Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2 Trial Uninstall

My trial of Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2 has expired. When I went to uninstall it, I get this error:
Error 1606. Could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Pictures\.
With a Retry and Cancel option.
Retry does absolutely nothing useful
Cancel stops the uninstall from proceeding.
Any suggestions?

Found my problem - it's a Windows issue (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886549)
Fixed that, and the uninstaller ran properly.

  • Adobe Acrobate 8.0 Professional trial uninstall help

Good morning, I downloaded a trial of Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional & I've decided not to purchase at this time. I would like to unistall this trail as I'm now unable to use Adobe Reader as the Professional version gives me a pop-up window saying I cannot use it without purchasing Adobe Professional. I've tried to unistall with "Add/Remove programs" & I get a error msg "error 1402.could not open key: HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Classes\adbanner.adbanner\CurVer. Verify that you have suffcient access to that key, or contact you support personnal." Please help - I have Windows XP.

You need to be logged in as the administrator to uninstall the package. Sometimes you have to reinstall before you can uninstall. Even after you uninstall, you may have to use the MS clean up utility mentioned in other topics and reinstall Reader (the uninstall will like break Reader).
Strange that you have been running AA8 Pro trial. It has not been available for almost a year.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro free trial won't launch, claiming no Internet connection

    Hi,
I wondered if anyone could help me solve this mystery: I am trying to launch the Adobe Acrobat XI Pro free trial. Sign In is required to use the trial. But when I click on "Sign in now", I get the message "Please connect to the Internet and retry". Which is strange, because  my Internet connection is active and stable. The same panel hints that my clock might be at fault (but it is correct). I am running Windows 7, no earlier version of Adobe Acrobat installed. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you might have on how I can resolve this riddle.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andreas

    Hi SumitV,
Thank you for answering and suggesting ways to remedy my problem. I tried all the four actions you made me aware of, but although everything seems to be all right, I still cannot launch Acrobat XI in the trial version. The only little hickup came when accessing Adobe's secure site, which prompted this message:
But when I later checked the certificate, it seemed to be installed and enabled. I am no expert, but it looked like it should according to step 4 under http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-i ssues.html

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional - will not uninstall

I tried to install this program with Windows 7, 64-bit numerous times and it would not work 100%.  I even downloaded the "patch" file for windows 7, but the program would freeze every single time I opened it.  I have since reverted back to just using Adobe reader, but CANNOT uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.  The uninstall completely freezes about 60-65% of the way through, and I just end up closing it down.  However, I cannot install any new software on my computer because the installer application keeps saying that another program is being installed (Adobe) when in actuallity it is NOT!
Pleeease provide any help as to how I can uninstall this program.  The program is still listed when I got to the control panel and uninstall a program.  I have tried Modify, Repair, & Remove all unsuccessfully.  I have deleted all files from the C: drive except the "Resource" folder, which I keep getting Folder Access Denied and that I "require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this folder."  Well, I am the administrator and the ONLY user on my computer, so I don't know what that is all about.  I am beyond frustration with this, the microsoft forum told me to check here for assistance.

    Hi meanwire,
    I had a similar problem .
Here is the solution that worled for me. try it out:
    1. Install Acrobat 8.0  (which i think you have already done)
    2. Now go to the following link and download Acrobat 8.1 update
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3662
    3. Apply the downloaded 8.1 update manually
    4. Once the manual update is successful launch Acrobat and do Acrobat menu Help ->Check for updates
    Hope it works for you!!

