Adobe Acrobat 8 phone activation

I have Adobe Acrobat 8.0 installed on a Windows 2003 server. It was working fine, but is now prompting again for activation.
The activation over the internet option does not work.
Phone activation appears to no longer be supported.
The url qouted in the recorded message no longer exists.
The live chat person, said this was a technical issue, was unable to help and directed me here.
I have a valid product serial number and activation code, but am being promted for an authorisation code, which I was hoping to be given over the phone. Can anyone assist?
Best regards
Bob

Douvaine, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader are 2 different applications. In which application are your getting this error 93:8?
93:8 denotes that your serial number is invalid. Please type the serial key again and check.
Else, give us more details about your issue like your OS, exact error message, application name and version, etc.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Activation

I have a question that may be considered out of the ordinary. The computer I use runs in a Dual Boot configuration where you have 2 different operating systems on one computer, however you can only use one OS at a time. There is absolutely no possibility that you can have both Operating Systems functional at the same time.
My question is if I were to install Adobe Acrobat on each operating system, would that be considered the same as installing the program on two different computers or would it be considered as a single installation since there is zero possibility both installations could be run at the same time?

    tanvil,
First I think were getting off the original question I asked. My question is built around using the Acrobat software in a Windows Dual Boot environment and not a Mac Parallels environment. I do not own a Mac nor am I familiar with it's operation but in doing some research on the Parallels desktop that "Test Screen Name" asked about, I found that "  With Parallels Desktop for Mac, you can seamlessly run both Windows and Mac OS X applications side-by-side without rebooting." You positively cannot do that in a Dual Boot environment. In order to get to the alternate operating system you must reboot your computer therefore making the first operating system and Adobe Acrobat unavailable to you. the only thing that would available to you once the alternate Operating  System is up and running would be and data files you created while you were in the first OS an if those data files are stored on lets say a separate folder or a different hard disk.
I am also not talking about using Windows XP Mode under Windows 7 Professional, which I am running, because in that case both environments could be accessed at the same time.
Again having no knowledge of the Mac environment I do know that under the Windows environment you can install the product on two different machines. My problem is I have 2 machines running Windows 7 Professional. One of those machines is configured to use a dual boot environment with Windows XP Professional as the alternate OS. The reason for this is I have several applications that are used almost daily that will not run under Windows 7 even in compatibility mode, and they also will not run efficiently using Windows XP Mode in Windows 7. There are times when I'm in the Windows XP environment that I need to create data files using Adobe Acrobat and I cannot do it unless I reboot to Windows 7 thereby losing the data.
Bottom line I agree with your statement " On your Windows and Mac systems running on a single Mac using Parallels desktop , you can install it on both the Mac and also the windows side. In that case , it will be considered that you have used it on two computers , although you have both the OS installed on the same hardware i.e. Mac in your case." In the case you site, both systems are accessible at the same time whereas if you are running a true Dual Boot under Windows, and not using Windows XP Mode in Windows 7, you cannot access both Operating Systems at the same time. You have to reboot your computer into the alternate OS.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone from the Adobe Staff who may be monitoring this thread to say what Adobe's interpretation of my question would be.
I do however greatly appreciate your response because it gave me the opportunity to find out a liitle bit about a Mac environment especially the Parallels Desktop mentioned by Test Screen Name.

  • Adobe acrobat 8 activation code needed

I have had to reinstall acrobat 8 on my computer following a reset to factory settings. .  I cannot obtain an authorisation code from the Adobe support  folks - I was told by the agent that I had OEM software and despite the fact that the serial number is registered in my adobe account they will not provide any assistance.   I was told to check out the Adobe forums for help.   My serial number is 1016-11016-1016-1408-4566-6180-0356-8901.  Any advice would be most appreciated

Please remove your S/N ASAP. By posting it, you risk never being able to use it again as others use it instead. I am not sure what you need to activate. Normally only the S/N is needed.

  • Authorization Code for Adobe Acrobat 8

I am trying to gtet my Adobe Acrobat 8 activated.  Due to a system crash I was unable to deactivate my software.  The activation process within the software failed.  When I called the automated system would not give me an authorization code, and when I hit the option to speak with an agent the message stating that phone activations are no longer accessible.  The website adobe.com/go/activatge is not available either.  I know this is an old product, but how can I get an authorization code to allow me use of the software?

