Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Corrupted Fonts In PDF

I am hoping that someone can help with this issue that I am having. I have been using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for most of the year without any issues until recently. When I have been creating PDF from Internet Explorer 9, some of the text in the PDF is correupted, while other text is not. It displays properly in the "Print Preview", but after the PDF is created it is messed up. It does this on both the 64 and 32 Bit IE9. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit as an O/S. Any idea as to why this is doing it, but more importantly how to fix it? I have tried to unistall and reinstall the software, but that didn't fix the problem. Please help!

If you use ctrl-D>Fonts you can see if the fonts are embedded and if the original font or a substitute is being used. I would guess that the fonts are not embedded and that is your problem. So, to help you trace the problem give the version no. of IE, the sub-version of Acrobat (like 9.4.5) and how you are creating the PDF (like printing to the Adobe PDF printer). For the creation, what job settings are you using. Standard is the default, but you might want to try the press or print options.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro failed to print pdf file

I downloaded adobe acrobat pro and started the 30 trial version just a few minutes ago.
I could open files through adobe acrobat and convert word files to pdf, but when i tried converting a publisher file it could not go through. An error popped up which read "Adobe PDF printer failed to print pdf file".
The publisher file I am hoping to convert to pdf is a 21 page panorama article. It contains lots of images and a variety of font types.
I do not know other alternatives for solving this issue.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Erik

It seems to be that Adobe Acrobat virtual printer is not properly installed on your PC or you are not selecting Adobe PDF printer to print PDF document. Checkout the below screen shot to see proper printer.
After trying this if you have same problem you may trt some other virtual printer that easily convert or print any file as PDF, you may checkout here.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and am having problems printing PDFs created from AutoCAD.  Printing other PDF created by MS Word works well.  Had a similar problem in an earlier version of Pro.  The fix I figure out then was to print the PDF file as another PDF.  Using the second PDF to print to a plotter typically worked.  It does not work for Adoabe Acrobat Pro XI.

  • I use adobe acrobat pro, why do existing pdf docs open in adobe reader?

How can I set all pdf docs to always open in acrobat pro vs adobe reader?

If you have both programs installed you can choose which one acts as the default by opening Preferences (in either of them) and on the General tab, click the "Set default PDF handler" button.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 PDF docs print differently to different printers

I have a a saved PDF file.(it was created in FileMaker).
It looks perfect on screen.  It has a signature line____________ date_________ at the bottom of the page.
When I send to our color printer, the signature line moves up to the middle of the page, which is where the text info ends.
When I send to my black and white printer, the signature line remains at the bottom of the page where it belongs.
I have also resent the same pdf to 2 other printers, 1 black and white, and 1 color, and it prints correctly.
So basically, 3 out of 4 printers print correctly.
I have contacted out IT department and was told it was an Adobe problem and not a color printer driver problem.
I don't understand that part of it.
Why would a pdf move information around based on the printer it is sent to?
    Any suggestions?
Is is an Adobe setting for that color printer or is it the printers problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I have now checked other people in my departments Adobe versions.
I have Adobe Pro V9.0.0, and does not print correctly.
1 person has Adobe XI Pro and prints correctly.
1 person has Adobe Pro 9.5.5 and prints correctly.
1 person has Adobe Pro V9.0.0 and does not print correctly
I have now installed the available upgrades which only took me to 9.2.0 and still prints incorrectly.
I wil try and find the other updates and see if that helps.
    thx.

I get the following error when trying to convert a web page to a PDF document:
Could not access acrobat's Web capture facility.  Acrobat may be busy or waiting for input
The Program is not open and it errors out.  Can someone tell what's going on?  I have plenty of disk space, running XP home addition.  Version of Program is 9.3.0.

I have same issue except I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.  I have already downloaded all the updates, I have ran the repair install and same error message!!  It was working and now it isn't and I am in the middle of a project and need help ASAP PLEASE!

Editting PDF documents that were created by a MAC doesn't work because of font incompatability.  How can we get MAC fonts and load in our Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If it's a Mac font and you're on Windows, you can't. If you are also on a Mac, you'll need to purchase the fonts (fonts are generally non-transferable, like software. One of the reasons pdf exists), install them and try your edits.
But it's best to edit the original document and create a new pdf when finished.

  • PDF files opens in Adobe Reader  9 but not Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

After one of my users digitally signs a PDF file, and saves it, he cannot open it again.
He gets either a reference memory error or a Font Capture error.
I can open the same PDF file with Adobe Reader 9 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.
If  I take the same file to a system with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 - same error on the same file.
Happens to my administrator account as well.

    Adobe Reader version: 9.4.1
    Acrobat Pro 8 version: 8.2.5

So the option was already checked when opened the document. I went ahead and unchecked, closed, reopened just to test and it's still not displaying correctly.
In response to Bill@VT. The image is on top of a white background so I can't tell if there is space there or not, it's just all white.
She showed me another document that's doing something similar today. This time the pdf was done with a green background and now the background shows as white. It was created the same way with Indesign and it shows fine in Reader and the Windows preview pane just not Acrobat. I'm trying to get the user to find the installation media so I can remove and reinstall, but I'm not sure if she will be able to find it.

