Adobe Acrobat 8 - Inserting pages

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and for some
reason when I insert a page it does not insert that particular page where it is suppose to. For example, I went to page 13 and inserted
page 14 after page 13 and it actually inserted as page 4. Any ideas
as how I can fix this?

I am having a similar problem. When I highlight the pages I want, in the correct order and enter the pages as a group under a single cover page, the pages reverse the order on the insertion. Example: Tables - Insert tables 1 through 8 after the Tables page. The inserted pages start with table 8 and end with table 1 - in the reverse order. I can, obviously, inset them one at a time, but it should be faster to insert them as a group.
Since the tables are named table 1, table 2, etc. and that is how I select them, they should go in the right order. This seems to be a recent problem which I have not had in the past with inserting pages into a document.

I would define how to position Title, URL, number of page and date also margin left, right, top and bottom. This element in other browser Mozzilla, Explorer is defined in "Page Preview".
Acrobat don't have possibility to set this parameter..

Adobe Acrobat Pro X - Pages options grayed out on PDFs with digital signatures

When we apply a signature to a PDF in Acrobat Pro X, it disables all the options (e.g., rotate, delete, replace, etc.) except for "Extract". This was not an issue with Acrobat v8. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

That's because all of the operations you mentioned that are disabled, if run, would invalidate the signature. The bug was in version 8 in that we should never allowed the user to modify the signed bytes and break the signature.

Making a PDF with LiveCycle then being able to edit pages, insert pages, delete pages, attach files to document, be readable in Adobe Reader etc.

We have been working for some time with LiveCycle to creat a documents and have experienced a host of problems with the end product.
1. Images inserted into the LiveCycle PDF document often come up as "broken links" after editing the document and resaving it.
2. Documents will not display in Acrobat reader unless a digital signature is applied to them and the document is re-saved.
3. After making the document, we are unable to use Adobe Pro to insert pages, delete pages, or insert files into the document as attachments.
The end state was to use the simplicity of LiveCycle to create a document and do most of the hard work, and then save it as a PDF document that could be easily edited with Adobe Pro. It has proven difficult, to say the least, to figure out how to make this work.

2- It only seems rational that if I make a form with LiveCycle that I should be able to view it with Adobe Reader or Adobe Pro.
Making a form with LiveCycle to be distrubuted to personnel internally that have Adobe Reader and Adobe Pro and cannot open it without it having a digital signature field in it that has just recently been signed just doesn't make sense. Nor does it seem to make sense to have to purchase 200 additional licenses just for LiveCycle so that people can open a PDF that was made with LiveCycle. If I make it in LiveCycle and only people with LiveCycle can open it, what is the purpose of making it to begin with?
3- This also totally sucks. In a standard Adobe Doc I can at least attach documents to it?
So, what, exactly then, is the purpose of LiveCycle if the only benefit it seems to provide is ease of creation, but the end product has way less functionality?
And how do I go about contacting an Adobe rep on the phone in regards to this without getting "there is no support for this product, go to Adobe.com"
We have millions of dollars of Adobe software and can't get support other than hunting and pecking in these forums? Really?

Icons for Insert/Delete Pages to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.

I want to add icons for Insert Pages and Delete Pages so that I have quicker access than clicking on the Document option or the Navigation Panel. Used to have this on my old version of Adobe, but it was recently updated at work and I can't figure out how to put them back.

Adobe Acrobat 7: Can not insert pages, changing the document: Not Allowed, but Security Method set t

In Adobe 7, I need to add some pdf pages to the end of a document, but the insert pages (as well as all other items under Document> are greyed out.
On the document properties\ Security> the document restrictions summary says "Changing the Document: Not Allowed", but the Security Method in the drop down above is set to "No Security"

If there are form fields, then whoever added them probably used the forms menu, not the Acrobat form fields. Thus the PDF was converted to Designer and you are out of luck. The FORMS button found in various places in Acrobat 7 and latter takes you to Designer, not the Acrobat form tools. The latter are located in the tools menu.

Can you give inserted pages a unique page number in Acrobat?