    Hi Evans01,
Please contact Adobe Support using the following link: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=acrobat&topic=serial-number-issues-or-activati ng-my-product

Customer service is terrible. They don't give us the tools to help ourselves, so we are FORCED to call their service number. Then we get transferred 3 times, then disconnected - just to have to repeat the process again. Adobe recorded phone messages advises "due to high call volume, estimated wait time is 12 minutes". An HOUR AND A HALF later while still waiting on hold, I get disconnected.
I've tried the customer portal. They CLOSED my case without resloving anything or even commenting!
Where is Adobe's accountability?  They don't mind charging high prices for their products, and they certainly wouldn't accept me telling them they'll have to call my 800# and wait on hold in order to get their payment. But once we purchase their products we are a prisoner of this process. There is no web interface to deactivate products. Hard drive crashes do not permit the manual deactivation on our end.
Adobe needs to either answer their phone without disconnecting me, answer their case number number without closing it for no reason, or give us - the customer - the tools to deactivate our own products. If activation can be done over the internet upon installation - then deactivation can't be much more difficult.
I honestly can't imagine how it can be legal to sell a product then cripple an owner from using it.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Activation problem

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard.  I purchased the original product several years ago and installed it on a personal laptop (Windows XP) in order to work from home.  The XP laptop has died and I'm trying to reinsatall Acrobat from the original disk on a new Windows 7 laptop.  After entering the Serial # and the Activation #, I cannot get the Authorization # in order to proceed with the installation.
I have not had any luck finding a phone number for anyone at Adobe to speak with, so I'm tossing my problem to the Adobe users.  Anyone care to pick up my fumble?

    Steve,
Thanks for your quick reply.  Before I try to uninstall my original version of Acrobat 7.0 . . . I have some concerns, if you care to weigh in.
After purchasing the Adobe 7.0 software, I installed it on a Dell 9300 laptop (Windows XP) and have been using it with no problems ever since.  Although the software still does everything I need it to, the laptop has been sick for some time.  I'm afraid that an attempt to uninstall the program may expedite it's total demise.  Should the uninstall process fail, I don't want to be caught in the position of NOT being allowed to reinstall it on my new Windows 7 laptop.
I no longer need the program to work from home since I am now retired.  However, I have spent many hours since retiring using the Adobe program to scan, edit, and file personal records and eliminate paper.
What options do I have for reinstalling the software IF the uninstall fails?  I have the original disk, key code, etc, but for fear of losing my authorization on the Windows XP laptop, I have not yet tried to install the program on a 2nd PC.
Anything you can do to keep this old brain from facing a big learning curve with the latest software is greatly appreciated.

  • Having trouble re-activating Adobe Acrobat 8.  URGENT Time limit issues.

Hi, I'm getting nowhere fast. I have a time limit to get this sorted. Originally there was a 5 day period, now 3 days left before my Adobe Acrobat 8 no longer works. It's been installed and working fine for a long time now without issue.
Now it reports there is an error in the activation and requires me to reactivate. It goes through the motions and at the end states that it isn't detecting the internet is on. It asks me to retry by internet or contact by phone. The phone service in Australia is no longer available. The activation page on this site doesn't have the error code I have and I can't seem to figure out where you reactivate from the site anyway. My error code is (Repair 160:41).
I tried calling the US number and Optus said it is no longer valid. I am tearing my hair out trying to sort this out. I need a contact number so that I can get it sorted via phone because obviously I cannot try again via the internet. I'm wondering if I uninstall my copy and then reinstall my copy whether that will sort the issue out. Has anyone out there been through this same issue and hopefully found a solution?
    Kind regards
    Sandra

    Hi Rave
Thanks for your time answering my query. I had a good look at the page but before I go ahead and do some of the complicated processes that are quite complex in START, RUN, I thought I'd just double check with you. I only bought the one program - Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. That's all - none of the Creative Suite that your link seems to be about.
Can you confirm to me that the CS5.5 and later programs has exactly the same instructions that I am to follow as for JUST Acrobat 8 Professional alone?
Looking forward to hearing from you.  Thanks, Sandra

  • Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, it cost more than €2,000. When I recently tried to re-install it due to having to reformat my hard drive I could no longer activate it over the phone or online.
When I rang the help number it directed me to the downloadable versions that don't require activation. Great! UNTIL I realise Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional is only available for Windows as a download.
Where is the download for the Mac Version as it not included in the bundle either. This is extremely urgent. Thank you in advance.

