Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard does not  reconize scanner

I have my HP 6280 Printer/Scanner set up as a network device. When I try to scan a document, I get an error message that Adobe does not reconize the requested device. It worked for a while after installation, but has since stopped. Scanner works with other programs, how can i correct this problem? Dell Laptop using Windows 7 Pro.

Are you running at least version 9.2 of Acrobat? Are you able to log in with a new user account on Windows to see if it works?

I am using generate 3D from captue feature and am able to generate 3d pdf files of single objects but whenever I use assemblies or STEP objects that i imported from NX and opened in solidworks it does not work. It does everything .... like asking those standard questions that it will take time depending on the size of the object.... and then shows me the task bar... showing that the capture is in process.... but at the end of it... it just shows a blank pdf file with no geometries. what can be teh reason

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard XI Not Responding

This is the third time this has happened. While scrolling down the page, Acrobat stops responding. I have to uninstall and reinstall the software and then it works again. Any ideas how to prevent this from happening again?

    Anubha,
I did not receive a response to my comment (#7, Jan 29) for my specific situation. In it are all the details that have been requested by Adobe more than once. No, I have never used a third party pdf creator. If this is a Win 7 problem, as suggested by another member, we won't get any help from MS as the have stopped supporting Win 7. This problem may be an interesting marketing ploy for us to go to Win 8 or 10 and or buy a new computer.
Here is Item #7 copied and pasted to hopefully save some time.
"I am experiencing the same random "Not responding" issue. Here is some additional information. I am using Acrobat Pro 11.0.10 installed as part of Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. The Creative Cloud indicates the SW is up to date even though the update history does not show any updates applied.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit. This happens in all applications where I use the Print command and select Adobe PDF printer. It does not matter when the files are created. Another symptom is the "Convert" button in Internet Explorer (v11.0.9600.17501) does not work. Nothing happens when it is clicked.
Hopefully we have provided sufficient information for Adobe to find the SW issue and fix it.
Ironically, Acrobat has been one of my most reliable go to tools."

  • Adobe acrobat professional does not work?

I am having problems with my adobe acrobat when I try to open it I get "your application has unexpectedly quit."
    I have tried to reinstall.
I have reinstalled in safe mode.
And alot of other steps listed on the adobe website and with tech. support on the phone.
Is there any why it would not work after all this?

  • Adobe Acrobat X does not convert pdf to Excel with floating columns!

I have a Macbook Pro, running 10.6.8, using Acrobat X Pro.  I have tried all Adobe suggestions for converting credit card statement saved as Adobe pdf to Excel.  None of the recommended solutions separate the data into columns.  It places all data, separated by spaces, into ONE column. Adobe should fix this if it is going to claim that the product converts to Excel, and for $300+ it should!

    Hello,
you may scan using any ICA-Compliant software (e.g HP Scan, Image Capture, Read Iris, etc) and then launch the file using Adobe Acrobat.
As you mentioned Adobe require TWAIN Drivers, however the HP software only provide ICA Drivers.
As you may find listed within the scanning specification below, Twain drivers are only provided for Windows OS:

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard XI: Why prompted to save file when nothing changed?

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard as the default PDF reader. I PDF printed a page from a website. Then I clicked to open the PDF. After I finished viewing the file, I closed the window. Adobe Acrobat prompts me to save: Yes, No, Cancel. Since I changed absolutly nothing, I am puzzled why Adobe Acrobat's save dialog thinks there are changes and askes me whether I want to save the changes.
I have repeated opening and closing the PDFseveral times.
Then, I tried opening and closing another PDF, and it just closes without prompting to save.
Why do I get different behaviors on different PDFs? And can I control the behavior to get or not get the save prompt when there are no changes?