Example:
I have a pdf with 100 pages of various documents arranged in chronological order and numbered 1-100 ('The Bundle')
I have written separate document which make reference to various page numbers in the pdf. ('The Referring Document')
I then get another 2 page pdf ('The Insert') which I want to insert in the Bundle so it remains in chronological order. Let's say I will need to insert it after page 47.
I do not want to renumber the Bundle 1-102 after I have put in The Insert as this will mean that the page numbers in the Referring Document will have to be edited to take into account that all the page numbers after page 47 are now different.
What I would like to do is to renumber The Insert: 47a and 47b. This means that the inserted pages have unique page identifiers and I do not have to edit all the pages in the Referring Document.
Question:
Is it possible to automate page numbering for Inserts in the way described above in Adobe Acrobat? The example above describes a simple situation. The reality is that there can be many inserts with many pages to each of them.

1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - Add Header & Footer.
2. Select the font and size, etc, place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click the "Insert Page Number" button, and click OK.
Or you can choose the following option as well.

I have Adobe Pro 9 and I can't insert pages into a PDF created by Adobe Pro 8

I've looked at the other discussions about not being able to insert pages into a PDF, and tried all the suggestions, but to no avail. I think the problem is that the original PDF was created in Adobe 8, and I have Adobe 9. When I open the PDF in Adobe Pro 9, the security screen says that editing is not allowed, and the screen is greyed out so that I can't change the settings. When I open the same PDF in Adobe Pro 8, the security screen says "No Security".
I also checked the "Documents" screen in Edit -> Preferences, and changing the "View Documents in PDF/A" to Never doesn't help.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

That would be a question for Adobe support. Firefox does advise users when their Acrobat plugin is out of date, but the actual update is done by Adobe.

IMac. Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.3.1. Since I installed Yosemite, cannot insert a pdf document into a pdf document. What's my upgrade?

Your version of Acrobat is quite old and not compatible with any current OS, so problems are to be expected. It is too old to qualify for an upgrade as well, so if you want the current version (XI) then you need to purchase a new license, which you can do via the Adobe Products Page.

How do I allow the user of the form to insert JPEG files when filling out the form and how do I allow the user to add more fields or groups of fields as needed.

The type of form yo're describing is possible if you create it in LiveCycle Designer. It may also be possible in Acrobat, but there are certain restrictions. The type of form is known as a dynamic XFA form. LiveCycle Designer is not available on the Mac, so you'd have to install the software on a Windows machine and learn how to create this type of form. The LiveCycle Designer forum here is a good resource for getting more help.
Reader 11 now supports creating new pages using templates with a form that you create in Acrobat (Acroform). This requires some JavaScript programming. It also adds support for using a button to display a page from a PDF, which can be an image or anything else a PDF can be. So the user would click a button, be prompted to import a page from an existing PDF, and the button (or a different button) displays it as its icon. This would require the user to convert the image to PDF first, which is relatively easy these days (e.g., using Preview on the Mac, or Word on Mac/Windows). This too involves a bit of JavaScript programming, but it's very simple and straightforward.

Why can't I insert pages in Adobe XI anymore?

Since I've downloaded updates for Adobe Reader XI now I can't insert pages or delete pages. Am I doing something wrong or did they change the easy way I was doing it before?

You never, never could insert pages in Adobe Reader. But you could in Adobe Acrobat.
My guess is that you had Adobe Acrobat, but were invited to download Adobe Reader. This destroyed your Acrobat install, which you will probably want to put back if you can find the disks and serial number, or have a suitable full system backup.

Acrobat did an update and now the interface is a bit different and I no longer have the ability to delete/insert pages. How do I regain this ability?

Thanks for the reply. It helped me debug the situation, like I should have been able to do on my own (to my slight embarrassment). Somehow I must have downloaded the Acrobat Reader DC (don't know exactly what this is) and it became my default app for opening .pdf files. When I opened Adobe Acrobat and opened the file I wanted to modify within that everything is fine. Thanks!

Playing inserted avi files in Adobe Acrobat 9 or later

A user has inserted avi files into Adobe and it always worked up to version 8.1.
Any version later than that, the avi files will not play anymore.
Is there any way to make them play or will all his files need converted to another source?
Converting them all to a different format would be quite the task as there are many videos involved.

You can not do that using Adobe Acrobat 9. Adobe never made a create PDF add-on for Firefox for use with Adobe Acrobat 9. They created a Firefox add-on for use with Acrobat X, but currently that one does not work with Firefox 4 though Adobe are working on an update.
