    Hi grinolot,
This seems to be licensing issue to me.
Please try the following steps and let me know if that helped:
Delete all the files from following folders:
    C:\PrgroamData\Adobe\SLStore
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD
Then launch Acrobat, Accept EULA and enter the serial number again.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro stopped working again but I think I've spotted something...

    Hi Folks.
I am one of those users, Adobe Master Collection CS6, whose Acrobat X stopped working mysteriously a few days back.  I followed the discussions on the forums here where others were experiencing it and took the advice on offer to delete cache.db and reenter my serial number.  That worked a treat.  Until right now, after only a few days of all being well my Acrobat is gone down again .
When I followed the said instructions above, I created a backup copy of my working cache.db file and it is 16Kb in size.  Now, looking at my current cache.db file, it is 20Kb in size, so something has happened to it, it's grown in size by 4Kb and I'm wondering if whatever this problem is is related to this extra 4Kb of data which has been added to the file?
    Two questions...
    1.  Is there some way for me to send this file to Adobe so they can take a look at it and see if they can figure out what's going on?
    2.  Is there a solution to this that works!  I don't want to have to keep replacing my cache.db file every few days to keep Acrobat working .

The growth in file size is probably just a side effect of the encryption when it gets locked. You can use the Feature Request/Bug Report Form to report your issue, but there is no guarantees anyone will follow up. Anyway, since this is a frequent issue, I'm sure one of the next updates for AAM is already in the works and will fix it.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Stopped working correctly

I have a legal licensed version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard that has worked fine for several years. Suddenly and possibly after one of the not so helpful updates, I can no longer delete, insert or extract pages. The delete option shows but is grayed out and the other options do not even show as a possibility anymore. I tried: repair, reinstall, deleting all version and reinstalling but nothing has helped. I truly need this function. Contact with Adobe directly and there answer was "ask someone who can help" (ok a paraphrase for sure but basically they said go ask the community). Nice right? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They never responded and I found no thread providing me with a fix. I wound up having to pay for the newest version.

  • Scanning problem - "Adobe Acrobat 9 has stopped working", Windows 7 OS

    Hi all,
First post in the forum - Adobe has always come through for me before but I'm having problems that I can't solve by myself this time. When I try to scan documents into Adobe Acrobat 9 the scan completes (all the documents are drawn through) but when it attempts to progress to ask me whether there are any documents left to scan it crashes. There's no specific error message; Adobe just shuts itself down.
I'm using Windows 7 and an IR2800 Canon printer-scanner combo to scan the documents. I downloaded the latest driver for the scanner earlier from Canon's website and am at a complete loss as to what the problem might be.
I would very much appreciate any help rendered.
    Regards,
    Chris

Sorry, I'm a doofus! Sorted it out, was a problem with the Network Scangear (I had an old version)

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Stops Responding

I work in IT as desktop support for a city. We have a user that is always calling and saying that she cannot open PDF files. What happens is that Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 stops responding and you must go into Task Manager and kill Acrobat.exe. We've taught the user how to do this, because she's been having the issue for apparently 2-3 years.
    Here's the thing...
She is the ONLY user in the city (of about 1000 users) that has this issue. She first had Adobe Acrobat Pro 8, so we upgraded her to 9, we have created a new profile on her machine, we have uninstalled and reinstalled, we've wiped her hard drive and started over, and we've given her 2 new computers. Nothing has worked! We just gave her a brand new computer with everything up to date yesterday. This morning she called after about 3 hours of using it saying she's having the same issue.
Considering everything we've done, and that nobody else has this issue, we believe she is causing this issue. But we don't know how. We have never been able to replicate the problem ourselves. This afternoon we are sending a tech to sit with her to watch her and hopefully see if she is doing something that could cause this.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Logan T.

She's a buyer for the city and recieves a lot of PDFs through e-mail. I think that's where most of her PDFs are opened from (Outlook 2007). I'm not sure how many she creates herself. I'm honestly wondering if she even needs Adobe Acrobat or if Adobe Reader would just be fine (she claims she needs it). That will be something the tech can look at today while he is there.

