Adobe Acrobat 8 Isn't Working Right on my New iMac Either
Adobe Acrobat 8 has two problems on my iMac. The lesser problem comes when I go into the Print command and click "Preview." I get a message that says that Preview isn't supported.
The greater problem just cropped up as I was writing about my problems with Quicktime and Real Player: Acrobat tried to update itself and then gave me a message that says, "Cannot overwrite file /Users/(myname)/Documents/Update5/AdobeUpdater/acrobat8pro-en_US/AUMProduct.dmg . The file maybe be locked or you may not have sufficient access rights. Please make sure you have write access to this file." Can anyone help? Thanks.

That's not a problem with Acrobat. The system is saying that you have a file named AUMProduct.dmg in place already, and you don't have permission to update it. You need to change the permissions on that file so that you can update it, or to use an account which has update permission. Or it might just be locked and you need to unlock it. Locate it using the Finder (you have the complete path to the file listed above) and see what permissions are on the file and whether or not it is locked.
You might also just put the entire Update5 folder into the Trash and try updating again.

I had Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard on my computer & it was working with Adobe Reader 8, but don't remember what the version it was.
I was using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard to scan very old family pictures & documents & I realize that this version of Acrobat is outdated.
To make a long story short, my computer had crashed, so we built another computer & just replaced the hard drive. When I went to Adobe, I had to download the newer version of Reader 9.0 & it didn't work with Acrobat 6.0., so I removed Adobe Reader 9 & I found Adobe Reader 8.0 & have downloaded the patches, so now I have Adobe Reader 8.2.4 back on board.
Thank you.Adobe doesn't recommend any version of Reader with any version of Acrobat on Windows. It will cause problems. It just is a matter of how and when. The problem has to do with shared resources causing conflicts. If you have Acrobat 8, you can update it to Acrobat 8.2.4. You must apply the updates sequentially.

My Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard stopped working after I performed an msconfig. I get the following message: "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling this product..." I installed this on Jan. 7, 2010 and I have since misplaced the disk.

I am a newbie...and I think I did a big no-no as my Ipad isn't working. I synced it to a second computer at work which is a new Imac after already syncing to my pc at home with Itunes. Now it says it can't restore and can't get it to open, getting error messages but can't fix myself. Can anyone help??
iPad can connect only in one iTunes Library. If you want to connect it to a iTunes Library then you have to erase it. You can erase it from iTunes. Make sure you iPad doesn't have a password, or if it has a password make sure that you connect to the computer and enter the password of your iPad

Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Stopped working correctly
I have a legal licensed version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard that has worked fine for several years. Suddenly and possibly after one of the not so helpful updates, I can no longer delete, insert or extract pages. The delete option shows but is grayed out and the other options do not even show as a possibility anymore. I tried: repair, reinstall, deleting all version and reinstalling but nothing has helped. I truly need this function. Contact with Adobe directly and there answer was "ask someone who can help" (ok a paraphrase for sure but basically they said go ask the community). Nice right? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
They never responded and I found no thread providing me with a fix. I wound up having to pay for the newest version.

NavigateToURL isn't working right
I need an array of web addresses to be used by navigateToURL. I also need them to open one after another using a timer, but when I set them on a timer
it won't work right. My problem is making all the webpages use the same window once the browser is opened by the first one (it's a local, stand-alone .swf). If I use a for loop instead, it goes through all of them in the same window, but too fast to see any of them. I have these lines of code in a TIMER event:

That "_self" parameter doesn't seem to work when navigateToURL is in a timer. After looking at the help section, I think I need to use the specific name of the window I want the new address to use (for the window parameter, where "_self" is now), but how do I do that and will it work in a timer?
I have a feeling that I might need some server-side scripting to make this work, but I'm trying to avoid that if flash can do it on its own. Also, my default browser is FireFox. I want the same window to be used for each website because there'll be so many links in the addresses array that opening one window for each will bog down your computer and it's likely the user will leave this program running when they aren't using their computer. Thanks in advance for anyone who can answer this problem.no, changing it to "_blank" will make it eventually open tons of windows (when the addresses array is longer). I only want one window to be open in the browser at all times. Pop-up blocker isn't a problem because I've turned it off and I'm using a standalone .swf anyway. I think I need the "window's name" instead of "_self" or "_blank", but what exactly is that? The previous web address, like "http://www.google.com"? Or is the window given some other kind of name I don't know about?

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro not working (at all) following update
I have been have issues with my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for a few weeks now. It stopped allowing me to view, create and print pdfs a few weeks ago. As I teach part time online at a university- I commonly use pdf's to provide information to my students. I also use pdf's to transfer data back and for from my work computer - for my full time job - to my home computer and back again. Not having this availability is really hindering my work.
My computer runs on Windows 7 with a 64 bit operating system. Up until a few weeks ago I had no problems. I'm thinking an update may have gone through that caused the issues.
In order to reload my full program I had to completely reformat one of my drives which I had remnants of an old adobe version on it- unfortunately, I did not realize that outlook was still pointing to this drive so I lost a lot of data in the long run- needless to say this adobe issue is has been more than just a nuisance to me.
Once the drive was clean- I was able to reload my software for Adobe XI Pro. It worked perfectly after I loaded it. At least I was able to breath a sigh of relief. The next day (yesterday) I was informed that some security updates were needed on the program- considering the age of my disks- It seemed plausible and I received the updates. This evening, as I was setting up my course for winter semester- I tried to open a pdf- and low and behold- I am back where I was- I can't do anything again. What is going on here? I need this program to work- yesterday! Actually I needed it weeks ago when I started realizing I had issues.
There has to be a fix out there for this problem- and I can't be the only one with this problem. I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone has!

Thanks for the suggestion- but unfortunately this doesn't work- the reason being is that "Repair" is not option.
I took a snapshot and attached it of what is available for me when I click on Adobe and as you can see- Repair is not an option.
I'm getting to the point of frustration- I will probably uninstall adobe again and refuse to get any updates for it. I honestly do not know what else to do.
Without adobe I can't post assignments for my college students to my website. Winter term starts tomorrow and I am very much behind schedule because of this problem.
I can't be the only person having this issue.
Again- I do appreciate the suggestion. Wish it would have worked. -

This seems to be licensing issue to me.
Please try the following steps and let me know if that helped:
Delete all the files from following folders:
C:\PrgroamData\Adobe\SLStore
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD
Then launch Acrobat, Accept EULA and enter the serial number again.