  • Problem with pdf-printing in Adobe Acrobat Pro

    Hi,
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.3.
PDF-printing has always worked great but suddenly there is some kind of problem.
After printing a excel-document from "Print to pdf" built-in function in MacOS OR Adobes Printer I have corruptet pdf-files when showing them in Adobe Reader/Acrobat, but the MacOS Preview-software shows them correct.
So, there cannot be any problem with the printing, but the local preview on my computer using Reader or Acrobat. I dont even use the Myriad font in the document, I use Verdana.

You say you're using Verdana but you're not. The error message clearly shows you're using MyriadPro Bold.
You probably recently installed the Mac OS X 10.6.7 update which has a bug with OpenType PostScript fonts like MyriadPro Bold. Either use Verdana or another TrueType or PostScript font, or revert to Mac OS X 10.6.6.

  • Embed font in Adobe Acrobat Pro

Uploaded a PDF document into Adobe Acrobat Pro from Microsoft Word. Is there a way to embed all the font?

There isn't a way to set this during the Combine process but it's easy to change all the bookmarks in one go using the following technique:
Open the bookmark navigation pane and select all the bookmarks (be sure to expand all subbookmarks).
Right-click and choose Properties from the context-sensitive menu.
Click the Actions tab and choose Execute a menu item from the dropdown.
Click the Add button and choose View > Zoom > Zoom to Page Level and click OK.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI unability to open pdf mail attachments

Since upgrading to Adobe Acrobat Pro XI I am unable to open most pdf attachements on outlook. The message is that the file is corrupt or was encoded wrong. How do I correct this.

    Hi Pat
I tried to save the attachment to the hard drive in Outlook 2013.
When opening the file in acrobat the error says that the file is either not a supported type or damaged (incorrectly encoded)
I have Acrobat Pro XI version 11.0.10 and windows 7 64 bit installed. It worked perfect on Acrobat pro X until about December 2014. In tried a repair, a clean install of XI. The files are bank statements. It works on Mac and Adobe reader, so the files must be correct.

  • Font issues on Adobe Acrobat Pro

I am running OS X 10.9.4 (mavericks) on my iMac and have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed on this computer. The font we use is an older font that doesn't come pre-installed on Mac's anymore (Blair Md medium ITC-TT). I downloaded and installed the font to font books, and it seems to work okay on Word but doesn't work on Adobe Acrobat. When I convert word documents to PDF, the font changes and there is no way for me to change it back.
How can I fix this problem? Thanks!

    Using Acrobat XI Pro.
File - Save As Other - Spreadsheet - Microsoft Excel Workbook

  • Problems with reading a pdf-file using Safari/Adobe Acrobat Pro

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.5. and Safari in Snow Leopard I open the pdf-file of  http://dare.uva.nl/document/505726 and small boxes appear in the text f.i. on page 70, 74, on the last page etc.
I don't know why those small boxes appear only on my MacBook Pro with the installed software and others don't read a corrupt text. If I click in den pdf-file on the right side of the mouse and choose "open with Adobe Acrobat Pro" the pdf-file opens correctly (without small boxes)!

As you discovered, Adobe Acrobat/Pro/Reader v.9 will crash for all managed user accounts that store their home folders on the server because it has "difficulty" reading and writing to a folder across a network, which is why it crashes shortly after it launches.
HOWEVER, there is hope. All you need to do is tell Adobe to write all of its files to the local drive rather than the home folder on the sharepoint, as follows:
While logged into your network-user account:
    1. Go to the "Shared" folder on the local drive. (Local HD > Users > Shared)
    2. Create a new folder named "9.0_x86" if you have an Intel or "9.0_ppc" if you have a PPC (without the quotes for either case). You will have to authenticate as an Administrator.
    3. Go to the Acrobat folder within the user's Application Support and delete the folder in it.
    (Home > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Acrobat > 9.0_x86 or 9.0_ppc)
    4. Open/launch the Terminal application found within the Utilities folder on you Mac.
    (Applications > Utilities > Terminal.app)
    5. In Terminal, enter the 1st command for Intel or the 2nd for PPC:
    ln -s /Users/Shared/9.0_x86 ~/Library/Application \Support/Adobe/Acrobat/9.0_x86
    OR
    ln -s /Users/Shared/9.0_ppc ~/Library/Application \Support/Adobe/Acrobat/9.0_ppc
Adobe Acrobat 9 should now work properly. You may get the "quit unexpectedly" error message the first time you quit the application, but should only happen the one time.
On a side note, the print spool is slow when printing very large multi-paged PDFs.
This is a fix I found in 2009 by Dennis, can't remember where though.
