posts for the poster to look for a solution, instead of actually helping...
I guess it just bugs me.  If i had found the answer, i wouldn't have posted about it now would I?
    peace
