Adobe Acrobat 8.14 MSI Fails
Hello,
I have been getting this wierd error when I try to install Adobe Acrobat 8.14 (Standard and Professional) using the MSI package that I created.
The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepositry\adobepdf.inf_c6a2c8ed. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.
This error happens regardless of who is trying to install the MSI pacakage (regular account or Administrator). I would really appreciate if any of you have seen this error and guide me.

I tried to repair it from the help menu same thing happens install failed. then install complete. when I do an update same thing happens it fails then complete.

Adobe Acrobat Pro XI downloads fail
I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI earlier today, but the download failed. When this happened with another software a few days ago, the company had me download the trial version, so I tried that with Pro XI but to no avail. How can I get what I paid for?

Please help-Adobe Acrobat X Pro disc failed to download program
I inserted the disc of my Adobe Creative Suite- Design Standard. Three programs downloaded, however the Adobe Acrobat X Pro, which is the reason I bought the entire package failed to download. I need this program to work for a project. How do I get it to download? Andy suggestions?

Uninstall and Reinstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro registration failed
I have uninstalled and reinstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on my new machine. My new machine runs Mac OS X 10.9.5. Every time I try to click on Help > Registration it returns an error message 'Registration Unsuccessful" "A problem was encountered while trying to send information over the Internet". I have no issue with Internet connection. Just wondering why this is happening and is there any way we can register this application.

This version of Acrobat was never tested on this version of Mac and is unsupported.
I would suggest you may upgrade to latest version of Acrobat and that will work fine. It has loads of new and enhanced features than Acrobat 8.

Printing long web page to Adobe Acrobat (or Primo PDF) fails and hangs at 48%
I'm using Firefox 18.0.1 and was viewing an html web page report that is essentially a large table. When printed, it is 28 pages. I printed to the Adobe PDF driver (I'm using CS6 so this is the latest Acrobat XI) it became stuck at 48% and, after waiting 30 minutes just for grins, I had to kill the browser. I tried again and it hang in the same place. I tried printing to my backup and good old standby, the Primo PDF printer driver and it had the same issue. I then launched IE9 and it printed without any problem so it points to Firefox.
I've worked around the issue, but wanted to get this in the discussion queue in the hope that it can pop on the radar and get fixed.
I am able to reproduce the issue at will, so let me know if there is any testing you need done.

Adobe Acrobat 8's Distiller fails in Snow Leopard
I saw this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10084009 , which deals with Acrobat 8.0 but doesn't say whether anyone has found a way to get Acrobat's distiller to work on Snow Leopard. All of Adobe's help systems unhelpfully point to this: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/509/cpsid_50981.html .
With that being said, does anyone know how to get Acrobat 8's distiller in working order in Snow Leopard? If not, has anyone heard whether Adobe's planning to issue a patch?No explanations how Templeton's Distiller 8 can work in snow leopard since it clearly doesn't with all the old workflows. You can no longer select the Adobe printer and you can't even drop a Word document on Distiller anymore.
The only way I've been able to find is to select "Save as Postscript" from the PDF menu and then drop the postscript file onto Distiller. (a true pain) -

Happily, they provided a replacement for at least some of the products - new download, new serial. See Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3. Note that your product is called Acrobat Standard, not Acrobat Reader Standard (if looking for it in lists this may help).

Adobe Acrobat DC - Save As failed to process this document. No file was created
When exporting a pdf to any of the file formats in the Export Menu (Microsoft Word, Spreadsheet, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc) except for the Image format, the error mentioned in this title comes up and no file is created.
This has happened to me since the XI version and was hoping that with the update to DC this issue would have been solved by now, since there is no posted solution anywhere at all.
I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, even tried creating PDF/X compatible files and executing various Preflight tasks as well. This happens with every file, no exception, from the most basic one-liners with text only to every other document I have attempted to export.
Please help, apparently the only remaining alternative would be to completely format the hard drive an reinstall everything from scratch (not even from a Time-Machine or comparable backup).

When try try to install Adobe Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.2 by clicking setup.exe.. am gettting error msg as .. "windows cannot find ...\....\...\appdata\local\temp\updatecol.exe". I also tried to install with acropro.msi and am getting error message as "Error 13.5. Error reading from file.. ...\...\..\adobe Acrobat XI\AcroPro.msi. Verify that the file exists and you can access it". am installing as administrator. trying this on Win7-64 bit i5 processor.. plz provide solution

When I Google this file 'Updatecol.exe' it gives information of it being a Trojan / malware.
Update the Antivirus software you have and run it to check if it detects it.
Try navigating to the location and try removing the file and then try reinstalling and check.

Hello,
i get an error when i try to update Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.06 to 11.0.07/11.0.08 or 11.0.09 with the msp files from the adobe download page.
In the end of the installation procedure the installer is doing a roll-back and the installation returns an error code 1603
- uninstall Adobe Acrobat and Reader , install Acrobat 11.0.0.0 and Update to 11.0.09 --> 1603
- uninstall Adobe Acrobat and Reader , execute the adobe cleaner tool and then install Acrobat 11.0.0.0 and Update to 11.0.09 --> 1603
- uninstall Reader und update Arobat --> 1603

the update from 11.0.0 to 11.0.06 works without problems on my computers.

=== Verbose logging stopped: 24.10.2014 10:38:15 ===Running into the same issue over here. It seems like it has to do with applying a transform to the installation, so it could be related with a particular setting put in place using the Adobe Customization Wizard.
It's really kind of hit or miss, because it appears to affect those with previous versions of Acrobat or Reader installed, but that isn't always the case.
Had this happen to systems that haven't had any sort of Adobe product installed prior.
It's always the same thing too. Error 1603 is spit out after it can't remove select files in C:\Windows\Installer
After digging through the system, the files that it's looking to delete aren't even there to begin with. -
Adobe Acrobat Pro cannot save as word doc
Adobe Acrobat Pro - Save as failed to process this document. No file was created.
The File
(1) The file has to be a PDF.
(2) The file has to be a PDF that is adequately ISO 32000 compliant (a 'good' PDF).
Number (2) is why, for most PDFs - most times, the export process chokes.
(& no being of file extension "pdf" does not mean the 'good' PDF was created)
The application.
Consider a cold reboot.
Ensure Acrobat is fully updated.
Ensure Acrobat version is compatible with OS
Consider doing an Acrobat "repair".
If one goes the deactivate/uninstall route consider using the "cleaner" tool.

Acrobat Updater plug-in fails to install
I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11 on Mac G5 Quad, 6.5GB RAM, and whenever I run the Adobe Updater for my CS3 programs, I get a dialog box that says, "A new version of the Adobe Updater is available for installation. Click OK to install it now.", so I do, and it downloads and starts to mount a dmg or something, then I get an error message, "Adobe Acrobat Updater plug-in failed to install.", so I never know if it updated the rest of the Suite or not, can't find any info about this. Has anyone found the answer to this? Thanks! :)

I have had the same problem for months now and cannot figure out how to solve this. I have seen another discussion with the same topic "Adobe Acrobat updater plug-in failed to install" but am unable to reply to the discussion for some reason. I'm new to using the forum.
Someone in that discussion (Donald Raymond) posted a command, but I don't understand how to effect the command nor how to reach him to ask him to clarify. The discussion link is here:

I wish that Adobe would address this issue and give a valid solution. Otherwise, I'm unable to update my CS3 products on Mac OS. I also tried to install a download of a new Adobe update manager, but that didn't solve the issue.
