Adobe Acrobat 8.1.6 (CPSID_49167) failed to install.

Running Professional 8.1.5. It says it wants to update, then I get this message:
I am the administrator, there is no antivirus software, it's a legal copy with a valid serial number, running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on a Macbook Pro. The previous updates worked fine. I have restored from CD and tried several times. The updates go in one by one till this one.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi,
Just toss'n the chicken bones here; but, why not try a "repair" of 8.1.5 & then try the update.
Be well...

Same problem. Creative Cloud subscriber running Mac 10.10.2 on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014). All apps work fine EXCEPT for Adobe Acrobat XI. I have tried 100 times and 100 solutions. NOTHING works.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Standard 11.0.10 silent install failing with error 1603

    Hello
I just updated my AIPs for Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 Pro and Standard.  The Pro silent install is working fine.  But I cannot get the Standard install to run on Windows 7 or WIndows 8.   I have gone over every detail that I can think of or find on forums.
I use the Adobe Customization Wizard XI and choose the basic stuff to create my transform.  I don't generally enter a serial number in the customization setup but I tried that and the installation did appear to complete successfully.  But when I tried to open Acrobat it did not work.  Processes like PDapp.exe where running in a loop but never stopped.   Without a serial I get the errors below and the install fails almost immediately.   I have recreated the API and transform a few times hoping it would help.
Installing with the following line msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroStan.msi" TRANSFORMS=AcroStan.mst /qb /L*v c:\acrobat.log I get an error message that just says "error".
    Application Event logs
Product: Adobe Acrobat XI Standard --  error.
Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Adobe Acrobat XI Standard. Product Version: 11.0.10. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems. Installation success or error status: 1603.
When I run the AcroStan.msi by itself the installation completes successfully so it would appear the issue is in customization process or the .mst file.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

I'm assuming that verbose logging is accomplished by adding /L*v c:\acrobat.log ?  No, I do not have CustomAction AAMIU_Install.196A45B3_0387_4DF9_9420 in my log file.  The only items referencing 1603 are below.
CustomAction CheckForPendingOperation returned actual error code 1603 but will be translated to success due to continue marking
CustomAction SetLotusNotesInstalled returned actual error code 1603 but will be translated to success due to continue marking

My hard drive fried and had to be replaced. I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".
    Can anyone help?

Yep.  Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI.  I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column.  Now it's just blank.  Link to screenshot below:
    http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/5006/screenshotcaf.jpg
Note the install date.  That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it.  Now I can't even do that.  I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller.  It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it?  It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd.

    Hi MAX22,
Even though it's your computer but your user account might not have sufficient privileges to install the software.
    Please try the following :
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

  • Adobe Acrobat 5.0.5 autoplay fails to initialise.

Following a new installation of Windows XP SP3 I cannot reinstall Acrobat 5.0.5 from the CD autoplay or from a copied version of the CD on the hard disk.
It installed fine a few years ago and the disk has been protected and unused since so no reason to expect the disk is faulty. Unusually I can't find a solution on the forums. Only one similar user instance did not receive a competent answer.
I would appreciate any help on this frustrating problem.

On clicking install (or the setup.exe) the timer icon shows for several seconds, the hard disk is active and then all calms down. No message is given.
I had already tried Win 2000 compatibility mode but tried again, no joy.
I mentioned in my earlier post that I thought the problem might be that I had installed Reader 11 prior to my first attempt at installing 5.0.5 and that some registry entries were preventing the installation. I uninstalled reader 11 and used Adobe cleaner to remove other files and registry entries. After retrying the 5.0.5 install adobe registry entries have re-appeared so the install must be starting. Is there a clock to re-set for number of installations?

  • Message received after Adobe Acrobat X Standard reinstall - Update failed Error 1007

    Adobe Acrobat Error 1007
Updates have been disabled by your system policy
    HELP!!  The situation:
    Windows 7 Professional 32-bit .
The product was uninstalled and then reinstalled.
After the reinstall, it never asked for a EULA acceptance, a re-registration  or a re-activation.
It would open a pdfs for about 6 seconds and then close out.
If you tried to do updates from the menu in the program, it would give this error:

This alert was created by a JavaScript code (as you can see from the title of it), which someone obviously did not write very well.
You should be able to open it if you disable JS (Edit - Preferences - JavaScript), and then you can remove this code completely (if the file is not secured).

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.1 Won't Install Updates

Adobe Updater shows that the following update is available:
    Adobe Acrobat 9.2.0 (CPSID_5026)
When I select the update and click install, it downloads the the update, but as soon as it finishes downloading and starts the installation process, I get the following pop-up box:
"The installation process has incountered a problem.  Please choose from the following option."  My choices are "Run this update again", "Stop installing and continue later", or Cancel this update and quit".
My only real option is to cancel the update and quit.
I tried downloading the updates directly from the website in addition to downloading them from the help menu in Adobe.
Not sure if it has any relevance, but I'm currently running Windows XP Version 5.1 with Service Pack 3.
Can anyone offer some assistance to get the updates installed?

My personal experience with Acrobat updates is that they MUST be installed in numerical order. I checked the Adobe updates for Acrobat 9. There are two updates (9.1.2 and 9.1.3) that you need to download and update Acrobat before downloading and installing 9.2.0.
The update feature from inside Acrobat only seems to work if Acrobat is updated with the most recent predecessor update. A very clumsy way to do it indeed!
    Good luck.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 (CS5 Suite) -Deployment Silent Install

    Hello!

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro Printer will not install

    Hello All,
I have a new PC - Win 7 Pro x64 - and installing Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro.  The printer refuses to install.  Gives error:
Warning 20225.  Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item: Adobe PDF Port and Printer.  The Adobe PDF  Printer may be unavailable.  GetLastError:  The operation completed successfully.
I tried the Detect and Repair under Help, and I get the same error.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I think that will be your solution. The printer driver is not compatible with newer systems, especially 64-bit ones.

  • ADOBE ACROBAT 8 Pro Upgrdade / WIN 7 Pro INSTALLING

I'm replacing my computer, moving from Windows XP pro to Windows 7 pro. To install Acrobat 8 Pro (this this an upgrade license) I should install step by step the following software: Adobe Acrobat 6 Std > Adobe 7 Pro > Adobe 8 Pro. This will work with Win 7 Pro ?
    Regards

    Hi B M I,
Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro is not compatible with Windows 7. I have seen cases where the installation goes fine. And with some workarounds you can get Adobe PDF printer installed as well. But Adobe still not recommend using Acrobat 8 on Windows 7. The reason why Acrobat 8 is not compatible is that the code of Acrobat 8 has not been tested on Windows 7 and it's not fully optimized for Windows 7.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro does not open after installing CS6

I successfully installed CS6 & Web Premium package. I found I could not open .pdf files so I reloaded Adobe Reader X and now realize I cannot open Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create .pdf files. Reinstalled Acrobat again this evening, restarted computer but same issue (Acrobe Acrobat X Pro - it does nothing when I try and open it). What am I missing? any insight is soooo appreciated!

After installation of the CS6 suite, everything worked great.  I am not sure the time frame it took to notice the problem in Acrobat X Pro the first time as the user does not use it everyday, but the program would not open.  PDF files would only open if you chose to open them in Acrobat Reader and would not open in Acrobat X Pro.  There were no error messages nor were there any error logs in the event viewer.  The program just would not open.  If that user logged out of Windows and I logged in, the program would open but only for a brief period and then would close without warning and never open again.
I checked the dates and from the time that I last fixed the error addressed in this thread until it happened again was exactly 30 days which would make me think that the trial would end but it is actually not a trial.  It is a licensed suite.