    To maswatson
The answer to your question of March 12, 2015 – "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere. That doesn't mean it's not available to you, however. I have successfully installed several CS2 programs and Acrobat 7, on two computers.
The hard drive on my MacBook Air crashed recently. After a new drive was installed I had to reload various programs, including CS2 Premium. I used the original disks and the serial number on the package.
When I tried to open InDesign, however, I got an "Activate Using the Internet" message which led to an "Activation Server Unavailable" message that gave me three options, the last of which was "Click the Phone Activation button to activate the product over the phone." I called the toll-fee number and heard the following recorded message: "We no longer support activation issues over the phone."
So I searched the Web, figuring that others had encountered and solved this problem. Eventually, I found "Creative Suite Help / Download Acrobat 7 and OS2 Products" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I also found "How to Fix Adobe’s “Licensing for this product has stopped working” Error by Aaron Nelsen at http://hijinksinc.com/2010/01/20/how-to-fix-adobes-licensing-for-this-product-has-stopped- working-error/. He writes "… you MUST delete adobe_00080000_tsf.data and adobe_00080000_event.log" which is found in /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet. So I did that.
I also deleted Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 from my Applications folder. I did not delete Acrobat 7 or GoLive.
After clicking on "English" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#, I downloaded Illustrator CS2 for Mac, InDesign CS2 for Mac, and Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I was not able to download Acrobat 7 because the only option is for Windows. As you know, there is no download for Mac.
Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 all opened without any problems. When I tried to open GoLive, I got the same "Activate Using the Internet" message I got at the outset, when I tried to open InDesign. I proceeded, and now have a 30-day trial. The same limitation has been placed on Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, because I downloaded them, whereas GoLive was installed from the CS2 disks.
Next, I opened Acrobat 7.0 Professional – the one installed from the original CS2 disks. It works fine.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want Acrobat 7.0 Professional, install Creative Suite using original CS2 disks, then delete the other CS2 programs from those disks. If you want Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, and others, download them from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I am hoping this explanation will help you. I feel great sympathy for you because the "answers" you received have been obtuse and clearly less than helpful. (I requested a "Yes," "No," or "Don't know" answer to a very straightforward question, but didn't get it.)
My experience tells me that the answer to your question "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere, but you don't need to download it. It's on the original disks and it does not require activation. That's why Adobe did not included it with the Windows version at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I hope this answers your question, solves your problem, and ends your frustration.

  • Using Adobe Acrobat XI, uploaded my form from my Word. How do I format spaces for SSN, DOB, Phone number?

I'm trying to create a new client form how do I format the spaces numerically for DOB, SSN and phone number??? HELP! Can I do this on Adobe Acrobat XI????

Not sure what you mean by uploaded form. Did you print to the Adobe PDF printer, use the Save As Adobe PDF, use Save As PDF or XPS, use the Acrobat menu in WORD, or try to open the word file in Acrobat directly? Assuming you printed to the Adobe PDF printer, then you select the TOOLS>Interactive and select the Form Wizard. Otherwise, you simply use the tools under the interactive menu. You might find the following video useful: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-create-pdf-forms-from-existing-documents. The form tools are under the interactive menu (I could give better direction if I was at home where I have AA XI).

Adobe can unlock licenses, this is a normal thing for them to do. You must contact them directly, there is no trick or other way.

  • Where do I download and activation version of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 professional?

I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.  When I am at the download site for activation I only see Acrobat 7.0 Standard and 8.0 Professional.

    Kglad,
Thank you for your answer.  However, when I follow the link in the instructions for the English version, it brings me to this URL. http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads.  The list of downloads does not include Acrobat Pro 7.0 When I download, this is the Acrobat Standard version, as titled.

You need to go to the respective machines and launch Acrobat and check if it prompts for serial number.
