Adobe Acrobat 9 STD, commenting toolbar

Hi,
I've got an issue, when trying to review and comment on a PDF in internet explorer, the commenting toolbar doesn't appear. therefore i cannot comment and review pdf's.
O.S. is Windows 7.
Internet explorer 8.
Adobe Standard 9.
I've done some troubleshooting by install Adobe 7 STD and Adobe 9 PRO, Both of these the commenting toolbar shows but not with Adobe 9 STD.
I've been struggling with this for the last two days, please help.

Do you know what the logic was to make such a dramatic change - since all the previous versions of Acrobat permitted the forms toolbar in the regular view? They must have thought this format was better. Any ideas?

I have a customer, who wants to edit the PDFs, which are attached to emails, before forwarding them. (He just wants to add a sticky note).
I recently found out, that this is only possible with Adobe Acrobat and not with Adobe Reader. Now, the question is, which version do they have to use? Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Professional?
Does someone just know the answer or can anyone with Adobe Acrobat Std test this situation?

It's been a long time since I've used Acrobat 7 Pro but I have used Acrobat 8 Professional.
The key thing is to choose the correct tool. You're looking for the Touchup Text tool, which is probably on the Advanced Editing toolbar. You can probably open up that toolbar by choosing View > Toolbars > Advanced Editing. With that tool selected, drag through the sentence to be deleted. Right-click (Control-click) on the selected text and press Delete.

Acrobat 9 - Comment toolbar drops off in browser window

We use a browser environment to comment on PDF documents and sometimes (about 5% of the time) with Acrobat 9 the "Comment" toolbar option does not appear (this does not happen with earlier versions of Acrobat). If I close the browser and Acrobat down then restart it appears again.
Does anyone know why this might sometimes happen?

Is IE9 Security preventing the download of the file? IE9 has a security feature that does this and pops a dialog at the bottom of the browser window, you might want to check it out.

Product Registration option won't go away on Adobe Acrobat Std X

Hi,
I'm in the middle of a customization project for Adobe Acrobat, Reader and flash. For the Acrobat (standard), I'm using the customization wizard and selecting the option to suppress registration. At first it seems to work: when I open acrobat it's not there, but after a few seconds, it shows up grayed out and then after a few more seconds, it shows fully enabled.
I tried other registry tweaks and also tried to hide the menu through js (but couldn't find it).
Any ideias? Is it doing it for any know reason?

My computer was missing a iPodDriver.kext, and an archive update had to be performed for the OS. I went to a Genius Bar, it took about an hour.

Adobe Acrobat Std 8 vs. Adobe Acrobat Std 9/Email with Reader

As far as features are concerned, what is the difference between Adobe Acrobat Standard 8 vs. Adobe Acrobat Standard 9. I do not use Adobe but I work in the IT dept (helpdesk) and one of our users asked me this question. I tried checking the website but could not find anything about it.
Also is there a way to e-mail a single page from a PDF document that contains multiple pages with Adobe Reader 8 or 9?

Adobe Acrobat Std XI - Quick Pick Toolbar

Had issues with Acrobat Pro 9.5 so uninstalled and upgraded to XI Std. Customized the quick pick toolbar with all the tools used most often. Opened a pdf and all the customization disappeared. Added the tools back in but they keep disappearing. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

When I add a tool to the quick pick toolbar, it does stick.
I do this by clicking the Gear icon on the toolbar to open the Edit Tool Set dialog.
I add the tools I want (they are added to the default tool set.
I click Save at the bottom of the dialog.
My toolbar remains as I set it.
Are you adding tools the same way?
If not, can you describe what you do that is not working.

I don't have tool bar of adobe acrobat. Safari toolbar displays. How can I get acrobat toolbar, need to highlight parts of my document

The acrobat window is part of my safari window.....doesn't show toolbar for acrobat. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've uploaded my docs and want to highlight parts of them. Appreciate any help.
Have anything to do with fact I'm on a mac.

