Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 Update Question

I just applied the update to take adobe acrobat from 9.3.3 to 9.3.4, but my Acrobat.exe didn't update to the correct version number.  Acrobat.dll did, as did the support info and the various registry keys went to 9.3.4.  Can someone provide some assistance as to why the Acrobat.exe would not update to the correct version?  I've ran the patch as administrator downloaded from adobe.com, from the Check for new versions with in acrobat with the same results.  i plan on trying as a startup script to reduce the amount of processes in use, but i don't think that will help.  Any ideas?
Thanks.
Mike C.

Did you reboot after applying the Update? I had to when I applied the 9.3.4 update.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.3.2 Update - can no longer see PCs on network (e.g. ping/offer remote assistance)

Hello - I just did the Adobe Acrobat 9.3.2 update in two different offices and the strangest thing happened while finishing 4 computers today.
I did the restart after installing the last update - 9.3.2 - and I can not connect to the computers again.
The workstations are Windows XP Pro SP3..on a SBS2003 network.  The computers restart and the users can log back into the network and have no problems accessing network resources, Internet, etc.  The only problem is that I can not ping the workstations from the server...I can not connect to the workstations from the server either.  It's very strange how this has happened to the last 4 workstations today - when I had no problems with the other workstations yesterday.
I had the users restart the workstations several times - no luck - even shutdown/restart - no luck.
I am not in the offices to troubleshoot further in person....but I can have somebody be my "hands" onsite if need be.
Has anyone come across this before and know how to fix it - fingers crossed!!
    Thanks!
    Tammy

Make sure that registry values below are not set to 1:

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Installing Update

I have just needed to re-install Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    After the install I had to complete all following updates v 9.10, 9.11, 9.12, 9.13, 9.20, 9.30, 9.31, 9.32, 9.33, 9.34, 9.40 and 9.41
A rather lenghty process but did this to make sure all the elements of Acrobat have been installed.
    My question
is is necessary to install all the update like I have - or is it possible to choose the latest available update?
Probably a good question for Adobe Technical to answer.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 and I Filter Question

    Hello,
I have Adobe Acrobat 8 and I Filter 6.0 installed on a WinXP machine. I am also using Windows Search 4.0. My question is on how to create an embedded index of PDF files so that I may search with a keyword through 100 PDF files as an example. This is actually my last resort after searching thoroughly on the web. I have read articles ranging from editing the registry to how to create a single index within Adobe Acrobat for a single PDF file. Again I am looking to create one index that consists of multiple PDF files. If any can help me I would very much appreciate it. I just say to myself that at some point in time some programmer must have said to himself, can I search for a keyword through 20 PDF files on a desktop system or server?
    Thank you,
    Peter

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 no more updates?

My company has about 50 licenses of Adobe Acrobat 9 (updated to 9.5.5). For a while updates were fast and furious. I checked their website today and saw that V 9.5.5 was "Latest and FINAL release. This patch fixes specific security issues." Does this mean that there will be no more security patches for this version? If that's the case then I see this as a vulnerability and will have to either update to the latest version or move to a different program. The way I read it that's all for this version. Thanks for any assistance.

Typically, there will be no more regular updates. If a critical security fix is needed, they will sometimes release such, but no more fixes for bugs and other things. In general, you will probably not see any more updates. Be sure you have backups of the software and SNs. If folks upgrade to new computer systems, you may have to update AA 9. It might be possible to deal with work arounds. I have not heard about folks trying AA 9 with Win8 (32 or 64-bit systems). Several folks have installed AA X and AA XI on Win8.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 Update failure- "Error Applying Transforms, verify that the specified...

I have ignored this issue for long enough.  I have Adobe CS4, with Acrobat Pro version 9.3.4.  Windows 7.  Acrobat updater pops up on my machine, and when I execute the update requested, the updater gives me the update failure message, with code 1604, "error applying transforms."
I have seen solutions posted for this tranforms message, but it was a problem with Acrobat 8.  I have seen no solutions as of yet for Acrobat 9, so I thought I would post.
I also tried opening Acrobat 9 Pro, and under the help tab, I initiated "repair".  I get the same transform error message as above.  Any advice anyone?  Should I just uninstall Acrobat 9 Pro and reinstall using my CS4 disk?
    Thanks for the help!