  • Acrobat Distiller has stopped working (not 30 day issue)

I've been running CS6 on my Windows 7, 64 bit machine since at least October. I had the 30 day issue at the 30 day mark, but resolved it and it's worked flawlessly for months after that. Now,  I get an error message that says Acrobat Distiller has stopped working. My only option is to close that window. Acrobat continues to work to read, edit and save an already created  PDFs. Here are where I experience errors.
I can create a new PDF within Acrobat.  If I click "Create PDF" then choose a Word Doc, it gives me at least two times the error message that Acrobat Distiller has stopped working. If I keep closing that message, eventually the pdf will have been created and will be in the Acrobat window and the file will be saved.
I can't print to PDF at all. When I try from within Acrobat, I see a little window that says it's checking fonts, then the Distiller stopped working error message. When I try printing to pdf from other programs (have tried Word, Firefox), crashes.  It could be a one page document with just text, or something with pictures -  no go.  I just tested it again - now Acrobat is not responding.  I can't end the Acrobat process - have tried closing the window, and saying end process, tried ending Acrobat from within task manager, tried ending the acrobat and acrotray processes - multiple times in Task Manager and Acrobat won't close.
I don't know how to fix this. I've checked to make sure Acrobat was updated; I've updated my Windows; I've reinstalled Acrobat.  Nothing fixes it.
When I run Acrobat Distiller, it freezes seemingly in the midst of checking fonts.   Here is the text of the problem details section of the error message I get:

    Error Status Code:    c000009c

I think I may have fixed my problem...  I am no longer seeing the Distiller stopped working pop up and I am now able to print to PDF
    Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
My Fonts and program are all installed on the same drive  thus preventing me from gaining access to Distiller to change the settings. Windows would not let me make any changes to the Default Font folder.
    This is what I did...
Not knowing which font(s) where causing the problem, I moved all but protected fonts (automatically labelled) from the Window's Font folder and placed them in a temporary folder.
I restarted Distiller DC and great news...the program did not crash and I was able to change the settings to temporarily not include the Windows Fonts .No more pop ups and I can now print to PDF!
What I am going to do..
Through the process of elimination, I will gradually restore the fonts I removed from from the Window's folder to find the culprits(s)
Once I am satisfied that the problem Font(s) are found and no longer  included in the Window's Font folder, I will change the settings in Distiller back (permanently) to include the Window's Font folder.
In closing, and because so many others are having the same issues, I really do think it would be prudent for Adobe to make the necessary adjustments to their program(s) to prevent this kind of issue.
    Thanks
    Kathy

  • Acrobat XI has stopped working

We recently have created several forms in Adobe InDesign CS6 and our users have Acrobat XI (Full version) installed on Windows7 64-bit.  I'm getting more and more reports of Acrobat XI crashing while they are filling out these forms.  Sometimes they will have multiple forms open, other times it happens with just one.  They get an error stating, "Acrobat XI has stopped working" and their adobe windows clos.  These .pdf files are stored in dropbox and they usually open the files by browsing to the dropbox directory and double clicking on the file.
This is happening on 11.0.0 and also 11.0.03.
Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this?

No, we haven't checked out the form in Acrobat->Preflight.  I'll look into that.  The person who designed the forms exported them from InDesign as an interactive pdf.
I don't know if these will help, but one of my users took some screenshots as it was crashing.  I've attached them.

  • Acrobat Distiller has stopped working

I see this has been posted a couple of times but the issue has not been resolved.
I am running FrameMaker 12, Distiller XI, on Windows 7.
I'm trying to File > Save as PDF and I get the error--  Acrobat Distiller has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The only option is to click close. This error appear 3 times before it really stops.
I have investigated this issue to a particular font issue. Although, I do not know how to correct it.
In the Distiller, Settings > Edit Adobe PDF settings , I have selected the folder for Fonts, unchecked Embed all fonts, added my font to the Always Embed list, saved my settings and then used those settings to try the same process again, with the same result.
The font that I want to embed is a free font, so there should not be any license issue with it.