I like that Adobe Acrobat will correct problems, then ask you whether to save.
In the case of this file, I click Yes to save. Then the next time I open and close the file, it asks again, and I click Yes to save. Adobe Acrobat always does it with this file.
With another file, Adobe Acrobat (AA) does not prompt, unless I change the file.
I don't know which difference matters. AA created both PDFs. The problem file was a print from a webpage. The good file (that closes without prompting) was created from a scanner.
I tried PDF printing this page (i.e. the page on which I am composing my response to your message). Then, I opened and closed the PDF, and was prompted to save.
Seems like if AA corrected the problem, and I saved, AA should not have to correct the problem again (if that is what's happening). Also, if AA made the PDF in the first place, there should be no problems with the PDFto correct.
You know what? I just tried printing another website and same prompting everytime I close.
I've been using Chrome. I tried printing with Internet Explorer, and no problem of prompting when closing.
Hmm. I just tried PDF printing from FireFox. No problem here either.
Well, Now I suppose I just leave it for Google and Adobe to work out, if they care to.
I just tried opening the problem file in AA and PDF printing from it. This seems to have cleaned the file. The second PDF file has no problem opening and closing.
I've got an idea. I just went to the address bar in Chrome and typed "Chrome://plugins". That's the only way I know to get to the Chrome plugins. I saw that I have BOTH the Chrome built-in PDF Reader  AND the Adobe Create plugins enabled. I disabled the Chrome PDF Reader so ONLY the Adobe Create plugin is enabled.
I printed this webpage again (the webpage you are reading). This time, there was no problem opening and closing the PDF, no prompts to save.
However, now online PDFs will not display in Chrome. Instead, Chrome offers to download the PDF.
I went back to the plugins and found Adobe Reader disabled. I enabled Adobe Reader so now I have both Adobe Reader and Adobe Create plugins enabled.
    The problem came back.
I don't know who would fix this, Adobe or Chrome, but would be nice to "have my cake and eat it, too" meaning, not have to muck with the plugins to AA-print clean PDFs from Chrome, and then muck again with the plugins to display PDFs in Chrome.
I tried FireFox. Displays PDFs, and AA-prints PDFs that are clean (i.e. no prompt on closing from AA).
Well, that is enough (maybe more than enough) from me on this. I'll monitor this discussion in case anyone comments.

  • Why does Acrobat Standard 6.0 recognize scanner but Pro 9 will not?

I am running both programs on an Intel Mac (same machine), 10.5.8 Progam.  My Acrobat Standard 6.0 pulls in the scanner immediately, but my Pro 9 will not recognize the scanner.  Is there something I have to do to get the Pro 9 to recognize the same scanner?

Thank you so much for your patience and expertise.  You spent a lot of time
on this with me.  Maybe Adobe will fix the problem in the future!   Good
    luck to you.  Joyce

  • The content menu in my Acrobat X Standard does not include the "multimedia" selection??

What am I missing?  The Adobe Classroom In A Book clearly refers to it...

    Hi,
I am sorry to hear that you're having trouble in locating 'Multimedia' tools in Acrobat.
Acrobat X Standard does not include most of the interactive object tools. You need to use Acrobat X Pro for those features. Kindly check the comparison matrix at:

I just purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard DC andf upgraded from Acrobat XI. When I instalkled it on my PC the print Production Tools were there and functional. I installed it on my Laptop and those tolls are not there. What do I need to do to have Print Production Tools on both computers?

This is quite odd. I wonder if you could try something for me on EACH computer.
Use Help > About Adobe Acrobat DC.
At the top of the box it should say Adobe Acrobat Pro DC or Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.
On each of the two machines, what does it say? (I think something odd has happened)

I just bought a ScanSnap scanner and it came with Adobe Acrobat Standard for Windows - but I have a Mac - can I get the Mac version?

    Hi Dcee3,
Acrobat Standard has not been developed for Mac platform so Mac version is not available. It can only run on windows machine.

  • I can not find the Adobe Acrobat Standard 11 download, it keeps jumping to the Acrobat Pro 11 download.

Does anyone have a link to download Adobe Acrobat Standard? I click on the Acrobat Standard download trial and takes me to the download for Acrobat Pro and my upgrade does not work with it.