If you have original CD with Acrobat installation, copy all files with extension .mst from this CD to the following location:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Setup Files\[ProductCode]   if this is 64bit system
    or
    C:\Program Files\Acrobat 9.0\Setup Files\[ProductCode]   if this is 32bit system
where [ProductCode] is a unique value which identifies your language version of Acrobat 9 Pro.
    If this is EFG version, it should be {AC76BA86-1033-F400-7760-000000000004}
If location does not exist, create it.
    2. If you do not have original CD and cannot find .mst files, provide the exact Product name including language and I will provide further instructions.
    Good luck

  • Message received after Adobe Acrobat X Standard reinstall - Update failed Error 1007

    Adobe Acrobat Error 1007
Updates have been disabled by your system policy
    HELP!!  The situation:
    Windows 7 Professional 32-bit .
The product was uninstalled and then reinstalled.
After the reinstall, it never asked for a EULA acceptance, a re-registration  or a re-activation.
It would open a pdfs for about 6 seconds and then close out.
If you tried to do updates from the menu in the program, it would give this error:

This alert was created by a JavaScript code (as you can see from the title of it), which someone obviously did not write very well.
You should be able to open it if you disable JS (Edit - Preferences - JavaScript), and then you can remove this code completely (if the file is not secured).

  • Updating Adobe Acrobat - CC or via Updater?

I've installed Adobe Acrobat Pro via my Creative Cloud subscription, but now I'm receiving notices to update Adobe Acrobat via a message thru the desktop updater. Creative Cloud shows that I have the most recent version installed. Which tool should I use to stay updated... CC or the desktop updater?

If Creative Cloud App is not showing the latest update then you may try below steps once
click Gear icon on the top Right corner and Quit Creative Cloud App
Hold windows key on your keyboard and Press R key.
In Run window, type Appdata and click on Ok
Open Local > Adobe > AAMUpdater folders
    Delete 1.0 folder
Then relaunch Creative Cloud app and check.

  • Publishing to the Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro server - two questions:

I publish Captivate output to the Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro server.  I have two questions:
How do I publish content so that users open up the output in full screen mode?
How do I publish content so that users open up the output in their flash players instead of their browsers?
As is well know, varying browser toolbar setups can make or break if your content fits on to the screen.
    Thanks!

    Hi there
I'm unsure if you are asking about this as it relates to Connect Pro server or not?
If you are asking if there is a way to open a Captivate presentation in Full Screen from Connect Pro, I do note that during Publishing, in the dialog the option for full screen mode is disabled. (which is odd because the first time I checked, the option was actually enabled!)
Again, speaking in terms of deploying the content via Connect Pro server, I am unaware of a way to coax Connect Pro into presenting as a SWF only. At least, not if you are publishing to it from Captivate. I did test by publishing a SWF from Captivate to a local folder on my hard drive. Then from inside Connect, electing to upload only the SWF. That seems to work. But again, you really don't have any control over the size of the window that opens. At least as far as I can tell. (I'm somewhat of a Connect novice)
Perhaps you might locate the forums for discussing Connect and ask the questions there?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Acrobat 9.5.2 update questions

Nov. 15, 2012 - As Adobe sends there update notices, I updated yesterday morning and lost all functionality.  Couldn't open a PDF, kept getting messages that my license had expired.  Called Customer Support and after an hour on the phone, we uninstalled my Acrobat 9.0 Standard (download version) and then reinstalled it from my Adobe Order History online.
Then was told to update with 9.5.1 (not 9.5.2 which was what the upgrade was yesterday).  Now, 9.51. will not install because of a message that reads: "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by Windows Installer because the program to be upgraded is missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.
This is case no. 183809469 - a few questions regarding the install this morning:
Also, I was instructed to download Acrobat to my desktop (???), then it of course installed in my Programs Folder.  Now I have a new 334 mb Adobe folder on my desktop and a new 884 mb folder under Programs, which I believe is new 9.0 program (its dated today).  Can I delete the one on the desktop now?
Also have an original 334mb folder for Acrobat 9.0 on my C:/drive. which is from my 2009 install.  Can I delete this now?

I hope you did not delete all the download files. If nothing else you should store a copy on a CD or DVD to archive the files. You can then also record the software key in case you need to do future installs. Do not expect for the download to be available in years to come, so you need to have the archive in case you have issues requiring a reinstall.
When the update from the Help menu does not do the job, you can download them from the web site provided. Be aware that most of the updates are not cummulative and you will need to install them in order.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 not including Updater when first installed?

I install Acrobat 9 for specific client PCs in our domain. After installing, I run all updates until I get up to version 9.5.5. I run updates via Help > Check for Updates.
As of today, I am getting an error that reads:
"THERE ARE NO UPDATES AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME UPDATES FOR THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS CANNOT BE DETERMINED AT THIS TIME: ADOBE UPDATER"
I have tried this on multiple PCs, always the same issue, always installed under Administrator account. Was never a problem before. If it matters, Windows 7 64 SP1 with all current updates. It has worked on Windows 7 64 PCs previous to this via the same process with no issues.
    Thanks for any help!!!

Sometimes the update site is down and other times they no longer support online updates to the products. You should still be able to download updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (there is an equivalent for a MAC). If you download from the latest back, you can find which updates can be skipped. Also, a reboot is only needed after the last update. It is possible to combine the updates, but I don't know how to do that.