This will not be Distiller Server, I suggest the regular Acrobat Creation forum. Nobody comes to this forum because Distiller Server stopped years ago.

  • I'm running Indesign CS5 & it appears my Adobe PDF presesets have stopped working. Can you help?

I'm running Indesign CS5 & it appears my Adobe PDF presesets have stopped working. Can you help?

It's under utilities in the window menu.
If the simple PDF works, that may indicate a problem with the file after all, but one way to to force the export to the foreground is to create a new Book (File > New > Book), then add the file that's giving you trouble to that book. (a Book is just a container format used to combine multiple .indd files into a single output)
From the Book panel flyout menu you can export to PDF and see what that does. Failure indicates a file problem, success a background task problem.
It's a little odd that you aren't getting an error message....
Anyway, if the problem is the file, try export in two halves. If both halves export, it's a system resources problem and not much you can do other than attempt to see what is using all the memory (probably some large complex vector object, or many vector objects) or just do the export in chunks that work and combine them in Acrobat Pro. If one half fails, try exporting half  fo the failing half at a time. Keep dividing the failing half until you isolate a page with the problem.

  • Adobe Bridge CC has stopped working -again

After many months of pain caused by Bridge CC not working it seemed to be cleared up in Sept '14. (I used just about every fix that was suggested incl. preferences changed to have no program load on startup, managing cache, etc.) I has been working flawlessly until today. My pc notified re: windows updates were ready to install. I cleaned my pc, closed all programs and installed 23 updates. (Win7, 64bit) Updates seemed to install cleanly but Bridge CC will not open and displays a white screen and the msg "Adobe Bridge CC has stopped working" This began immediately after the os updates were installed so I suspected that was the issue. I restored the pc to before the updates and CC will still not open (stopped) and in desperation I tried Bridge CS6. CS6 opened normally and I was able to open a folder. Touching the space bar should have opened the selected file to full screen image but instead I got the same error msg now saying Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working. I have the same programs on my laptop and CC opens and works properly. So that sounds like my pc and not Bridge is the problem but there is an incompatibility somewhere and I am stuck and my work is piling up as I speak. I need my bridge back!

This problem has been solved by Microsoft, rebuilt Win7. I would like to delete my question to reduce clutter here but I don't know how to delete it. A moderator may delete this if they wish or someone can add to my reply and instruct me. Thanks!

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working - has issue been resolved?

    Hello.
I am experiencing the above problem with a new install of CS6.
    Has this issue been resolved?
CS6 Design and Web Premium installed on Win 7 pro 64 bit Dell Precision laptop. Error with Adobe Bridge cs6: "Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working", problem event name "APPCRASH". Error occurs when opening Bridge from Photoshop and other apps (Browse in Bridge) and directly from desktop or start menu. Also a cache directory is not being created under c:\user\<user>\appdata\roaming\adobe\bridge\. Holding ctrl key down and double clicking icon gets same message, cannot get at reset window.
Performed the following with no change: verified Bridge and full suite is on latest version (Bridge=5.0.2.4); created desktop icon directly from bridge.exe; verified application was installed and is starting with administrator privileges; verified latest display driver installed; performed complete uninstall of CS6, CC cleaner tool run, then full reinstall; Error under Event Viewer: faulting application: Bridge.exe and faulting module name: ntdll.dll; disabled UAC; tested memory for damage using MemTest86-good.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

A follow up to the above.
There appears to be a number of possible causes for this type of error. In my case it was somewhat specific. I had a stand alone copy on this same machine previously of Adobe Photoshop CS2 (only) which was completely uninstalled prior to the installation of CS6. There is an issue with Bridge CS6 being installed on a machine that has Bridge CS2 on it. I wasn't aware of Bridge being present with my copy of Photoshop CS2 but apparently there were at least some components of Bridge CS2 left after the uninstall. The workaround that solved the issue for me was the creation of an empty folder:
    C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS2
For those of you who may have this situation.
Here is where I found the solution (sixth thread down):
    Bridge CS6 won't open running on Win7
