Adobe Acrobat 8 - MS Visual C ++ Runtime Library Runtime Error!

ALl of a sudden as of yesterday I am getting the following error when opening Word 2003
MS Visual C ++ Runtime Library Runtime Error!
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Winword.EXE
I have disabled the Adobe PDF addin, which successfully has suppressed the error. The client would like to continue using this toolbar.
I have done the following
Deleted Normal.dot file
Ran repair on Microsoft Office Basic 2003
Ensured Office SP3 and all latest patches applie
Restarted computer, looked for Adobe updates (none available)
Ran Detect / Repair on Adobe Acrobat 8.1.3 which successfully re-installed AdobePDF Word Plugin
Uninstalled all Adobe Products
Restarted computer / reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro
I have also tried renaming the .dll file.
What are my next steps?
Thanks in advance

Oligarlicky,
Have you sent PaulRB a private message with your crash logs and reports? Try that out and see if you can get a response (make sure you reference this thread).
If you don't hear back, I would recommend reposting your issue in new thread with some more details specific to your application. This thread has been relatively inactive and you might get better exposure by starting fresh.

    Point audition at another folder into which you put your plugins one at a time until you find the one that gives the problem. Or you can do a hashing thing (copy half in, see if it's ok, if not, delete half, try again, etc etc).

  • I tried downloading the new update for itunes I get these error messages: Visual C   runtime library R6034 an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly Error 7 windows error 1114.  What should I do to correct this?

    Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • J2re-1_4_1_01-windows-i586.exe  Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtim

    I am using Netscape 6.2.1, Windows 98
    I download Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition 1.4.1_01
    * Download j2re-1_4_1_01-windows-i586.exe .
    Filesize = 8,015,928 bytes.
    When I looked in the directory the file was listed as
    j2re-1_4_1_01-windows-i586
    7,829KB
    Does the file downloaded size discrepency have significance?
    Double clicking on the file activated the process:
    "After the InstallShield Wizard
    Setup Status
    Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1_01 Setup is performing the requested operations."
    After that function appered to finish with a 100% complete, I received the following error:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\PROGRAM FILES\JAVA\J2RE1.4.1_01\LIB\UNPACK.EXE
    abnormal program termination
    OK"
    Note, I may have installed Visual C++ in the past but have never used it. Does this error imply there are some missing links to Visual C++ that have confused and caused an error?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi, crlare,
    The official file size
    8,015,928 bytes
    = (8,015,928 / 1024) kilobytes, since 1 kbyte = 1024 bytes
    = 7828.0546875 kbytes
    = 7829 kbytes after rounding up
    Therefore your downloaded file seems to have the correct size. To make a better check,
    1. right click on your downloaded file;
    2. select Properties;
    3. check the size in bytes in brackets against the official size in bytes; the "bytes used" is the actual space allocated to store the data.
    The Visual C++ runtime error is caused by a faulty installation of the Java bundle, which could have arisen due to interference by other applications that are open during the installation of the Java bundle. e.g. Interference by virus protection software running in the background. This error has also been known to occur in the installations of other programs.
    To fix the problem, uninstall the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) you have installed, and reinstall it with all non-critical applications closed:
    1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, select Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1_01 (or something similar), click on the Add/Remove button to uninstall the JRE.
    3. Reboot your system.
    4. Close all non-critical applications, including background running programs such as antivirus programs and Microsoft Task Scheduler. This can be checked/done by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del, selecting each item except Explorer (and Systray), and clicking End Task for each.
    5. Reinstall the JRE.
    6. Reboot your system.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by two factors:
    1.Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.
    2.Software problem.
    If the issue is caused by #1, you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9B2DA534-3E03-4391-8A4D-074B9F2BC1BF&displaylang=en
    If the issue still persists after installing above package, the issue should be a software problem. I suggest you take a clean boot check whether it is a software conflict issue. If not, it is still recommended to address the problem with manufacturer support. Thank you for your understanding.
    For your convenience:
    Clean Boot
    =============================
    1. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility.
    2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
    3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
    4. Restart the computer and test the issue.
    Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK".
    Please monitor the system in the Clean Boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit.
    Hope it helps.

  • Visual C ++ Runtime Library, Runtime Error.. I keep getting this message can anybody help!

    Visual C ++ Runtime Library, Runtime error..I keep getting this message can anybody help please !!

    What is the /exact/ error?  What are your system details?  Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit version of the software (if your OS supports it)?
    I assume the message you are getting is about the UI runtimes every application needs some version of, which is typically supplied by Visual Studio, though there are redist versions bundled with many apps.
    Unfortunately, Windows library management can be a bit of DLL hell (which Microsoft is making an effort to address in Windows 7.)  There are many, many references to this with potential fixes, in Microsoft KB articles.
    But the first step is good information so you can work from the known to the unknown.

  • MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error

    Hi folks,
    I've recently come across the error message:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error!
    Program: Program: C:\...\LabVIEW.exe
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
    This occurs when I try to open the Interactive Test Panel from the project tree for a Softmotion axis. I'm using two 9514 modules using hardware and setup specified here: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375516b.pdf. This is only a recent issue as I have previously been able to use the Interactive Test Panel for this setup. The only actions I have taken recently were installing Xilinx 12.4 SP1 and configuring/running the 9514 Basic Move (FPGA) example for my setup. I have tried to reinstall the NI Visual C++ Redistributable Package (x86) to no avail. Any insight as to how I can resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to avoid a clean install of Labview and/or Windows.

  • Windows 7 Error Message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error.... Followed by Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working

    I am running a system that is not quite 6 months old, which is loaded with Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit.
    The error message that I get is as follows: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.  Runtime error!  Program C:\windows\Explorer.exe.  This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the
    application's support team for more information.
    Once I respond to that message, I get a message that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working.  Then I get "Windows Explorer is re-starting"
    I don't know if the next event is related - today, immediately after getting the message above, I got a pop-up that said "An update to Adobe Flash Player is available" - and I am given the option of installing it or not.  Today, I did not install
    the update - although I recall having accepted this update in the past (again, I don't know if the two situations always occur together).
    Is there some help I can be provided to correct this problem?  I have looked at several related topics in this database, but have not found anything that seems to directly relate to my question.

  • Acrobat XI Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime Missing

    Hi Fellow Acrobat Fans!
    I tried a couple test deployments of Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.03 by GPO.
    It doesn't install on a couple desktops, just unistalls old versions of Acrobat X.  Only a generic error 1274, 2 and 1603 in the eventvwr's of the Windows 7 desktops.   When I try to manually launch the .MSI file I get: Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x64) Runtime Missing.
    After installing Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Runtime manually on the desktops, the GPO works.  Not sure if this related or a fluke.
    I didn't see anything mentioned in the Enterprise Admin Guide except the IGNOREVC10RT switch.   Have I missed something in the Customization Wizard??   What are you folks doing to avoid this problem?  Anyone have suggestions on how to deploy Visual C++ 2010 or  ignore it?
    I didn't notice this issue with our Acrobat 9 or X GPOs.
    Our fleet runs 32 bit MS Office and we do not use Outlook clients (migrated to GMail) so I don't think these 'application functionality' would be important anyways.
    Thanks