Try updating to the latest version of Acrobat 9. I do not believe Acrobat 9.0 was Windows 7 compatible. You need 9.1.x (I forget the exact version number).

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - Toolbar Did Not Install in Firefox

The toolbar did not install in Firefox. I'm using Firefox 31.0 on a Windows 7 Computer. I want to be able to convert webpages to pdf files and print the webpages out.

Go to your Extensions in Firefox to see if it is ENABLED or DISABLED. My money is on DISABLED.

Adobe Acrobat Std v8.1.5 - why can't I print like I normally do?

I installed the download yesterday to v8.1.5 and ever since I have not been able to print. Keep getting "Invalid Adobe PDF printer properties. Pls select "Print directly to the printer" option from Adobe pdf printer properties "Advanced" tab." I did just that but the it just crashes every time I try to print.

I tried that but it didn't help at all. I ended up re-stalling everything and now it's printing. I am now on version 8.1.7.
However, although it prints, the printed document stays in the Adobe PDF Printer Status Monitor with the message "error printing". So I end up with a long list of docs with error printing. I have to periodically delete the queue from the status monitor.

Using Adobe Customization Tool XI to deploy Acrobat STD and PRO

I'm using Adobe Customization Tool XI to build Adobe Acrobat STD and PRO packages.
It seems that none of my changes stick during deployment.
Example: I open AcroStan.msi with the tool. Make all necessary changes and generate transform file. I then exit without saving changes to AcroStan.msi file.
After that I test the installation in C:\Test folder with the following command:
msiexec /i acrostan.msi TRANSFORMS=test.mst
Installation window pops up since I didn't use silent installation switches, but none of the information I have provided are available, it defaults to out of the box experience asking for serial number as well.
Am I doing something wrong?

I have created .mst file named test and put it in c:\New Folder along with all source files, including AcroStan.msi
Command line:
c:\new folder>msiexec /i AcroStan.msi TRANSFORMS=test.mst /qb (I've used QB to watch the progress).
It failes with this error attached below.
We can close this subject though.
I've started testing this on different machines and they all work fine.
I have many VMs to test on, and the one I have picked to start with is causing the above error so I'm going to link this issue with the OS.
Other VMs and desktops are working great.

I have a license key for Adobe Acrobat Std 8 but cant seem to find the software available anywhere to download? Does any one have a link available for this or can point me in the right direction to getting it.

How can I procure a TLP license for the French version of Adobe Acrobat?

My company has been successfully licensing the English language version of Adobe Acrobat (Std 7 Pro) under TLP for nearly two years from our US-based reseller, for locations in both the US and in Canada. Now I have a license request from our location in Quebec for the French language version, and neither my reseller nor the reseller's Adobe specialist have been able to provide any useful (or even coherent) advice on how to accomplish that. Can you help?

Nobody at Adobe sales, support, or in its reseller or user community has a clue how to procure a TLP license for Acrobat in a jurisdiction using one language localization and deploy it to a subsidiary in a jurisdiction using another? Surely you aren't serious? This is an elementary corporate software licensing question. The inability of Adobe (et al) to provide any answer does not bode any better for its future than does the fall of Flash to HTML5 for web page rendering. The history of IT companies that come to believe that they have some kind of historical entitlement to market share and no longer need to work for it isn't pretty. Watching this company attempt to sustain itself on Creative Cloud subscriptions alone should be amusing. One more reason to lkeep looking for alternative formats and products, I guess.

USING FORM BUTTONS IN ADOBE ACROBAT/READER

Hello, I am using Adobe Acrobat Std XI to create a form that Adobe Readers will be filling in. Everything works in the form except for the button I inserted to allow the user to reset/clear the form. The button works fine in Acrobat but it is no working in Reader. I have tried saving the file as Reader Extended version, I have tried the file protected and not protected and I cannot get the button to work in Reader. Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong or is this simply because I'm working with Acrobat XI Standard and not Pro?