  • Error Message With Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Free Trial Version

    Hi,
I know that this is a holiday weekend, but I need assistance with Adobe Acrobat 9 Free Trial Version.  I downloaded it, and then created a PDF file from MS Word 2007.  I tried to print, but the "save as" command popped up.  I had already saved it, so it already had a document name.  I tried resaving it and it would not do so.  Here's the error message that I received:
"Adobe PDF cannot access the file because it is in use by another application process.  Verify that the file is not open by another application or process and try again.
I did not have another app open.  Also, during this time, the software setup box kept popping up.  I kept selecting the 30 day trial version, but nothing would happen after I selected the button.  I am using the Vista OS on my computer.  I also have the Adobe Reader 9 which I have had for a while.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the free version of Adobe Acrobat 9 and got the same result as described above.  If someone can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.
    Michelle Williams

You have a problem. You cannot have Reader and Acrobat Pro on the same computer. It causes problems. Normally, I'd tell you to uninstall Reader and re-install Acrobat Pro, but doing so might make your trial fail and you cannot get two trials. For the moment when trying to create a pdf file, try printing to the the Adobe PDF virtual printer.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard download/trial version

    Hello,
I am looking for a download for Adobe Acrobat 9 STANDARD. I have a valid key, but no CD. I've been to http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html but that is all PROFESSIONAL versions.
Is there anywhere on the Internet where I can download a trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9 STANDARD?
    Thank you!

    Hello Romsinha,
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I have tried that already. The chat support says to go to the forums. Here is a screenshot of the options I have when attempting to contact support: http://i.imgur.com/Tg7uiHP.jpg. In the chat, it asks you to select the product you need help with. Since I need assistance with version 9, I select Acrobat X & Lower versions. Once that is selected, 4a states that Acrobat 10(or is it X? not very consistent) requires a Support Contract. Then in parenthesis, 4a states "Support for Acrobat 8 and lower versions is available only on the user to user forums...".
I called Adobe phone support and confirmed that my serial number is valid, but stated that support via phone for Acrobat 9 is not available and directed me to the forums. Now I'm on the forums and I'm directed to contact chat support. So I go to chat and it says to go to the forums for help. Where do I have to go just to download a trial of Acrobat 9 standard so I can put in my valid serial number?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X lost after uninstall of CS5.5 - now cannot reinstall

I installed Creative Cloud.  Then Deactivvated and uninstalled CS5.5.  I lost Acrobat Pro X and cloud installer (which is the only option to download and install) still says "installed".  Do I have to uninstall and reinstall the whole suite to get this right?  If so, Adobe needs to warn users to uninstall CS5.5 (etc) BEFORE install Creative Cloud.  Jeez.

It seems that the uninstallation of acrobat was not successful and hence CC shows it as "Installed".
If you have uninstalled CS5.5 completely, you can also try using this cleaner tool : https://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html to clean all the remaining traces of CS 5.5 (use it carefully and chooe options carefully).

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 will not uninstall

I am helping a customer who had a hard drive problem. Using WinXP recover I was able to get him back and then we used a cloning program to move everthing to a new drive. It all came up and mostly is running fine, except for a strange Acrobat problem.
He has a fully licenensed version of Acrobat Pro 7. When we tried to install it, we got errors. So next I went to programs remove and removed the Acrobat 7 pro and even went so far as to remove most all registry entrees.
He went to open a pdf file and the 7 popped up and opened the file! So where is this thing? If I uninstalled it why is it coming up? We rebooted the computer after the uninstall and still this crazy program is opening. I checked the help file and sure enough it says Pro 7. The desktop icon is gone and the one in the start programs shows blank.
So then he also has a licensed ver of 9 pro. So we tried to install that and it said there is an older version - 7- on the computer do you wan to remove it? We said yes! Then it tried to install itself and the next message we go was that there was an older version of 9 on the computer and so it could not finish the install.
I searched everywhere including the registry and could not find anything that said ver 9!! Nothing! Nada!
So we tried installing ver 7 again but it said it was already on there and yet I cannot find it in add remove programs or anywhere else.
Can someone tell me what is going on here?
    Thanks for you help

The message would suggest that the trial had been installed before. It will just be a marker indicating a prior installation. You may just have to reinstall AA8.

How can I update my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro? I uninstalled Acrobat as suggested, re-installed, and tried to update. It still fails.

Sometimes there are server issues and such. A reinstall is a bit drastic. Try http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows.
